Another fun read from CW Wells. Has quickly become one of the authors I drop whatever I'm reading when a new book comes out. Fun, Maine, page turners every time.
I give CW WELLS four and a.half.stars, dinged for the confusing editing. (Note: when editing Spanish, it helps to know some, when editing English, it helps even more to know the nuances of an incredibly versatile language, folks. Fortunately this review isn't about YOU)
This book is hilarious, but deep. The info about salmon farming is why we ONLY buy wild in this house and being on the west coast, it's easily doable from here. Even reading a novel about the indecent practices of salmon farming repulsed my soul, because having seen catfish farms, I know the processes detailed are pretty darn accurate. How smart to have laid them out in such a manner!
Meanwhile, while I don't "do" romances these days, the Hiassen and Barry flavor notes to take foibles and stupidities as what they can be is refreshing and quite enjoyable. Thank you, CW, I'm going to march in your army. Just one thing: get a more sensitive and caring editor: if not for my sake, for the bottom dollar of your sales.
