Self esteem is believing in your intrinsic worth. Self confidence is a close cousin but it refers to believing in your abilities. Not bad I do believe it helps. Self esteem is self love? Self confidence is self trust. Both have to do with your perceptions.

I wasn't sure what to make of this book going in. The "For Dummies" series is generally pretty good, but a book like this could easily be full of meaningless generic talk. It gets off to a strong start, alleviating my early fears that it would be a waste of time. While the early going had some solid advice and exercizes, as it went along, the book lost its focus. I guess the authors bit off more than they could chew as it went from just talking about self-esteem to how to improve at your job. It's related sure - it's applied self-esteem - but it read like I was reading a different book. I got to repeatedly hear how one author is a life coach, though.

Great early, but flags later on.
