THE CHEEK KISS OMG I MELTED😭🫶🏻 honestly o was surprised when ato realised he likes suiren. tbh i thought that he will be with aya idk why lol but then koharu has fallen in love with him so i thought that they will end up together? my intuition fails in this series😭
Is it too much to ask the mangakas to write a side alternate story where Atohira and Suiren get together?!? Lol
Anyway, I’m glad to see Kawasumi and Suiren are united and committed to one another. Atohira was in denial about being in love and that was cute. He’s so blunt and aggressive though. It’s no wonder Suiren was surprised that he liked her. Lol

Konnichiwa to all readers 🌸
Today I bring you the review of the tenth and penultimate volume of the manga "Daily Butterfly" by suu Morishita. Having said that, we begin:
🦋The volume opens with Suiren greeting all her classmates in a gesture that goes unnoticed and immediately the attention shifts to the couple, who talks about her meeting with Atohira.
It should be noted that this event will end up straining the relationship between the two martial artists.
🦋Koharu, who had been interested in Atohira after the singles party he attended, makes her final attempt to try to form a romantic bond with him.
However, he rejects her with the same calmness that he did with the rest of the suitors he has had.
Later, tensions go awry when Atohira takes Suiren out of the cafeteria where she goes with some friends to check what he is beginning to feel for her through interest in her relationship with Kawasumi and finally proposing impromptuly.
She rejects him indirectly, since she suffers from a severe illness. Once she has recovered, he asks her not to talk about what happened with Kawasumi.
🦋In the last chapters of the volume, the school festival that closes the school year is covered and the rivalry, now for Suiren, between Kawasumi and Atohira is revealed.
Aside from the fact that both the same frustrated Romeo and his brother take Suiren to the Ferris wheel that caused the last fight between the couple, the two of them meet to have a duel in the dojo.
As a key element, we find that Kawasumi tells him everything in relation to the event, leaving us with the unreachable flower holding the butterfly pendant tightly.
🌸Conclusion: This volume leaves us one step away from the climax of the title. Considering the situation inspired by fantasy literature, we can intuit that, regardless of the result, in the next volume we could see their first kiss.
The characters are still cute, but this is still a major slow burn. The story is at least familiar, and if something escapes memory, a quick glance back at past reviews and summaries jogs the memory enough to bring things back up to speed again, especially with how slow things move in this story. Suiren is still painfully awkward and has trouble speaking most of the time, except it seems when she's talking about Kawasumi, and of course she's doing better actually talking to Kawasumi himself. Kawasumi is struggling between being the overprotective boyfriend and a supportive friend, while it seems like Ato has more than a little interest in Suiren, but admits at least to himself he doesn't want to break Kawasumi and Suiren apart (not that his actions follow that logic entirely). We also get to see Suiren meet Ito for the first time and some real time comparison that shows why the others may think they're somewhat similar, though Suiren seems to think Ito has a much more imposing aura. The ending is a bit on the hilarious and wary side between Kawasumi being shocked to see Suiren and the non-challenge from Ato that really does seem more like a challenge all in all. Not sure how he thinks they'll never spar again unless he's planning to disappear again or quit karate, which we've seen hasn't worked out well in the past.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Suiren takes another step into becoming a normal girl, but Atohira continues to interfere in her relationship because... he has a crush on Suiren? (Could've fooled me, but the only other explanation is that he had a crush on Kawasumi instead, but no)
Meanwhile, Kawasumi is supremely jealous that his biggest karate rival is also trying to become his biggest romantic rival. (This 'plot twist' is one of the most boring versions of this I've seen, because these characters barely talk; 80% of this story is silent glances and fluffy flower feelings and the other 20% are Suiren and Kawasumi being head-over-heels for each other, so it's doubtful anything will break them up at this point.)
Add to this that Koharu has transferred her crush on Kawasumi to Atohira and is still getting snubbed... give the girl a break.
It was a bit boring at first but then it started getting interesting with the new feelings Atohira had for Suiren, and Kawasumi being jealous and confused because Atohira was more handsome than him.
I liked how Atohira wanted to get closer to her and was upset knowing that she smiles only to Kawasumi.
And I actually started considering Atohira as my favourite character in this manga. Is it because he's so handsome and attractive? Yes.
I have a love-hate relationship with this manga and I’m not sure why I’m torturing myself with it. Actually I’m lying, I do know. I enjoy reading about Kawasumi and Suiren who are both new to dating and love as well as are really shy, similar to myself. The relatability is there but sometimes they frustrate me to Pluto!
In this volume, we see Suiren getting stronger and more comfortable with her “popularity.” Suiren takes advice from Atohira, however he starts having feelings for her. Atohira is conflicted as Suiren is his brother’s friend’s girlfriend as well as his friend’s girlfriend, but his feelings continue to grow. At the same time, Koharu is trying to start anew and she has feeling for Atohira.
This volume was confusing for me. The “advice” Suiren was taking from Atohira wasn’t exactly mind-blowing and honestly wasn’t something that could only be said by Atohira. Also, Suiren at one time avoids Atohira but then for no reason let’s him push her around. I’m not a fan of people who push others around and I felt that this was used just as an excuse to extend the series and get some interactions between Suiren and Atohira.
I absolutely loved Kawasumi in this volume. It’s quite evident that he is jealous and knows that Suiren is keeping secrets from him. However, he is being calm and not pushing her. Kawasumi is trusting Suiren and I really loved that!
As usual, there were many hints on the progression of Suiren’s and Kawasumi’s friends. I honestly wish they got maybe a chapter or two on their growth rather than the generic statements mentioned.
This is the tenth volume out of twelve in this series and it’s quite evident that the relationship between Suiren and Kawasumi is improving, if slowly. All of their friends also seem to be getting along well in their lives, although they unfortunately feel very unrelatable and detached from the story. I’m hoping I can find some solace in the last two volumes but I’m skeptical.
