When I started the play, I wasn't sure if it would turn out to be the kind of work that needs to be seen instead of read, but as the conversations became more simulanteous, traveling down the page in two or three columns, I was hypnotized by the reading experience and the theatrical possibilities. Perfect example of Japanese "quiet theater."
