An informative look at fifty of the world’s most notorious robberies, murders, frauds, forgeries, kidnappings and hijackings.
From the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand to the Watergate burglary, the most infamous crimes continue to hold public attention long after they were committed. History’s Worst Crimes takes you on a journey through fifty of them, taking in acts of treason, meticulously planned heists, and the most shocking examples of corporate fraud. Step inside the fateful last moments of Gandhi, Lincoln and King before their assassins struck. Walk the mist-shrouded streets of Victorian London in pursuit of a notorious serial killer. Follow a group of British men as they plan possibly the most audacious robbery in history. And take a look inside Enron: the largest corporate crime of the twentieth century. All of their stories are recounted here, with fascinating historical context surrounding those involved, from the people who committed the crimes to the individuals charged with bringing the perpetrators to justice.

A good book that gives a quick oversight of some of the world's worst crimes, but if you want more in-depth information, then I suggest finding a book dedicated to the particular crime you're interested in. This book is great for dipping in and out of to quickly refer to some well-known crimes and the perpetrators who committed the crime.
I really enjoyed this True Crime book as it had a range of different crimes not just murder (robbery, assassination, fraud etc.) Definitely recommend if you like true crime definitely an interesting read.
Although I labelled this 'true crime Australian' it was more so I could find it with ease among my collection, as this book deals with crimes from all parts of the world that have greatly affected the country of origin in some way. Whether it was the terror of a serial killer, or the loss of money through fraud, this book presents each story in the same way. It provides the facts and only rarely adds opinion to this fact. The short information snippets in chronological order make the book breeze by, and I enjoyed it immensely.
8/10 Stars. An interesting book on some of the most... well known... rather than worst crimes. Some of course could certainly be counted as among the worst crimes in history, while others, merely unfortunate, and in a few instances, the fault of the victim. Still a good read for anyone interested in crime.
Snappy bite-size chunks of illustrated information of a range of crimes, including the usual array of assassinations, kidnappings and sensational murders. Another Works special!
