*THIS IS PART ONE OF A COMPLETE SERIES. Billionaires, smart-mouthed ladies, and a ton of debauchery await!*
"This is business. That spoiled billionaire doesn't love me, and I don't love him. He only wants me for one thing. Turns out I only want him for one thing too - and it's not just his money. I love the money. Screw my morals with a Phillips Head, because I want Ethan Cole's money, no matter what he asks of me.It's only business. Hear that, heart? Business." --- She needs a job. He needs a sub. Surely they can come to some sort of agreement.
Jasmine is jobless and down to her last dollar, living in squalor with only a mean cat to keep her sane. On the day of an important job interview she's spotted by none other than Ethan Cole, the smart and handsome billionaire bachelor who tears through personal assistants as if they're cheap tissues.
He wants her. To be his assistant. To be his submissive. For six months all Jasmine has to do is be at his beck and call. In the office, in the boardroom... and in the bedroom. In return, she'll become a millionaire.
They say that every person has a price. Ethan is willing to pay Jasmine's. Now she will enter his world of money, bad jokes, broken hearts, dangerous business partners, and sweet white collar power.
The moment she signs that billion dollar contract, she belongs to Ethan Cole. Her body... and her heart!
This was a good start to the series. Jasmine Bliss is unemployed and desperate to find a job, she is now interviewing for a secretarial position for Jackson/Cole when Ethan Cole takes notice of her and decides to offer her a different position then the one she just interviewed for. Ethan offers her a position as his personal assistance and his submissive. SAY WHAT!?!?! that was one very interesting job interview. Six months, that is what he is asking her for and at the end she will get a very healthy deposit into her bank account, on top of the hourly wage she was to make as his assistant.
1) I wish more authors would learn to use the past perfect aspect.
2) Sanctimony about sex work has no place in such a story. Just because you aren't working out of a brothel does not mean you aren't a sex worker. Nor is sex work inherently immoral.
3) Cats are the best. Cats named after pirates have a lot of street cred.
I think I would of acted the same way Jasmine did when being presented with a proposal like that. I love reading about Ethan and Jasmine. Can't wait to see where this proposal will lead!!
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
This was a great story. This book was well written, and I love Cynthia Dane’s stories. Once I started reading, I could not stop reading the book. I loved the characters of Jasmine Bliss and Ethan Cole and how their relationship started, but loathed Ethan’s business partner, Jackson Lyle (from the Domination series—did not like him then and do not like him now). Jasmine lost her job a couple of months ago and was currently temping, and then she received a call for a job interview at Jackson-Cole for a secretary position. Ethan Cole, the bachelor billionaire who is very handsome, notices Jasmine in line waiting to be interviewed, and she is summed to his office. Ethan, who is afraid to love, goes through personal assistants like water every six months. When Jasmine meets Ethan Cole, she is offered $3 million dollars to be his submissive for six months (being available at his beck and call) as well as being his personal assistant. Will Jasmine accept the proposition that Ethan offered her or will she counteroffer and ask for just the position? Will Jasmine fall in love with Ethan? Will Ethan drop Jasmine after six months as his personal assistant? I was surprised that his book has some humor and it has some very hot and sexy scenes. If you have read any of Cynthia’s books before, you will enjoy this book as well.
I like how the book began with a letter to Ethan from one of his subs. It gives a hint to what type of personality he has. I do wish the book had more of his pov but it is from Jasmine's. It is easy to see why her meeting with Ethan causes such a dilemma for her. She needs and wants the money being offered but at what cost to her self-respect. She agrees to a date with before she signs to even see if they're compatible. After finding out that they are compatible, she still doesn't know how she feels about signing her self-respect away. There is only way to find out and that is by signing the contract
I love all her books. They are so real to life interesting and keeps your attention all the way through. You will enjoy this great book, I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
