Liam Parker crash landed into Laurie’s life when everything else was crumbling all around her. Her marriage and career were in pieces and her mind was left spinning. But one touch from Liam, and Laurie could forget everything else around her. She thought she had it all figured out. As Laurie lost herself in Liam’s warm caresses and his commanding blue eyes, her husband refused to go quietly into the night. While Laurie fought to move on, it was James who was working his way back into her life, fighting for the marriage they had once held dear. Forced to make choices she never imagined having to make, Laurie finally found herself on firm footing, knowing which way she was going to turn. But then life threw her another curveball. And when she once again began picking up the pieces, learning how to survive and rebuild after everything exploded, there was only one man still there, one man who remained by her side, showing her that sometimes life isn’t about learning how to survive… It’s about learning how to thrive.
Stacey Lynn likes her coffee with a dash of sugar, her heroes with a side of bossy, and her wine a deep shade of red.
The author of over thirty romance novels, many of which have been best-selling titles on Amazon, AppleBooks, and Barnes & Noble.
Born in Texas and raised in the Midwest, she now makes her home in North Carolina and loves all things Southern. Together with her ultimate tall, dark, and handsome hero, she has four children. Her life is a chaotic mess that fights with her Type-A, list-making, neurotically organized preferences and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
This has a spoiler, so if you're going to insist on reading this tripe, then don't read this.
FIRST--this is really the rest of the first book. The author was so lazy or greedy that she took one lousy book and divided it into two. It's a cheap trick and I don't appreciate it.
SECOND--Her husband has an affair in the first book with her best friend. Then she meets a delicious guy on a business trip named Liam. He is super hot and I mean, just get a towel now ladies. She has an incredible affair with him, but he makes a mistake and helps her father buy her company. He doesn't tell her about this, but who really cares? It's business and it's not as if her sleeping with him had a single thing to do with it, because it didn't. Yet, suddenly, he's an awful person. Too thin on motivation, author. Please try harder.
THIRD--She takes back her sh*tty ex husband. It's stupid and disgusting. Yeah, she's married to him, but he kind of forgot about all that, so why the hell would she dump Liam who is clearly falling in love with her for a cheating spouse?

I'm having a hard time dealing with what I know is right and what I'm feeling is right. Please know you must read book one before reading this review! I don't want to spoil it for anyone! So if you plan on reading this series, read this review later.
In book one we find out Laurie husband James cheats on her with her best friend...not with just any woman mind you, but her bestie! In book one I really liked Liam (the sexy British man she met at a hotel while on a business trip). I really, really liked him...I even imagined him as David Gandy so you know I liked him! Laurie and Liam's sexual relationship started because Laurie was vulnerable, but I still liked their chemistry. Their sex was hot and something steamy and serious was brewing between them. So imagine my surprise when I'm excited for book two, I start reading it and realize Liam is discarded like dirty laundry and barely in the story.
Here's what I know, I know James is her husband and I know that even though he made a mistake as a wife she probably should do everything she can to save her marriage. But I didn't like how all of a sudden Liam is kicked to the curb in favor of the husband. I do feel Laurie was very naive and she forgave her husband so fast! I'm still asking "What about Liam?!" I'm just left hanging...and I hate this feeling. Also, Liam was not a bad guy, I just wish Laurie had pursued that relationship a bit more. She should've given both men a chance and then decided who she wants. I felt like the decision was never really hers.
Overall, this was written well read and I could see how it can be an emotionally healing read for many people who've experienced a traumatic thing like marital infidelity, but I did not like how it ended. Please know that's my opinion, because others may like the ending very much.
So I know James was a good husband and it's amazing how they are able to work out their issues, but my feelings are screaming for more of Liam!
What a huge disappointment. I hoped that in the second installment of the series I would have had some explanations about what happened and some hints about their future relationship. Sadly nothing of this happened. - the heroine decides, after being deceived by om, that she would give her marriage another try. So she goes counseling with cheating assband. -counseling is a failure because heroine is too emotional -assband still works with ow because the company can’t fire her or transfer her. Mmmmmm. - om. He did nothing wrong. What he did was to have sex with heroine then he started having feelings for her and was uncomfortable because he didn’t do feelings. Seems a very good start for an alpha hero who falls for the heroine. But nope, sorry, you have to settle for cheating assband because our writer decided that women must forgive. Aaarggggg!!! - heroine’s job. Our heroine leaves her job because, now hear hear: her father bought the company where she is working, so she won’t be comfortable with the feeling that she hasn’t deserved her place. WTF??? Never heard anything more absurd. - heroine’s parents. They look like loving parents but both of them basically tell the heroine that she must forgive her assband cheating, because it takes a stronger woman to fight bla bla bla… are u serious?? They should be on her side. - there’s still no explanation for the hero’s behavior. What we understand is that he felt neglected because his wife had a job she loved and she didn’t give all her attentions to him. The hero is 30 going on 3. And how was the deed?? We readers have to know how it happened. Was he drunk? Did ow start it? Was it only once? No detail. Frustrating. Disappointment. - there’s a quite happy ending because they decide to go on with their marriage. But we don’t know if it will work. Maybe an epilogue 5-6 years later with a couple of children would have been better. I don’t care if he swears he will be faithful. He swore when he married her. And he wasn’t. So I trust him even less than the heroine. - my impression is that this book would validate cheating as a normal experience in a married couple. It is not. Not everyone cheats, no matter how many problems they have. It’s a matter of strength of character. - the heroine here looks like a horny teenager. After spending book one lusting after om, it takes one look from her assband to melt her panties. And she stays that was all the book. Embarrassing. Wasn’t om much better than assband??? -When I was at 65 percent of the book I understood how it would go, and that I wouldn’t have had any answers about the cheating, I started losing my interest and I wanted the book to end as soon as possible. - so, no. Sorry, it wasn’t a good ending to the first chapter. I don’t fall for words or great gestures of the moment. It was good- but much too late- that he decided- after 3 months - that he wouldn’t work with ow again, but is it enough? There will always be women around him. Can you trust a man who cheats for no reason at all?
This second part of the story of Laurie and James marriage implosion was very addictive.
James is desperate to show Laurie that their marriage is worth saving and he will do whatever it takes to give her what she needs to trust him again. He wants her heart to love him again.
Liam pretty much wants her body and the sexual gratification they both get from being together. That is all he give her though.
After the shock of the changes at work, yet again, Laurie knows something has got to give and being around Liam is one thing she can change. There is no future with him but is there a future with James?
When a family crisis has her returning to her hometown, James proves his worth not just as her best friend and husband but just in the way he is as a person. He knows Laurie inside and out so can meet her every need, he is the person she needs right now.
Laurie and James needed this time together to begin to understand where things went wrong for them and to try and make some headway into fixing their marriage.
I was king of hoping for some sort of confrontation between Laurie and Becca or James and Liam but alas it did not happen. In fact the last 30% of the book was just about plenty of hot sex and mending which was nice but I was hoping for a little drama :)
*I was provided an ARC of this book through Netgalley.com in exchange for honest feedback.*
I'm still struggling to accept the change in this story's direction. I thought I knew how everything would work out at the end of the first book, but I was wrong. I wouldn't say that this book was bad. Truly, it was a good book. It just didn't go the way I wanted it to, so I didn't like it as much as the first book.
Depending on how you wanted Laurie's love triangle to be resolved, you may either love or hate this book. I don't want to ruin this for anyone, but I will say that only one of her two love interests plays a significant role in this book. The other one just sort of fades into the background.
As much as I wanted to hate this book because Laurie did not choose the man I wanted her to, I begrudgingly enjoyed it. It was actually quite sweet and emotional. I still don't trust the man she chose either.
Overall, I'd give this one 3 - 3.5 stars. I liked it, but it didn't leave me with the same warm fuzzies that 'Entice' did. I'm still curious to see how book 3 will play out also.
Again, I should have stopped at book 1, but I’m an idiot.
This could easily been condensed and included with book one.
Cheating husband and cheating wife get back together. The end.
I’m never quite sure what the point of revenge or tit for tat cheating is all about. He did it first, so she need to hurt him as badly. Only in this case, he had a ONS and she had a full blown affair. Is she somehow justified because he did it first? Are her hurt feelings more important?
I don’t get the whole if he cheats, he’s wrong; but if she cheats, she’s justified. Nope, that doesn’t work for me. Both suck.
Self note avoid Book 1-2 is about cheating. H-hub- cheats on h with her bff. The h then has an affair with a hot guy. She takes back the cheating hub at the end.🙄
I really liked the first book. Laurie was a woman scorned and she was ready to take control after her world spiraled out due to her husband cheated by with her supposed best friend. She was ready to experience another man besides her husband. Empowerment, right?!? Spoiler alert.....
Wrong!
After being blindsided again by Liam (who didn't cheat on her I might add) and her mother's heart attack freaking her out, she allows her parents & James to lure her back into the supposed comfort of her marriage, and only real relationship she's ever been in. It's obnoxious that she spent the whole first book sexing it up with Liam, only to do a 180 and go back to James. I really feel that if Liam had manned up and told her how he felt, she wouldn't have went hiding in James's arms. While I understand she was emotional, her character was so inconsistent. "Oh I want Liam, can't resist him. No I don't want him, but wait." Then she's "Oh James, I can't trust you. But you're all I know, so rather than be an adult & just be on my own since Liam hurt me, I'll stick with you. Oh I can trust you. No wait, I can't, you just talked to Becky for work." I feel like it was bait & switch. She'd have been better off leaving Michigan altogether & starting over. Be on her own for a while. She's too easily manipulated, borderline TSTL. And I feel bad for Liam. While the whole business buying/selling fiasco was terrible, he was a decent guy. The author used him as a scapegoat to put Laurie & James back together. And I saw no valid reason for them to continue their marriage. Or maybe the whole thing was just so poorly constructed because, if you couldn't tell, I was rooting for a strong, new & improved Laurie to end up with Liam. There's several hours I can't get back

"I deserve a man who wants me and will stop at nothing to have me. I deserve a man who will fight for me."
You have to read the first book before reading this. Without it, you won't understand the sexual attraction between Laurie and Liam. You won't understand Laurie's difficult decision or her confusion.
"I want to f*ck the memory of him out of you."
But Embrace is not about Liam. He's is barely involved in the story. Here, you see Laurie and James trying to mend things together. I felt Laurie's anger, sadness, and jealousy. I didn't cry in the book, but I still got her emotions. This was a great read.
The first book was phenomenal, and absolutely a MUST READ. Do not read Embrace without reading Entice first, or you will be missing out on so much. Lately all the sequel stories I pick are are just not at all as good as the first book. Well, that's definitely not the case with this story. It's just as good, if not better than the first. In the first story (Entice), Laurie is devastated after walking in and overhearing her husband and best friend heatedly arguing about the time they recently slept together behind her back. Laurie leaves for the weekend to try to figure out whether she's going to stay in her marriage or file for divorce. While away on her weekend, Laurie meets Liam, who shamelessly comes onto her, twisting her fragile self esteem inside and out, and for the first time in a very long time, making her remember what it feels like to have someone enormously attracted to her again. In her devastated state, when Liam propositions her with one night of phenomenal sex, no strings, no relationship, just one night. Laurie (going back and forth over and over again) finally agrees.
Liam is a force to be reckoned with and he does things to Laurie's body, making her feel things and do things that she's never done before. Man, the sex was incineratingly hot in this story. One night with Liam turns into many, and despite her best efforts, Laurie starts to fall for the man. Meanwhile in the background, Laurie's husband James is begging Laurie for her forgiveness, trying to get her to come back to him, and he's willing to do anything in his power to make their marriage work. I don't want to give the entire book away, but in the ending turns ugly and Laurie is left once again devastated and betrayed, and completely lost about where her future lies.
This book is entirely about Laurie and James trying to get back together again. Trying to rebuild trust and trying to give their marriage another chance again. It's so packed with emotions and feelings, I completely believed the rawness of this story. And the sex was again, just absolutely fucking amazing. We really didn't get to know James much in the first story. Reading other reviews, some were pissed because they were totally team Liam, and they hated Laurie giving her marriage another shot. Me, being a married woman, I absolutely loved how these two amazing people actually put every they had into healing their marriage again. All the feelings of mistrust that they both had to overcome felt so very brutally real. I loved every second of this story. The only thing that would have made this story more satisfying would have been to see Laurie give that conniving little bitch Becky the throat punch she deserved.
Book 2 2 James Stars This portion of the book focuses on Laurie working on rekindling her marriage with James instead of getting divorced. I think the book will sit differently with individual readers and especially if you have worked through marriage. To me it just ended so abruptly and just didn’t really resolve any of their marital issues.
There is a third book in this series which appears to be a standalone about differet characters .
This series was just not for me. I wish other readers well and it is already well received by many other reviewers
Authors should read this book on how NOT to write a cheating-recovery book.
Legit, the series ends with the FMC and the reader never understanding why the hero cheated and whether he'll do it again! Instead, when the heroine brings this exact concern up with their couples-therapist near the end of the book, we're told by the therapist that it's an ongoing process and they'll work it out in future sessions! And then we're told by the heroine that they often have deep discussions about their marriage at home. Except we're never shown any of these discussions...just told. Who wants to read about a "HEA" where the heroine still doesn't trust the hero or really understand why he cheated??
And what was so pathetic is that BOTH of the heroine's parents basically tell her that cheating is forgivable and a strong woman can overcome it. It's then hinted that her father cheated on her mother and he never cheated again - so the heroine's own parents are used as an example of a success story. No no no no no!! How convenient!! Instead of actual relationship development between the hero and heroine, the author is making the heroine's own family side with the cheater. Such a cop out!
The hero will 100% cheat again! Especially based on the crazy ridiculous ending...the heroine walks in on the hero masterbating to kinky threesome-porn (which is perfectly acceptable btw, but whatever), and she gets pissed and he apologizes profusely. But his apology revealed everything!! Unbeknownst to the heroine, the hero said he was watching the porn to express his frustration because he was super angry at the heroine for sleeping with OM. But wait! That basically parallels the reason we're told he cheated on her in book one: unbeknownst to her, he's harboring resentment against her...and vents it by cheating with her best friend. So what has he learned??? They've been "discussing" and going to therapy (we're told), but this book ends with the hero parallelling the same behaviors that led him to cheat. He gets angry at her, doesn't tell her about it, and then uses sex as a means to release it.
This picks up right where the first book leaves off. Laurie is feeling betrayed by Liam and still trying to figure out how to deal with James. The frustration is high and her feelings are all over the grid. It isn't easy when Liam makes her forget her own name and James just won't stay down for the count or that her parents continue to meddle.
Another shocking truth comes to light for Laurie and it sends her over the edge. She pushes Liam away and falls into James who has been fighting since she served him the divorce papers. After twists, turns, and constant coming after Laurie, the decision is set. The two end up together in a sweet ending.
Personally, I didn't like that Laurie chose to stay with the cheating husband. First off, he freaking CHEATED. He. CHOSE. TO. CHEAT. Also, Liam and Laurie have this uncanny connection and can just throw that all away because of some hidden truths on Liam's part? So you're going to forgive someone who screwed his secretary that you've been friends with since high school but not give Liam a chance when he actually went out of his way to be a better man? I feel that the dropping of Liam was unexpected and really odd. Liam is the perfect redeemable hero while James wasn't. I want a passionate happy ending, not some crap that's thrown together because you can forgive and forget.
I struggled to finish this book because I got so pissed when I realized she was actually going to go back to James. Liam turns you on with just a few words and actually told you he was trying but you're going to go back to the cozy thing you know? That to me screams coward. Maybe I'm more of a risk taker and love a good redeemable hero, but James just annoyed me. He used her parents against her and her parents meddled on his behalf. I just got so annoyed with Laurie for being so weak. The book is still well written but ended with a crap ass ending for me.
This story is something else. This book is full of drama, betrayal, and hurt pride. I know James cheated on Laurie and to be honest, I'm not sure If something like this actually happened to me that I could forgive and forget. But my heart hurts for James!
Laurie's character really frustrated me in this book. Part of me wants to shake Laurie and tell her to stop toying with the men in her life. But another part understands why she is hesitant. She says she wants one thing, but when that one thing is looking her in the eye, she doesn't want it. Ugh, talk about emotional whiplash!
The part of the story that had me throwing my hands up and almost walking away from the book is when Laurie walks in on James masturbating to porn and completely freaks out. She acts as though James cheated on her and what he was doing was wrong. There is nothing wrong about masturbation and I feel like the author is sending a bad message that there is. Laurie's expectations aren't realistic.
Luckily, Laurie gets herself together by the end of the book and I am happy to say I love the ending! It was touch and go there and an emotional roller coaster.
I have to say that I really struggled with this book. Why? Well, since you asked, I had the same problem that I had with the first book. Laurie is not her own person. She allows people to walk all over her, acquiesces to other's demands and in the end does not even attempt to take the time to reacquaint herself with who she truly is or wants to be.
I had so much hope for Laurie. I wanted her to stand up for herself and just leave everything behind. I wanted her to find the strength to pursue her dreams with the baggage of her past but instead she picks up that old Samsonite and refuses to move on to better. No, I am not talking about moving on with another man. I am talking about moving on alone. But, I am not the author.
Personally, I know women get over affairs their husbands have with other women but I don't think I could do it when the other woman was your former best friend. That is a betrayal on a whole different level. I will give the author credit for her nontraditional approach to this read. It just wasn't for me!
This has got to be the one and only cheater romance that I have ever truly liked. The reason why was because for once, I didn't feel like the heroine was a weakling that was terribly wronged. Yes, Laurie's husband did cheat on her and hurt her, but she returned the favor. Another reason why I liked this so much was because of James. He didn't act like any of the cheating douchebags you usually read about, he was repentant, and he did everything in his power to win her back. He behaved like a man that was truly sorry for his mistakes, and it also helped that he got a taste of his own medicine.
I really didn't like how this story ended... Not for the outcome of the heroine's affair, but for the fact that everything that happened on book 1 was completely put aside..it felt choppy and too much like a lose end to me. I liked how it was going, even if she didn't end up withwho I wanted her to end up with, if it have had a bit more consistency to the story on book 1, without leaving these loop-holes, iI would have been ok with it...
This book took such a turn from the first one that I’m not sure if I like it or not. I’m glad for a happy ending but I was really thrown for a loop since I was rooting for Laurie and Liam. I’m all for second chances but this one didn’t sit right with me in some ways. Really enjoyed the first book though. This one..... not so much I think
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
“How and I supposed to win a battle when I don’t know what I’m fighting?” “I’m not something to win,” I whisper, although my words are clear. He shakes his head once. “You’re everything.”
I thought this book was an awesome follow up to Entice, I wasn’t sure which way the story was going to be taken but I really loved where it ended up going! This book picks up pretty much right where the first book left off after Laurie learns of the latest betrayal at the hands of a man (or men) she trusted. I won’t say what it was in case you haven’t read Entice yet but it’s left her again in a position where she’s questioning everything and left having to figure out what to do to move forward. I don’t envy her for the situation she was in and the choices she is now facing but I felt that she handled it with such strength and I really respected her and her decisions.
At the end of the first book I was conflicted with which team I was on and who I wanted her to end up with. On the one hand we have the familiarity of James, her extremely apologetic yet one-time unfaithful husband, with whom she had been with since they were teenagers and whom she still loves despite all that’s happened. And on the other hand we have the sexy and mysterious Liam that she shared several steamy nights with trying to forget the mess that was her marriage. Much like her I was very torn between the man she’s always known and the prospect of the new and unknown.
When a family emergency comes into play she discovers which man will stand by her side and help her pick up the pieces. I have to say, I was not expecting it to go the way it did but I am sooooo happy with her choice. By about 25% into the book I knew who I wanted her to end up with, so I was very happy it turned out the way it did. It was all so believable and I know that if I were in her shoes I would have done the same thing, which really helped me connect with Laurie and with the story as a whole.
As I’ve come to expect from S. Layne/Stacey Lynn, the writing was so strong and even though the book wasn’t overly long, it was packed with emotion. I finished the book last night and even now, I get a little emotional sitting back and thinking of Laurie’s journey. As a married woman, I think this book is a little scary to think about because no one wants to find themselves in Laurie’s situation and putting yourself in Laurie’s shoes is a hard place to be but Ms. Layne not only heals Laurie’s heart by the end of the book but she also healed the reader’s heart along the way.
I really enjoyed this book, both books actually, and I look forward to Talia’s story. I also hope that we get more from a certain other character from this book because there is still a lot I want to know there!

If I didn't have a copy of Embrace after finishing Entice, I probably would have passed out. The first book in The Affair series had me all turned around, and my mind was focused on one thing and one thing only: What. Is. Going. To. Happen. Next. Because seriously! With everything that happened by the end of the first book, my feels were all discombobulated and there was no way I couldn't find out what was next.
At the end of Entice, Laurie finds out something that completely throws her for a loop and she isn't even sure what to do. Liam tries his best to explain his side of things, and the two of them face some serious decisions. When a family emergency arises, Laurie leaves everything behind to take care of it. She is placed in close quarters with her husband, James, the one who was caught cheating on her. Laurie discovers that in life there are many things that are not entirely black and white. James is still determined as ever to win Laurie's affections again, despite the fact that she slept with Liam. They both made mistakes. They both want to make their lives better again. Laurie just needs to figure out what, and who, she wants in the end.
Embrace brought on all the feels, all the emotions, and all the romance. Before reading this book, I had a very strong opinion when it came to infidelity, but after this, I can understand why someone would want to remain with their spouse in certain circumstances. The love story Laurie chooses to have makes you believe in true love. S. Layne caused all sorts of feelings to arise in me through this whole series. I swear, you need to read it and see for yourself!
I am going to start this out by saying that I am so opposed to marital affairs, but for some reason his book and ENTICE did it for me. I loved that Laurie decided to take her life into her own hands no matter what anyone else thought. I hate that she was ever in the situation that she was in because of it she did something probably never imagined she would do.
With that being said...I can not believe the outcome of Laurie's story. I just did not see it coming, but after it all played out I am so so so happy with the outcome. I don't want to give it away, but when I finished ENTICE I was like the majority of readers. After reading EMBRACE I am now firmly planted on the opposite side of where I was. I don't want to spoil the read for anyone else so I won't say how it ends, but I will say that James definitely did redeem himself in my eyes. The way the situation played out is most likely not how I would have handled it, but it definitely won me over.
UGH! I feel like I am giving it away, but I am not going to come out and say it. I will however say that I liked the way the characters grew in this installment. Laurie was a much more open minded person, but she still took her life into her own hands and did what is best for her. James manned up and decided that he couldn't just throw apologies and flowers at Laurie to try and make things better. Liam had feelings, he started to see Laurie as more that a piece, which wasn't the plan. I liked that even the relationship between Laurie and her parents grew as well.
I am excited for more of this series. I like the pace and the characters and am ready for more.
Liam and Laurie's physical connection is undeniable, but Liam kept some pretty serious secrets from Laurie that caused her life to change in drastic ways. She knows that she can't trust someone who has deceived her in this way. James is trying to do whatever he can to help Laurie understand how much he loves her and that he will do whatever he can to rebuild their relationship and trust.
Laurie is still reeling from the chaos her career and life was thrown into after she met Liam. She is dealing with her career situation when a family tragedy throws another challenge into her life. James is there to support Laurie in any way she will let him, and makes it clear that he will do whatever it takes to rebuild their relationship. Laurie begins to feel that maybe she and James could try to work towards reconciliation, and she finds that her attraction to him is still strong. The tougher part is the trust and dealing with all of the hurt. This story definitely comes with a lot of emotional highs and lows, but it feels real. Relationships can be tough in the best of times, but rebuilding a marriage after an affair can come with some pretty tough emotional tasks. It was encouraging to see Laurie and James work to be honest with one another and really try to find what needed to be done to move forward. I have enjoyed this series a lot, and have enjoyed other books by this author in the past. i will gladly read more of her work in the future.

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.
I love this author's writing style. I loved Entice and I was looking forward to finding out who would eventually end up with Laurie. I had not quite decided on which way I was leaning. James the husband had messed up, sure he did, a pretty big screw up too, but sometimes some things do need to be forgiven. Liam has given her some hot sex, shown her that she is still a desirable woman but he is holding on to some deep secrets and participating in some sneaky business decisions. James/Liam/James/Liam well time will tell.
I hate when reviews give away important parts of the story, like perhaps the answer to this question. I will tell you that there were some twists and turns that I did not see coming. Both men have very good points that favour them, and of course some that may lead Laurie away from them. It is important to note that Laurie does grow as a person and I think she looks inside herself to find what is important to her.
The author does a great job in this second segment to the story and by the end all the questions will be answered and Laurie does get her happy ever after. I thought the characters were very well fleshed out and I was cry and wringing my hands along with Laurie on a few occasions.
I would rate these two books 5/5 and would definitely read more by this author.
Embrace, book two in the Affair series by S Layne, follows Laurie as she returns home to her broken life. Her marriage is torn by the affair her husband James had and now she is betrayed by the sell of her company and the reality that the man she just slept with, is now her boss.
But her life is about to get even more complicated as her mother suffers a heart attack and her father has just bought out the company she works for. Everything she ever believed in has fallen apart. Her marriage, her work and her independence are gone.
To get it back, Laurie must decide what is important for her. Her marriage and her career, but on her terms. She has to fight to get it back, against even herself.
Embrace does not let itself it get constrained by being a erotic novel. It is not a romance but a novel of growth and self reliance by Laurie as she fights to get back the life she loves. Even fighting with herself. Her doubts and desires. She does not always win these battles but she never gives up.
Arc received for honest review. I am going to do my best to keep this review as spoiler free as possible, so here goes.
Embrace is the second book In The Affair Series, it is not a stand alone so you should definitely read the first book Entice before reading this.
Embrace picks up where Entice left off, Laurie is heart broken again by a man she can't trust. With Liam keeping things from her she feels betrayed again by a man that she has feelings for.
When her Mom has a heart attack, her father sends her soon to be ex husband James to drive her on the two hour trip where her parents live. As her mom heals and Laurie and James spend time together, she begins to open up to the possibility to reconciling with her ex.
With two men who have betrayed her, can she move on with either of them? Can she learn to forgive?
I absolutely love Stacey's books, the writing is always fantastic and the story's always leave you wanting more from her. This series is no exception. It may not have ended the way I wanted but it was still a great book! Can't wait for the next one.
Book two in the series brings a conclusion to the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and got entwined with the characters and their lives, the second book is on a different level, we delve into their minds and quite literally bodies! Where I thought book one was hot this one is off the scale!
Laurie, James and Liam are the love triangle that was so prolific in book one, this quickly evaporates so we're left with a forgive and forget story. I understand why this has to happen but what happens to Liam, he's a fantastic character, there is so much more to him, he's deep and dangerous and I need to know more.
Overall I've really loved both of these books, they're brilliantly written, easy to follow but still interesting storyline and absolutely AMAZING sex!!
I rarely leave reviews and Ive never left a negative 1 but i just had to with this book. I read the end by mistake and I was so dissatisfied that I skipped through the rest of the book. I have never ever been as disappointed in a book in my entire life and I read all the time. She chose the wrong guy, I dont think I've ever felt like this. I'm wary reading more from this author when I just founded her and have found the books I read so awesome. I hope this book was a learning curve and that it never happens again. I literally felt sick with disappointment.

In Entice, (Tangled Love #1) Laurie finds out about her husband's affair and while at a conference, meets and starts her own affair with Liam. Liam is not all he appears and at the end of Entice, brings Laurie's world to a crashing halt.
Embrace (Tangled #2) opens with Laurie still trying to get her feet back under her. Her husband, James, has come back and wants to fight for the woman he married and loves. He is contrite and willing to do what it takes to get her back. Liam, while not wanting a commitment, wants to keep Laurie. Laurie herself is torn between the two men in her life; the one that offers steamy nights and no expectations and the one who she thought she would spend the rest of her life with.
This is a story about what it takes to get past betrayal and move on with your life. Is it forgiveness or walking away? How much love does it take to make a marriage and how much work are you willing to put in it? Stacey Lynn took a very difficult situation, one where its hard to make the right choice because they both have their advantages and pitfalls, and spun it a real and poignant way. There will be many who reads this that disagrees with the choices Laurie makes, but she makes very true to her heart choices.
This is a good read, even for those who may not normally read books with cheating. The story is written with heart and with the difficult situations laid out, the hard decisions carefully decided. You have to read Entice first as this is a conclusion to the story and skipping book 1 will make parts confusing.
A love triangle with a heroine happily ever after.
