"You're still my girl, right?"

SQUEEEEEEEEE!! I adored this book!! It was so different than I was expecting and took me by surprise in the best of ways with an amazing twist that absolutely made the book for me!! Truly, a gorgeous, heart-melting love story!

Without giving anything away, I'll just give you a little intro to the story...

"You made me the luckiest man in the world... that is, until you were ripped from my hands so brutally. Those promises I had sworn by were taken from me, and I was never even able to tell you I'm sorry. I never meant for it to be this way. I never wanted to break my promises. They forced me to."

Lane Parker has a secret. One that he has only ever told a few people. He is desperately searching for his girl. Year after year, dead end after dead end, getting more and more desperate but never giving up hope and willing to go to any lengths to get back the girl he'd lost.

Then one day, after four long years, he finally gets the call he's been waiting for and a chance to fix all his broken promises.

Aaaaaand... that's all I'm going to tell you.

Yes, I know it's super vague and I pretty much haven't told you anything really but it's the best way! The big twist that I'm not mentioning is central to the storyline but it's totally worth it to just let the story unfold as you read it so please please pleeeeeease trust me and try the book out because it really is amazing!!! The twist is wonderful and the prologue will hook you right in!

There really isn't too much I can talk about because I don't want to spoil anything... but I can say that these characters were just fantastic! They'd been put in one of the most difficult situations you can imagine but I loved that I could always respect the decisions they made. This story was genuinely about them trying their best to make things work. Their situation was anything but normal but I loved that they just went down the crazy path life put them on and made the best of it.

"This is crazy. This isn't normal…"

"Hate to break it to you, but nothing about this situation has been normal. Let's roll with the punches because I'm damn sure I've never been this happy."

This is truly the kind of story I most love to read.

The deep and beautiful emotions that this story evoked really grabbed my heart! The family and friend dynamics were just brilliant and had me smiling for pages and pages on end. But the best part of all was the way the whole story came full circle. My heart was just overflowing with happiness.

We're told the story in dual POV so we get to see both sides of what is going on. I really love this author's writing style. She has a way of drawing your right into the story and keeping you glued to every word. I felt fully invested in this story. Some scenes had me laughing out loud while others had me crying happy tears because I genuinely cared about these characters ♥

"Every day I wish I had found you sooner so I could love you longer."

Beautiful Broken Promises was amazing from start to finish! If you love books with kind, loving, and fiercely protective heroes, courageous heroines, deep emotions, and stories that will surprise you in the best of ways, then this is absolutely one you should read. This wasn't just a romance, it was about family and friendship too. It was about the bonds of people willing to go to the ends of the earth to help each other, save each other, and be together. The ultimate heart-warming experience.

I can't recommend it highly enough! It's definitely one of my favorites of the year!

Rating: 4.5+ stars!! Standalone Adult romance.

Every day you stay gone
I die a thousand more deaths...
So, I don’t give up and I won’t let them win
I will find you and I will make sure that you know
We aren't over.

PS: You do not have to read any other books before starting this one even though it’s technically the third book in this series. I’ve read the first book but haven’t read the second and I was totally find. The characters from the first two books do appear in this but even if you’ve never met them before, you’ll have no problem understanding everything.

Every day you stay gone
I die a thousand deaths.

Kimberly Lauren really outdid herself with Beautiful Broken Promises. It is much different from her first two books (especially the first half), but that twist, that secret Lane has been carrying, hiding from everyone he knows and loves is something I never saw coming. My review will be as vague as possible, because I think going into this story blind is the best way to go. That first 10-15% held such impact for me, and if I knew what was going on, I don’t think I would have enjoyed the book as much.
I will find you and I will make sure that you know you’re my everything.

Lane Parker’s life hasn’t been easy the last few years. Sure, he’s had his best friend Audrey, who he loves and adores, and he has family, but something has always been missing. And until he finds that something, he’ll never feel complete. Lane was one of my favorite characters in Audrey and Jace’s book. I adored him. But I never felt like I really knew him, never knew his story. Now I do.

Lane is fiercely protective of those he loves. He’s devoted, kind, sexy and definitely an alpha male. He’s a little bit broken, but watching him heal is a beautiful thing. I don’t want to say much about the heroine, but she will win you over. She is so so strong and courageous. Determined, stubborn and completely lovable.

description

When I first started reading, I had no clue what direction this story would take. The few guesses I had were completely off. There is nothing better than a storyline that can surprise you. I loved the dual pov. This is the type of story that you really need both sides to make it feel complete. This author’s writing style is fluid and smooth. She has a way of making you fall in love with her characters and tells their story flawlessly. I felt so much while reading this book. You all know I love a book that gives me all kinds of feels. The tears were flowing, but I smiled until it hurt at times as well.

Getting all the pieces and watching them click together was awesome. Even up till the very end when you got the last heart wrenching puzzle piece. There is a and no cliffhanger. Beautiful Broken Promises can be read as a stand-alone, but you’re going to want to read the first two books if you haven’t already. You won’t want to miss out on Jaxon and Jace! This was a beautiful story of strength, perseverance and love, and one I would highly recommend!

He helped ease the pain caused by the horrible events of our past. Together, we had come to terms with the hand we’d been dealt and maybe even become thankful for fate- as twisted as that bitch could be. But we both had finally been given a hand worth fighting to possess, and how could anyone be grateful for that?

3.5--Different--Stars!!!

This one definitely went a different direction then the rest of the books in the series. And I honestly I didn't mind the direction. But if I'm being completely honest, most of the book...

I don't know why, but I just couldn't get in to this one. Not sure what was missing for me.

We met Lane in Broken #2, and he was definitely an intriguing character and I was definitely shocked to see what he was hiding and what happened to him in his past.

I just didn't really buy in to the insta-love connection between Lane and Raegan.

I can't say too much without giving anything away, but based on the circumstances of their past and the events leading up to Raegan and Lane seeing each other again it just didn't work for me.

Once Raegan and Lane get together, honestly not much happened....other than them having sex over and over and over again ...which normally I am not one to complain about.

But hot or not, I was even skimming the sex.

Not much else happened in the book. I ended up skimming the last half because of that.

I suppose it was nice to see the rest of the gang. I don't know...maybe it's just me.

Seems everyone else loved this one. So...if you're a fan of the series, then I definitely recommend giving this one a go.

Beautiful Broken Promises is very different then the other books in the series. The “gang” has graduated college and are all back in Texas. The book starts out like the other books, Lane is having a drunken one night stand when he receives a sketchy sounding phone call that he needs to leave.

This is the point I go back and read the blurb…so Lane has a secret.

I had a lot of theories when I was reading this and I didn’t end up guessing this one. I love being surprised in a book, and I really, really loved this surprise.

I knew Lane was protective from his relationship with Audrey in Beautiful Broken Mess, but I had no idea how much I could love Lane. Lane is intelligent, loving, devoted, sexy as sin, and driven. I really couldn’t love him more.

Lane’s love interest, Reagan, is awesome. She was strong, determined, protective and exactly what Lane needs.

Beautiful Broken Promises is a story about regret, the effects of blaming yourself, and what happens when you are able to move on.

I have enjoyed this series and while this can be read as a standalone I do recommend reading the other books, too.

The mood of the book is far too light in relation to the story, and it bugs me...

There's a lot of smut, absolutely everyone is godly attractive, but I just found the storyline plain boring.. Might fit better for someone who likes smutty books with a bit older characters who are also concerned with children.

I love this book. I love this series. I love this author.

I really felt like we, the readers, got to see Kimberly Lauren grow with this series. Every book released got a little bit better than the one before it. You all know how much I loved Beautiful Broken Mess, so you can only imagine how much I love this one. Her writing has improved greatly since Beautiful Broken Rules - creatively and structurally. It was awesome to see her growth. While I am sad that this series has come to an end, I am so pleased with the ending that I have come to terms with it. I will move on...

Lane has had this mysterious air about him since we got introduced to him in book two. All we knew was that: 1.) He's hot. 2.) He is estranged from his family. 3.) He sometimes disappears for certain amounts of time, but nobody knows where he goes. I'm pretty sure that all of us loved Lane, but we could all agree that his evasiveness was unsettling. We needed answers! And of course, Lauren delivered.

When Lane gets reunited with Raegan, he turns cold - frigid cold. That peeked my interest even more because Lane has been this big teddy bear for Audrey. As the puzzle pieces slowly start to come together, we get to see why he felt that way. His perception of Raegan wasn't a nice one and she knew it. Raegan wouldn't let him stop her from doing what she had been doing for the past four years. She knew that Lane didn't know the whole story and might not ever understand why she did that. For her, there were only two reasons for everything she did. Raegan wasn't sure if she could claim the other reason any longer and it broke her heart. Lane held a big part of her world in his arms now, and she wasn't sure if she would ever get it back.

Because this book has some twisty turns, I really can't go into any more detail. Trust me, it hurts not to be able to tell you about some of my favorite parts of this book. Just know that I highly recommend it - especially if you like enemies to lovers stories.

5 ‘Beautiful Broken’ Stars

“Beautiful Broken Promises” is the third book in the “Broken” series by Kimberly Lauren. As all the other books, this is one is unique, interesting and sexy. The first one (Beautiful Broken Rules) will always be my favourite but I swear…everything Kimberly writes…is absolutely amazing!

“We make promises to the people we love because we want them to feel our loyalty, or maybe it’s a way to hold ourselves responsible. We want them to know how much they mean to us and even if it seems impossible, we make these sometimes preposterous vows because maybe…just maybe…we actually believe it’s possible to keep them.”

Sometimes it is really easy to make a promise. And sometimes it’s not up to you to keep it. Lane had made many promises in the past. He believes he broke them all. But the truth is someone was taken from him four years ago and he is ready to do anything to bring this person back in his life. I don’t want to get into much detail because I don’t want to spoil it for you. The story is really unique. There are mysteries, twists, passion, love and one seriously hot male who will do and risk everything for the people he loves.

♥I loved Lane. ♥ He is sooooo charming and fun. His POVs were an absolutely delight to read. Even though his life is more than complicated and he is struggling with his reality…he somehow manages to stay positive and to find moments to act immature!

“My inner caveman was banging the shit out of his chest at the sight for her desire for me.”

The heroine…well she is amazing too! This girl is so strong!!!! I really admired her willpower and there wasn’t a moment in the book when I didn’t like her!

I loved the story…the writing style is perfect! I also loved all the characters! I definitely recommend it!

"You know I thought when I truly fell in love that my mind would only think about that girl and there wouldn't be anything else. But that's not how it works at all. Everything around you becomes important because all of those things could potentially take you from me."

This book was an unexpected yet wonderful surprise! I read Kimberly Lauren's Beautiful Broken Rules a while back and fell in love with it, leading me to read anything that woman writes.

The plot. Well, I can't tell you. Honestly. This book is much better for the reader because at about 13% the author throws the reader a big one! I mean, I was really not expecting that. I feel like I should've seen it, but I didn't. Anyways, this book is about Lane, the best friend of Audrey from book 2 Beautiful Broken Mess (which is also wonderful). Lane has a secret he's been keeping for years, and everything is about to come clean. That's all I'm going to tell ya because I'm evil like that.

Lane was always a mystery in Mess, so it was great to get some background information on him. I loved watching him grow and develop as a character in this book. The heroine, who shall remain unnamed, went through some crazy shit and I admire her for how she handled everything she went through.

Overall I was enthralled with the first half of the book much more than the second half which is why the rating is 3.75 stars. I felt there was a little too much instalove in this and a slow burn like the other books would have been preferable.

Technically this book can be read as a standalone but considering it has characters from the other two books in it, I highly recommend reading those first. The reader gains much more from the story this way.

I loved Lane from the moment he was introduced in the 2nd book. Finally reading & understanding his story just made me love him more. I love all the boys but I gotta say Lane definitely won the spot for #1 in my heart. There were so many elements & truths can out. I love when kids are in involved so that made the story more fun. I want to thank Kimberly Lauren for creating these characters & introducing them into my life. I'm hoping for another book/novella about their vacation & maybe something into the future. I would love to read about all the babies these gorgeous characters had lol. So I recommend this book 100% & if you do decide to read this series it's important to start with book 1.
OMG I CANNOT WAIT FOR LANE'S STORY EEK!!! THE WAIT WILL KILL ME THOUGH ASDFGHJKL.

5 ++++++++++++++++ STARS

I will have to keep this review short, because I want this to be a SPOILER FREE REVIEW.

This is what I have to say. I’m a fan of the series, but what I love most about this series is how different each book is.

Beautiful Broken Promises is a little darker and so deliciously yummy. I gobbled up the pages and read it in one sitting.

You do not have to read the series in order to understand, but if you are like me, I always like to start with the first book first.

The Hero

He’s tortured, damaged and VERY SEXY. You feel for him, you will want to be with him and I just couldn’t get enough. He’s on a mission to get his girl and he does whatever it takes to get her back, even if that means quitting his job and becoming an underground ring fighter.

The Heroine

You know I’m a sucker for a damsel in distress. She’s a damsel, she’s been hurt and she’s trying to move forward, but she’s no mouse. This Heroine is strong, loyal and very fierce. It’s not an annoying in-your-face fierce, but just a girl trying to make it through her day and survive.

Overall

The chemistry between the Hero and Heroine is intense and I love the banter. Yes, there’s sexual tension, yes there’s fights and yes it’s good.

Both the Hero and Heroine have past issues, but what makes the read so good is that their issues are linked and you want them to both work it out and just move forward. The whole story isn’t about fight or boxing, but just two hurt souls trying to heal.

I loved this read so much. I was hooked from page one. I’m so amazed that the author just went in a new direction from her series and it WORKED. I’m a major fan and I’m gushing with joy.

Lane is keeping a secret from his closest friends, a past that he has not given up on - a promise he isn't willing to break. When he gets the call in the middle of the night that a new chance has come up, nothing would keep him away. He knows that he must find him, if he ever has hope of finding her.

"The moment I first laid eyes on you, my soul knew you and smiled as if he had been waiting for you all this time."

This is where this review is going to get a bit complicated. You see, there's a twist. A twist that pretty much is exposed early in the story, but by saying too much about what comes after it... well, that would just ruin it.

This is a go-in-blind-and-enjoy-the-ride read.

Screenshot_2

Lane's story is much more different than what we got with Jax & Jace's books. A little darker and intense due to some of the situations and the story line. But it was the same writing that I loved from her two prior books in the series. The characters were so well written, every single one of them. And Lane, yeah that guy. Well he kind of stole my heart along the way.

It was refreshing to have a very strong heroine. Autumn was tough as nails and not willing to back down when push came to shove. Lane was balanced between this strong alpha and a vulnerable broken mess of a man.

Kimberly Lauren is one of those authors that I adore. One that I constantly have to check to see if she has something new for us because I can't get enough of her writing. Usually with this genre of Romance we find ourselves with a good story and hot guy and the rest just exists. I love that this series not only gives good story and hot guys, but it gives you heroines that you can relate to, that you like and ones that you'd want as friends if they were real.

I've grown kind numb to stories where the heroine is lacking and reading this just reminds me that there are authors out there that are willing to give their characters strength and a backbone. This series is a must read, hands down.

I am keeping this review vague as to give anything away would just ruin the mystery of Lane Parker... but his tale is very different from the previous two books. This is a much more heartfelt tale, but Kimberly Lauren has totally upped the steam factor in this touching read.

So as Lane Parker has his tale...

I will admit he has intrigued me since his presence in Audrey's life. He has always been so protective, so good hearted, and yet so distant. From his moody ways to his disappearing acts, I had not clue his tale would be so dramatic.

He had a life...so different from his the college co-eds tales. A law enforcer with a wife and child. One day here, next day gone! How do you cope with the loss of your family? Who do you blame? What happens every day and night to your missing heart?

Lane Parker never gives up hope that he can heal. He moves heaven and earth to find peace and bring home the lost part of his soul. The one person he has directed his anger toward is the one person to bring him back his life.

Now it is time to move on...only now there is so much more at stake, so much more to embrace. Lane just wanted to find one ray of light...but instead he ended up with the sun and all its beams!

I know this does not really give a summary, but I cannot say much without giving away the tale! I will say that Lane is a beautiful man with a big heart! He has a soft side and very domineering manner. He knows what he wants and he is not afraid to mark his territory. I also love the fact that the heroine in this book is all in...and she knows a good thing when she sees it...Lane Parker is hers and she has no problem taking it!!! I really enjoyed this even though it was nothing like I expected!!!

This was a great series and Lane’s book is is my favourite of the three.

We get to know where Lane went when he had to go out of town and why. We find out why he was no longer a police officer and see a side of Lane that was never shown in the previous book. Lane was such a gentle giant to the people he loved but the complete opposite when he needed to protect them.

It was an absolute page turner for me with a unique story line and the cherry on top - the whole gang that we met and I loved from the previous 2 books were part of the story.

It can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading the series in order,

Really enjoyed Lane's story in this series. For me, it was as good as the first two books but still a great read. Told from both Lane and Raegan's points of view, readers get a very different story from Kimberly Lauren. It goes outside of the box of this series in a big way and delivers nicely.

I was excited for Lanes story and wondered what it could be about - but I didn' see this coming. Not at all what I expected, something totally new to me, full of deep emotions. I loved it!
4,5 Stars

Lane secret is that he lost everything. But he never stopped fighting to get it back. After four long years of desperate search for his girl he finds himself back in New York City, where he once was a cop, where his nightmare started and where he now gets the chance to fix broken promises...

Lane, Audreys best friend, the devoted, protective and super-hot teddy of man was slightly mysterious in the previous book but as his motive never was mentioned, not even hinted, I never would have expected how he's looking for a girl named Kate.

And when he found her this story took a strange turn but it quickly went into the right direction again and he was swoon-worthy all through it. He's awesome with Kate and watching him slowly heal was such a great journey.

Reagan was the strongest heroine and survived the hardest time, fighting for what's most important. And I loved how she and Lane saved eachother. I did think their attraction kinda came out of nowhere, especially given the circumstances but as the story progresses you really get it. They're working out their issues, talk and figure things out, there's tension and fights and chemistry. They just work.

All in all the romance was predictable but the story did bring some surprises. Good ones and then the really ugly stuff. I mean, Adam showing up, spilling what really happened was kinda random but it's sick!

I missed the group of friends for a great part of the book but having them together in the end made up for that and Lane taking a 4-year-old on a date, to show her how she has to be treated by men and to never settle for less is everything!

4.5 beautifully broken but swoontastic stars

This is a very special book, and takes a really different direction from the earlier books in the Broken series, bringing us the story of Lane *clutches heart*.

Lane was introduced in the last book, Beautiful Broken Mess, and I loved him instantly. As the best friend / big brother figure to Audrey, he proved himself to be strong, loving and incredibly protective. He also had a bit of the mystery thing going on where he would disappear for a week at a time only to return quiet, broody and not himself. Well, this book starts with his POV, and gets right to the heart of the big secret, and it. is. POWERFUL!

I could never fathom a time in my life that I wouldn’t love you. The moment I first laid eyes on you, my soul knew you and smiled as if he had been waiting for you all this time.

The way it’s written is beautifully emotive, and had me flipping pages madly and I sat there reading with a pounding heart and tears in my eyes as it all unfolds. Amazing stuff!

There’s practically nothing that I can say that won’t be a spoiler, and I think it’s best if you just dive right into this without any preconceptions or ideas about the storyline, and just experience it as it all unfolds.

I will say that there is an absolutely incredible love story. Lane and his heroine have a twisted history, but the way they come together is beautiful. As I have come to expect from this author, there is a strong background for both of them, and a lot that they have to work through, but the way they do it is fantastic.

“You claiming me?” The words were practically a growl and I realized our lips were now inches apart.
“Are you saying you’re claimable?” she murmured.
“Depends on the girl…”
“I thought it was just sex.”
“Those were your words, babe. Not mine.”

I already knew that Lane is all kinds of awesome, but he stepped it up in this one with a fantastic mix of badassery and tenderness. I could understand his emotion in the situation, and my heart broke for him! I thought his reactions were all realistic and believable, but the way he goes that extra step to be there for his girl and help her through all that she is going through, even though he is also going through his own stuff, is gorgeous. And holy hell, the man is swoooooony!

“I love you. I love you so much that sometimes I feel as if it’s never enough. I’ll always want more of you. Every day I wish I had found you sooner so I could love you longer.”

And the heroine – O.M.G. She is INCREDIBLE! So strong, so together, and absolutely no nonsense. I love how she just puts herself out there. She doesn’t take any shit or sit and wallow in angst. If something is bothering her or worrying her, she just comes right out with it! She is open about what she’s feeling, telling Lane when she needs him, and her protectiveness of those she loves is phenomenal. I absolutely loved her!

“What I don’t want is to hear you make excuses for this attraction between us. What I do want is to feel you,” I stated firmly.

These two are perfect together. The relationship is fast moving, but the intensity of their circumstances plays a part in that. And the lack of stupid between them also means that things progress pretty quickly. The hotness (OMG, the hotness!!!), the swoon, the every day stuff – I loved all of it. And even though their situation was far from normal, it was all so easy between them!

“You and me, we work, babe. Simple as that.”

There are a whole lot of different relationship dynamics going on in this book, and Kimberly Lauren does an amazing job at portraying each of them. I could feel the emotion between the characters, I loved the way they were all there for each other, and I loved their interactions – they made me laugh, they made me cry, but each of them had me clutching my heart at the emotion of it all . It was absolutely beautiful.

The characters from the other books in the series are all present in the story, and once again, we get some fantastic time with them. Lane and Audrey’s relationship is incredibly special, and seeing it from Lane’s perspective was gorgeous. There is more story progression for each of the couples, with Jax providing a moment of EPIC swoon. And of course the scenes with the group together as a whole were gold and provided some fantastically light-hearted moments.

“We’re out.” …
A round of groans passed from my new group of friends, and I smiled that they were actually disappointed we were retiring. I waved to the girls. “Don’t leave!” a few called out.
“My girl needs sex. I deliver,” Lane said unabashedly. He looked at the guys, quirking his eyebrow in question. “What would you do?”
All three of them, Jax, Jace, and Cole, proceeded to point toward the exit.

This book is advertised as a standalone, and while it is very possible to read this book without having read the first two books of the series, I would recommend reading them in order so that each character is introduced properly, and the dynamics are all well developed before you go into this one. You’ll be able to follow the story easily enough without having read them, I just think it adds more to the story, but of course that’s just my opinion.

I absolutely loved this one. It’s a beautiful story of family – both true family, and the family that you make for yourself – and it left me feeling all warm and fluffy, clutching my kindle to my chest with a big smile on my face.

4.5 stars.

A powerful third installment to the "Broken" series as Lane Parker finally is unveiled completely. This guy has definitely been holding secrets close to his vest that I wasn't expecting, but found to be a very wonderful surprise and an entertaining and suspenseful read. From the first time Lane stepped onto the pages, I knew there was so much more to him. Well, he didn't disappoint. At one point, I had it all figured out -- but I was so wrong and I'll gladly own up to it. The story was so much more and added such great new characters to the series. Catching up with all the gang was an extra delight as well. These books have introduced some great characters, witty dialogue and special storylines.

Yeah, "Beautiful Broken Promises" will break your heart before some special people piece it back together again! I love a happy ending -- especially when it's so well-deserved.

I have been a huge fan of Kimberly Lauren’s Beautiful Broken series since the very first book, Beautifully Broken Rules. The second book, Beautiful Broken Mess, was hands down my favorite. I loved Jace Riley and his very complicated love for Audrey. But the scene stealer in that book was Lane Parker for sure. Audrey’s BFF and protector in the years she spent between the Riley twins, Lane was charismatic, sexy as hell, funny, and was most definitely the guy you wanted on your side (and in your bed, thanks to the Greek God description we got when we first met him).

You got the feeling he was hiding something, and it was something big. I could NOT wait for his story. I don't want to give anything away, but Lane has been secretly searching and fighting to get someone back that was taken away from him. The entire gang, including Audrey, had no idea Lane dealt with heartbreak every day of his life.

Once this person comes back in his life, Lane realizes that he can’t take his eyes off this beautiful woman who he has been blaming for his loss all these years. Raegan also feels a strong pull towards Lane, and the more time they all spend together, the more attached they become. I felt this connection came on a bit too quick, especially after what they all they had just went through. I’m sure Lane would turn a woman’s head no matter what condition she was in, but the considering the dark turn Lane’s story took compared to the previous books in the series, I think the mere fact that they noticed each other so quickly after such a traumatic event seemed somewhat unrealistic.

The last half of the book, the story really takes off. Lane loves Raegan like the fierce and protective lover I knew he would be, and their story is hot. I mean really, really HOT. Their romance is most definitely not the sweet college romances the Riley boys had, and some of their scenes had me squirming in my seat. Once all the drama and angst all come to a head, I had no idea where they would end up, and I worried about the sweet, although uncertain, little life they had come to create.

The best scenes in the book are with the old gang, and I still wish I was part of the Riley Brothers’ group of friends, for more reasons other than the obvious eye candy the Rileys and Cole provide. Emerson is still the crazy and loving girl you wish was your best friend, and it’s nice to see Audrey move on from her past and be truly happy with Jace and embrace her maternal side. After learning about Lane’s past, I can understand why he took great pains to always take care of Audrey – he was redeeming himself for not being there when he was needed the most all those years ago.

This isn’t exactly what I thought Lane’s story would be. These kids are all past college years and I think Lane’s story was meant to move readers on to heavier subjects. I missed the playful and cool Lane that we came to love in Beautiful Broken Rules, and while I enjoyed seeing the gritty side of him, I wanted more of the romance that we got in the second half. I think that is the core of why fans of this series love it the way they do, and being a little selfish, I was left wanting more.

5+ "holy Lane guy wrenching" stars!!!!

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

This book seriously hit everything you can want in a book. Ms Lauren's books keep getting better and better. She hit this story out of the freaking park!!

I could NOT put Lane and Reagan's story down! I just kept reading and reading! It was awesome! This had the story line, great writing, HOT scenes and gut wrenching throws in there that will bring you to tears.

You got the whole gang back, plus a few more and it couldn't have been better! Kate and Braden were the PERFECT additions to make this story just right! Reagan was a strong independent funny lead, that was a perfect match for Lane. What she went through was something not everyone can. God, this story was so intense and believable and real.

Everything I have read from this author has been a solid 5+ stars and I would recommend her to anyone!! Her writing and stories capture you! :)

Lane me encantó.

I loved the first book in Kimberly Lauren’s Broken Series; in fact, it was one of my top reads of 2013. When book 2 came out, I bought it and had every intention of reading it, but time just got away from me. When Kimberly put the message out to bloggers about reading and reviewing book three, Beautiful Broken Promises, for release day, I jumped at the chance, and I’m so glad I did. Lane’s story is the best in the series, which is a huge thing for me to say since I adored Beautiful Broken Rules. It is so different from the first book; the characters are no longer in college and the challenges they face are more intense. It’s an emotional read that had me at the Prologue and didn’t let me go until I was finished. It is one of my favorites of 2014!

Readers met Lane Parker as Audrey’s best friend in Beautiful Broken Mess, but not much is known about him since he’s a secondary character. When Beautiful Broken Promises begins, readers are given a clearer picture of this broken man, and it’s quite different from the one all of his friends believe him to be. The man who appears to have it all together is secretly dying inside, searching for something that’s been missing for years. No one truly knows what he’s been through and continues to endure, but when they do find out, both readers and his friends will truly understand what has made Lane the man he is.

This is a difficult review to write because so much of the story revolves around Lane’s secret, and I don’t want to say what it is because it’s something that needs to be experienced while reading. What I can say is that learning what happened to Lane all those years ago and watching the truth slowly unravel as each new clue is revealed makes for one hell of a read.

I love Lane. He’s definitely an alpha male. He protects what’s his at all costs, which is why the last four years have been hell for him. He made promises that he believes he went back on, and he won’t stop until he can rectify his mistakes. Lane’s life changes dramatically as the story progresses, and Kimberly does a fantastic job of illustrating his growth and healing. The heroine, Rae, is absolutely fantastic. There is not one thing about her that will turn readers off. She’s loyal, compassionate, and strong. What she sacrifices to protect those she loves will blow readers away. She’s perfectly written because it would take the kind of person she is to get past all that she endures.

Beautiful Broken Promises is an amazing book that all romance readers HAVE TO experience. It has the perfect blend of suspense, drama, and steam. Because it’s told in dual point of views, all aspects of the story are revealed. Both Lane and Rae come at the story’s complications from different sides, so it’s important to understand what’s going through both of their minds as the puzzle pieces start falling into place.

Lane and Rae’s story is one of perseverance and redemption, and I highly recommend it!

With a love for the other books in this series and their characters, I knew I had to read Lane's story. I went into Beautiful Broken Promises basically blind due to the vagueness of the synopsis, and I now know WHY the synopsis is so vague and am so happy it is. I wouldn't have missed the shock of what awaited me for anything. Everyone should go into this story blindly to experience the intensified twist in Lane's story.

If you've read Beautiful Broken Mess, then you've met Lane, Audrey's best friend. I desperately wanted his book because I fell in love with Lane's wit, laid back attitude, and devotion to Audrey. He still had a mystery surrounding his character, but that mystery is revealed in this book. This book will introduce you to a completely different side of Lane, the man with deep secrets he has kept hidden for years, secrets that left him broken and searching for something that was taken from him. Only Jace knows his secrets, and that is only due to Lane's need to share with someone he trusts and the need to take time away from his job at a moment's notice.

Lane feels guilty over things that happened in his past. He can't seem to shed the disgrace he feels for fate's cruel irony in his life. He is fierce, yet kind and gentle. He works hard to maintain control of the savage within him. Lane is a determined and scorned man with a purpose to right a wrong that was done to him. His past has molded him into a protective alpha that will collide with any threat to his happiness.

Reagan is TNT in a small package. She is courageous, resilient, and bold, approaching everything head on with careful thought and haste. She is everything a heroine should be, and her character is equivalent on the alpha scale to Lane's. Together, these two characters complement each other and work so well together. They aren't without their problems, but I found myself really wanting them to work.

Told in both Lane's and Reagan's viewpoints, this book will take you from extreme tenseness to sweet smiles to grins that will make your cheeks hurt. Our favorite characters from the first two books in the series are back as the much-needed support for Lane, and the author gives us an account of just how their lives have progressed. There are a few new characters added in this novel that will melt your heart, but they are for you to discover yourself.

The prologue is filled with suspense and intensity, exposing Lane's secrets to the reader and setting the mood for the novel. The tone of this installment is very different from the previous books in the series. It is not a dark novel, but it does have a raw edge and heightened dynamics in the beginning. Beautiful Broken Promises can easily be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the other books first due to the developments in the lives of the characters from the first two books.

Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
