USA Today Bestselling author Felicia Tatum was born and raised in Tennessee. She always loved reading, and at the age of twelve began writing. Her passion for creating stories grew and in May 2012, she finally wrote her first novel, The White Aura.
She still lives in Tennessee with her daughter and her kitty. She loves cooking, books, and animals are some of her best friends. She watches a lot of Disney channel and often dreams up new book ideas. She's currently working on various projects. She's the author of the White Aura series, Scarred Hearts series, and Intoxicating Passion series.
I cried my heart out in Mangled Hearts. Felicia Tatum sure played with my heart strings, with Francesca & Cade's emotional story of love, addiction, acceptance, hope forgiveness and taking chances. I sure found myself hoping for their happy ever after after reading this.
With Bound Souls, Francesca's bestfriend, Daphne was pregnant with Zander. With a baby along the way, their relationship is taken to new heights and more complications. I am impressed with the character development and seamless plot that made Bound Souls more endearing to read. This is a highly recommended must-read to all who have loved and failed, to all who still continue loving, and to all who longs to find their one true love.
Mangled Hearts: I am not typically a reader of contemporary romance. Very few authors are capable of creating dimensional, believable characters in a romantic setting. But I loved Tatum's White Aura series, so I picked this up.
Wow! What a story! Tatum manages to take two clichés- the independent young female lawyer, and the struggling bad boy - and give them incredible dimension. Francesca is a very real character, and you can actually feel her torment. Cade has his reasons for who he is, but is constantly struggling with himself. He makes selfish decisions that you can actually pity him for, and cheer for him all at once.
Most importantly, though, Tatum takes a very sensitive and realistic approach at alcoholism. Most of us (including me) know someone who has struggled with it at some point. She did not attempt to glamorize or glorify it. Cade's life was littered with problems his addiction had caused. The parent who enables through love. The other parent who turns away with tough love. It was very well done.
Finally, Tatum's writing just gets better and better with each book. Can't wait for the next one!
Entangled Souls: Entangled Souls is a wonderful conclusion to the story of Francesca and Cade.
Their relationship started with challenges, and continues with them, but that does not deter them. I like that Tatum is able to give these two a happily ever after that makes sense, while not ignoring the very real challenges. Her handling especially of Cade's alcoholism has been solid. Rather than making it a plot gimmick, it is handled with sensitivity, and all the objections from the people around them are realistic. Nonetheless, as a reader you are happy to see them grow together, and to see Cade put his life together, through the support of those around him. A satisfying way to end their story. Ready for Daphne and Zander!
Anxious Hearts: Anxious Hearts gives us a glimpse into our next two scarred hearts, Daphne and Zander. Both characters had parts earlier in the series, but here we get to understand both of them in a much more fundamental way. Daphne, especially is a very clear and vivid character, and Tatum characterizes her depression very well. But Daphen doesn't lay in bed wallowing, she manifests hers in self-destructive ways, and one such situation will change her life forever. I think this might be my favorite of the series so far!
Bound Souls: In Anxious Hearts we watched Daphne and Zander stumble their way through life, and eventually, toward one another. I love the backwards nature of their relationship... rather than starting with love and ending with a baby, a baby is what brings them together. But it's more than their shared love for their child. Daphne learns she has more to offer than her body, and Zander finally finds a healthy relationship when he's been surrounded by the opposite all his life. Also, if you're a fan of Tatum's other work, you'll like the clever tie-in with Intoxicating Passions ;) Great conclusion!
These books are amazing and I love them all! Mangled Hearts- This is about Francesca and Cade. Francesca is a lawyer and Cade an alcoholic. This tells the story of the obstacles they face to be together.
Entangled Souls- This is the conclusion to Francesca and Cade's story. They still have lots of battles to work through as the try foe their happy ever after.
I love that Felicia put a lot of realisim into these stories. She could have made Cade into a completely healed peraon and they have a perfect life, but she didn't. She kept the real struggles of alcoholism. In my opinion that is what makes a great author.
Anxious Hearts- This story follows Francescas's best friend Daphne and her struggles with depression. That is until her one night stand when her life changes. Also in the story is Francesca's assistant Zander. He never just randomnly sleeps with someone from the bar, but there is something about this girl and she sticks with him.
Bound Souls- This is a continuation of Daphne and Zander as they decide the best path for them and their child. Daphne struggles with her feelings for Zander and the depression forcing her to be unhappy. Zander is trying to break through Daphne's walls and move into her heart.
Again, I love how Felicia sticks to the realisim of depression.
Please read these books! You won't be disappointed!
