This was my first read by this author and I had no idea it was about a lesbian romance because I hadn't actually read the blurb. I was pleasantly surprised by the plot construction, character development and not necessarily predictable twists. I may read more in the future.

This was a good read. It was sloe in the beginning but eventually pulled me in. I don't feel that it was as strong as part 1 but it definitely answered lingering questions and dished out some great Karma. Good job Renee

I enjoyed the Pursuit of Joi, but this sequel went in a different direction than I expected. I liked reading from Toya's POV, but I wasn't feeling her character at all this time around. Foolish pursuits doesn't even begin to describe the dumb shit she got into. It made the entire book feel a little left field for me and I couldn't get into the dynamics between the characters as much this time around. Still a decent read if you enjoyed Pursuit of Joi, but it doesn't do it justice in my opinion.

In "Foolish Pursuits", I GOT JUST WHAT I HOPED FOR! We finally get the scoop on Toya's past and to relish in the EMOTIONAL aftermath of love, lust, loneliness and vulnerability gone DRAMATICALLY wrong.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Olivia Renee Wallace's talent for bringing a story to life! Her writing style paints a vivid and relatable portrayal of very well developed characters and PULLS OUT ALL THE EMOTIONAL STOPS! While anxiously reading, I cried, laughed, cursed, hoped and HI5'd a character:-) THE GIRL'S GOT TALENT! Although, the editing could've used a finer tooth comb, it doesn't detract from this MUST READ.

Foolish Pursuits

Never have I ever sat down to read a book that I figured to be the standard urban fiction and finish with a whole new mindset. Nothing standard or foolish in this book. Ms. Wallace is new to me but you can best believe she is my new bestie writer. Her characters showed life...petty, loving, messy and completely relatable. Some people never experience the type of relationships that flowed throughout this book, but I guarantee this book is a perfect example of having an HEA if that's what you really want. The road was not easy for her characters but usually life never is.

Saga!!!

Note: Read ‘The Pursuit of Joi’ before this book as they are companion pieces.

I’m ...I’m speechless.

These characters just went through... and I feel like I went through it all with them. She didn’t sugar coat it at all.

Beautifully written epic love story with complex characters that you root for to “get it right”. Icing on the cake, she’s an African American author writing about experience I can relate to as a queer reader of color. I’ve just found you, Olivia, and I selfishly hope that there are more stories. You gave me a wonderful mental escape.

An awesome sequel full of frustration, foolishness & feelings

“The more I think about it, I realize that love has always been my kryptonite…”

This was a great duology about the struggles, success, strife & splendor in the pursuit, passion & pain of love for LaToya, Joi & Anthony—3 people, from bad decisions & even worse behavior, whose lives wouldn't & couldn’t ever be remotely the same again all because of a girls' weekend getaway.

Surreal Roller Coaster

This story was so beautifully written that I felt everything. I felt the excitement of new infatuation, fear of being outta control, the joy of feelings returned, the pain of loss and rejection just to name a few. I felt personally connected to Toya & Joi and the surreal emotional roller coaster they traveled. The writing is Stellar..Bravo !!

Scandalous Triangle

"In Pursuit of Joi" from LaToya's viewpoint. Same story. Different perspective. Goes to show how individuals can experience the exact same events very differently......
The shenanigans between Toya, Joi, and Anthony reminded me of an episode of Maury lol

The sequel to In Pursuit of Joi, gives the readers the background story of Latoya Bradshaw aka Toya. When this character was introduced, she was breaking up with a volatile ex. In this book, she's recuperating from a tragic accident. Her relationship with Joi is over and she's dealing with the backlash from Anthony, Joi's angry ex-husband.

As if that weren't enough, Toya is also suffering from a personal loss. All I could say was, "Thank God for family."

The plot twist in this book nearly took me out, but the ending was simply BEAUTIFUL.

I highly recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎 book by Olivia Renee Wallace.

*Disclaimer* This series includes bi-sexuality.

Patience is a virtue!
This book was a easy read for me. It's about a love story between two women. If you have the willingness to wait on your true love than bravo to you. On the flip side of things it's a lot of scandalous plus deceitful lying ass people in the book. That is way it's a easy read.

Good Book

I didn't particularly care for the situation between Toya and Anthony, it really wasn't necessary. I also would have liked to see more romance between Joi and Toya, but overall it was a good read!
