Orlando Sanchez has been writing ever since his teens when he was immersed in creating scenarios for playing Dungeon and Dragons with his friends every weekend. An avid reader, his influences are too numerous to list here. Some of the most prominent are: J.R.R. Tolkien, Jim Butcher, Kat Richardson, Terry Brooks, Piers Anthony, Lee Child, George Lucas, Andrew Vachss, and Barry Eisler to name a few in no particular order. The worlds of his books are urban settings with a twist of the paranormal lurking just behind the scenes and generous doses of magic, martial arts, and mayhem. Aside from writing, he holds a 2nd and 3rd Dan in two distinct styles of Karate. If not training, he is studying some aspect of the martial arts or martial arts philosophy. He currently resides in Queens, NY with his family and can often be found in the local Starbucks where most of his writing is done. Strong characters and a fast paced storyline. Mr Sanchez rarely dissapoints , if you enjoy a good book full of supernatural fights this series is definitely worth a look
Book 2 was just as good if not better than the first book. I knew that I had to read book 2 after 1. I needed to know what would happen next in this epic series. In this book, Donte is again the star, which I really enjoyed. He has such a leadership quality about him that I find interesting to follow. In this book, Donte is trying to kill off Lucius. His evil is taking over and Donte can't let that happen. I liked the good vs. evil theme in this book. It made the dynamics between the characters really interesting and exciting to follow. I couldn't put this book down either and read it in one setting. It was truly enjoyable and I'm hoping the author continues the series.
This series gets better and better with every page I read! Book 1 had so many twists and turns in it, and book 2 starts you on the path to see how those twists come together! Orlando is a brilliant author! The pace is very fast, and suspenseful! I am really looking forward to seeing how everything turns out! I'm on book 3 now and there 5 in the series. I highly recommend this series!!
I can't wait to read the next installment of this series, it was such a great read and if you are really into the martial arts and their history you will be spell bound!! I would recommend this book to anyone that has an interest in martial arts story.
