Wedding bells are in the air, but single mom Gwynneth Jacobs and Hollywood mega star Gareth Connor are finding that the road to matrimony is anything but smooth. Each thinks they’re doing what’s best for the other, but with everything from the paparazzi to an overzealous wedding planner getting in their way, they may have lost touch with what exactly that is.
With Gwyn developing decidedly cold feet over the whole event, can they reconnect with what’s truly important in time for their upcoming nuptials? Or will they have to face the possibility their lives may just be too different after all?
Lydia M. Hawke is the author of bold urban fantasy for women who know their power. When worlds collide or apocalyptic disaster strikes, Lydia’s mature, magical heroines are more than capable of saving themselves–and the world. Her paranormal women’s fiction novel Becoming Crone has won multiple awards and was featured on Felicia Day’s Felicitations! Book Club Show.
Lydia makes her home in Canada where she spends her free time drinking what some would argue is too much coffee, thoroughly enjoying the grandparenting stage of life, caring for her collection of pets, and tending to her ever-evolving garden.
Her self-appointed mission in life is to reclaim the title of “crone” as a positive thing on behalf of all women of a certain age.
This was a freebie that was available to newsletter subscribers. It picks up shortly after "Gwynneth Ever After". Gwyn and Gareth are planning their wedding and it's not going well. There's a serious lack of communication here people. I wanted to smack both of them. They were trying so hard to please each other but forgot to talk and find out what the other one wanted. Gah!
Celeste the wedding planner was pushy, unobservant, and too concerned about expanding her business to see the unhappy client right in front of her. The solution was a little too pat but it worked. The story was sweet and I sniffled happy tears reading it.
Then, we get one hell of an ending and I was thinking nasty thoughts about the author. :P If you're not a fan of cliffhangers, either skip this book or make sure to have the next one on hand. "Forever After" was sweet, sometimes funny, and a painfully accurate look at planning a wedding.
Gwyn and Gareth were planning their wedding for others and not them. Then something happens that makes Gwyn finally talk to Gareth and not just the I'm fine talk but let it out. Great short story.
4.5 Stars It's a very sweet romantic novella. Gwyn and Gareth are living a blissful life now that they are together. Children love Gareth and he spoils them as much as he can. Gwyn is also very happy except the wedding is starting to get on her nerves. It's everything she doesn't want but is willing to accept because of her fiance. She is hiding her true feelings hoping that soon the wedding will be done with and things can then go back to normal... or will they ever go back to normal? It's a quick read. Book can be read as stand alone story. I quite enjoyed it and would recommend to romance fans. P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
Wedding bells alright. The wedding is fast approaching and Gwyn isn't excited at all for it. She wants to just let everything slide since she just wants Gareth to be happy. She keeps on saying she is fine and then venting to her best friend Sandy about planning the murder of the wedding planner. Its sad because poor Gareth doesn't know what to do. The kids seem super excited and she seems to be okay whenever he asks her about anything. Gareth parents fly in for the wedding and proceed to be one of the best parents to ever be in a book just because how kind and great they are towards Gwyn. They proceed to tell Gareth that Gwyn doesn't want any of this which leads to her admitting that this wedding is too much. Gareth decided that the only thing that matters is marrying Gwyn and having her happy so he calls Carol the assistant wedding planner who was super kind to plan the wedding faster then the other. They then plan an amazing wedding that will take place at the theatre that he started to fall in love with her at because he is just sweet like that. The kids walk down the aisle alongside Gwyn and ask to call Gareth dad after the wedding. Even cuter! In the end they are so cute and are about to head to Jamaica for their honeymoon but Sean was shot at the crime scene had to leave the wedding for! That's how the story ends! Wild ride!
5 stars. I absolutely loved reading Forever After and a big thank you to Linda for giving it free to her fans. This is a must have, I love Gwyn and Gareth and the kids. I hope for another book for this family.
This was a perfect little epilogue novella to Gwynneth and Gareth's story that underscored the importance of communication in a relationship very well along giving us readers some more of our favourite couple and their friends and family.
The event has gone from a dream to a worry. A public event she never wanted, can they work it out? I enjoyed the story so very much. The people are real, the events meaningful with humor and depth. The ending was a surprise and totally unexpected!
Gwyn and Gareth were planning their wedding for others and not them. Then something happens that makes Gwyn finally talk to Gareth and not just the I'm fine talk but let it out. Great short story.
A great little bridge story linking books one and two. I really could empathize with Gwynn about the overwhelming wedding chaos! An enjoyable read despite the cliffhanger ending.
This is a wonderful continuance of the Cinderella story. The supposed dream wedding is finally here. The paparazzi has come to town and are stalking Gwynn and the kids and ruining everything. Not to mention that Gwynn never wanted the dream wedding she was getting. Less than 2 weeks before the wedding she finally tells Gareth that she doesn't want the wedding that was being planned and him being the knight in shinning armor takes and scraps the big wedding and they throw together a wedding of their dreams that they all want. The night before they leave for their honeymoon tragedy hits Gareth's family but I won't tell you what happens on that one. It is wonderfully written and shows that there can always be a white knight in shinning armor.
Have you ever finished a story and wanted just a little more? This short story does just that. It gives the reader just a bit more time with Gwyn and Gareth, with a fun tale of their wedding.
Even though this is a short story, it’s still well developed. I was able to easily slip back into the characters lives, and experience this joyful, and stressful, adventure. I had several laughing moments, and the obligatory cry-at-the-wedding moment.
It was a great hour’s read when I needed a little pick-me-up, and made me excited for the next book in the series, which is just what a book like this should do.
This was a delight to read! I loved the relationships between the characters. They were warm and loving, passionate and completely believable. I needed a feel-good story, and this was perfect, though I really am waiting to see if Linda Poitevin will write a story for Sean. Please? Can I beg shamelessly?
My favourites are back! Gwenn's unwillingness to speak up made me want to smack her upside the head but I get why she had to be that way. The parts with the kids are still always my favorite in the Forever books though. Linda just has a way of writing those little munchkins that just makes you continuously "aww" the whole time your reading.
As a subscriber to the author's newsletter, I got an advance copy of this book. This evening, sitting home alone, I started to read it ... and I could NOT put it down. An excellent epilogue to Gwynneth Ever After, with some lovely twists to keep it interesting.
