It is the spring following the events in Dark Path, and he Phantom Badgers have a contract for the campaign season and a plan for the future, but all is not as rosy as it might seem. Larger events are unfurling across the great northern continent, and old events are echoing from the past. The Purple Spider are not satisfied with the Company’s encroachment on their territory, and in the big city the Badgers discover that they are not as cunning as they like to believe.
Once again the Badgers must face enemy war-bands, cultist plotting in the darkness, and the myriad problems that always seem to accompany their expanding scope of operations. Cult-hunting, Goblin-fighting, contract negotiating, and endlessly scheming, the Badgers make their way through the world of Allmar with all the subtlety of their namesake.
From Tonya Oesau, the Company Standard-bearer, to Phillip Milden, the Company’s primary knife-fighter, and on to the eager new scout Duna ‘Eclipse’ Kadal, the Phantom Badgers will take the reader down a dark and winding road to yet another tale of steel, spells, and cunning.

Delighted to discover a land where snow was a novelty, he settled in Texas and took up a career in law enforcement, serving thirty years before retiring. His service included a Sheriff's Office and two Municipal police agencies, as well as two enlistments in the Texas National Guard as a Criminal Investigator.
RW lives on lakeside acreage with his lovely and amazingly tolerant wife Ann, and a band of ill-mannered animals who are all highly photogenic. His hobbies include reading, history, various forms of shooting, collecting battle-ready examples of medieval weaponry, and learning to use such weapons.

New ground for the Badgers, ...a bit titillating, softly erotic and forbidden, then a downhill race to what the Phantom Badgers excel at, killing everything that stands in their path! Solid writing, breakneck pacing, RW Krpoun continues to excel and defy expectations with this highly addictive series, chronicling the never-ending exploits of the Phantom Badgers. What a great ride! Thank you RW for continuing to deliver non-stop action, suspense, continual shock and awe and reading satisfaction. Onto the next book! Well done, well done.
