4.5 Living Up To Its Promise Stars

Ok People.... we are now getting to the meat and potatoes of this serial and this is where things could go south for these types of reads... they could lose their way or focus...they could throw in everything but the kitchen sink to pad this one part to lead up to the big finish...and I am here to tell you... that did not happen for me.
From the last page in part two... we were left hanging and wanting... no, Needing to know what was the outcome of that event...(no, I am not going to tell specifics on anything...it will ruin the deal for you...)
Hannah is in flux, Jax is getting out of a deadly situation and more to the point... Jax is realizing he is emotionally falling for this amazing woman...She is fearless...crafty... smart in the way a Vigilante should be... but most important... He has brought all this out of her...and he doesn't want to leave her behind.
Hannah's mind is racing... it is acting sharp and seeing through any fear she may have... she is becoming strategic when needing to assist or save herself from those who want to kill Jax. She has made the connection of how there is NOTHING she wouldn't do... and is ready to fight for her place next to him.
The dialogue and thoughts from each POV give us everything and we welcome it. We see how each is thinking of the other... of how to get out of peril just to be there for the one they are falling for...
In this part, Jax and Hannah have scene after scene where the intensity has the energy levels rise off the page.
But all the scenes are not chases...no.... there are scenes with them where they are either sensual, caring with touches... or brilliantly sexual in how to get over a fear.... Leave it to Jax....
By the end of this part, we know the answers to questions we may have thought of...now are confirmed. The conclusion is next and I am sitting here telling you.... It cannot come soon enough.
Annie Winters and Tony West came up with a concept. It was their version of a tried and true story... but I have to say... they made it fresh, edgy, current and very sensual. Jax and Mia come from two opposite places in the beginning... but now I cannot see either one without the other... they are a perfect fit.
Bring on my ending....because I think.... this will be the very beginning of a whole new chapter in the Vigilantes.

Mia and Jax's story continues and after they (barely) survive the attempt in the last novel they are on the road again, trying to clear Jax's name and find out who she really is.
In the middle of all the crazy we get a little bit of HOT sex but there was a scene that was a little freaky even for me.

In their last night together (before Jax gets taken by the Vigilantes) he tries to make her not be afraid of guns. And how does he do that you ask? By fucking her with the barrel of a gun...
I know...that was my face to. I mean really? WTF? I kept trying to imagine what it would be like because she was really enjoying it (according to the authors) but no matter what kind of gun I was picturing I could not find that pleasurable...
Maybe I'm just to narrow minded...or maybe I should give that a shot and see if I like it :P
The novel ends (of course) with a "pull you're hair out until the next book" cliffhanger because why not try to make us go mad with all this waiting?!?!?!?!?!

Ahhh....another major cliffhanger..damn you Annie and Tony for torturing your readers like this. I want and need more of Jax and Mia. The ongoing saga of Jax and Mia continue in this third installment of the serial and the suspense has been turned up several notches of excitement. I did find this installment to be slightly more focused Jax and Mia's relationship. Slowly, these two are not only tangled in a web of danger but also in each other. Say goodbye to the naive innocent virgin because Mia has blossomed into a strong woman who is now comfortable in her new sexual awakening. With Jax, sexual limits are discovered and soon these two will find themselves caring more for each other. While romance is in the horizon, danger still lurks and threatens them and this time we finally get to meet Klaus and Jovana. Also, new players begins to emerge on who is really behind in wanting to eliminate Jax. As truths and secrets slowly begins to get unfolded, will the real identity of Mia begin to emerge? And what will awaits for Mia and Jax?

The story picks up.
This installment focuses more on Jax’s and Mia’s feelings for each other and their relationship. Of course, the kinky sex (Oh yeah, there is throughout the whole series. Didn’t I mention that?) and the passion, the all-consuming love.
“Who have I become? I’m so brazen. It’s like I skipped past virginity 101 and straight into my doctorate.”
“You’re going to ruin me for any other man.”
And I realize then, she’s ruining me too.
But of course, the action is not forgotten. The danger, risk and intrigue. Everything still made me giddy and want to read the next book. Although, I guess Mia is becoming an adrenaline junkie where she does something stupid all the time but darn if I don’t like her still.
Fear is natural. It’s how we perform in spite of our fear that sets us apart.

Review: Five "ass kicking" stars
That gut-wrenching feeling you get when you know it will be quite some time until you can read another installment from a series; those are my feelings exactly.
In the third installment of The Vigilante's Lover, I've become more impressed with Annie Winters and Tony West ability to wrap romance and "mission impossible" into one series. I took a chance with this read and boy am I glad I did. I think any woman whom obtain their first fill of Jax De Luca will immediately become consumed with him. He is a bad-ass savior and sex symbol all in one man.
Jax De Luca is determined to get revenge against his vigilante ex-lover Jovana, whom set him up into murdering another vigilante. Only there is one compromise: Mia Marrow. She's has had her full of boring life in the country, now living on her own since the death of her aunt. Jax De Luca is all of the excitement she needs in her life with his revenge-missions. A crisis forces them together and slowly but surely, Jax and Mia began changing one another. But only reoccurring events puts both parties at danger and we will soon find out just how far they willing to go to save one another.
“He turns to me, leaning on his elbow. “Did you get a good blow in? To defend my honor?”
I laugh. “If only. But I did kick the hell out of her fancy purse.”
Jax growls and wraps an arm around my waist. “Come here, my sweet little badass.” He drags me down to the bed.”

So this installment starts where book 2 left off. Mia's aunts house had just been blown up with Jax inside. With his Vigilante ways, he survives and runs to Mia. They decide to head to an MMA fight to scope out Klause and Jovana (Her bro is a fighter.) Naturally, Klause knows Jax is there and is able to poison Jax with new spy tech. Mia comes to the rescue (after tusseling with an unsuspecting Jovana, not realizing it was mia) and is able to find the correct antidote with Sam's help. Mia learned via Jovana that Sutherland is behind all of this and that there is a meeting taking place in DC the next day. Jax decides they should sleep it off at the hotel and decide what to do next. After a pasion filled night, Jax realizes he has fallen in love with Mia. He also does some research into Mia's past to learn anything about her family. Based on initials of KHS on the onyx ring, he is able to put 2 and 2 together and realize Mia is a vigilante from the very first Vigilante family. When they wake in the am and Mia is in the shower, Jax is confronted with a room full of Vigilantes that take him away without Mia being aware. He leaves her aunts black onyx ring tied up in a knot of rope as a clue to his where abouts. She knows she can't take his car so she goes back to the Acura they abandoned. As she is getting in the car, Jovana is sitting inside holding a gun. It ends with her telling Mia to drive. Eeeek!!!! This series is Ah-mazing and I am sad there is only one book left. 5+++++stars!!!!!

Wow wow wow! I need the next part of this series now! I was so excited to receive an ARC copy of this book when I saw it in my e-mail. I needed to find out what happened after Mia's house exploded! What happened to Jax was he okay? I knew before I read the first page of this part that it would end with a cliff hanger! But wow oh wow I did not expect this! I am so happy that the fourth part will be out soon and I can find out what happens! We see some familiar people in this book (Colt and Parker) which was nice...but we have some new evil people who are trying to take down Jax and Mia...I was surprised to see who some of them were! I will say that we have lots of action and yes some very hot sexy moments between Mia and Jax! Mia is becoming a stronger independent women who knows what she wants and to see Jax realize that he does have feelings for Mia was just amazing. Thank you Annie and Tony...you have kept me guessing to what might happen next during this series and I can only imagine what the fourth segment in this series will bring!

This just keeps getting better and better. Volume three is even more intense, packed with action and crazy edge-of-your-seat suspense...not to mention the scorching scenes between Jax and Mia where you can see they are both falling deep and hard for each other.
Mia just keeps sliding right on in to Vigilante life so easily, if a bit randomly-making for some laughs along with some "you go girl!" moments. Her character keeps getting stronger, and she and Jax just complement each other so well. We finally get to meet Klaus and Jovana up close-both I'd love to take a whack at myself (which means they're written great as bad guys).
A lot more is revealed in this volume about Mia and who she really is, plus we get to find out the story behind the ring. But now we're left with one last cliffhanger that has me desperate for the final volume! AAAGGGHHHH!
If you haven't started this series yet, and you're a fan of romantic suspense with a flair for action and super-steamy sex scenes, you will definitely want to add this to your collection. 5 brilliant stars!

Jax - I will push her, just to see if I can take her into that euphoric space where pain and pleasure cross back and forth over the same threshold.
And the action continues as enemies close in. Jax is starting to remind me of a modern day MacGyver, and Mia stays strong as danger surrounds their every move:
“I’m scared,” I admit.
“Fear is natural,” he says. “It’s how we perform in spite of our fear that sets us apart.”
There's one more book left in the series and I can't wait to see how things wrap up!

Book 3 starts right where book 3 left off, you must read the first 2 books first or you will be lost. Did Jax survive the bedroom explosion? Of coarse he did! And now he and Mia are still on the run and trying to figure out what in the heck is going on in the Vigilante world. MMA fighting it is, and no...the action and adventure does not stop there. I am loving Mia throughout all of this, she is stepping up, kicking ass and taking names. Another whammy of a cliffhanger and on to the next book I go.
I want to make note that I HATE serials, the only reason I am continuing this is because it is all included in my romance package subscription so I am not purchasing each installment. I am listening on Audible and I love the narrators!

This car and mouse chase and run gets all the more serious in the installment of the series. But once again it's a hang onto your seat kinda ride. Along with all the adventures of running in high tech cars and involving some high tech other things, Mia gets more embroiled into the vigilante world while jax is trying hard to get something that would clear his name. Meanwhile I loved the chemistry and closeness between jax and mia. But the way this one ended, I'm on edge and can't wait to find out what happens next. Loved loved this one.

Mia and Jax continue their pursuit for justice and to solve the mystery of Jovana. It's fun to watch Mia's natural talents develop. I have to wonder what she was like as a teenager.

Great series!
There’s so much going on in this book and it’s all an adrenaline rush. Fast paced, with “so many close calls. Bombs. Poisons.”, etc. Strong chemistry, and lots of heat too! But. Ends with a huge cliffhanger....

Volume 3 starts out where the cliffhanger left us in volume 2: did Jax survive the house bomb?!?!
We start to get a lot of our questions answered in this volume...like what is the story behind the black onyx ring and who is Mia, but with that being said, we are still left questioning certain major aspects...like what is Mia’s aunt and parents story/were they all Vigilante’s and then another big question is: what is the end game for Jovana (Jax’s ex-lover) and Klause (Jax’s ex-best friend)/what do they have planned?!? Klaus has admitted to a bigger plot, but for what? –Jax. So many questions to be answered in the last volume!
Jax is beginning to wonder what Klaus’s motivations were to betray him. He trusted him, relied on him and now Klaus is setting bombs and land mines to try to kill Jax and Mia....how did Klaus become Jax’s worst enemy? Is Klaus really trying to kill them or is it all Jovana?
The “relationship” between Jax and Mia is growing!!! Jax has this sense of “responsibility” for her, but he is also realizing that his feelings go much deeper than that. “Jesus, Jax,” she whispers. “You’re going to ruin me for any other man.” And I realize then, she’s ruining me too. –Jax. He’s trying to find a way to keep her close, but yet out of harm’s way, which is proving to be a difficult thing because every where they turn, they are fighting off a Vigilante and/or running for their lives.
Mia’s character is developing! She is proving to be a Vigilante of her own. She is determined to learn Jax’s ways of living...even if that means death. She knows she still has nothing and no one to go back to, so she is willing to stick by Jax’s side to the end. “She’s brave. Tougher than I gave her credit that first night.”-Jax. Mia’s feelings for Jax are solidifying as well! “I’m so lost. I want him by me all the time. I’ve totally fallen for this man.” How are these two characters going to ever have a true relationship with all this danger surrounding them and the “kill order” on Jax? Are they even going to survive this?
QUESTIONS QUESTIONS QUESTIONS!!! I am LOVING that these volumes have a mixture of suspense, thriller and a touch of HAWT romance to them! Annie and Tony sure know how to keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next! Whether it be wondering if someone is going to survive a bombing or wondering what is going to happen next in the bedroom for Jax and Mia...I was riveted ;) I can’t wait for the final volume to see how it all ends for Jax and Mia!
**Be warned, this volume is left on a major cliffy...again!!** But, this is the LAST cliffy! The next volume (vol 4) that comes out will be the last of the Vigilante’s Lover books...SAD DAY!!!

Whether it be wondering if someone is going to survive a bombing or wondering what is going to happen next in the bedroom for Jax and Mia...I was riveted ;) I can’t wait for the final volume to see how it all ends for Jax and Mia!
**Be warned, this volume is left on a major cliffy...again!!** But, this is the LAST cliffy! The next volume (vol 4) that comes out will be the last of the Vigilante’s Lover books...SAD DAY!!!

I've been counting the days till the release of THE VIGILANTE'S LOVER 3. The authors are the Masters of Cliffhangers. I was literally biting my nails over the predicament Mia and Jax were in at the end of part 2. You can't imagine how good it was. I couldn't believe it myself!
The way it's tied? Magnificent. Yes, my nerves were in knots when I read what happened after that big plot twist. Jax was clever, Mia was desperate and clever, and drama just exploded everywhere.
Right after that exciting start, were treated with some `quiet time´. Jax is all business, deep in his pursuit of a clue to Mia's past, but he's not cold enough to resist the allure she presents. And he presses her to fulfill his hot, harsh, sexy demands. Oh, that's the James Bond we all secretly desire.
The plot surrounding Jax and his status as a convict and fugitive rules his decisions. Following clues, he goes after two people responsible for his fall from Vigilante grace. It keeps the pace unrelenting and the reader riveted to know how the mystery unfolds.
I'm still in love with the spy-hero-gone-rogue style and action. The scenes keep getting more and more gripping with tension, betrayal, traps, and all that amazing technology that makes me want to be a Vigilante as much as Mia.
I really like the characters too. In this episode, Mia is an endearing mix of naïve newbie and smart apprentice. I had a lot of fun when she's stuck in a certain place and manages to be awkward and clever at the same time.
And Jax? He's all strength, drive and intensity, but he's no god. He can also end up in grave situations despite his skills which makes him all the more human and attractive, and the scenes high in adrenalin.
Together they make a hell of a team. This time, they even get more adventurous in their couple time. Believe me, you won't see it coming. Or maybe you will...
What amazes me is that the plot twists keep surprising me. New things come up, plans that seem full-fledged are bent into unexpected, wonderful turns. Both the plot and the romance are exquisitely intertwined. Let's not forget those meaningful knots they tie for everybody's pleasure!
It's all fund and fight until we get to another heart-wrenching cliffhanger. Oh, for the love of words! It's so good, and so bad, frustrating and hopeless, and I loved/hated it so much ;o)

OMFG!!!
I know I probably started my review of the second part in a similar fashion but there is just nothing else to say. This part is even better than the second one. The suspense is intriguing and the action is on high speed. Mixed with all that are the tender, romantic and most of the time pantie melting hot moments between Jax and Mia. There are a few quite unexpected twists and turns in the plot that will leave your head spinning :)
Jax continues to be his perfect man-candy self with his air of danger, dominance and sex appeal :) Mix with that the tender and romantic side of him which he shows to Mia with his rare gestures of affection and he is just the perfect man to fantasize every night. I loved getting to know him better in this third part of the series. He definitely grows as a character together with the growing relationship between him and Mia.
Mia also grows through this third part. She becomes stronger and more fearless. Her adventures with Jax show her a life she never knew but she was always meant for. In addition to that, the exploration of her sex kitten self is just so hot. Every time her and Jax come together, they simply burn off the sheets. There chemistry is simply off the charts. There were few scenes that definitely left me panting but one specific scene (which is probably a topic of quite diverse opinions) simply left me breathless. I don't want to spoil it for you so I am not going to tell what is the scene about, but I have to tell you that for me, that was one of the hottest scenes I've ever read.
I have to say that I loved this third part and I think it is my favorite so far. I just loved reading how Jax and Mia grow as a couple and how each one of them grows as a character on their own. The story in itself is captivating and fascinating. It kept me on my toes with every single word. And when I wasn't on my toes because of the danger and suspense, my toes were simply curling because of the off the chart chemistry between Jax and Mia. I have to say that I definitely recommend this series, and if you haven't started reading it yet, then just don't waste another second. It is definitely a must read. Just be warned. Every part ends with a huge cliffhanger, so if you are not a fan of them, simply wait until the last part comes out. In my case I am dying to read it :)

Vigilante’s Lover #3 is breathless intriguing and undeniably captivating as it pulls you deeper into the non-stop, pulse-pounding adventure that Jax and Mia find themselves hopelessly lost in. The thrilling twists and turns never seem to stop and neither does the progression of the pull between two very different yet completely compatible people. The action without a doubt leaves you on the edge of your seat the entire time, and I love every surprising second of it!
Mia and Jax are on the brink of losing each other just after being reunited. Just when things seem to spiral out of control, the least expected happens and throws our favorite characters back into yet another whirlwind from which they have to untangle themselves. The growing connection between these two extremely unlikely people brings with it an unexpected strength and unrelenting fire that propels them to do the most dangerous maneuver they have yet to accomplish. Just as Jax uncovers some truly life changing information about Mia, their adventure takes yet another huge twist. Will this finally destroy them and their plan, or will it serve to further harden their resolve? How much more can they take before their boundaries and limits are stretched to the breaking point?
I can’t possibly love Jax and Mia anymore then I do right now. They are both utterly amazing and completely breath-taking. I love the danger that we see as Jax, and how his rough edges are being smoothed out by the always surprising and never boring Mia. She is the light that brightens his world, utterly completes it, and sets it totally ablaze with life and love. In turn Jax breathes life, adventure, and romance into Mia’s placid world. What these two lack is made whole in the other. These two come from two different worlds, but they are clearly made for each other.
With each installation of this brilliant story, I never cease to be blown away by both of these outstanding authors! I truly cannot get enough of this world of constant flux and dangerous intrigue. This story, The Vigilante's Lover, is the Energizer bunny of books... it keeps going and going! Volume 3 begins right where Volume 2 left off. It's much longer than the first two volumes, but there are no pages wasted catching you up to the present. Things just continue to throw Mia and Jax headlong, directly into the path of further danger and intrigue, without missing a beat on the kindling of their developing relationship (and it's hot)!
I don't need to discuss the specifics of what Mia and Jax experience in Volume 3. Others have already done so before me in their reviews, so my rehash would be wasted here. Suffice it to say that the twists and turns Annie Winters and Tony West spin into this story flow seamlessly and are never able to be anticipated. That's saying a lot, as I am usually pretty capable of figuring these things out. And I'm loving that they just keep adding more somewhat futuristic, yet realistic, implements and concepts into the mix, creating even greater intrigue and thrills.
This has simply got to be my favorite Annie Winters/J.J. Knight book yet. I'm loving watching the development of the characters (most specifically Mia's) and learning more about them as the story progresses. The glimpses of answers to open questions that are revealed along the way are perfectly handled. I simply can't wait for the conclusion that Volume 4 will bring. My need to learn all the answers has never been greater.

I loved how the plot unfolded, how secrets were revealed and how layered it was…but in a really natural way that never left me confused or having to go back and figure out what I missed.
We started to learn more about Mia’s past and I hope soon a little light gets shed on Jax’s background as well. There are secrets galore and I want to know every single one of them!

This is one serial that I have been loving , though in a way it is longer than your average serial and turned out to be more like a book in a series. At the end of Volume #2 we read as Mia had found Klaus and then Klaus had decidely to blow up Mia's house along with Jax inside. At the start of Volume #3 we read as Jax and Mia are reunited and it seems that despite all the terrible things that happen to these two and the dangerous situations that they find themselves in , it definitely does not put a damper on their kinky and rough sex life as Jax is into what he calls a bit more than your traditional vanilla sex life as quoted in the book. The pair have decided to once and for all track down Jovana as where Jovana is -Klaus will be. We also discover a little bit more into Mia's background and how she fits within the hierachy and how her life slips into the "Vigilante's world". For this part, I was hoping for a bit more deeper insight into her background and her families as it was touched on very briefly in Volume #3. Hopefully we may see it in Volume #4 or who knows the authors may decide to write about it later on in a spin-off series. The finale of Volume #3 finishes with Mia being kidnapped by Jovana and lets hope people that in Book #4 she is reunited once again with Jax as with everything that has happened to these two - they eventually deserve some sort of happy ending in their weird way as normal isn't even in their vocabulary for this pair. Readers, if you love adventure with a side of kinky , then this four part serial is the reads for you.

Oh My! With every new installment this series just keeps getting more awesome! The roller coaster ride that Annie and Tony take you on is thrilling!
So at the end of #2, it seems that Jax has gotten himself into trouble but rest assured everything is alright. After that predicament is squared away, Jax and Mia embark on a journey to get to Klaus and Jovana. But not only are they on a mission but it seems that Jax and Mia are getting closer with more time spent together. I love the romance that is mixed with the suspense. You get the action but also the sweet and sexy. Mia and Jax have to fight their way out of so many problems but it shows the awesome team that they make. Mia is really showing how smart and adapting she is becoming. Of course, Jax is lethal with his intensity and determination. There are a lot of twists and turns in the story and I couldn’t keep up with all the suspense. Now you are left hanging at the end with what could happen next to Jax and Mia. I can’t wait for the next part where I am hoping all my questions will be answered and of course for Jax and Mia to conquer all.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book is not meant as a stand alone this book needs to be read in order. That being said holy cow this book is amazing.
As any of you that have read the previous books we were all on pins and needles at the end of book two does he live or has he died? Well there wouldn't be a book 3 and 4 without Jax so yes he survives but that is all the scoops I will give you. Plus you find that out in the first page so not such a scoop. This book is typical Jax and Mia as they learn more about one another the bad guys seem to be trying to kill them more and more. In this book Jax really opens up another side of Mia that she never knew before. Also in the story Mia is showing Jax that there is more to him than the Vigilante's drilled into his head.
This book has all the twists and turns that we have come to expect in this series and find ourselves holding on to from the first word to the very end. I am excited to see what they will do in the next book but am also sad because it looked like this is just a 4 book series. I received this for a honest review and OMG am I glad I did. I love this series! This is book 3 so if u haven't read the first 2 (do so now ) This is such a sexy suspense kind of book. I truly can say who I injoyed reading about more Mia or Jax!!
Jax is a Vigilante who broke out of jail and is out to clear his name and take out the trader's!! Even tho he is bad a*s, Jax even has weakness!! What is Jax weakness? Well to find that out U MUST READ..
