I think I need a break from this series... maybe one more book. Maybe not.

SEAL My Home is just another book from the SEAL Brotherhood series. In it, you will meet Rory and Megan. I guess these two were okay but I just couldn't get into these characters or their story line. I'm happy that this was an audio because I probably would've thrown my kindle, ipad, or iphone if I was reading this. Maybe my laptop but that's like my baby.

Megan was probably my least favorite character out of this series and I feel like that's really saying something. She was just ugh - way too freaking needy and immature for me. I just couldn't stand her one bit and wanted to fast forward on her parts. She got a bit better towards the end, but at that point I just couldn't stand her anymore.

Then there's Rory and he was definitely a lot better than Megan. Their chemistry was amazing. Heck everything in the bedroom made them more likable. Other than that, I feel like I need a break from this series. I'm either liking one thing and hating the rest of it. It just doesn't feel worth it anymore.

SEAL My Home by Sharon Hamilton is a 2014 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If the word “SEAL” is in the title of a book, I'm there. I love military heroes and it' s been too long since I read a SEAL novel, so I was really excited about reading this book.

Rory believes the unassuming Megan, who appears quite reserved, is ready to have a good time, and he is more than willing to bring out the lady's deepest desires... all in good fun, no commitments or promises. Megan is indeed ready to move on after having her heart broken. So, with a little nudge from her friend, she gives Rory a chance and she knows the score going in. But, after an incredible night of passion, she is puzzled by Rory's aloofness.

Before the couple can figure out which way they are headed personally, Rory is in a freak accident and his career as a SEAL could be over for good. But, oddly enough, he may have miraculously found his biological father as a result of his accident and subsequent hospital stay.

What no one knows at the time is that a Middle Easterner with an 'eye for an eye' plan of justice has targeted Rory, putting his father and Megan in grave danger.

Being romantically involved with a SEAL member sounds exciting and boy do these guys look HOT. But, in the real world it takes a lot of patience and strength to stand down and allow them to lead a life you are not really a part of. Megan will have to decide if this is a life she can be happy with. Her friend tells her that it's worth the sacrifice but Meagan will have many doubts along the way.
The fun part of the story is Rory coming around to the idea that Megan is not a casual hook up and Megan going all out to convince Rory he wants to stay. The shy bookish Megan does her fellow bookworms proud by letting go of her inhibitions and keeping Rory begging for more. But as the story progresses Megan will find herself challenged in a way she never imagined and once more she rises to that challenge and kicks some butt.

So, this story isn't just about Rory and his back story which is sad and makes his relationships with BUD/S all the more important to him, but it is the portrait of an ordinary woman, just like me or you, who proves she is strong, capable, smart, and every bit the hero that Rory is.

I liked Rory, I did.. but at times, even when he is certain about this feelings for Megan, he still seems to be holding something back. The uncertainty of his future of course is weighing on him and he has had quite a few emotional wallops thrown at him, so that could be part of it, but there seemed to be some kind of emotional detachment that left me dissatisfied. For me, the character that really developed was Megan and I was very proud of the strides she took in her personal life and in life or death situations.

Now being a little bit old fashioned and reading the old school romance novels all my life, I would like to have heard a few more words of long term commitment from the couple. The 'here and now' is all we have of course, and if you are in a career that could turn deadly on a dime, then sometimes that's all you can promise. I think maybe that was part of what Megan was struggling with because she wanted a man to be available to her and Rory couldn't promise that and stay in the SEALS. So, since that was kind of a theme in the book I could live the couple's agreement to enjoy every moment they had together and let the future work it's own way out.

Overall this is a quick and easy read, super, super hot and steamy, action packed and suspenseful, and entertaining. 4 stars

Sharon Hamilton has done it again. She’s given the readers another super sexy alpha Seal, nail biting suspense, red hot romance, and a sizzling hot page turner. Of course the Seal Team 3 could be nothing but explosive in more ways than the military. These guys are burning up the sheets and stealing their woman’s heart.

Rory Kennedy has found his place in life, he has found his home in the Seal Team 3. After being shuffled from one foster family to another , he has never felt like he belonged anywhere until he joined the Navy and became a Seal. His life now has a purpose. He now has brothers. Everything in life is great. When he meets the sexy bookworm, Megan Palmer, he has a new goal in his sites. He wants to show Megan that her fantasies and steamy romances are not only in books. He is going to prove he can be a romantic hero that will make her swoon and panties drop off. After all, he is a Seal.

When Rory is involved in an accident that could ruin his Seal career, he will find the support and love from his new family. A “home grown” terrorists sets his sites on Megan and Rory as a means to complete his mission to kill US citizens. The Warrior Prophet believes the more blood he sheds the cleaner his soul will be.

Rory and Megan will have find a way to survive to find their happily ever after. Rory is a Seal that won’t back down. He will protect his home, he will protect the woman that owns his heart.

Sharon Hamilton wrote another fantastic book. Her characters are strong people that will capture the readers heart. The romance is red hot and the suspense is a page turner.

Seal My Home can be read as a stand alone or in series order. I highly recommend this series, it will not disappoint.

Easy, uncomplicated with a good story that is written well from what I read anyway I just couldn't really connect with the characters. This is solely me and not the author.

ARC REVIEW:

There is a reason this is book 9 in a series. Sharon Hamilton writes very straightforward romantic suspense. You have a possessive, physically overwhelming male in a hot relationship with a sweet, female in situation involving some kind of terrorist activity. Sometimes I really want a story that is uncomplicated. For me, it took a little while to get fully invested in the characters. Being straightforward, although it makes for an adrenaline-fueled storyline, sometimes also makes it hard to connect emotionally with the characters. The writing is a little informal and elementary, so it’s difficult to take a deep dive. The story kept telling me how the characters were feeling instead of portraying the emotions.

There are quite a few secondary characters from previous books. I had a difficult time warming up to Megan, who I found to be a little immature and needy through the first part of the book. However, once Megan finds her independence and makes up her mind to take control of her own situation, I really began rooting for her. Uncomplicated does work is in the bedroom scenes, and they are provocative. Whoosh.

When I finished, I liked it more than I thought I would at the beginning. The story was interesting and I liked the sub-plot about the terrorists. The author weaves interesting information about the activities of terrorist groups into the narrative.

IN A NUTSHELL:
This is an undemanding story with straightforward writing that just might to set you e-reader on fire.

love some SEALs

Another gripping story in the series I came to love from one of my fave authors. It was intense, I found myself sitting up straight reading some of the scenes, melting at others, the sexy scenes are hot and of course I laughed out loud at some of the familiar banter the team guys dish out. I got the sense of real family and how they rally behind each other in the time of need. I can't imagine growing up as Rory did, of feeling unwanted and I am glad he found his place within the SEAL family and he found Megan, a strong, loving woman to share his life with. This story really brings home the danger all military personnel go into when deployed, and what their families sacrifice, but now the war is on home turf and they have to deal with the religious fanatics who don't discern who they are hurting to realize their delusional dream. Thank you for another great read Ms. Hamilton!

ARC provided by the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have read several of the SEAL Brotherhood books and loved them. This one, not so much. The plot is timely and great, but poorly executed. Ignoring the reality of how long it takes to heal from fractures and major surgery just doesn't cut it for me. The romance that blows hot, then cold, then hot again is also a disappointment.

Megan is the bookish type, until SEAL Rory takes off her glasses and lets down her hair, then she turns into a sexual dynamo. This relationship is full of starts and stops and ups and downs. It is a real roller coaster of a ride. Romance can be like that, except that here we have a terrorist cell fixated on SEAL's and Rory and Megan in particular and our H/h haven't got a clue they are targets.

Rory is a Navy Seal and having grown up in an orphanage he has never felt part of. Since becoming a Seal he belongs to a family and for him he thinks that this is enough until he meets Meagan who had a family until 9-11 when they were killed. Now after a few coffee dates they both want to take what they have and see if it could be more. But really that is just words they each just want a one night stand. When the night turns into morning and she is dismissing him he is shocked that she is doing what he normally does, not saying anything he leaves and is not easy to get along with for the next week. When they are finally practicing skiing in Big Bear when she comes up with one of the wife’s and surprises him and though he acts upset he is really happy. Rory gets hurt skiing and wants to be alone so Meagan has to make a statement to get his attention. While all off this is going on there is a story of a terrorist who has tracked down Rory for a bomb that was placed in his village killing his wife besides the target he was after. Now he is going after Rory, but if he can’t get him he will go after Meagan. The ending of this book is very exciting and full of suspense. Feels like events taken out of today’s headlines, and makes you become more aware of your surroundings. A very good story. I got this book from netgalley. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Love, turmoil and being with a Seal.
New love with a Seal and all the turmoil that comes with it. It’s never easy being a spouse to a military person and even more so to a Seal. Megan has just started to date Rory and has a friend (Lindsey) who is the wife of a seal. Lindsey helps to explain to Megan what it’s about to be a seals spouse and that it’s all worth it in the end. But circumstance in this story makes Megan think it’s just not worth it. The terrorist are now in the USA and going after family members. This is a well written self-contained story that is very entertaining to read.

I am leaving this review as I was gifted an advance copy from the author. It is simply amazing and I think it will become one of my favorites Sharon has written. She writes amazing stories and while they are stories they seem so real as they show what really could happen to our amazing Navy Seals and their families. I hope she keeps writing them for many years to come. I will be right here reading them.
I have to say as an Army Brat and an Army Veteran I never thought I would enjoy reading about Navy guys as much as I do.

Bad Boy Rory Kennedy discovers what he really wants when a home-grown terrorist cell forces his hand in the pulse-pounding military romance. Once again, the SEAL Brotherhood brings action and romance to life while capturing hearts and igniting fantasies and I can’t wait to read the next one. Note: This book can be read as a stand-alone but then you would be missing out on all the other SEXY SEAL stories.

The love scenes are super hot.

The action is on.

The SEALs are back with Rory (bad boy 2) and Megan a bookworm.

See how this quiet librarian can shake this gorgeous SEALs world and become his heroine.

I really enjoyed this 9th book. It had it all. Hot love scenes where they sizzled the pages.

Bad guys in the U.S.

The gorgeous SEAL team 3 showing us again why we love them so much.

Sharon Hamilton has another winner. Can't wait for the next one.

Seriously? After a hip surgery you are able to run, carry people, and have sex? Come on!!
Not to mention you have been beaten, hurt in several places and then you can simply run for your life, I know adrenaline can make you do things, but then when is over, you crash, and some how they were all superhumans and more than ready again to have sex.

I had a hard time getting into the book and it kind of ruined the storyline. The good news is that one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole orchard. All the books in the series to this point were fantastic.

Ms Hamilton always ends up surprising me with her stories . I have learned to know that even though the 1st chapter might not grab me , the rest of the story definitely will.
This one was not different and the storyline was based in the USA.
Our main characters in this story are Rory, and Megan.
Rory is a Navy SEAL that grew up in an orphanage and foster homes, always getting into trouble and felt he was never loved. He has found a home and brothers with the SEALS. Megan works in a bookstore and lost her parents when she was in college. She was badly hurt when unbeknown to her, she got involved with a married man.
These two meet and the attraction is immediate. Rory’s career is put on the line when he gets badly hurt.
The plot is complex and this time, the enemy is at home, the USA. A thought provoking story of the world we live today. How terrorism does exist in our country and how our brave men and women endanger their lives to keep us safe, no matter where they are. Also, a reminder that the families of these individuals are just as affected as the enlisted.
The narration of JD Hart, was excellent. You were always aware who was “speaking” and the descriptions of the story were very vivid.
A story filled with suspense, bad guys , hunky SEALS, strong women and of course romance.
I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

SEAL MY HOME is a story that will keep you turning its pages from start to finish. Rory and Megan’s relationship begins on the physical side with only hints toward the potential for development. Although they have chemistry, it’s life that gets in the way. And that’s what brings the intrigue and excitement that captures your attention. Rory and Megan’s budding romance and Rory’s unexpected discovery of a possible connection to someone from his past are enough to hold your interest but add in a dangerous threat not only to those Rory cares about but the whole SEAL Team 3 community along with some pretty surprising twists, and you have a book you will find hard to put down. In the end, there was a significant (IMO) unanswered question, with only assumptions as to what might have happened, which left me slightly dissatisfied, but not enough to spoil my overall enjoyment of this exciting tale.

SEAL Brotherhood Book Nine.

Megan Palmer is normally the shy, bookish type, but after a night with SEAL Rory Kennedy she's ready to move past that. Her previous relationship with a married man has scarred her a bit, but she is falling for Rory. However, Rory is not quite ready for a relationship. He goes on a ski trip to temper his mood after his night with Megan, but ends up injured. Megan is a big reason that he heals and she is determined to keep him, even when her old fling decides he wants her back.

If you're looking for a story with sand and snow, this is the book for you.

I liked how the hero and heroine met just by chance. Then add in a steamy romance and finally being able to be together. However, when their love and relationship is put to the test will it survive? That's the question.

I liked the hero and heroine and could identify with both. However, I think in some areas the story did drag a bit and I kept telling myself it'll get back into action, which it thankfully did but it did take a bit of time.

Rory and Megan meet and have a night of passion but leaves not knowing what he really wants. Will he and Megan be able to make it as a couple? Rory and his team go on a ski trip where he has an injury that could possibly end his career but also his possible father. With some terrorist after the man that could be his father and also after Megan, will Rory be able to save them both and figure out if she's the person for him?

This story just goes to show that just because you are part of the elite doesn't mean you don't hurt and you will feel Rory's pain and Megan's too. I spent most of this book in tears for this couple. Not sure how Sharon Hamilton does this so well. This story is also found in a bundle of amazing seals.

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.25 stars----SEAL MY HOME is the ninth installment in Sharon Hamilton’s contemporary, adult SEAL BROTHERHOOD erotic, military romance series focusing on a tight knit family of US Navy SEALs. This is Navy SEAL Rory Kennedy, and book store owner Megan Palmer’s story line. SEAL MY HOME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from several third person points of view SEAL MY HOME follows several paths including the building relationship between Rory and Megan; a home grown terrorist extortion plot; a devastating accident that may have ended Rory’s career in the Navy; and the possibility that Rory’s past has come looking for a second chance.

As far as romance story lines go, SEAL MY HOME does not soley focus on Rory and Megan’s relationship-in fact- a good portion of the story our couple is separated byway of assignment, recovery, or abduction, and in this, I did not feel the connection or chemistry between our leading couple. Rory kept himself distanced from Megan, without explanation resulting in a broken heart and feelings of inadequacy for our story line heroine.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters from the previous installments as well as the introduction of the requisite evil in the guise of Middle Eastern terrorists.

SEAL MY HOME is a simple and uncomplicated read but I found the believability of some of the story line content disconcerting-e.g. Rory’s quick recovery from a life altering skiing accident that sees our hero back on the job within days of returning home; and the on again/off again desire and need of Rory for the woman who has stolen his heart. The premise is entertaining; the characters are colorful; the romance is a struggle and felt disconnected from the rest of the story.
