I am a retired Southwest Airlines pilot. My wife Paula and I, live with our Chihuahua, Gabe, in Mesa, Arizona in a 55+ Golf Resort even though we don't play golf. It affords my wife a very active lifestyle while I spend my time writing. As a child, I enjoyed going to the Saturday matinee and spending the day watching westerns and daydreaming about the old west. I shared a passion with one of my aunts and read every western I could get my hands on. John Wayne was my favorite actor and Louis L'Amour my favorite writer. I miss those days where the good guys win, they treat the ladies right, have honor and are trustworthy. So, in about 2014, I started writing my own westerns and became quite shocked that people enjoyed them. I am so thankful to those of you who read my books, take the time to write reviews and email me. John Wayne said it best when he said "without you, I wouldn't be here". Please accept my deepest appreciation.

THIS AUTHOR CAN REALLY WRITE A GREAT WESTERN & THIS FIRST BOOK IN THIS SERIES IS NO EXCEPTION l

☆☆☆☆☆

Logan's Word: A Logan Family Western - Book 1 (Logan Family Western Series) by Donald L. Robertson is another great well-written action adventure western that will entertain you throughout. The characters are well-developed with the heroes that define the term hero and the villains are just about as bad as they come.

This first book takes place in Texas in the year 1867 where ranchers have their hands full with aggressive Indian tribes, rustlers, land-grab thugs, and hired guns. Oh yeah, let's not forget the romantic sparks between our heroes and their beautiful ladies that catch and hold their interests.

This is the start of the second series I have read by Donald L. Robertson and the Lagon family and honestly, they're just great if you are looking for a great western series that has it all. I have really enjoyed reading this book and have already downloaded the remaining books in this series and have started the second book. If you choose to read this book you will not be disappointed. I hope you enjoy reading about Josh Logan, Pat & Fianna O'Reilly, the Nance family, and all the other great characters in this story.

Quotes:
"Each man must, in his strength, honor his ancestors. Without them, we would not be."

"A man can't control his consequences; he can only control his decisions."

Good read!

I read for pleasure and relaxation, not to write reviews. I feel that the star system is sufficient for most readers and that reviews should be left to recognized critics.

Good beginning

Logan's Word is a good beginning yet the Logan Family Western Series. Good background on the main characters and lots of action and suspense. I'm curious to see if Josh's uncle Floyd will make a return appearance when the newlyweds arrive in the valley in Colorado...

Great story of friendship and promises kept. Lots of action a good old west justice. The best western I've read since the Lone Ranger or Sisco Kid. I couldn't put it down

Having already purchased a few books by Mr. Robertson was an encouraging factor in selecting this entire series of Logan stories, and I definitely made the right decision. This is a fast moving book, and if the first few chapters of book two is any i, then I am set for a fast ride with Callum Logan! Never a dull moment throughout this masterpiece of old American western folklore adventures!

This fast moving story is as exciting as any western I have had the opportunity to follow, and I have been fortunate enough to read a passel of outstanding quality books. This is definitely a family-friendly, and very heartwarming,d continuous story that is very descriptive, with the many a
ccomplishments of Josh, Pat, Bill, Fianna, and the entire crew of the Nance ranch community!
The camaraderie of this special group of people created a setting of continuously ongoing adventures that satisfies any true lover of great western storytelling! The storylines successfully depicts what I perceived as true western folklore, and the selection of characters certainly was impressive in their appropriately roles. There is never a dull, or non interesting episode from beginning to end. An outstanding display of true western adventures by an exceptionally talented author, who did an amazing job once again!
Definitely recommend this compassionate, and heartwarming masterpiece to anyone, regardless of your reading preference. This all encompassing detailed story will definitely appease anyone's expectations, and the ending will certainly prepare you for the next exciting story of the Logan family!

I really like this author's books. I just accidentally stumbled on book and I love the way he tells a story. The characters I like even the bad ones. It's action packed.

The Civil War is over. Lieutenant Rory Nance lay dying in a field in Shenandoah Valley. His best friend Captain Josh Logan was by his side. He asked Josh to go to his family and tell them of his death. Josh agrees. Besides being Rory's best friend he had died saving Josh's life. This is the story of Josh going to Texas and all the things he becomes involved in because of Rory and his promise. Just loved this book. If you love westerns you will enjoy this book. I bought more of this author's books can't wait to read them.

The reason for the seemingly long read is I put it down to read something else for a challenge and went back to it around 10-29-18 finished 10-31-18

Logan’s Word is a Great Read

Donald L. Robinson has written a gem in this book!
It is a non-stop action western that has highs and lows and keeps you on the edge of your seat as it progresses. The intensity and drama makes it hard to put down. The author does a great job in leading the reader into the story to the point where you can’t wait to see what comes next. The epilogue at the end adds a special touch. If you would read it before you complete the story you wouldn’t understand why it is included, but if you were involved in action like I was it will be special!

Series starts off good!

Wow! Love at first sight for this tough, war worn, cowboy. The bad guys are trying to take away the good guy’s ranch. The owner’s son was killed in the war while saving his best friend’s life. He asks Josh Logan to make a promise on his death bed that he will stop by his home in Texas on his way to Colorado to give the news to his father and sister. He gets there just in time to save the ranch and take down all bad bullies. Of course, a beautiful woman comes into the picture!

Fabulous

One of those classics that you don’t ever want to see the final chapter. The characters work together flawlessly and of course, justice prevails swiftly under the old oak trees as it should. I could read another hundred and wish for more!

This is book #1 of Logan's Family Western Series which continues with Joshua Logan, a grandson of Floyd Horatio Logan 'Keeping His Word, going to Texas'.
Joshua Logan and a war buddy had just gotten out of the Civil War when they were ambushed and injured with gun fire. The friend was dying and asked Joshua to go to Texas and let his family know he would not make it home.

Joshua had his own plans to go to Colorado to start a cattle ranch. But after the funeral Logan goes to Texas to tell Mr. Nance and their family about their son's death. Upon his arrival in Texas Joshua gets involved in helping their family with running their cattle ranch. This side trip takes more time than Joshua could ever had imagined.

An amazing, well written, with no errors, clean, entertaining fast paced story. I enjoy reading books by Donald L. Robertson each book has an outstanding plot that keeps my interest through the entire book. A good adventurous, exciting, American historical novel with light romance that the entire family can enjoy. These are great books to read as you relax.

Excellent Western

This book was a very entertaining read. The author verbally placed the reader in the story through outstanding descriptive writing, relatively realistic banter between characters, and a surprising relationship with local hostile Indians. Add a bit of romance, villains getting their just deserts, and the US Cavalry and the work is complete. I recommend this book for those who just read for pure enjoyment.

Good One

I was searching for a new western to read and I clicked on Logan's Word. Low and behold I had already gotten the book in my library. I don't know if I had already got it for free or what. I was so in to the book that I purchased the next one. This one started out on a high note and kept it there. The epilogue was the best I have ever read. Maybe an idea for another book.

Old West adventure with a large dose of integrity, trust and honor.

This is a story of a man, Josh, keeping his promise to good friend, Rory, as Rory died during the civil war. Josh's travels, encounters with good guys and bad, his struggles to survive and his relationships and leadership make the story interesting and gripping. Mr Robertson is an excellent author. He captures what I imagine the time was like.

Good Western!

I was very pleased with the contents of this book.
It isn't often any western book has such a vivid cast of characters so real, or so colorful.
Also, probably the only western author I have had the privilege of reading that made the sitting so clear was Zane Grey.
Being on an extremely tight fixed income, these books by these generous authors, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you Mr Robertson!

I was thoroughly engrossed in this story as Logan travels across untamed lands to visit Rory's family. A promise that demands more of him than he could have imagined. A fabulous tale of goodies and baddies than just kept getting better and better as the plot unfolded. A great western adventure with a touch of romance to warm the heart after some good old fashioned shoot'em ups. Well written and a great plot. Thanks Donald L Robertson for a very exciting and pleasurable reading experience.

Logan’s Word

When you are friends with a man who’s just saved your life and he is mortally injured and he asks you for one last favour you do the favour no questions asked.
Logan gave his word he would go tell his family that he passed away. Many challenges arise from Native American attacks, to bad men. But in the end will everything pay off? Loved this story. Kept me going till the end.

Now my friend don’t delay grab this book today!

Logan's Word: A Logan Family Western - Book 1

Logan's Word was a tense, action packed well written story about times that were not anywhere kind to either sides of the Civil War. The aftermath, that came, made for very dangerous times in Texas and throughout the west. This was played out beautifully. This book is a really good read. !!!BRAVO!!!!BRAVO 👏 👏 👏

Fianna's way

Mr. Robertson has a unique way with blending challenging plots with believable action and dialogue.
I've read his two "Justice" series novels 44 Caliber Justice & Law and Justice and found them to be exceptionally well-conceived and thoroughly worthy of any deserving reader's time spent with Mr. Robertson's unforgettable character's stories.

Excellent story about a promise given and kept.

Many things can happen when a promise is honored and some times change lives. Enjoyed this entire story. Never a dull moment, even though the whole story is only about three weeks time. Highly recommended for all adult and teenage readers. Clean but violent like the old west.
