Jake Mitchell has spent his whole life tied at the hip with his best friend and twin brother Jax. They’ve shared everything, except for women, which was easy since their tastes were so different.

From the moment she walked into the room Jake knew she was special, with her flowing brown locks, supple body, and a smile that could brighten any day. An accident leaves her vulnerable and in the arms of his brother. From that moment she’s in awe of Jax.

Jake tries his best to keep away from Reese Miller. He disrespects her and tells everyone how much she annoys him to make sure she stays at a distance.

Reese can’t stand that Jake hates her. She’s determined to change his mind, not knowing he’s desperately trying to protect his relationship with his brother, and his family.

When the two find themselves alone during a winter storm all bets are off, and what happens next could change everything, including the bond between two brothers.

4 BROS BEFORE .. HER? STARS

Reese and Jake

Jennifer Foor .. her books .. HER BOOKS never fail to amaze me! Jake and Jax .. even when these two were BORN I was hoping they would have a book and FINALLY I got my hands on. As soon as I saw them all I thought was I MUST READ NOW! And I did .. and I could NOT STOP (nor did I want too). Jake and Jax have DONE everything together and may be twin brothers BUT are the best friends by choice. Well up until, REESE .. the love they BOTH share for her tears them apart. Jax may have not seen Reese first but their relationship turns quite serious which Jake was not anticipating. Jake saw HER FIRST and she's more his type than Jax's. Due to circumstances Jake gets "stuck" with Reese and then that's when the PLOT TWIST happens .. all I have left to say is everything happens for a reason!

OMG, this one was a train wreck. You knew how things were going to go down right from the start, that Reece was going to come between the brothers in a big way. It got brutal between the boys, let alone when you pulled their parents in. I get that the situation was a bit too close to what Ty experienced with Savanah, but he went about things the wrong way. I hated his edict at the end, hated that it caused more hurt. I was impressed by the actions that Jax took at the end, it made me think a little better about him. A good thing as for most of the book I thought he was a selfish ass.

I'm at a loss for words. I don't know how anyone could actually enjoy reading a book filled with cheating and sibling betrayal. I found both the H and h to be disgusting--actually, the whole story line for that matter.

My thoughts/feelings while reading - lots of quotes included (May have spoilers) :) -

0% Gonna start this one next (probably tomorrow) - really wanna get this series off my tbr and the last novella intrigued me! Though jenn foors books are always hit n miss with me and I can tell that this book is gonna be the same - it'll swing one way to the other I just dno which? Christians book was a miss so I'm hoping this one will be a hit! Im nervous haha wish me luck! Hope you're all enjoying your current reads! :)"

5% That’s when I first knew something had to give. It was imperative to go to drastic measures in order to save myself, before I lost the one person who meant everything to me. I couldn’t continue a friendship with her, not when every chance I got she consumed my mind. No woman had ever gotten under my skin like this, and although it freaked me out, I couldn’t help craving the experience.
Oh jake :( this must be such a hard situation! :( you just know this is gonna end in heartbreak one way or another :'(

10% I hung up the phone and put it back in my pocket, determined to push her away, no matter how bitter I had to become. It was the only way to protect my relationship with my brother. I’d sacrifice my happiness for him, because I knew he’d do the same for me.
Oh jake! This books only just starting and he's already hurting my heart :( I'm enjoying this one so far :)

13% I’m asking you brother to brother to get along with my girlfriend. She’s a sweet girl, who doesn’t want to come between us. Can’t you be nice for me? Come on, I don’t ask for much.”
Oh Jax :/ I wish Jake would just tell him the truth but I totally understand why he's scared too :( this is only gonna end one way n I'm so nervous about it coz I know it's gonna hurt my heart! :(

20% Reese shielded her face, probably because she couldn’t stand talking about it anymore. I watched her get up and climb the stairs, never looking back at me. The cat was out of the bag. Soon my brother would know the truth. All I could hope was that he’d appreciate why I’d kept my distance. It was for the best. At least one of us could be happy, even if it wasn’t me.
Oh Jake :( I really hope we get Reeses pov soon!

21% I howled and bellowed at the moon, as if I were a wild animal. So much frustration had built up inside of me. I didn’t know what to do, or how to overcome it. My heart was constantly breaking into millions of pieces, yet I couldn’t stop from loving her.
Oh jake! :'(

22% “You never tried. With everything we have in common, don’t you think I would have preferred to date you? I love Jax. He’s a good boyfriend, and he loves me a lot, but he was never my first choice.
Oh Reese! This makes it all so much harder :( this situation is heartbreaking n only leading in one direction :'( I really really want Reese's pov!

23% What if I can’t be with him, Jake? What if I can’t love him wholeheartedly if I’m always wondering if I made the right choice? What if I love him because he’s the closest I’ll ever get to you?
Oh Reese I need you pov! I'm really enjoying this one :D this is definitely a hit so far! :D

28% It was then that I broke down, overwhelmed with pain, frustration, and most of all guilt. I’d fought my feelings for so long, burying them deep where no one would find. Now, after only a few hours, the truth was out. I couldn’t hide behind a wall anymore. She’d shattered my ability to withhold emotions, and consumed me to crave what I wasn’t allowed to taste.
Oh Jake!! You're breaking my heart :'( :'(

33% Reese
Yay so glad we get her pov! :D

44% I nodded sadly. I knew too well how he felt. “Right now I feel like I’m drowning in my own pool of pain, and if I don’t keep swimming I’ll never make it to the surface.” I leaned forward and let our foreheads touch. Jake didn’t pull away, not even when I closed my eyes.
:'( these two are breaking my heart so bad! I want them to be together but I know that means Jax finding out which means so much more heartbreak is ahead! :'(

47% I said it out loud, while she stared at me with shocked eyes. I knew what I was saying, and what it meant for my brother, but I no longer cared. I needed her to be mine, and I was going to make it happen, no matter what I had to do.
Oh god! I know Jakes right - it's obvious they can't pretend anymore! But this is gonna hurt so much :(

52% I liked talking to him this way. Jake didn’t hold back. He wasn’t secretive like his brother. I didn’t worry about knowing the whole story with him.
Jake seems a lot better suited to Reese than Jax - I'm looking forward to Jaxs book! he seems like a good man and I know this is gonna crush him but I really wanna see who he ends up falling for and how much different he is with her then what we've seen of him with Reese! I'm really enjoying this! <3

54% Then I heard his voice. My brother had showed up. Since I wasn’t particularly mad at him, I walked out to let him know I’d stuck around. Holding onto his hand was none other than Reese, and the look on her face let me know she never suspected I’d be there.
Oh shit! Reese?! what are you doing? -_-

57% “Why are you saying this? Are you trying to push me away again?” “Don’t call me anymore, Reese. Pretend we never happened. It’s better for everyone.” When he hung up I had to cover my mouth to prevent Jax from hearing my sobs.
Oh these two :( they're hurting and it's breaking my heart! It's worse knowing that there's worse yet to come - I just want them to be happy but before that's possible there's gotta so much more heartbreak :'( and even then it's Jax that's gonna be hurting - this is a no win situation and it kills :(

63% He patted me on the back. “Call your Aunt Van. Talk to her. I can’t give you the advice you’re looking for. I’ve been lied to, and had someone I loved taken from me. I’ve been on Jax’s side. I’m sorry, son, but I can’t condone what you’re doing, even when I know I wasn’t meant to be with your aunt. The pain was real, and it’s something I’ll never forget.”
Oh Ty :( I forgot that he's been on the other side :/ he's right though Van/Colt would probably be the most help! <3

65% My objective was to keep calm, and be there for Reese when she needed me. Nothing else could come between us, I wouldn’t let it.
That sounds like foreshadowing.... Jesus what else is gonna stand in the way of these two :(

67% While Jake stood there speechless, literally falling apart in front of us
Note: Oh shit no :'( :'( fuck fuck fuck!

70% Before I could sit down to sulk Jax came back into the room. Right away I knew something was wrong. He looked right at me, and for the first time since we were kids I saw him crying. “Reese just broke up with me.”
Oh fuck! How on earth is this going to get better? :'(

73% She wanted to know about me. Why would she do that
Talk to her jake! :( this book is heart breaking and I know it's only gonna get worse :(

74% It only took me a second to look and see what she’d wrote, but I think it was going to take a lot longer to accept what it meant
Oh Reese :( you and jake belong together and it hurts my heart that your not :( but I know that even if you are together my hearts still gonna hurt coz of everything else :( this situation sucks!!!!

76% Her long blonde hair had large waves all through it. Her heels were at least six inches, and the dress she had on left little to the imagination. It wasn’t slutty, but very formfitting.
I just had a thought .... Yes! Just confirmed it and I'm right!! Oh I'm now even more intrigued for the next book :D <3

80% This was a terrible idea.
We're at 80% now I'm kinda scared that Reese is right! :'( I'm hoping to finish this later - I'm enjoying this a lot more then I expected :D

81% I came face to face with the one man I’d tried so hard to protect.
Oh shit!! There is no worse way he could've found out! :'(

83% Tears were falling down my brother’s cheeks
Oh Jax!! :'( my heart hurts for both of them! :'(

84% I just sat there, unable to reply. How was I supposed to choose?
Oh my god!! This is worse than I thought! I can understand why Jax is doing that but poor Jake!! Now he has the hardest decision to make!

85% Sometimes love wins out even when we fight it.
I love that Ty understands but it's just a horrible situation that nobody can win! I love that Van understands better than anyone n can relate to Jake! :) hopefully this situation can work out like theirs!

88% They’d be okay without me in their life, and I’d have to be okay with that.
Oh Reese! This has to work out! It has to! I don't know how but her n Jake belong together! :(

90% This entire struggle was impossible to grasp. I turned and headed out of the building, determined to make things right, even if I had to give up my chance of ever being with her again. I had to choose Jax
My hearts breaking!!! :'(

91% three months
Oh shit I didn't expect this! Although it doesn't surprise me (if that makes sense haha) I didn't think it'd go this way but I'm not surprised that it did :( how is this gonna get better?!? :(

93% If I never saw Jax again I’d be alright. We now had grounds for closure; as much as could be expected. My only regret was Jake. Nothing could change the way I felt about that man. He could reappear in twenty years and I’d still get weak in the knees. Every bone in my body knew he was the one that got away. That was what would haunt me forever; knowing we’d never have the opportunity to explore the beautiful life we could make together.
Oh Reese!! I need there to be happy ending for Jake and Reese! And Jax too!

94% “It wasn’t just me that told my brother to let you go. It was our father. He basically said that if Jake continued to be involved with you he wouldn’t have a house to come home to.” “What?” I backed away. “Jake didn’t a have choice.
Oh Jake!!! I get why Ty did it he's trying to keep his family together but I still don't like it - I don't like this whole situation! I just need a HEA!

97% “I want all the credit for what happens next, Jake. You’re my brother, and I will love you the most for as long as I’m breathing. You’ve always protected me, and helped me be a better person. You’ve taken the fall for me, and taught me to stand up for what I want. I do owe you, even if I’m pissed about it. I can’t forgive you, and I don’t know if that will ever happen, but I’m making the choice to do something about it.
Oh Jax! I think I know what you're gonna do! I can't wait for your book - to see you get your girl!

99% Reese turned and looked over at me after reading the note herself. She took my hand and smiled tenderly. “I love you, Jake. No matter how long it takes, we’ll figure out a way to bring him home.”
Oh Jax!! :( I love what you've done! <3

100% I can't wait to see Jaxs story and to see him get his girl - I've read the blurb n I'm looking forward to it! I think it's gonna be a great match! I enjoyed this so much more then I thought I would! This was definitely a hit n a lot better then Christians book in my opinion! 4.5 stars that I'm gonna round down to 4 :D

Jake Mitchell (Mitchell-Healy #4)
By: Jennifer Foor
3/5 stars

I’m going to be in the minority of reviewers with this one. I’ve read every book in the Mitchell series & now in the Mitchell-Healy series and I have loved most all of them. In Christian’s book (M-H #3) I didn’t care for Ethan but I still liked the whole book. At the end of the Mitchell-Healy Christmas novella, Jake admitted to his cousin Noah that the reason he was mean to his brother’s girlfriend, was because he was in love with her. Right then, I sincerely hoped that Jennifer Foor would be able to write this book, without it being solidly about the infidelity & the fast growing love affair between Jake & Reese. That she would really bring their story together so that I could truly be happy that they were together. Didn’t happen.

1. Evidently, I’m only ok with cheaters if they a) get what’s coming to them b) lose the girl or guy (as is deserved) c) or if their significant other deserved to be cheated on (was abusive, a conniving bitch/a**hole or a cheater first.)
<<>>
2. I didn’t like Reese. She was back & forth between the twins & decided to wait to break up with Jax after the big game. I’m OK with that…if she would have stuck to that. She says she doesn’t want to hurt Jax but she doesn’t do anything to prevent that. I don’t know how I didn’t strain my eyes from all of the eye rolling that I did.
3. Jake was portrayed differently than in all the other books he’s been in. In this one, he was kind, tenderhearted, all sweet, caring & loving. In the past he’s been portrayed as a jokester who jacked around & just had fun. Also, how could he say that he was trying to protect Jax when he was screwing Reese behind his back? Yeah, not so much. I guess the heart wants what the heart wants, but he could’ve just waited a week & not gone through all the crap.

4. I felt more for Jax in this story than the main characters. It wasn’t until more than halfway through the book that Reese started pointing out his flaws & shortcomings, so even though he was flawed, it didn’t matter to me.

5. They H & h don’t become an actual couple until 98%!! That wasn’t enough time to redeem their characters for me. Jax & Jake’s bond is broken, they are no longer closely connected. This book has a non-ending end. I got no closure or happiness even though it technically ends with an HEA & somewhat of a cliffy that will start up in Jax’s book.

6. Grammatically, almost every then/than and woman/women were used incorrectly. Then there were the your/you're which occurred far less frequently. But still, how do that many get by?

I always know when I pick up a Jennifer Foor book that I’m in for an angst filled and steamy ride that will leave me quite frustrated in more ways than one. That’s the exact reaction I had while reading Jake, Foor’s newest release in her Mitchell/Healy Family series. I have to admit, though, I’m not a big fan of love triangles and cheating; it’s always hard for me to wrap my head around why people choose to do things behind someone else’s back instead of just coming clean and facing the repercussions early on instead of the hell that will be had after the fact. But I love Foor’s books, and she writes the situation in a way that shows the internal musings of the characters to be front and center, which allows me as a reader to try and understand the position they find themselves in and why they make the choices that they do.

I have to say, though, after finishing Jake, I'm torn on this one...Reece has a lot of redeeming to do in my eyes, and I'm not completely sure how I feel about Jake. I understand the idea of all consuming love and you can't help who you love, but the duplicity on both Reece and Jake's parts was hard to stomach...they crossed more than a few lines and there were parts that made me cringe with what they "had to do" to keep up appearances with Jax.

Jax isn’t completely portrayed in a positive light in the text as well; he’s a bit of a douche whose views on women are mind boggling at times, so it will be interesting to see where Foor takes his character after everything he had to deal with at the end of Jake. I'm eagerly anticipating starting Jax - he's the victim in all of this, and I can't help but feel for the guy who finally gave himself/his heart to someone only to be betrayed by those he loved most. Jax needs to heal and get over the hurt, but, to me, his relationship with his brother isn’t something he should give up on, so I’m anxious to see how/if they can mend their connection and get back to being the Mitchell package deal because readers can definitely tell based on their interactions and the way Jake describes their relationship that the brothers mean everything to each other, and it would be a travesty to allow a woman to come between that type of bond.

A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

ARC Review

OMG!! I am so emotional after this story. It reminds me so much of Colt and Ty. I love the family dynamic of this series. They keep me hooked. This story was so emotional and heartbreaking. Jake and Jax have a bond they thought could never be broken. Then they meet Reece. I never expected the boys stories to turn out like this. I cried over the brothers relationship being strained. I felt so bad for both of them. I am not giving out spoilers because you need to read this story for yourself.

I love Jennifer Foor's writing. This series has had me from the start. She puts so much heart and soul into these characters. I love the way they all interact with each other and that they all continue to be involved in each other's stories.

I am waiting on pins and needles for Jax's story.

What do you see when you look in the mirror, are you happy with what you see.

when Jake looks in the mirror he doesn't just see himself he sees his brother. How can you look in the mirror when that person has everything you want.

It should have been him she was his type not his brothers but an unfortunate incident in that dinning hall at college left his brother picking up the pieces or in this case the girl.

Reece was everything he wanted in a girl but she belonged to his brother and nothing was gonna come before his brother not even his own happiness.

I lived this book from the moment my eyes read the first chapter to the very end.

it has angst and all emotions that are classic Jenn Foor.

so glad that Jax came out the same day cause I had to read what happened after the fall out of this book

I did not like this book AT ALL. I liked Jake and Jax's relationship at the beginning of the book but it all went downhill from there. Reese is at the level of dislike I had previously reserved for Heather, Amy, and Isabella.

I don't like cheating but get over it in my books if the connection and story is right but here, it's not. What love was there? All I read was sex. Then Jax is a bashed because he's not serious and other mediocre reasons.

Not a fan of this book :( I thought I hated Bella's book but this one takes the cake.

Flip flopping

Hmmm, where to start. First off I love jennifer foor and her books. Jake was highly anticipated by me and I was slightly disappointed by all the back and forth with Reese and the twins. I'm not a big fan of the switching around and back and forth story lines to begin with but I purchased this book as a loyal foor reader. That being said I did feel sorry for jax that Jack and Reese treated him the way they did but I guess you can't help who you love. Hoping that jax's story is really great!

Lots of mixed emotions about this book. Hopefully Jax's book will leave me feeling a little better, because right now I don't really know how I feel about Jake or Reese or even Jax for that matter. This was a good book and great storyline just very emotional. Hoping for some clarity in the next book.

Jake and Jax are inseparable! They grew up playing football together, having the same dreams and goals, were best friends. I mean with having a twin brother you might as well say you'll have a best friend for life! The motto was they would never let anything come between them, not even a girl. This proves to be the biggest lie and test of their lives when enters Reese.

While playing football Jake accidentally hits Reese, who is a beautiful stranger at the moment, but it's not him that goes to her, its jax. What jax doesn't know is is that Jake fell in love with her the moment the ball broke her nose!

Ever since then Jake has had to hide his feelings and act like he don't like her. It's seems harder than it looks! One night stranded in a cabin with a fire going and the snow up to your asscrack proves to be a bust because it just brings the 2 of them closer.

Realizing they want to be together they decide they can't tell jax anything but wait and ease out of one relationship so they can prevent some hurt. Plans back fire and not only do they loose the girl but they also loose each other. Determined to make a sacrifice jax leaves NC to go stay with family in Kentucky, but Jake is determined to make him see that they are still brothers and things can go back to the way it was.

I don’t even know where to begin. I love the bond Jake & Jax have. It’s amazing how close twins stay. They would do everything together. They were best friends their whole life, however they did have different tastes in women. They would also never be with each other’s girl. That is, until Reese Miler came in to their path of a thrown football. Jake liked her from the start and even more so after they got to know each other, while she ended up dating Jax. I knew this book was going to kill me because of the brothers bond. When a girl comes into the picture, its not always a good thing. Jake was always the 3rd wheel & he tried fighting his feelings. He was mean & disrespectful to Reese. He tried distancing himself but Jax kept pulling him in, not knowing how Jake really felt. Gah! This book really did a doozy on my anxiety. The back & forth feelings, the knowing someone was going to get hurt...Ugh! I was waiting for the ball to drop the whole time. I’m really really hoping Jax’s book calms my nerves a little. Not sure how much more anxiety (and lack of sleep) I can take. On that note, I did love this book just as much as the rest of them.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

After recently reading and enjoying my first book from Jennifer Foor, I jumped at the chance to read more from her. I loved that she was releasing both Jake and Jax at the same time and that we would get to see what happened to the twins back to back. Although I had not read any of the previous books in the series before this book, I had no problem getting into this book or enjoying it. I will say that I probably would have had a better understanding of the history between all the secondary characters and the rest of the family, but it wasn't necessary for this story. I can't wait to go back to the beginning though and read the rest of the books to learn more about everyone in the Mitchell/Healy family world!

Jake Mitchell has always been close to his twin and best friend Jax Mitchell. The two of them have been inseparable and have always done everything together, even though they are very different from one another. But when they meet Reese Miller, things between them begin to change. Though Reese is more of Jake's type, she ends up with Jax. Jake and Reese form a fast friendship though because of the classes they share and her new relationship with Jax. But the closer they grown, the more Jake begins to realize that friendship with Reese will never be enough and he could never hurt his brother that way. When Jake begins to try to distance himself and push Reese away, both Jax and Reese begin to wonder what happened. But it isn't until Jake and Reese find themselves stranded in a cabin alone during a storm that the truth finally comes out. After all is revealed Jake and Reese quickly realize that things between them have changed, and it could ruin not only Reese and Jax's relationship, but the bond between the brothers as well.

I really loved Jake. He was interested in Reese from the start, and yet he fought so hard to stay away from her. He did everything that he could think of to put space between them, and push her away. But he never wanted to hurt Reese or Jax. He was an absolute perfect fit for Reese though, and they connected on every level. He was sweet and kind, and the exact opposite of Jax. Reese was harder for me to fully understand. I could see how she didn't pick up on Jake's feelings at first, and if I were in her shoes I would have probably thought that Jake hated me too. But I didn't understand why she would have stayed with Jax so long knowing that she had been into Jake from the start. I understand that after awhile she grew to care about Jax, but why didn't she do anything to begin with? Jake didn't because of his brother, but Reese's actions didn't make sense. The connection between Reese and Jake was clear from the start, and they had so much more chemistry than I ever saw between Reese and Jax.

While I don't support cheating, it isn't exactly a no go for me with books. But this book was sort of hard to take because of that and how much a part of this story it was. They were in a really tough situation, but I felt like things were handled wrong more than once. I wish that these two would have been more honest with Jax when they first discovered their feelings, and I felt like some of that was drawn out more than it needed to be. Reese had a tendency to flip back and forth, and I was ready for them to finally just be honest with everyone including themselves. I know they wanted to wait for a good time, but honestly there is never a good time for that and I think it would have been better for them to have told Jax themselves than the way it came out. I also wanted to feel badly for Jax, and I did to a certain extent. Don't get me wrong, he had definitely been betrayed by the two people closest to him. But I felt like the author went a bit out of her way towards the middle to end of this book to sort of make Jax out to be the bad guy. I understand she wanted the hero and heroine to be likable despite their actions and to sort of justify their betrayal. But I sort of felt like Jax was all of a sudden made out to be sort of a jerk and it didn't feel exactly true to his character. If he had been like that the whole time they were together, I don't see how Reese would have still been with him to begin with. Despite those issues though, I really liked Jake and Reese together and I felt like they were meant to be. Their love was something they fought and didn't expect, and yet it was undeniable. They never meant to hurt anyone, but you don't get to control who you fall in love with and that was definitely the case here. Jake is left with a cliffhanger and I am excited to see how the story continues in Jax. I really hope that Jake and Jax can find a way to repair their relationship and both wind up happy and with who they are supposed to be with.

Jenn’s writing of late has gone to a whole new level, finding the words, the right words to express an author’s work that has touched you is hard. We often doubt ourselves wondering if our reviews have done the justice it deserves.

You can feel the love, desperation, heartache and pain as it radiates from these characters. The Mitchell Family is and always has been one tight family unit, the love and devotion they have for one another no matter who they are or what they are going through is like no other.

For all the Mitchell and Mitchell/Healy fans you are going to love Jake’s story. If you think you know the twins from previous books you can think again, you are going to get to know them in a whole new light. These boys are well known pranksters, while Jax is like his father Jake is like his mother, he has a warm, understanding and has a compassionate side to him.

Jake and Jax are away at College, they’re the stars of the college football team, nothing and no one can come between this tight knit duo. They have a pact, no serious girlfriends until after they graduate and settle down to life of the farm and take over the family business. The boys are never short of attention, being gorgeous and popular has the girls flocking to them. All that is about to change when Reese comes into their lives.

Jax is in love with Reese, going as far as thinking she is the one for him. The close duo is now a trio, Jake and Reese become fast friends since they have a class together and are constantly around one another.

Jake however knows Reese probably better than she knows herself, after all they are so similar. So what happens when you fall for your twin brothers girlfriend and it slowly starts becoming obvious to some of those closest to you?

“Get it out of your system and move on, before you destroy any kind of relationship you have with your brother. Blood is thicker than water, son.”

Jake does the only thing he can think of, he pushes her away and acts like an a$$ to her, it’s the only way he can deal with being around the girl he is in love with. When Jax notices the change in the dynamic he fobs it off thinking that his brother is just being a jealous di%k.

How does Jake get through life seeing his brother with the girl he loves, the one who takes his breath away?
Confessing his feelings to her would ruin too many lives. You can’t help who you love and when you act on those feelings knowing you are going to destroy lives, are the consequences to much to handle?
What do you do when it comes down to a choice, a choice that will change more than just your own life…

Can this unbreakable bond these brothers have shared since the womb be torn apart by one wrong decision or is their bond strong enough to withstand the anguish caused by the women they both love?

Jenn Foor has done an amazing job with this very close love triangle. When you think of a love triangle, most people instantly think there is going to be a character that deserves to be on the receiving end of the hate, but this is so different all you will feel is love for all three characters. It’s nothing like a traditional love triangle. There is so much more and soooooo many lines we would love to share with you but we would hate to spoil this amazing book for you.Congratulations Jenn on another outstanding book!

Bring on, book 5 in the Mitchell/ Healy series, Jax.

Check out more of my reviews on my blog http://gemmareadstoomuch.co.uk

Jake is book #4 in The Mitchell/Healy Family Series which is a spin off from The Mitchell Family Series. Here is a link to the reading order for the Mitchell Family Series.

I was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review so here goes...

God where to start!!!

This book is a difficult one to review because at the end of the day cheating is a no go area for lots of people. For me it’s not a hard limit but more frustrating.

Jax, Jake and Reece are in the worst kind of love triangle, it’s the worst kind of situation for all of them but personally I feel like there is one person who is ultimately responsible for all of the chaos...

In my opinion, and it’s only MY opinion but Reece is the cause of all of the problems.

Jake is such a sweetie he has feelings for his twin brothers girlfriend. Which is horrible, BUT he was fighting his feelings, he was doing everything in his power to not get into a situation where he betrayed Jax. To be honest his life may have been hard but he was not doing anything wrong until Reece decides to get involved.

As far as I can see Reece pushes and pushes Jake until he finally admits how he feels about her!!!

Again this is a horrible situation for all three of them but what she does next is worse!!!

She could have walked away, she could have asserted some self control but she doesn’t!! Now if she had feelings for Jake she shouldn’t have been with Jax for me it’s a simple as that!!!!

I was shouting at my kindle willing her to just leave them both alone!!!

I know that I should feel sorry for Jax but to be honest he isn’t portrayed in the best light in this book. He comes across like a bit of a douche, his attitude towards women and his relationship with Reece is juvenile at best; he behaves like a horny teenager.

For me my empathy lies with Jake, now he is definitely not blameless in fact his behaviour is appalling. But I still feel incredibly sorry for him, out of the twins he is defiantly portrayed as the nicer of the two in this story.

I found this book really frustrating...

I want Jake and Jax to be best friends and brothers.

I want Reece to walk away and not come between brothers.

But I still want Jake to get his happily ever after with the girl he loves.

So here’s my quandary do I root for the brothers or the love story, because personally I don’t feel like I can be on both sides.

I really struggled with this book, I think if this was a single book and Jax’s book wasn’t being released at the same time I would be ranting more.

But I was also gifted an ARC of Jax so I’m treating the two books as a part 1, part 2 and its time to move onto the next instalment and hope that Jax, Jake and Reece all find some happiness.

Jake gets 3 stars from me.

What can I say , he's a Mitchell and I am in love with him !! Jake Mitchell is all grown up and in college playing football like a pro along side his equally hot twin brother Jax. As the synop reads , they are attached at the hip and nothing separates them. So alike yet so different they are enjoying their college days and are the best of friends. During lunch one day Jake ends up hitting a girl in the face with his football and stunned by his desire for her at first sight his brother beats him to the rescue and from there on out Jake becomes a bystander to his brother finally settling down and falling in love with the beautiful Reese. Jake and Reese become great friends and despite his desires he allows their friendship to blossom. They have tons in common and share many classes together. At the point when it becomes too much Jake withdraws and his attitude affects everyone. He can no longer sit by and watch his brother with the girl he wishes was his.

This story is about Jake's struggle with his feelings and how he pushes his happiness aside for the sake of his brother. OMG it is heartbreaking to be in Jake's head knowing how he feels and what he puts up with. Jake is just like his mom , very emotional and not afraid to show his feelings. He acts like a jerk to Reese to keep her away and he puts up with Jax , who is just as annoying as their daddy !! It took me awhile to love Ty like I do so since Jax is a Ty clone I felt the same for him. In this book we get a lot of Jax through the eyes of Jake and Reese. Not many redeeming qualities besides being HOT AS SIN and great in bed !! This story is similar to Ty and Colt and it had me on the edge of my seat. That sick to your stomach feeling of who will get caught doing what and when. Jake honestly tries his hardest but you can only take so much and he deserved some happiness too. When feelings come out and reality collides with them all heck breaks loose. It is heartbreaking to see these brothers ruining each other but from being in Jake's head you know how much it is killing him. Sidenote - how much HOTNESS can we get in 1 book !! The sexual tension at the cabin , the desire , the need that Jake has for Reese , OMG it was hot and just WOW !! Again these boys are very much like Ty in that department and if you read about Ty and Miranda you know what I mean !!!!!!!! Luckily we get both books at once because there really isn't a happy ending , yes there is a resolve and Jake may be on the road to happiness but there is still a lot of healing for these brothers and Jax is in despair.

I have enjoyed reading about the Mitchell/Healy kids and I am thrilled to continue on their journeys knowing that this family stays together no matter what I am thinking only good things will come for everyone at the end of this journey !!

"ARC received for an honest review."

I have been with this series since the very beginning and it just keeps getting better. Author Jennifer Foor does an excellent job at making each character stand out in their own way. Each book is a continuation of the wonderful journey in the Mitchell/Healy clan.

Jax and Jake Mitchell are twins and I must say very hot, sexy, smooth talking twins. Each are unique in their own way but both have a passion for football and a way with the ladies. But it’s one lady in particular that takes both these sweet talking football college guys by surprise.

Reese just literally landed on her butt and into the lives of the Mitchell twins. Things heat up quickly between her and Jax but it’s Jake that keeps her guessing.

Then it happens….. A chain of events that change the lives of three people forever. Jake and Jax said they would never let a girl come between them. They both had a plan but that was before they both fell in love with the same girl. Now someone must choose and watch the other get hurt.

Watching this story unfold knowing where it was leading was just killing me. History always manages to repeat itself, but I wasn't for sure if the relationship between these two brothers could be saved. Luckily these boys have their father and uncle to help them along the way.

Author Jen Foor always keeps me on the edge of my seat with the pull and push of a character waging war with themselves. She never fears the in your face real facts of love and that it’s not always pretty. But she also has you right there with that character urging them to take that chance and jump feet first into love no matter the cost. I was taken on an emotional ride with these three but what I loved the most about this story is the ending which of course sets you up to jump into Jax’s story. I can’t wait to see if Jax can really hold it together and let his brother and Reese live happily ever after.

Hang on to your seats ladies because these brother will rock your word.

Jake and Jax Mitchell. Twins, brothers, best friends for life. Nothing could ever come between them. Or so they thought. Enter Reese. Although Jake sees her first, Jax gets to her first. In the beginning, Reese and Jake are able to become friends while she becomes more than friends with Jax, but Jake's been falling in love with his brother's girl. So what does any good brother do? He starts being incredibly mean to Reese so it's not completely obvious that he's in love with her, ya know, like boys do to girls in grade school. He plans a getaway weekend to the family cabin so he can work on his growing feelings. However Jax ruins those plans when he invites himself and Reese along then has to leave for the cabin after them. Jake and Reese end up at the cabin, snowed in, no way in or out.

Oh my God!! I didn't think Jennifer Foor could really top the whole Colt/Ty/Savanna triangle, but she does! A tortutous story, my heart breaks for Jake and Reese over and over again. With amazingly hot and well written sex scenes we've come to expect from Jen, it only adds to wanting Jake to get the girl. Past scars come to light, you get plenty of plently of chuckles and you see plenty of family moments, the core of the Mitchell/Healy Family series. Told from both Jake and Reese's perspectives, this is a solid 4.5 star read. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I really hope this series never ends, because it just gets better and better!

Jake and Jax are twin brothers, best friends, and up-and-coming football stars with bright futures ahead of them. But something, or should I say someone, could potentially stand in the way of everything they've worked so hard for…Reece.

Reece grabs the attention of these brothers from the get go, forever changing their lives, but while she's dating one, the other is secretly pining for her from afar. One snowstormy night sets into motion a series of events that could tear the brothers apart, but is love worth losing your best friend? Your own flesh and blood?

I was sitting on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, and as with any of Jennifer Foor's books, I was brought to tears by her words. The lies, jealously, and turmoil between these brothers was palpable and had emotions running high. At times I didn't know which brother deserved Reece more, knowing someone would get hurt in the process. But can Reece have one brother, while remaining friends with the other? I'll leave that for you to find out!

I HIGHLY recommend this book and don't forget to pick up your copy of Jax (I enjoyed the next book even more)!

I loved this book it was like re-reading Colt Ty and Savanna relationship love triangle again and wow that was one great read.

This is Jakes book and how he looks at his other half his best friend (bro his twin ) and hates what he has and wants it all for himself!
Jax has meet a girl and wow she was not his normal type but he slowly falls for her and they are enjoying there relationship but when you date a twin there other self is close by So it's natural for jake and Reece to form a bond but jake has liked her from that first moment he hit her with a ball but let jax comfort her that lead them to date, jake try's his hardest to keep away even by making her think he hates her but when events turn and there stuck alone and The fire starts to heat up and that's when it all goes to cr@p. Will jax ever forgive Jake and will reese get her HEA. This book is overwhelming and well written well and it's so captivating your sucked into this plot and feel like your heart of emotions just flood out its a lovely triangle of love, hate, friendship, rules & family. I highly recommend this and read jax next due to it continues from this where it left off. Another great addition and I'm patiently waiting for more of the kids books.

This book totally surprised me!! The twins Jake and Jax had always been the jerks of the family and this book definitely changed my feelings for Jake!

Jake and Jax are college football heroes with a bright future with football ahead of them. They are unstoppable, until Reese enters their life. Jax called dibs but Jake can't help but fall in love with her, no matter what he does or how mean he is to her he can't stop thinking about her. It doesn't help that his brother is throwing them together at every chance so that they will get along. After one drunken night everything change. But Jake can't fight the feeling of betrayal he feels for falling in love with his brother's girlfriend. He knows it will tear Jax apart and he can't live with himself if that happens. Jake's inner struggle is real and profound, especially for twins who have done everything together, but is his soulmate worth losing his brother over?

Jake! He is one hot specimen with a heart!! Him and Reece with light your kindle on fire!! Another great addition to the Mitchell family!

Bros before.... until he meets her...

As you may have guessed based on the end of the Merry Mitchell Affair this story is all about Jake and Jax being in love with the same girl. The characters are funny and almost as hilarious as Ty! Though in true J4 style your heart will still break between the laughing fits and bouts of passion. And now a bit about the story...

Jake has tried so hard to push Reese away. He doesn't want to do anything to risk his brothers love. The twins have been best friends forever, inseparable for over 20 years, but one night in a cabin in the woods is about to change all of that.

Favorite passages:
- “What the hell is that odor?” my dad asked. “Have you been sleeping with pigs?”
- “Jake, please make good choices.”
- “Maybe it’s you that’s hard to deal with. I know most of time I can’t stand your face.” “Mirror mirror, we share a face, asshole. Unless you can’t stand yourself that makes no sense at all.”
- “It’s been a long time.” “Like three months. You said you were going to call. Did you lose my number?”

Ugh, I shoulda known that because they were twins it was gonna be another love triangle.... I can't stand love triangles....
I loved the Mitchell series, I dunno why it's been so hard for me to get into the Mitchell/Healey series...
I couldn't stand all the back and forth and back and forth.... it was exhausting.
It was right back to the Ty, Van and Colt book.

I'm glad Reece ended up with Jake, Jax seemed like a jerk. Wanting three-somes and the way he talked about having kids.. it was so immature and just.... blah, I dunno... I didn't like it.

I love the series though, and the covers are hot so I'm of course a supporter of all of it. I hope Jax's story is better, I hope he grows up and I hope he gets his relationship back with Jake. I have a feeling his story will be exactly like Ty and Miranda's where he'll find somebody then be best friends with Reece and do stuff to get on Jakes nerves like Ty always did with Colt.
I hope not though, that would be so predictable... We'll see though.... I've just one clicked Jax....
Reeeeeeeally hope it's better!
