Jax and Amber ♥ ♥ ♥

I’m puffing my chest
I’m getting red in the face
You can call me obsessed
It’s not your fault that they hover
I mean no disrespect
It’s my right to be hellish
I still get jealous ..

►♫ .. you’re too sexy, beautiful
And everybody wants a taste
That’s why I still get jealous

Protective or possessive, yeah?
Call it passive or aggressive ..

NOW .. now THIS is a GAME CHANGER (TEAM JAX STRAIGHT THE F*UCK UP). I LOVE THIS BOOK. It's THAT kind of book that runs through your mind when someone asks "what's your favourite book" and then BOOM it's there! Why I love Jax because this hunk is so similar to his daddy .. TY MITCHELL (THE MITCHELL SERIES) who is just as scrumptious as his boys. Jax not only lost his girl BUT his BROTHER/TWIN/BESTFRIEND all in the same NIGHT. He needs to get out of TOWN and boy am I glad he does! Enter Amber who helped him from the get go and even the first time he laid eyes on her picture .. he was MESMERIZED (SHE'S A KNOCKOUT)! They both have baggage and Jax is looking for someone to help him forget about his twin and his "first love" while Amber isn't looking AT ALL but isn't against befriending the handsome devil. Thus .. the beginning of something so BEAUTIFUL .. Jax and Amber. It's never a bad idea to fall in love with your "friend". Speaking of falling .. there is quite a bit as much as rising and awww'ing and most importantly MENDING. Would I recommend? NO. That would imply I'm giving you a choice which I'm NOT because not only is this book PERFECTION so is the original series and the spin off! Oh and the song .. I find it fits perfectly with my CURRENT book boyfriend's personality .. definitely one of a kind ♥.

My thoughts/feelings while reading - lots of quotes included (May have spoilers) :) -

0% Hoping to start this one tomorrow :) looking forward to seeing Jax gets his hea! I hope I enjoy this book as much as jakes - Jennifer Foor is a hit and miss author for me :)!

5% I was alone and there was no denying that fate. As much as I missed the twenty-two years of waking up and knowing my buddy was going to be there waiting for me, I couldn’t look back. I refused to, because that would only make me weak, when I was so desperate to be strong
Oh jax :( I'm looking forward to getting to know jax even more and seeing who he really is :) Though I find it really telling that he doesn't care about losing Reese - only about losing his brother :( not like jake who couldn't live without Reese even when he tried :( looking forward to seeing jax find his girl who he can't live without! :)

7% Not really read much the last few days been doing other things instead - I'm hoping to really get into this one later tonight :)

8% “I’ll have you know my man card has always been in my possession. When you’ve got the perfect woman at home, you won’t need to go out to be satisfied. I’ve got everything I need waitin’ in my bed at night, and now there’s a little one on the way. Nothin’s better than that.” Ethan and Jake were mumbling in the back, probably running their mouths, agreeing with Noah
Love these men! Love that now they have their woman they don't need anything else - they don't even look at another woman! <3

10% “Show me what you got.” She took her stiletto and drug it over my groin. “Baby, you can’t handle all I’ve got. Sit on those hands and I’ll get started”
Haha I like Amber - I'm looking forward to seeing these two get to know each other! :)

14% You’re overprotective.” “I have my reasons”
I remember why :( I can't wait to see more of Amber - I hope we get her POV soon!

16% You don’t have to like that we’re together, Jax, but stop pretending that you don’t care about anything. I know you do. When you hurt I hurt. It’s always been that way.” I couldn’t let myself feel the pain that this brought me. I had to get away, from him and everything he was saying to me
:( :'( I need these two to be okay again! They're hurting my heart!

19% Amber was obviously a special girl. I wanted to know more about her, and was willing to slow the pushing until I figured out how to get her to open up.
I really like that Jax knows that

20% He’d for sure tell her, and then she’d want to know about it, about her and everything that happened in our lives. She’d be sad I didn’t confide in her with a secret deeper than being assaulted. I knew Chris enough to know she’d want to help, but there was nothing she’d be able to do. A part of me died the night my sister left this earth, and there was no way to bring it back
Oh poor Amber - she's had it rough! I'm really looking forward to getting to know her more!

21% This intense feeling overwhelmed me. I couldn’t understand how my attraction was changing before my eyes. This woman captivated me in a way I’d never experienced before. To be honest I didn’t lose control when she spun and tangled her legs around that pole. I didn’t yearn to take her into the back booth and pay for her to dance in front of me. All I wanted to do was spend time with her; a lot more time than one four-minute song would allow
I really really like that it's not just ambers looks that Jaxs intrigued by! :D I'm looking forward to these two spending more time together! :D

23% Amber opened her mouth and began laughing. She was cute when she responded to my humor, and it was another reason added to the list of why I wanted her to be mine.
I'm really enjoying these two together :) I love jaxs sense of humour n I love that Amber does too! To me it seems like it's what she deserves - laughter especially after everything she's been through!

25% I couldn’t let myself feel that way again. I knew how it would end, and that pain was something I swore I’d never let myself feel again
Oh Amber :( I'm really enjoying seeing these two get to know each other - I'm enjoying it more and more every page! :D :D

28% It had been so long since I’d been touched. Having him massage my lower legs was a huge step for me. It meant I was trusting him, which to me said I was letting down my guard
I love that!! :D

32% I wanted nothing more than to lean forward and kiss her lips. Instead I closed my eyes and pressed my mouth on her forehead. When I pulled away, I knew I had to step into the bathroom. The moment had gotten the best of me. Being that close to her was dangerous. If I wanted her like I felt I did, I had to respect her wishes and be patient
Aww I totally love Jax not pushing Amber for more then she's willing to give! I also love that Amber is having fun-these two are perfect

34% I wasn’t ready to let Jax in all the way. I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to tell another man about what happened to me. My sister’s tragedy is one thing, but my sexual assault was another. In order to overcome I had to face my fears. What better way than to find someone who made me feel safe again? Jax gave me hope when I thought there wasn’t any left. That had to count for something
Awww I really really like Amber! And Jax obviously!! <3

38% I needed to be punished, and so I knew I’d spend the rest of my life alone. It was the sad truth to my fate
Oh Amber no! :'( it wasn't your fault :'(

39% Her beauty had pulled me in, but everything else was begging for me to stay. This type of connection was new. It scared me in some ways, because while I wanted to seem tough and in control, I didn’t know the first thing about what was really going on
I love that Jax has finally found a woman who captivates him in every way!! <3

41% “And when I tell you, there’s a chance that you might not want to kiss me anymore. You might think I’m hideous, or that I’m too damaged. I just want you to know that I won’t be mad if you change your mind. However, I would really like it if you’d still be my friend. I don’t have many, and you make me feel safe. I ran to you tonight because I knew I wouldn’t have to be afraid.” Jax grabbed my hands and rubbed his thumbs over them. “I won’t change my mind”
Oh Amber! Jax won't think bad of you at all! :( I'm really starting to fall for these two!! :D <3

43% If she only knew the person I saw when I looked at her. Amber wasn’t weak, she was strong and determined. Sure, she’d made mistakes, but if Christian could forgive her, so could I
Oh Jax! Show her - make her see!!

44% “I thought Reese was the girl for me. I swore she was the one, but after spending the past few days with you, I’m wondering why you’re all I can think about. You’ve got me all fucked up in the head. I’m painting toenails and wearing booty shorts to get your attention. I’m either the biggest moron on the planet, or I’m totally under your spell. Either way, I’m a damn mess.” He smiled and leaned forward until his lips were close enough to mine that I could feel them teasing me. “I’m going to fucking kiss you now, and you’re going to let me, because I can’t recall ever wanting a woman the way I want you. If you pull away I’ll accept it, but if you -”
Oh Jax!! I don't know about Amber but I've just fallen for you! <3

47% She rocked against me, crying out, making it impossible to hold in what I wanted to generously give her. Then I lost control. I felt my load filling my shorts and I didn’t even care
These two have chemistry!!! Looking forward to seeing more haha :D

49% “I was kidding.” He never took his eyes off me when he spoke. “I need to make my girl smile. Every chance I get.” Yes, he called me his girl. Butterflies rumbled in my stomach as I appreciated how good it felt to be labeled that. My smile was cheek to cheek, while Christian pretended to be sick. “I must be dreamin’. There’s no way you two are already making names for each other.” “He’s my Skippy,” I added. Jax shook his head and stole a chip off his cousin’s paper plate. “I’ll be whoever she wants me to be.” He winked at me
Awww I love these two! I love how Jax is around Amber - he's himself but a better version if that makes sense! <3

54% It was difficult to not wonder if Jax was too good to be true. He always knew what to say to make me feel better, and because of my past, I was leery to believe it, even when I wanted to. On the other hand, if Jax was being himself, and he really was a good guy, I didn’t want to risk losing him. The fact that I was this interested allowed me to see how fragile our relationship could be if I kept stringing him along. It was time to make a choice, instead of prolonging the inevitable. As much as I needed to take things slow, I knew I was caving. I wanted to experience everything this man had to offer me, because so far he’d left me breathless
I love that Amber knows this and despite everything is strong enough to go for what she wants! :D <3

56% This woman would be the death of me, and I was fully prepared for it to
happen

I really like how different Jax is with Amber! Where he'd normally never stop, for Amber he says no coz he wants her to have better! <3

60% “I’ve seen that look before. Don’t you dare fall in love with me, Jax Mitchell.” I couldn’t take my eyes off of her when I replied. “I’m afraid it might be too late for that.” She was as shocked as I was for saying it. “What? Stop joking around.” I clenched my jaw and tried to imagine how freaked out she must have been. “I can’t make you any promises.” A half-smile formed at the corner of her lips. “I can’t either.” I kissed her slowly, savoring every single movement of her sweet tongue. “At least I’m not alone”
How are these two so perfect! <3

62% “Everything?” I was stunned. “You’re not saving anything up there?” “We won’t have the room, besides, it’s not like it can be used. We don’t foresee having grandchildren. You’ve got your whole life planned out, and after the last fiasco with the miscarriage, I’m sure you’ve learned your lesson. There’s no room for a child in your career path, not for many years”
Hmm I really don't like her parents -_- I can't imagine what they've been through but that is no excuse for treating Amber like they do -_-

65% He didn’t go crazy, or crack a joke. He embraced me, out of respect. I couldn’t speak. It was too perfect
Oh Jax! I definitely love you! <3

66% His smile was irresistibly contagious, and I didn’t even mind that he’d broken the mood. He knew I needed to be comfortable, and that was his only goal
I love that Amber loves that about Jax! While other women would get annoyed at Jaxs joking Amber loves it! <3

75% “Please don’t talk like that, not tonight,” she whispered. “Why?” I was putting up my defenses. “We need to. You and I, were so good together, and that’s what makes it so hard. I can’t keep hoping that it’s going to work, when we both know it won’t. All we have is right now, and I’m so damn pissed about it that I don’t know if it’s even worth it. I don’t want to fight my feelings, and don’t even say you don’t have them, because I know you do.”
Oh Jax :( these two are gonna end up hurting my heart I can tell :(

77% He squeezed my hand, I guess to remind me that I was important to him, and this was him showing me how much. He couldn’t know that every single second I spent with him would only make our break up worse. Every single thing he was doing to prove his feelings, were torturous
:'( they're gonna hurt my heart! Though I'm looking forward to seeing Ty and Randa and everyone :)

80% “So he wants a Barbie stripper?” Reese asked. I couldn’t stop my girlfriend from busting through the door and heading right for an unsuspecting Reese. “What did you just call me?”
Oh shit! :/

81% “We’re good now, aren’t we, Jax?” I didn’t know how it happened, but like a light bulb being turned on, I finally saw what I’d been unable to see before. Reese was never mine. When I looked at her now I didn’t see the person who’d ripped out my heart. I saw the reason I went to Kentucky and found Amber. Then it all made sense. This was meant to happen, because imagining never being with her was inconceivable. “Yeah, I guess we are”
Awww!! I totally love Jax! Reese kind of pissed me off in this scene :/ I hope we get an explanation!! :/

84% Oh, and I should warn you, Shalan’s in labor. Noah called me freaking out because her water broke. I think he assumed that the child would just fall out of her vagina. He’s ridiculous
Haha oh poor noah - I can just imagine it haha! :D <3

87% Jax faced me with drowsy eyes. “You’re fucking crazy. I love it”
Amber is definitely jaxs perfect match! <3

88% “How’d you do it?” I didn’t answer his question, but instead asked my own. “How’d you handle being in love with someone you couldn’t be with?” “Whoa. Wait a minute. Are you drunk?” “No, fuckstick, I’m driving. I just left my girlfriend on the doorstep crying her eyes out.” “How serious are you, bro?” I sighed. “I’m screwed. That’s how serious I am. She said the long-distance thing won’t work. I’m telling you, if some douche sweeps her off her feet I’m going to fuck something up”
Oh Jax! :'( though I love that he and Jake are on good terms again!! <3

92% This could not be happening to me. For the first time in my life I was completely faithful in every way possible, only to have my past reputation bite me in the ass
Oh shit! :'(

93% My ears started to ring, as if my emotions were taking over my body, preventing me from hiding them. I could feel my own eyes burning as I fought back proof that she was shattering me to pieces. As much as I understood the why, I couldn’t believe it. “I love you, Amber. Just remember that when we’re apart.” She nodded and I stood up. I couldn’t sit there with her and keep my cool. She went straight for the knife and drove it into my heart, twisting it around with her confession of it being over between us. Discontent, I rushed out of the room ready to hurt anything that got in my way
Oh Jax! :'( these two at breaking my heart! :'(

95% It’s Jax. He’s in the hospital.”
Oh god! :'(

96% Once again I was sure he was crying. “Are you fucking with me?” “No. I already booked my flight.” “Thank you, Amber. You don’t know how much this means to me. I could really use my friend.” “I’ll be there. I promise”
Oh Jax!!! <3 <3

97% Just when I thought I’d lost everything I realized that not only did I have the woman I loved, but she’d helped me find peace with my brother. I was the luckiest man alive
Awwww! I love Jax and Amber!

99% I had to sit down. Jake leaned over and hugged Amber, while I sat there in shock
Haha poor Jax! He wasn't expecting that haha <3

100% I didn’t even care about his smart comment. Right there, in that moment, I looked at Amber and could see our future. That’s when I knew it had all happened for a reason. Everything had led us to this. All I could do was stand there, holding Amber’s hand, knowing that this was where I was always meant to be
Perfect! Once I got into this book I just couldn't put it down! Jennifer Foor has definitely upped her game with the twins books! 4.5 stars (the same as jakes) Though I'd say I loved this one a bit more then jakes - so I'm gonna round it up to 5 stars instead of the 4 I gave Jake! :) <3

After dealing with the fallout of his brother and girlfriend’s betrayal, Jax Mitchell finds himself in Kentucky trying to get over a broken heart and a whole lot of fury. His decision to leave North Carolina and regroup was definitely in everyone’s best interest…distance from the situation was the only way that Jax was going to start to heal and hopefully mend his relationship with his brother, Jake. What he didn’t expect and what I think most readers won’t see coming is the person who will help heal is blackened heart and show him how human people really are.

I love the fact that an author can take a character and show him in one light in one text and then transform him and allow readers to watch how and why he evolves into a completely different person due to a number of variables. That’s exactly what Jennifer Foor does with Jax. He’s definitely licking his wounds at the beginning of the story, and Jake’s visit doesn’t seem to help the situation at all, but it does force Jax to face some things, and it is the catalyst for the start of his friendship/relationship with Amber. Their first interaction illustrates the Jax of Jake’s book - the cocky, filthy minded man who thinks with his dick more so than anything else, but as Jax and Amber spend more time together and he starts to realize that Amber is his perfect match; he starts to change into a different person. He understands just by Amber’s reaction to a few things and her views on relationships that she’s been through situations that have scarred her, and Jax works his hardest to handle her with care and heed her friend zoned wishes, even though he wants her more than his next breath.

What starts off as a friendship – one where Amber works to heal the fracture between Jax and his brother, Jake, turns into so much more. But both Jax and Amber are broken and the depth of their baggage is enough to sink most relationships right from the start. They have their work cut out for them if they want to make it work and they definitely have quite a few hurdles to overcome, but when someone finds his/her perfect match, it’s easy to adjust and battle when what you’re fighting for is everything you’ve wanted but never thought you could have.

Amber is the driving force for Jax’s healing; she’s a heroine who has faced a series of horrendous situations that have brought her to the depth of despair, but she keeps going, which is a great testament to the type of person she is. Amber and Jax allow each other to live again…to feel consumed by love and even if it scares them, as long as they’re open and honest with each other, the risks are worth it.

I’m so glad that Jennifer Foor release Jake and Jax’s books at the same time. It’s fitting given the nature of their bond and how intricately woven they are in each other’s lives and stories. I do have to say that I still can’t stand Reese. She doesn’t seem to grow or learn from what happened between her and the twins, and maybe it’s because readers don’t get her point of view, but her actions in Jax’s books don’t show her in a positive way at all.

At the end of Jax, they’re all healing and moving on but I don’t feel like I received the closure I needed to have in order to understand how it all ended up okay. I wanted those conversations between the brothers and the couples to be explored further, so when the epilogue arrives, I’m excited to see what happened after everything was settled. I didn’t feel like that happened, and while I’m happy everything worked out, to me, Jake and Jax’s bond is the most important one out of all of them and I wanted to see how that mended and grew.

Overall, though, I loved Jax and Amber’s story; it’s exactly the kind of story I’ve come to expect from Jennifer Foor, and I can’t wait for the next one.

A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

First & foremost Jenn Foor Never disappoints. Now onto Jax Mitchell. After reading Jake's book I thought sure Jax was always going to be this huge prankster that only used girls for one thing, boy was I wrong. He became this patient, sensitive, understanding loving man. Now don't worry he still kept his man card & is one HOTT man. Another thing I love about this series is we get to see glimpses of all of the family, the book still focuses on the individual it's about, but we still get to keep up with the Mitchell clan. I can't wait to see what happens next. Thank you Jenn for another amazing story..

Jax Mitchell is one half to the Mitchell boys! After getting screwed over by his twin and girlfriend he decides to move to the other half of the families farm in Kentucky while on break from school. Not knowing what to do he just needed a break from life. While at a strip club one night he meets a girl who captures his attention and won't let it go!

Amber only dances to pay the bills so she doesn't have to rely on her parents. She lost her sister when they were teens, raped by a friend, and lost her baby when she was pregnant. Life has definitely dealt her a shitty card!

She doesn't mix work with personal so having jax there is bad news, especially after they start hanging out. But they are like a drug to each other.

With school starting up soon the pair knows the end will have to come soon, he'll go to NC to finish school and football, and she'll have to go to Ohio to medical school. They both in a way try to push the other away. Living without each other proves rough. So imagine when amber gets the call that jax is hurt and his football career is over. Well she's already given up med school so there's nothing keeping the 2 from being together. It's time for jax to get his happy ending.

Great read! I couldn't get enough of the Mitchell clan! This was hot, sexy, sad, and over all very well rounded! Can't wait to read more!!!

Jax’s book was a breath of fresh air especially after reading Jake’s book (an intense one). This’s one was funny, sexy & sarcastic. I love Jax so much, probably because he’s so much like his father, Tyler (who is my fave Mitchell). After the fallout with his twin bro, Jake, Jax moved to Kentucky to get away from his brother & his ex (who are now together). He couldn’t stand looking at them without getting angry. He thought the space would help. He never planned on going back home or to school, where he’d have to see them. He never thought he’d meet the woman of his dreams. He thought he loved Reese, but in reality, he didn’t know what love was until he met Amber. She made him become a better man. I loved how much fun they were together & how Amber brought out Jax’s sweet side. There were some sad moments, as Amber had to relive her past and some really heart breaking moments too. Jax’s “Jaxinator” was quite prominent in this book too. You’ll have to read to find out what I’m referring to. LOL This book definitely put a smile on my face & made me totally happy.

If you want or need a story to pass the time (or many times) away, especially when it's cold outside and the sun is doing it's best to warm you up in your reading spot - then, this 'full on' hot and heavy romantic reading is certainly up for it and it's part of a series! Twins - how can they be the same and yet so different? Jax has been crossed by his girlfriend who has fallen for his brother and has sort refuge at their uncle's cattle ranch a State away! Soothing his hurt at a local strip joint little does he know that his life about to change forever! Ironically, the one to help him through his mental agony is a girl known to them all and what a session it becomes! Football, blondes, lust, family troubles, love and finally security makes this a likeable read......

We can’t believe Jenn left us hanging like that at the end of Jake, thank god Jax was released on the same day!

Since reading Christian, Jenn’s writing has gone to a whole new level. Her storylines make you feel like you’re right there feeling every moment with these characters, you go through so many highs and lows and mixed emotions while reading you won’t want to get off this roller coaster.

Jax is heart broken, deflated, pissed off and feeling so much all at once, it’s all so foreign for a cocky male like himself. He's moved to Kentucky to get some space from Jake. Yes he’s pissed and he has every right to be, it’s exhausting being pissed and pushing the one person away that you hate right now but still love at the same time. Jax and Jake have always had an indescribable bond, but that bond has been severed. Can this bond be repaired or is the hurt and betrayal all too much for Jax to bear?

“Some things can’t be fixed. It’s like an egg. Once it falls out of the carton and onto the tile floor you’re fu&^ed. That’s how my life is.”

Jax has settled into life in Kentucky, he’s working on the family ranch and getting through each day. But what he wasn’t expecting was Jake to turn up. Jax doesn’t want a bar of Jake, so he sets a plan in motion to rile Jake up so he leaves. Boys night out brings more entertainment than Jax could have expected. It’s sure to be an interesting night when they end up at a strip club. While Noah and Ethan are talking and Jake preoccupied with his phone Jax sets his eyes on the dancer in front of him, he is captivated by those amazing blue eyes hidden behind the mask she’s wearing.

What Jax and Jake aren’t expecting is the girl in the mask to be someone they have met before, it’s Amber. If Jax thought he was drawn to her behind the mask he has now made it his mission to get to know Amber, he can't pass up a perfect 10. He is infatuated with Amber, for once in his life he needs to work to get a woman's attention.

Amber has been through hell and back, she has her walls and guard up at all times, never again will she let a man break them down. Being friends with Christian means seeing Jax, yes Jax is gorgeous but she can’t go there. Friendship it is for Jax and Amber, while she’s taking precautions having Jax as a friend, Jax is working up a plan to get into Ambers pants.

While Jax’s intentions were to try and get into Ambers pants after spending some time with her and constantly being reminded that they are only friends he respects her wishes. In doing so their blossoming friendship is making Jax see Amber in a whole new light she is different; she loves to banter with him, hell she could give him a run for his money. The chemistry and connection is strong for them both, how long will it take for Amber to learn to trust Jax, break down her walls and confess her secrets?

“They say the best things come to those who wait, well that better be true, because being with her was going to be the best moment of my entire life.”

We soon get to see a different side to Jax, we love the mix of cockiness and compassion that Jax shows with Amber, he may think he has a black heart but under the “Jaxinator”, is a devilish self confidence that will melt your panties! Jax may finally find a women that can tame him.

I (Kristy) have to say Jenn Foor I absolutely loved this book, I thought I was team Jake but I am 100% #TeamJax. He is right up there for me in this clan but Colt is still my number one main man. I have to say he is the perfect mix of Ty and Colt.

Upon reading both brothers books I (Kayla) found myself in book 1 not feeling the kindest things towards Jax but after reading his book I cannot fault his character. He has his fathers cocky and funny personality and his uncle Colt’s sweet soft side. Bravo Jenn another fantastic addition to the Mitchell-Healy Series.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

I couldn't wait to read Jax as soon as I finished Jake by Jennifer Foor. Jax is the fifth book in the Mitchell/Healy Family Series, and it can be read as a standalone. I haven't read more in this series besides Jake, and I had no problems understanding these two books. While it isn't necessary, I would highly suggest reading Jake before reading Jax. These two books are best read together since the boys are twins and much of what happens in Jake's book really affects what happens for Jax. I think that the reader will get a lot more enjoyment and understanding by reading Jake first and then Jax.

Jax picks up where Jake left off, with Jax leaving town after his brother and Reese's betrayal. He has been in Kentucky staying with family for a month, and Jake sets out to bring his brother home. Jax isn't having any of it though and is determined to run Jake off. When Jake and Jax go out with family one night, Jax ends up meeting someone he never expected. Not only does he feel a connection to her unlike he has ever felt before, but he is finally able to keep Reese and Jake off his mind for a change. With her help, Jax begins to see that he was never meant to be with Reese and that it is time to move on from the past and repair his relationship with his brother.

I really liked getting to know Jax better. I felt like he was sort of made out to be someone else in Jake's book in order to kind of justify Jake and Reese's actions. So it was good to finally see beneath his surface. He was fun and playful and I really loved seeing him happy again. He really deserved to find his match, and she could not have been more perfect for him. I didn't expect his love interest to be who it was, but I have to say that I had wondered if it might be her after reading the first book. She was exactly what he needed and he was the same for her. I don't want to spoil anything, but this girl was such a great heroine and I liked her from the start. She was smart and strong, and had been through so much. I loved how she was with Jax, and these two had smoking hot chemistry.

I will say that I did not like Reese in this book at all. I felt like she was acting like a scorned and jealous lover, when it was her that had betrayed Jax. I didn't understand her bitchiness at all, and I honestly didn't like it one bit. I had always liked her throughout Jake's book even though her actions were not ones that I agreed with. But I felt like everything good about her had been destroyed in this book and I didn't understand the shift at all. Jake deserved way better, and if I was him I would have been super pissed about the way she was acting. I was glad that Jax got his happy ending though, and I thought that he found the exact person he was meant for. Their relationship was unique and fun, and I enjoyed seeing them heal each other and fall in love. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read more from this series and Jennifer Foor.

Jax Mitchell (Mitchell-Healy #5)
By: Jennifer Foor
4/5 stars

At the end of Jake’s book (#4) Jax had just gotten Jake & Reese back together, by giving his OK to both his parents & to Jake and by bringing Reese to the farm for Jake during his going away party. And then Jax leaves for the summer…possibly forever…to go to his Uncle Colt’s ranch in Kentucky. He knows he can’t be around his brother & Reese together and is willing to give up his life in North Carolina for his brother’s happiness. After a month, Jake is determined to go to Kentucky and bring his brother home.

Jax may have gotten Jake & Reese back together, but that doesn’t mean that he’s gotten past their betrayal or is anywhere near forgiving them for it. I don’t blame him, at all. When Jake shows up in Kentucky, Jax does everything he can think of to get Jake to leave, including taking him to a strip club & then texting Reese about it. But Jax doesn’t count on getting lost in a woman that he remembers from a few months ago & whom he wants. Amber, the girl who Jake took to the championship football as his cover, works at a strip club and Jax is completely done in when he sees her. Jax is attracted to her & wants her like he’s never wanted anyone else. But Amber has strict a rule that she never dates anyone for whom she dances.

So Jax & Amber become friends and keep themselves firmly in the friend-zone. After all, they both need friends. Amber is the girl in Christian’s book who was also assaulted & raped by Seth, but she testified against him so Christian wouldn’t have to. So Amber’s only friends really, are Christian and her boyfriend, Ethan. Plus, the few times that she’s been around Jax, he’s made her feel safe, which is something she hasn’t felt since Seth attacked her. Jax feels comfortable with her, because she is the only person who he feels like he can talk to, about Jake’s betrayal because she’s not in his family.

Jax & Amber start by building a friendship, in which they can just be themselves, without fear of judgment or trying to be on their best behavior or impress the other. Jax is a funny guy and his humor generally runs through the gutter first. But he knows how to use that humor to lighten up a tense or sad situation, to make Amber laugh or sometimes, to try to get his naughty way. Amber doesn’t mind his jack@ssery and her sense of humor rolls with his perfectly.

Jax helps Amber get through her traumatic past and Amber helps Jax on the getting past the betrayal. The more time that they spend together, the close they become & decide to become a couple and even start to fall in love. Jax comes to realize that while he cared for Reese, he didn’t love her in the way a man should love the woman he intends to marry. That realization is what gave him the strength to overcome the betrayal.

I LOVED the epilogue which was set a year later. I don’t know which cousin’s book comes next, but I’m definitely going to get it!

JAX JAX JAX , what can I say about him !! Honestly I hate seeing him hurt but again being that he is just like Ty he has that annoying humorous personality that he uses to hide his true feelings. Sometimes you want to kick him in the junk even though you know he really is hurting BAD. You can't help but laugh at him and the banter between him and everyone , you just know once you get him to open up he will be the whole package and probably put all the others to shame with his huge heart and capacity to love !! Just have to have patience with this hot annoying man !!!!!!

Jax has escaped to his uncle's farm in Kentucky. Trying to distance himself from Jake and Reese so he can move on and heal his heart. He may have helped them in the end but that doesn't mean he has any desire to sit around and watch their happiness. Instead he is on the hunt to find some you know what to make him forget. Jake has other plans so when he shows up on Jax's doorstep the chaos begins again. Jax is determined to send Jake running back home to his girlfriend and Jake is determined to bring Jax home. Poor Jax tries just about everything to get rid of Jake. The first night there they hit a strip club and once he sets his eyes on that perfect pair of t**s all plans to rid himself of Jake go out the window and all that matters is getting this girl and getting in her pants. It doesn't take long to realize they know her and then something snaps inside Jax and he just has to be around her. Amber has a crazy past and has no desire to be in a relationship. The fast friendship her and Jax form is exactly what the two of them needed and had no clue they would find in each other. Their sexy banter and sexual tension fuels the journey and I honestly loved them together. Jax turns into a totally different guy and again he is so much like Ty that you have to just love him. He helps Amber deal with her demons and she helps him deal with his. It is a beautiful story and leads to new love and Mitchell family healing at its best !! Of course the sex is phenomenal and I could read it over and over again !!

Seriously couldn't get any better and the way it all ends , WOW SWOON and yes a total MUST READ !! Can't wait to see what comes next !! I love all the little updates and glimpses we get at the lives of all the kids and of course the originals we all love and miss !!!!!!

Check out more of my reviews on my blog http://gemmareadstoomuch.co.uk

I struggled with Jakes book, personally I felt like Jax wasn’t shown in the best light to be honest he came off as a bit of a douche!!

The Jax that we see in this book is like a different person. Jennifer Foor obviously intended the readers of Jake to sympathise with Jake and Reece and if Jax was too likable we wouldn’t want Reece and Jake to get their happily ever after.

Thank god that Jax gets his own book because we get to see how adorable, sensitive and funny he is. The obnoxious, condescending womanizer we see in Jakes book is never seen and I have to say in a Jake vs. Jax competition Jax wins everytime.

I had a sneaking suspicion that we hadn’t seen the last of Amber and she is sooo perfect for Jax. I love how he swoops in and looks after her, she needs someone to care for her and he needs someone to need him. It’s perfect!!

I love the banter and friendship they obviously feel for each other, their relationship feels effortless and easy. I know they have trials and tribulations but I never doubted their feelings towards each other.

Amber’s parents were a nightmare #teamJax got added bonus points for telling them off and not being polite about it!!!

The sex was a tiny bit dirtier than Jennifer Foor normally goes but it still definitely worked and Amber and Jax were smoking hot together!!

The Mitchell/Healy clan were a bit judgemental of poor Amber and I did feel a bit sorry for her but I have to say I still really hate Reece!!! She’s barely in this book but every time she pops up she annoyed me even more.

Ok is anyone else wondering what happened to Seth his release from prison was brought up and he made some pretty damming threats but then he’s forgotten and never mentioned again???

I really enjoyed this book, Jax and Amber are incredibly likeable and I was instantly rooting for them.

For the record after reading both Jake and Jax I’m completely #teamjax!!

Personally I feel like Jake and Jax should have been part 1 & 2 of the same book.

Jax gets 4 stars from me.

Can two broken souls heal together?

Make sure you read Jake first, Jax's story follows right after is brother's.  If you are a fan of the original Mitchell series, Jax reminds me so much of Ty!  I started this last night before dinner and in less than 24 hours I was to the end...  but not without many moments of tears running down my face and others of laughing out loud.  And now a bit about the story...

Jax has run of to Kentucky to escape his pain, he can't believe he really lost his brother.  They've never been apart... now it has been a month and he is just getting by, working hard, eating, and sleeping.  Until Jake shows up to bring him home.  He puts on a brave face and decides to go out for a guys night on the town.  When he ends up at a strip club and later getting a lap dance from Amber his life finally starts to look up and he has a new challenge.  Can he get her to break her no dating clients rule or even no touching, he would take either.

I hope you enjoy Jax and his heart mending story as much as I did!

Favorite passages:
- One of my biggest problems with college was that I just wasn’t good at school. Give me a ball, I could make magic happen. Stick a pencil in my hand, I sat there like a stiff rock.
- She was the whole package. She was beautiful, educated, independent, and above all witty.
- Her beauty had pulled me in, but everything else was begging for me to stay.
- “I’m just a guy, who likes a girl. We both have baggage, and it’s pretty fucked up. That doesn’t mean we can’t start over.”
- “Yeah, I’m like a little puppy. Once I hump you’re leg once we’re best friends for life.”
- “You’re certainly not going to fall apart, not on my watch. You’ve got a sidekick now.”

Oooohhhh Jax.. where do I even start. Jake's twin, Ty and Miranda's son. One helluva cocky man, with ever reason to be. The star quarterback with serious skill, family centric and a seriously funny, if not crude, sense of humor. He thought he had it all with Reese. Until he lost his girl and his best friend, his brother Jake, in one fell swoop. Unable to even be around Jake after the betrayal, he flees. Jake gives him time, but ultimately comes to mend their relationship. Going out one night, he sees Amber in a whole night. You might remember Amber from Jake's book. She's the stunner from Jake's book. Their cousin's friend who agreed to pretend to be Jake's girlfriend during the championship game. Except she's not going to give into Jake's advances.

So, I think it's pretty much a given that I love anything Jennifer Foor puts out, especially The Mitchell and The Mitchell/Healy series. My personal favorite was the Christmas novella (cracked me up). Anyways, I digress. Jenn Foor is able to write incredible tales of family, love, lust, you name it. After the first couple of books in the Mitchell Family series, you become emotionally invested in this wild, crazy, loving family. Reading about Savanna and Noah's and Miranda and Ty's kids (Noah, Isabella, Christian and Jake/Jax), is natural and I love seeing the development of the characters. The sex is off the charts hot, the drama completely gut wrenching and the Jax will make you laugh out loud, multiple times. Another 5 star read from Jenn Foor!!!

Just when you thought all was forgiven. Jax is more then just upset with Jake he is down right furious with his brother. Taking his girlfriend is one thing but the betrayal of trust between brother is an entire different ball game. Jax lost more than just his girlfriend he lost his best friend and a big part of himself when he turned away from his brother and moved to Kentucky. Now he has set out to drown his sorrows and numb the pain. But a surprise visit from his brother has him seeing red and he can't wait to show him just how he feels.

These brother did a lot of head butting in Jax's story and while I did continuously laugh out loud I also found that this story was more about Jax finding a way to forgive and heal his broken heart.

Amber is the start to Jax's healing process but he to will be able to heal Amber of her doubts and fears. I loved the passion between these two but the soul bearing conversations they shared just shattered my heart and put it back together again. Jax and Amber's love can give anyone hope again and show that love can really overcome the hurt from the past and allow us to forgive and live again. **Beautifully written and emotionally charged.**

I am so happy that I didn't have to wait for Jax's story after reading Jakes. So with that in mind I would highly recommend that you read Jake's story first so that you can fully understand the background of these characters. You will have a much better appreciation for Jax's story and the healing of his heart.

This book continues from Jakes book!

When you lose your other half best friend and girlfriend you just have to get away and that's what Jax did he ran and didn't want to turn back, when his brother Jake stole his hopes and crushed his heart by fulling in love and sleeping with his girlfriend he couldn't just stay by and see them be together even though he pushed them together because he wanted deep down for his brother to he happy.
This is Jax's events of how he tried to more forward with a broken heart and after awhile Jake shows up to try to mend what he broke but Jax didn't want to know not just yet ( who could blame him ) they end up going to a strip club and Jax's world is rocked by the heavens its self he has a private dance by the one sexy person who is a friend of his cousins and was a decoy for his brother, she is the most beautiful girl he's ever seen and wants her from that moment.
Amber has dark secrets that she has hidden from for a while and don't let anyone get close your know by reading Jakes book that's a must read first! That Seth attacked her too, but you don't find out what happens in detail in that book so this book gives it all you must read this one I highly recommend them and don't want to give anything away but this is an emotional book and your love the JEXINATOR lol
It's about two broken souls that find love can heal and forgive. I'm so looking forward to more of this series and don't ever want them to end :)

I don't review many books but I need to review this one. First of all, I genuinely enjoyed Jax's story. It is my favorite from the Mitchell-Healy series so far. I'm actually hoping with some of the loose ends from Amber's past we get another story for this couple. I am definitely "Team Jax".

Now, why I rated this a 4 rather than a 5:

I'm not sure what a "beta-reader" does, or what an ARC is, or if one has something to do with the other. All I know is there are some people who get the book ahead of time to give an honest review. So I would just like to point out, if I were one of these people I would make sure I would be recording any mistakes from the text. I don't expect it to be perfect but halfway through the book the errors started to become a distraction. There were minor things such as "curled up into bawl", I think there author meant curled up into a ball. Another one was "His words send chills through my spin." Perhaps the biggest faux pas was when "JAKE tugged is shirt over his head." during a significant scene between Jax and Amber. I'm not going to mention any others because my intention is not to bash the author. My hope is for a person who does get rewarded with an ARC will read this and think about finding these imperfections and hopefully telling the author before they officially publish (if that is even possible).

WOW I could NOT stand Jax in the last book and for the first half of this book... He was immature and selfish and I wanted to punch him in the face so bad! I literally couldn't stand him... He reminded me of Ty so much when Ty was trying to get used to Van and Colt being together.... Then Reece kind of acted like Van did when she found out Ty was moving on.. They both kinda freaked out and acted like babies that would have been super awkward for Colt and Jake, I wouldn't have been as forgiving as them...

I've had a hard time getting used to the Mitchell/Healey series... I dunno why, cuz I loved the original Mitchell series, I even grew to love Heather and really feel for her but for some reason the kids' I just can't get into...

I also didn't understand the whole Seth thing coming about then nothing happening. She got threatened a bunch and worried him getting out early, but nothin happened with it....

Jax more than made up for his douchebaggery though... he really turned into someone that someone would be proud to be with and lets be honest here.... the sex with him was hot!!!

I adore Jennifer Foor, I love all the stories she writes, even if they make me wanna punch the characters at times. This turned out to be one of my favorites of the Mitchell/Healey series...

5 star read! So happy they got their happy ending <3 Can't wait to see Jax with twin girls :P

I freakin' loved Jax! He is definitely my favorite of the twins! His sense of humor had me doubling over in laughter, but what really caught me by surprise was his ability to be sweet, sensitive, and caring. After leaving home to live on his uncle's ranch, Jax tries to put his life back together without having Jake and Reece throw their relationship in his face, but moving on and regaining trust in his brother proves to be much harder than he imagined. That all changes though after one night at a strip club, where Jax finally meets his match.

Amber is a beautiful, smart girl, who knows how to handle Jax's over-the-top charm and sexual innuendoes. But Amber is battling her own demons and tries to keep her guard up around men. Neither one of them realized just how much they'd change each other's lives, and slowly they begin to heal one another. But is it enough to keep them together, or will fear and insecurities tear them apart?

One again, Jennifer Foor hit this one out of the ball park! I simply adore her style of writing and the way she entices her readers page after page. I'm patiently waiting to dive into her next book and fall in love with her characters all over again!

**I was gifted with a copy of these book for an honest review. Thank you!**

I think I’m in love!!! I wasn’t sure how I was going to like Jax after reading Jake’s book but – I AM IN LOVE NOW!!!

After his brother’s betrayal, Jax takes a hiatus from everyone and visits his uncle and cousins. At a strip club, he runs into the last person he expects to see – Amber, the gorgeous young woman his brother, Jake, had claimed was his girlfriend. And when she turns Jax down for a date, he becomes instantly drawn to her. She only wants to be friends which is fine with Jax.

From the outside, Amber seems like she’s a happy and carefree, but as Jax gets closer he learns she has secrets that are tearing her up from the inside out, and for the first time ever, Jax wants to comfort this beautiful person who’s become his best friend.

In return Amber takes Jax on a ride of self-discovery and growth, forcing him to confront the broken bond with his brother, Jake.

Jennifer Foor has done it again. Love this entire series!

DC with Dayreader Reviews gives this a heartwarming 5 stars!

Jax is still reeling from the sting of losing his long time gf to his twin brother. the first third of the book revolves around the disfunction of his brotherly relationship and how Jax is allowing the betrayal to completely change the course of his plans in life. That is, until he meets Amber. Amber has experienced some life changing moments herself and she can somewhat relate with Jax. Instead of giving in to his sexual prowess, Amber encourages a friendship which is exactly what Jax needs. Of course, their friendship evolves into a relationship and the threatened upcoming reality of distance impeding their relationship becomes too much to bear for the two. Eventually, their feelings overcome the distance and both figure out a way to make it all work. It’s a stand alone read, has a HEA, very little angst, some steamy-ish scenes and an endearing couple; it’s a good read and definitely one-click worthy.

Hands-down, my absolute favorite of this Mitchell/Healy Family spinoff series. I've pretty much disliked most of this series and felt so shocked because i loved the original series. In Jax however, the love is back for me. Something about Jax feels so much like Ty's books, which were my favorites.

Jax and Amber were perfection and their relationship progressed very nicely. I was very much on Jax's side after Jake's book and I'm glad Jax grew from his experience and put everything aside to open himself up to Amber. Loved them together!

The only reason I didn't rate this book 5 stars is because the ending chapters were a bit lacking in comparison to the rest of the book.

Again, I really enjoyed this one. If you've read Ty's books and loved them or Ty's your favorite character; then you need to read Jax.

I get that Jax was the wronged person in the last book, but there is something about Jax that I never warmed up to within the whole series. I always thought he was childish and his pranks not all that funny. While I did think that Jax was still in the childish stage at the start of this book, he sort of deserved to feel like that, he was still hurting over the whole Reece/Jake thing.

I liked Amber, but I had a hard time buying into a romance between Amber and Jax. I did love that Jax was the one person that stood up for Amber, that he ripped her parents a new one, that he did the same to Reece, Jake and his family over his feelings for Amber.

Even with my issues I liked how this one ended, mostly because the last bit at the end is just what Jax deserves, karma can be a bitch! lol

Man those Mitchell twins!!! They will keep you on your toes! Jax has always been the jokester and no one ever took him serious. Known as a ladies man, his family thought he would never settle down. When his girlfriend left him for someone else he was devastated and moved away from his family. Jax wanted to start over in Kentucky and forget everything that happened. When he meets Amber he can't stop thinking about her. She is perfect in every way. But Amber has a past and has a hard time trusting. Can Jax make her see that he is serious and would do anything for her? Can his family see how great she is and welcome her with open arms?

Amber and Jax were awesome together!! They complimented each other perfectly. I think that their story is not quite finished and some things were left unresolved but I'm hoping that there will be another book!

What happens when you lose not only your brother your best friend but your other half of you.

they have always been 1 in everything they do but the ultimate betrayal leaves Jax not only leaving his home but his other half.

no longer able to be look at him in the face he leaves everything behind. Jake betrayed him in the worse way, not knowing if he can ever forgive him he needs space and time to get his head together, his heads to his uncles ranch to help out for the summer, just him and the Jaxinator he doesn't need anything else. But one night at a club and all bets are off when an exotic dancer gives him the dance of his life.

Can 2 damaged souls heal one another only time will tell.

Ok, I am completely in love with Jax Mitchell. Him with Amber even more. Like forever love him. A lot. A lot, a lot.

While Jax is in Kentucky he is alone.  Having spent his entire life as part of the “twins” he’s finding being without Jake a lot more difficult than he could have ever imagined.  Maybe that is the problem, he never had reason to imagine a life without his partner in crime. Fixing that will take more effort than Jax believes it is worth.

Jake doesn’t let him off the hook so easy, but under hardhead in the dictionary you will likely find Jax Mitchell.  He holds on to his bitter anger like a safety blanket.  With Amber he can let that blanket go and be himself. No expectations, no fear, just fun. Once his heart is involved there is no stopping him.
