Sex, drink and rock and roll...Jax's life is a carousel spinning wildly out of control until the woman of his dreams throws a drink at him in a bar and teaches him the power of the word no.

Phoebe Robbins has a darkness of her own. It's been two years since her life derailed in the most spectacular way and she's unwilling to let this hedonistic rock star into her recovery, but he has a knack of getting his own way and she's powerless to resist.

As the two unite to face their pasts together, they don't always take the route well-travelled, but sometimes the destination IS the journey and you don't know what you want until you get there

Jax's story takes a different turn from the previous Darkness Falls books. There is no BDSM, and it is not dark.

Two years after the death of Gabriel, the lead singer of Darkness Falls, the band is still grieving, and Jax is trying to cope with his grief, and the rejection of Noelle, using alcohol and sex.

He propositions a woman in a bar, who finds his come on anything but charming, and throws her drink in his face.

Phoebe is also in mourning, and recovering from the trauma of an injury that has changed her life. Being in the bar where Jax approaches her, is her first foray outside in a social setting in two years. After getting home from the bar, and listening to her best friend singing Jax's praises, she searches Jax's name online and discovers the haunting beauty of Gabriel's voice in the albums of Darkness Falls. Phoebe convinces her best friend Annika to call Jax using the card he gave her for Phoebe, to get them tickets to the concert so she can get the full experience of a projected version of Gabriel, live.

Jax will take the spit-fire anyway he can, so he uses all the tricks he has to stay in Phoebe's space, and convinces her to let him into her life, first as grief-buddies, and then something undefined.

Jax and Phoebe were a great couple to read about. I loved the progression of their friendship, and the steps they took to move forward in their life. There are a lot of ups and downs, with some triumphs and failures to go with it. This was an emotional read, with some eye-brimming moments. It was a very well rounded story, and they seemed to have this natural flow to them where everything just fell into place. There were of course, some bumps and bruises, but there was never any bitterness towards each other, or relationship angst that drove them apart.

I've enjoyed this series, and if this is the last one, I think it's come full circle. All the damage done in the first book has been repaired, and everyone is healthy and moving into something better.

The sex wasn't as steamy in this as in the previous books, but the relationship and character building more than made up for that. I would recommend this book for everyone who enjoys strong female leads, and charming and enigmatic rock stars.

Well this was nothing like what I expected, not that I am entirely sure what that was.

The story had a much lighter feel than the others in the series. One of mutual healing. Jax and Phoebe were wonderful together. Their antic's and the superhero stuff made me smile.

It was nice to hear mention of other band members and my heart still breaks at the mention of Gabriel's name. That said, the story heavily focuses on the two main characters, more so on Phoebe I felt.

My one complaint is that the story constantly bought up Phoebe's 'uniqueness'. It was reiterated so often, I wondered who was trying to convince who that it wasn't a disability.
Picky much? Maybe, but I own it. :)

Even though this is the 4th in a series, I feel it can be read and understood perfectly fine as a standalone story. I highly recommend it to lovers of erotic romance, with two people coming together and healing each other.

So in love with the newest installment of Darkness Falls. A new lighter feel but still the hotness and sooooo much fun. The interaction between Jax and Phoebe is fantastic. I love when I can catch myself laughing out loud when reading a book. And bringing in Gabriel in the story will always make your heart melt. Captain sexy pants will be a book boyfriend for a long time. I know that when I read an Ivory Quinn book, I will not be disappointed and neither will anyone else.

I have read every one of the books in the Darkness Falls series, and I have to say I liked Jax in the other books, but this one made me fall in love with him. The topic of loss hit home for me so I really felt for Jax and Phoebe when they deal with their grief. Don't think that this book deals only with death and loss, because there are some very funny and steamy moments in it as well. I will read anything that Ivory Quinn writes because she is that talented of a writer.

Standing Ovation!!!

I felt everything while reading this book! I destroyed a box of tissues... be prepared dear readers be prepared... I laughed, I cried, I was frustrated, heartbroken, hopefull, jealous... oh yeah and Turned the f*ck on!!! I somehow had forgotten how very much I love Jax! Wow! I can honestly say that aside from the first book where we started this journey and from which I still suffer a major book hangover, (I cry when I read anything about Gabriel ok?) this is my next favorite <3 I did this book in a single sitting in a day I could not tear myself away from it. I have loved Ivory's writing from book one I was hooked on and in love with all the people in Gabriel's world... This book took my breath away! Very well done Ivory! I don't think I can recommend a book any higher!
