Nope. I should have DNFed. I basically hate-finished it, and only because I was home sick and had Alexa read it to me. Only to discover this ends on a stupid cliffhanger, the author actually expecting we'll come back for more of this crap.
This is the worst kind of Kindle Unlimited slop. Not quite fully AI-generated garbage. But it feels like someone gave the author a list of 50 random tropes and told them to somehow cram them all together in the same book. Even when they should cancel each other out.
MC's family is so terrible they abandon her BUT later she willing accepts a terrible contract to erase her father's debt.
She has a scar that makes her hideous and no one can fix it because it was done with a silver brand BUT she comes back later gorgeous with just a hand wave about how it got fixed.
The LI has a terrible reputation BUT is a completely doting father.
The LI wants the MC to stay because they have a contract and his pride is involved AND because she has a miraculous ability to help his sick son BUT he is constantly a jerk to her, making her run away AND THEN he punishes her terribly, making her just want to leave more.
Speaking of the LI, he is completely unlikeable. He slut shames her for merely going to a bar and dancing, kills a man who accidentally touches her, takes her most precious possession just to make her cry, wants her to be afraid of him, locks her up for days because she packed her bags even though she ended up staying (so just for thinking about leaving). He refuses to believe a word she says even though she has not given him a single reason to doubt her. He doesn't want her to be anywhere near other men, but then throws a fit when she has a girls' night. He is supposedly a doting father but doesn't know his children's mother is a monster to them.
This is supposed to be a werewolf book, yet there is barely any mention of wolves, pack hierarchy, shifting, or anything else one would expect. Basically it is an excuse for the LI to have absolute unquestioned authority. And to have a few vague hints that the MC is the LI's "fated mate", which he of course disregards.
In summary, a jumbled mess. The LI is irredeemable. The MC is okay, but not particularly interesting. The smartest and most likable people in the whole book is a set of 5 year old twins who act and talk like kids at least twice their age.

great story, love the book. needs an editor though
The are two reasons I didn’t give this book 5 stars. The first is that it is in massive need of an editor. There are moments when the continuity of the story doesn’t flow properly or the wrong tenses and other language issues hinder the story progression a bit. It feels a bit like this may have been translated from another language but some things didn’t translate properly. I find myself editing those pieces in my head and wishing I could correct them myself LOL! The second reason it loses a star is that I find the main male character to be a bit of a creepy roofie fiend and manipulator as well as a bit emotionally abusive. I still find myself rooting for them though and it doesn’t really hinder the story overall. It feels more like an opportunity for growth or a redemption arc. That aside, this is a fun read. The entire backstory and twists are awesome even if you can see them coming. There’s plenty of tension to keep the story going, though it is lacking in actual romance or any steamy love scenes. While don’t need my books to be filled with sex scenes, it does feel like there’s lots of tension buildup but no culmination. The result is a bit of a let down. So I’m torn with this one. It was a good book though. Worth a read. I honestly can’t wait for the second one.

The way this read and didn't make sense in so many parts... This has to be an AI cus what human would make such mistakes and strange turns.
FYI - a short AI reel got me to start reading this series in an attempt to find out the ending. smh. And still it ends in a cliff hanger smh.

Love it
At first I wasn't sure about the book but once I started I couldn't put it down . I seriously started reading this yesterday and now I am done and can't wait until the 2nd part.

Nice and intrest6
The book is intriguing and nice but has a few mistakes with names that can be somewhat confusing. It is also very long and could have been compacted into less chapters.

Interesting read
Story line keeps you interested. Hope something goes right for Lyric. I kind of like Jace and Kael in this story.

a must read.
I have read many alpha books and this one by far is my favorite. Full of suspense and betrayal. Absolutely love this book.
