Affinities can evolve.

Three words I should’ve taken more seriously.

Things are happening too quickly to process. Truths are being revealed, but many questions are still going unanswered. Through the turmoil, one thing is certain:

I’m done being caught unaware. It’s time for some answers.

I just wish those answers weren’t so painful.

My soul is in knots. My Chain is finally functioning, Wyatt’s attitude aside, but a newcomer threatens our tentative peace.

My guys don’t want to accept him. My friends don’t like him.

He’s lying to me.

One minute he begs me to run away with him and the next he’s pushing me away, self-sabotaging to save himself from heartbreak.

Whether biology meant for us to be together or not isn’t important. Fate has put us here for a reason.

Sometimes the answers to our problems are right in front of us. Now which of us is the question, and which is the answer?

Maelstrom is a full-length PNR reverse harem romance novel, where the FMC will not have to choose between her love interests, with dark themes and adult content meant for readers 18+. Story is written in first person, multi-POV. This is book three of four in the Divine Affinity series.

As with all of my reviews, do not read if you do not want spoilers because I will be letting you know most of the things that happened in this book.

SERIOUSLY. DO. NOT. READ. THIS. REVIEW. IF. YOU. DO NOT. WANT. ANY. SPOILERS. I GAVE THEM ALL AWAY. NOTHING IS KEPT OUT OF MY REVIEW EXCEPT FOR THE CLIFFHANGER. ALL OF THE MAJOR REVELATIONS THAT HAPPEN IN THIS BOOK ARE WRITTEN IN MY REVIEW. IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS, DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DO NOT BLAME ME. IF YOU READ PAST THIS POINT AND GET SPOILED. YOU ARE AN ADULT YOU CAN READ THEREFORE YOU GOT THIS MESSAGE. BUT IN CASE.

FOR THE LAST TIME, DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD. NOTHING, BUT THE ENDING IS SAFE. THE CLIFFHANGER IS THE ONLY THING THAT WAS NOT SPOILED FULLY. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS.

SPOILERS START HERE

Can we talk about what an absolute masterpiece this was first off? Like I absolutely love this and I had to force myself not to finish it so fast because the next one probably won’t be out until the beginning of next year.

Skye. I’ve read some reviews specifically talking about how she’s whiny and how nobody likes her and that she’s a cheater and all of this other shit. What I will say about her situation is this, she learns quite a lot about her family in this book that leaves her with even more questions in regards to what she supposed to do. She’s also feeling extremely betrayed because of things that were told to her. And so messy feelings make you look for something equally messy sometimes. I don’t know how to explain that. What’s making these people in the reviews mad is because Skye and River essentially have a secret relationship throughout this book. Aiden knows about some of it but not all of it. And when the other two find out about it, they feel betrayed. Wyatt more so because of what his father did to his mom. Had they taken a step back? They would’ve understood that she’s in love with him just as much as she’s in love with the three of them. Should she have told them what was going on? Yes but she wasn’t the only one keeping secrets throughout this book.

Aiden. Seriously do not read my next sentence if you do not want my theory. I do not believe Lucille is his actual mother. Nor do I believe Harper is a potential mother for him. I believe he is the child of Regina. You may ask, why did you come to that conclusion? He has a similar power to her, they have similar eyes, and they’re both redheaded, and if you actually read snippets of her from the past she talked about pushing a child out. And she remembers having a baby and that someone took him from her. Now I don’t know exactly what happened and why he was taken from her then but somehow Lucille got him. Let’s also not forget to remember that a revelation about Regina is that both of her Ljnks died. Which is what caused her to go insane. So it’s not out of the room of possibility that she’s his actual mother. Especially when you find out that Avery’s power one of them (in case y’all don’t know who Avery is he is the Crusader) is the ability to compel people like a vampire. So it’s not without reason to assume that how he controls River and compels him to do things as well as the rest of his flock and they have no other choice that he has done this to other people. Especially when it’s written out so plainly in the book if you actually know how to read between the lines that he gives them a command and they have no choice but to listen to him.

Levi. He told us some truth and nobody liked it. Turns out Iris wasn’t his to begin with. She was a Key but Levi is also a Key and she got tested and found out she wasn’t in his Chain but chose to be with him anyway. He’s the one that screwed up in the situation in my opinion because she had her own Link and they could’ve formed a cohesive group by putting two separate chains together, but Levi is a jealous possessive dick who only wanted what he wanted and made her reject the person she was meant to be with. Because to Levi, they already had a child and he didn’t know who this new person was an in honesty he’s in fear of Avery’s power and so he didn’t want him around. Let’s also not forget to mention that he essentially told his daughter that he wished to unalive her most days because of the fact that she was another man’s child and he also feared her power since it passed on from her Father. I don’t like him and I think he needs to go.

Avery. I’m not gonna lie and say that he’s not a villain, but I don’t think he’s the one we really need to worry about. He seems to not be in his own brain half the time. I don’t know if it’s because Iris died or what, but I’m really curious to see how we’re gonna get all of the remaining answers. Like what actually is their goal? Richard Wyatt’s father is a POS and we all know he’s now the one funding and has been the one funding Avery’s Crusade. Because he wants to be a Key and so he was purposely poisoning his own wife so that she would get weaker so that River would be forced to take her Keyness and transfer it to Richard. River said in the book that that’s not possible that that’s something the fates decide and he has no control over that.

Zephyr. Well, he found one of his Links. But I’m almost positive Lana is his as well which makes you think like why she didn’t show up when he got his testing done. I’d also like to know more about her.

Honestly, when you read this book, it’s mostly about River tbh. And I understand why because if you’ve noticed a pattern as we go through the series, each book is about a different one of her people. The first book was Aiden. The second book was Rafe. Book 3 was about River which makes book 4 about Wyatt. Which honestly, I can’t wait to see and that is my opinion on why I believe Richard is actually the villain behind everything because why would Wyatt be saved for last? You know besides the fact that his head is so far up his ass and he just can’t seem to stop making stupid mistakes. He and River could be best friends honestly if they actually sat down and talked about how many times the both of them screwed up.

River. It was so hard reading certain chapters for him because you can see how much he wants to fight against Avery and how much he wishes he could be his own person. Let’s also not forget to mention that as you read the book, Avery knows that he’s getting memories of his birth family and he’s compelling him to forget them to the point where he’s missing days at a time because he’s laid up in bed for that long because of how bad Avery is affecting his head. I wanna talk on Avery for a second and before I go back to who I wrote this one about to begin with. So we know now that as a fully formed chain you’re not supposed to be able to get sick, and cold things like that aren’t supposed to affect you anymore and then when you lose a person in your chain, then that’s when things start going back to like a human type body if that makes sense. So I’m really curious if Avery lost his mind because Iris is gone. Same thing with Regina and her chain. It makes the most sense. It also makes you wonder how Lucille got put into a chain when she isn’t the key. So like I said, I’m like extremely excited to see all of this wrapped up.

River. Back to him you can definitely see you throughout the book how he’s fighting to be his own person and how he’s trying to make decisions based off what he wants and not what he’s being forced to do. You can see how he argues with himself at points knowing that he’s getting closer to her because Avery asked him to but that’s not why he’s doing it. He’s doing it because he wants to be with her, but he knows that once she finds out that he was tasked with her as an assignment essentially that she wouldn’t forgive him. But he hasn’t realise about Skye as if she could forgive Aiden and Wyatt for all their stupid things then of course she can forgive him when at the end of the day it’s not really his decision on whether or not he can do this. Since he can’t fight Avery’s compulsion like other people can.

Noah. You all will not know who this character is until you read this book. His story is so sad and I don’t know if anyone else picked up on exactly who he was and exactly what his affinity is.

Avery. I know I brought him up earlier but like it just makes you wonder at the end of the day why is he doing all of this? What makes him think he’s the one with the divine affinity? Because it’s not him. The seer even essentially basically states that without even like really doing so in a way that subtle but makes you as the reader understand that she’s like no like I don’t know what you’re talking about. Cause I read someone else’s review saying that he needs to go and I agree, but I still don’t think he’s the main villain. I could be entirely wrong, but I feel like he’s just trying to somehow get back to Iris. Because when you read this book and you read the situation, it’s kind of hard not to feel for him a little bit when you hear him explain his side of it and then you hear Levi and how he talks about Iris and Ben and that relationship and that life. In a way it makes you realise Levi was the one that was wrong because look at his son. Zephyr he’s trying to take his chain and another chain and make them a family chain and make them one relationship. Skye is essentially doing the same by adding River into her relationship when he got tested and both of his links are dead. So it’s how can you not understand that at the end of the day like you are capable of loving someone enough to where you can share them. Because to me, it’s how could Levi share Ben with Iris and Iris with Ben, but he couldn’t share her with her own actual link. It’s kind of hard to not make him the villain in this situation.

Richard. I’m telling you right now this man’s gonna be the major villain. Or he’s gonna do something stupid and someone’s gonna try and redeem themselves by taking the brunt of it I don’t know I’m grasping at straws. This book literally is such a masterpiece that you think you know what’s happening and then it throws you into a complete field and you have no idea what’s happening next.

I’m not gonna spoil the ending because I’ve basically spoiled all the major points of this book. But I’m a firm believer and everything happens for a reason and I think Skye purposely planned this ending. Does that make sense? She said I wanna say at the end of book one or the beginning of book two that she was tired of running. I think she chose her moment not to run and decided the only way to infiltrate and take something down is from the inside. Because she should have not survived the ending. Or the cliffhanger in this case. So I think she knows exactly what she’s doing. Or she hopes she does. I honestly can’t blame her for wanting answers so.

If there’s any errors things are repeated or not stated correctly I did speech to text.

But in all seriousness, I highly recommend the series. It is amazing and I’m highly anticipating book for it and I cannot wait to have it in my greedy little hands.

what an infuriating installment in a seemingly good series

I really like the characters and the interpersonal interactions and the premise has promise but this is book 3 and I’m not feeling all the confusion and open secrets.

TLDR; beginning of the book: fine, middle of the book: good, end of the book: annoying. The ending is actually physically painful.

In what world, is the “cult” / “cult leader” that is openly in opposition of the government/Crown/Palace going to be given so much access to the government/Crown/Palace?! Avery/The Crusader literally is opposing the government, k*lling people, taking powers and no one is doing anything. He’s kidnapping people and children and nothing is happening. IT IS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE AND YET NOTHING IS DONE.

It’s annoying the “good” guys are always behind because they keep ignoring the elephant in the room that is the cult.

River knows that Avery has abducted him and knows Gina is responsible for so much destruction and they have used him so gravely, and yet he’s not going to take a chance and tell Wyatt/Aiden/Skye that he needs help??? He knows he can’t trust Avery and he’s suspicious of the Skye and her guy’s but he’s not gonna take a chance? It’s maddening. Especially because, at least with Landon it was well known that he physically could not say things— River never says that so it feels like he’s choosing not to say things.

I don’t know why they are mad at River about Gina when they know Gina is with Avery as a couple and he refers to Avery as his dad logic would tell you that Gina is his mom.

The fact that they all have key pieces of information and just not sharing. Skye knows Noah (from book 1) and yet no one has brought him up. HE IS FROM THE GULF AND LIVES NEXT TO A COFFEE SHOP AND NO ONE THINKS “huh, we should see if Skye knows this young traumatized boy”?!?!?!

Can we trust the Coach?! He’s being weird. Clearly Dani is bad, which is a shame. Levi is the worst and I hate that him and Zephyr are the only black characters and Levi is evil. Zephyr was Super ANNOYING this book. Willow and Mia were also annoying this book. Lana probably could’ve been helpful if we had interacted with her. At All.

“Crazy how people can be so in love when biology planned otherwise.”

The opposition, Avery/Gina, Wyatt’s dad, Rafe’s parents, Skye’s Levi, Aiden’s parents have such distain for Chains/Links/Keys and yet none of them are in their correct Chain and not their chosen Chain trying to aspire to more as if it’s the Chain and government’s fault and not actually a function of them going against Fate. It’s infuriating. The key is not interchangeable so I don’t know why they act like it is. imagine if Levi hadn’t made Skye’s mom choose and Avery had joined the Chain… maybe the overarching story doesn’t exist. Because really what is the overarching story?

Why is nothing clear?? I have to infer that Avery is putting River to sleep and inducing his blackouts but it’s not stated. I have to infer that Avery probably isn’t a natural telepath and that’s why it hurts River. Why are we not just saying what is going on? Why am I the reader still having to guess when so many other things are spelled out? The mystery doesn’t help the story, it makes it annoying.

Ultimately, I loved getting to see Skye and Wyatt come together. If River was gonna have a POV and be a part of the Chain, then we shouldn’t have been on the outs the majority of the story. How is Skye not cheating when she hooks up with River without talking to the greater group? River’s story is sad, it doesn’t make up for how Skye is moving. I liked Skye the most prior to this book but she’s PMO too now! Why are there still secrets? What exactly is the overarching story and plot? What do we want to accomplish? It just seems like a day in my life type story. WHY ARE THEY NEVER IN SCHOOL?! What is the school year??? When Skye and Aiden aren’t there, is school still happening? Or are they on break? Perhaps the book wouldn’t be so long or we could accomplish more things if we weren’t constantly repeating things we know. We know Lucille attacked Aiden, we don’t need to mention it every time we see her. I’m annoyed that we never acknowledged that Skye’s mom was sick because she was forced to be away from her Link… which was obvious from the beginning and even more so now that we know they were not a real Chain. However, Anna Davis could’ve been reintroduced to us.

Skye is annoying cause she’s easily stronger than them. It’s actually really annoying. I don’t care if she went so she could k*ll him. It’s all dumb and needlessly confusing. What a stupid final line.

Like I’m actually really annoyed.

Plot: 4ish/5 • Spice: 3.5/5 ➡️➡️➡️ I really thought this was the end. How many books is this series going to be?

Honestly, now it feels like we’re running in circles. It didn’t really good good until the last couple chapters. When all breaks loose with Mia/Anton/Carla/River/Willow that’s when it starts to get good.

River - Can’t tell if I enjoy him as a character or not. He really seems weak as hell. I do understand his character has been through a lot, but he still seems like a weak bitch.

Wyatt/Rafe & Aiden - I want more for them. Especially for Wyatt. He doesn’t seem like he’s okay with any of these situations. I’m waiting for him to crack.

As for Zephyr and his new blended chain… they seem good. We don’t get much of a conclusion with them.

After Skye hearing the confession about River it genuinely feels like she gives up. What does transporting them to the golf do to save them??

Ends on a cliffy. Now I have to wait forever and a lifetime for book 4. I would not have started this series had I known it
was more than the books that were out. 😑😑😑😑

Ugh….i just feel annoyed at this point.

This series continues to frustrate me because there’s a genuinely interesting story and several characters I want to love buried underneath all the chaos.

By the end of book three, I still feel more confused than intrigued. There are countless hints, mysteries, and “bigger picture” moments scattered throughout the series, but instead of gradually connecting into something cohesive, most of them are just random with zero connection. A story should leave readers curious as they try to piece together what is happening, not confused.

The character writing is another major issue for me. Many of the characters act inconsistently from chapter to chapter, sometimes feeling like entirely different people rather than complex individuals. It doesn’t come across as intentional character growth or hidden motivations. It feels like their personalities shift whenever the plot needs them to. And don’t even get me started on the contradictory relationship dynamics that do a 180 from one page to the next like what happened on the previous page never actually happened.

Also the fated mate/chains system is equally frustrating because the rules seem to change constantly. The worldbuilding never establishes clear boundaries, so it’s difficult to understand how anything actually works. Add in plot contradictions, random threads that make zero sense, and relationship conflicts that get brushed aside instead of being meaningfully resolved, and it starts to feel like fate and chemistry are being used to skip the hard emotional work.

I kept hoping each book would tighten the story and answer more questions, but instead the confusion has only grown. At this point I’m not sure I’ll continue the series. That’s disappointing because I can absolutely see the potential here. With stronger developmental editing, I think this could have been something really special. As it is I just kinda feel over it.

Downhill

The first and second books were good. The plot and characters progressed nicely and kept you hooked in. Granted I’m only 61% into this third book and find myself skipping pages but it’s like a complete lobotomy was done to Skye. The breakdowns and depression episodes bc of the guys is ridiculous. She tells Rafe she loves him but then wants to teleport and flee when hearing something his grandfather did and then a hash out of feelings. A hash out of feelings about Wyatt not moving in. A breakdown bc River fled after kissing her. The plot seems to be taking a backseat to all the moods. Aiden was with the group when they investigated the missing shop neighbors and it doesn’t register when he talks to Noah about his parents missing and that the shop next to his house was a coffee shop. I mean come on. So many clues but no one is putting them together or evenings talking about facts.

I thought book 3 of this series would finally get me invested in the characters and dynamics, but alas I was wrong. I don’t like the characters and they are all annoying me and making me feel ick. The plot itself is interesting and I want to know what is going on but it’s not worth it at this point

SKYESSSSSSSS, WHAAAAAAT?!? (Channeling my inner Willow)

I'm not okay.

"What... WHAT... nOoOoOoOoOo... I can't even rant because I can't keep from spilling SPOILERS!!!" - Willow

I haven't found a series I fell so hard into as I did with The Divine Affinity books. ✨️ I truly feel connected to Skye and her Links. I definitely cried. I laughed so loud I had to slap a hand over my own mouth. Finding a series like this is truly a gift. I had the hardest time waiting between books 2 and 3... now I'm back in the trenches waiting on book 4. 1000% WORTH IT! I will reread the shit out of all the books, AGAIN! When I tell you that this is in my reread pile even as an incomplete series, that's BIG props. I normally don't even start unfinished series. Uhhhhg, I want to shove this series under everyone's noses and demand that they take a huge wift. Okay, that sounds way more disgusting than I intend it to be, but honestly, I'm not even sorry. Wake up and smell the coffee folks! I'll take mine in Iris' blue mug, thank you.

Catherine... keep on, keeping on. You've got this. I'm so excited for your career to take off!! Your talent is palpable while reading your books. Jennifer would be proud.

Maelstrom was a solid 4-star read for me 😌 I’ve really been enjoying this series overall, & this was another fun instalment.

I’ll admit the first half dragged a little for me 😅 There wasn’t a huge amount happening, & there were a few scenes or plot points that felt like they were building towards something… only for them to not really go anywhere. I’m hoping they’re setting things up for the next book because otherwise they felt a little out of place 🤷🏻‍♀️

The second half, though? It definitely picked up 🙌 The pacing improved, there was a lot more action, & the momentum really carried me through to the end. I also loved learning more about River 💛 & the new characters introduced in this book feel like they’re going to be fantastic additions to the cast.

And then there’s that ending… 😭 That cliffhanger has definitely left me eager for the next book! It’s currently planned for late this year or early 2027, so I’m keeping everything crossed that we get it sooner rather than later 🤞🏼😅

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed this series so far. It’s one of those books I pick up when I just want to have a good time. It’s not overly heavy, dark, or complicated, just an entertaining, easy-to-get-lost-in read, & sometimes that’s exactly what I’m in the mood for 📚💛

Well. If I don't laugh I'll cry at this point.

🤯🤯

Thank you Catherine for ruining the perfectly good reading streak I had going on. This slump is going to suck. The whole last chapter gave me ptsd.

Maelstrom is a chunky book but the plot definitely wasn't dragging. Everyone's going through something, there's death and things blowing up and chaos at every turn.

The character growth from Fire Storm to now has been great to read. Some characters still need help with their foot in mouth syndrome (Wyatt I'm side eyeing you 👀) but we're slowly on the up. If everyone survives I'm sure we'll have a great time 😂

As usual, the cliffhanger hit me out of nowhere. I had no idea it was coming which I guess was the point. Still, it got me good 😂

Maelstrom releases 27th June so make sure you download your copy!

Thank you again for the arc Catherine! 🖤

Unfinished series. Book four yet to come. This one is just dragging. 600 pages of complex relationship building, way too long. I loved the series. Pre ordered this third book. I jumped ahead and discovered it's not a trilogy. Another book follows. Several characters are being irritating this time around. I can almost feel it every time Willow screeches and honestly do not care about her at all. I love Skye, but what a moody grump she's being toward her chain. So far, her intimate scenes are just weird. No real judgement but I'm just skipping over the cringy parts. As usual the story picks up in the last quarter. There are several sections that I found confusing. There are so many characters and povs that it's hard to keep up with who knows what. Wyatt and Rafe refer to a new affinity that Skye has, but I'm not sure who did what. This book is a lot more difficult to read than the first two. I recommend an editing for clarity.

AAAA-Maaaaayyy-ZING!

We learn so much in this book. We get answers to questions and there are some unexpected discoveries.

Spice: We get more smexy times. There are relationship ups and downs (I'm looking at you Wyatt). However, I have faith in this chain!

Zephyr and Skye have their first fight. (💔😭) Don't worry, this fantastic sibling duo can't stay mad at each other for very long.

Honestly, every darn emotion this author could pull from us, they did!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series and this book did not disappoint. This will be another fabulous addition to my library on release day.

"I'm not alone." xxxxxxx "I'm so sorry."

I want to sincerely thank C. Marie for this ARC, this book did not disappoint. The writing in this book was so immersive, I couldn’t put it down. The pacing was absolutely perfect, and the (INSANE) plot-twists were well-timed and masterfully written.

Skye’s relationship with the others was realistic and incredibly nuanced. Not once during the entire read did I grow bored—there was always something happening, whether it was something between Skye and her men, or between Zeph, Willow, and Mia (love the goth representation). The diabolical cliffhanger had me absolutely SCREAMING, though. 😭🙏

The book also introduced some interesting new characters, and very interesting new relationship dynamics. ;))

This series is a definite MUST-READ in the Why Choose genre. I can’t wait to see how this series concludes. 🫶

You guys!! Like I don't even know how to feel right now! I AM NOT OKAY!! My head is SPINNING from that cliffhanger!!! Still, with that being said, C. Marie has done it once again with her writing!! She gives enough details to not be dragging or repetitive, but the perfect amount to comprehend what's happening at that moment and gain overall understanding. The character/s and relationship/s development was just the right amount of perfect for book 3. Some developed a little more than others, but there was definitely growth all around. Which has me excited to read the growth to come in the final book in The Divine Affinity series!!

It's safe to say C. Marie is becoming one of my favorite authors!! I just love her writing style!

“I don’t want to be your f*cking friend, Skye.”

THIS. BOOK. I could not put it down once I started. I was hooked into the characters development from the previous books and with little pieces coming together my mind is being blown! And I’ll just warn you now, this book ends on the ultimate cliffhanger but I’m not upset- only that I don’t have book 4 yet, but it was epic! I honestly didn’t see that coming. I thought Skye was going to do something else and then BAM! She did something else.

This book was spicy- lots of spice- and even a c*ck cage coming into play. There’s push and pull, tension like no other, but love and sacrifice at the front of it all.

OMG!!! I got an ARC and was so excited to dive in, but was not expecting it to be this good! I mean I loved and devoured book one and two, but wow!! Loved the new characters and so excited to see them become more developed in book four. The cliffhanger tho!? 😱 Actually sad I have to wait for book four now. Can not wait to see what happens next. The character/relationship development we got in this book was amazing, loved all the scenes and can not wait to get more! honestly can not pick a favorite mc, which is usually not hard for me to pick, which shows how great all the characters are. Catherine did amazing and her books have became my favorite rh fantasy series!

This series just keeps getting better and better! This definitely has the biggest cliffhanger from the series so far and now I don’t know what to do with myself. No spoilers because ALOT happened in this book that blew my mind. There were so many emotions while reading that I did not expect. Some new, very unexpected chains formed in this book that will blow your mind. I loved the humorous moments between the guys and I’m so ready for what’s next so I can finally know what happens after that last chapter.

Overall I liked the story line. In the first book, I actually liked the FMC.... unfortunately, I liked her less in the second book, and even less in the 3rd book. She was just all over the place and a hypocrite, constantly complaining about how no one told her anything and blah blah blah, but then continually lied and kept things from everyone... so like shut up. Willow was definitely my favorite, then Rafe second. Would I recommend? Eh. And now I have to wait for a 4th book, I honestly probably wont even read it. This shit pissed me off.

For the next book I’ll bring a bucket and a mop in advance because I am IN SHAMBLES. I had the luck to be an ARC for the book and let me tell you, I wish I could go back in time to tell myself to take my time with it and not devour in a day. Skye and her Chain get even more complicated but where’s the fun without some angst ???

The spice is very, very good and ms C. Marie delivers on 3/3 now. PLEASE MAAM I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOWWWWWWWWW

Obsessed with this ARC! It was so great to see Wyatt and Rafe's relationship further develop in this book (though they still have more to go - but that is what is great about this series. The relationships continue to grow throughout rather than instant bonding by the end of book 1). Loved seeing the relationship with River grow as well. And the bodyguard?! Adorbs. Waiting for the finale eagerly.

Maelstrom, book three, completely took my breath away. Getting to know River was everything, and the swoon factor was off the charts. And of course, Wyatt, Rafe, and sweet Angel Aiden brought even more heart, charm, and all the irresistible goodness. I am absolutely obsessed with the Divine Affinity Series! Each book keeps raising the stakes with more drama, stronger chemistry, and even better character development. There is no lag, no filler, and honestly, it will keep you on your toes, no notes. I loved every second of this series and cannot recommend it enough!

I was so excited for this series to continue because I loved the first two. But this one was a disappointment. Way too much back and forth and really nothing happening. The end finally picked up a bit but it dragged in the middle. I don’t usually take this long to read a book. I’ll read the last book to get the ending but I just hope it’s edited down a little better.

Of course this series couldn't be a trilogy.

I thought for sure this book would have the ending!! I mean why does there have to be a fourth book!! I told myself I'd NEVER start reading a series until it was complete, but here I am again, foaming at the mouth for prob another year until I get my next fix! Whyyyyy do they have to be soooo good?!?!?

Ok, I didn't realize that there would be a fourth book...😅🙄
Things between River and Skye got more complicated, as did Skye and Wyatt's relationship. This guy is really a piece of work (or an asshole, whatever you prefer).
The plot was thickening, and at times it made me a bit confused about the characters true intentions.

Wowwww, this was so good. I can’t believe I finished it so quickly, the character development and the story line was great. The cliff hanger at the end has me in a chokehold. The multiple POV was great as well. Cannot wait for the next book!!

Excellence

I am weeping! This book had me in a chokehold. Skye has grown so much from the first book and her Links! I love them all but Wyatt is my favorite. Throw in Zephyr and Mia, Willow and Lana… I will be sitting and waiting for book 4.

I need text book ASAP!

Oh my gosh! What a cliffhanger! Skye protected her guys and now has to get herself and River to safety. Her Dads got to go. How can one person be so evil and ruin so many lives? I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the final book!

Can't Wait for the Next Adventure

First to author, I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your friend. This book was just as well written as the other two and I can't wait to see what happens next. Beware everyone, because that cliffhanger was a butt kicker.
