Five brides for five brothers…at least that’s the deal the Daltons have struck with their boys. Each son must marry in order to inherit a piece of the ranch they love so much.
Beck Dalton is one of the most arrogant, immature and infuriating men Sabrina has ever met. But he also happens to be the father of her child. Trouble is, he doesn’t know it. Over a year ago she made the mistake of giving Beck a second chance—then a third. Mostly because he made her fire burn hotter and brighter than with any other man. But having toe-curling romps in the hay with him didn’t make her stop wanting to bash him over the head with a large, heavy object.
The part-time school teacher sent Beck into fits of insanity—right before she drove off with his clothes and truck, leaving him naked in the middle of nowhere with nothing but his guitar and cell phone. At least he’d had something to pass the time. Now the woman he’s never forgotten has walked back into his life. And she has a secret.
What she’s holding has blue eyes that scream “Dalton boy,” and there’s no denying the infant’s parentage. When Beck not only discovers he’s a daddy but his child and the mother are homeless, his honor forces him to do the right thing even as he wants to throttle Sabrina.
She’ll let Beck help her get on her feet, but that doesn’t mean she has to like him, does it? Too bad her body remembers every breathless moment spent with the rugged cowboy.
This was cute and quick and fun. I'm definitely interested in the rest of the Dalton clan.
Beck was immature and totally into himself when he and Sabrina first started out as a couple. One day when the condom breaks he handles it like an immature jerk so she leaves him stranded naked stealing his truck. He spends the next year a a half thinking about Sabrina and what a big shit he was to her as well as working on maturing himself.
Sabrina comes back into Beck's life because she's homeless and needs help with her their son. With Sabrina back in Beck's life he decides to show her just how much she means to him and that he can be relied on for more than just their son. He can be a husband.
2.5 stars rounded up... A year and a half ago, Beck and Sabrina had a 6 month fling while she was substituting for a teacher on town. He wasn't a good boyfriend or even any kind of boyfriend. He would forget, show up late, and never invited her where she might meet his family. SO EVERYONE is surprised when she shows up 1.5 years later with a baby (Ben) that looks just like Beck. And yes, she kept Ben a secret. In the time in between, Beck has changed. Her leaving effected him more than she though it would. She has had a difficult time trying to be a single mom in an economy that has teacher being laid off more often than hired. So Beck is her last resort. I liked the MCs and the side characters but I found the interactions and reactions kind of baffling. The story happens over just a few days. She moves into a spare room and it's just back and forth in action and thought on BOTH their parts, so that I felt like I was sitting on a ping pong table. It was like both of them only looked at things in black and white, all or nothing. It didn't make sense that they couldn't just agree to date or work out some kind of compromise while they got to know each other again. I ended up skimming a lot after the first third. Then the ending was kinda a weird shift in focus.
3.25 Stars I usually don’t care of the theme of the secret baby. A man has a right to know he is going to be a father, unless there is abuse involved. I felt bad for Beck and had a hard time relating to Sabrina. I love the scenes between father and son.
In a previous book we saw Beck left nekkid on the side of the road with only his guitar....well in this story we get to meet Sabrina, the woman that left him (rightly) there! I enjoyed this sweet romance and who doesn't love secret baby!?!
Cowboy Secret was an enjoyable read. I loved reading about Beck and Sabrina and the second chance they were given. Beck and Sabrina used to date, but Sabrina could only take so much and a broken condom was the end of it. She comes back to Beck after losing her job, needing a place to stay. What I really loved, was how caring Beck was, not only to his son but towards her as well. He didn't drag her through the mud for keeping their kid a secret. Yes, he was mad, but he forgave her. So Yay for Beck. This is actually my first book by this author, but I will definitely be checking out the previous books.
This was my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed it. It was well-written and very sweet with some funny moments thrown in. I loved Beck. He was done so perfectly well. At the beginning, he was immature and carefree, and when Sabrina comes back, he's buckled down and matured. And I gotta admit, I'm a sucker for a secret baby plot. This one was done really well. All of the emotions Beck and Sabrina had were real and valid, great relationship building.
The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It was a bit too abrupt. And I don't really like . It's just a bit too easy - like now they have to be together instead of wanting to be by choice. I think Beck was good enough to win any woman on his own.
Anyway, overall, I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely go back and read the rest of the series.
Another great novella in the Dalton series. This features baby brother, Beck. He has been in a deep funk since he was left in the woods with nothing but his guitar and cell phone by a beautiful part-time teacher, Sabrina, over a year ago. He is totally surprised when she returns with a cute drooling blue eyed surprise. She is homeless and jobless and determined not to make the mistakes her parents made and to make it on her own. Beck is mad and has his hands full because Sabrina won’t fall into his arms like before. Lots of cute babies and family and fresh country air.
What a great way to get the baby of the family to grow up. Present him with a 6 month son. Although Beck had finally decided he needed to mature long before Sebrina decided to show up on the ranch. I love how the whole family never doubted that the baby was a Dalton. These 2 interact with feelings of hurt from the past. I love how they made their way past that.
Wowsa I absolutely fell in love with this story from the beginning until the end. The characters were absolutely awesome and the storyline rocked and found myself a little jealous of the love Beck and Sabrina share and just b.c. absolutely loved this book.
I loved this book. I am reading all of the Dalton brothers in order. Each one gets better. The real life struggles as well as the HOT sexy scenes were my favorite
This is the 4th book in the series of 5 brothers searching for their brides. The characters in the book are all so warm, loving and real. The family so welcoming and truthfully I'd love to share a meal with them! Wonderful series!
This story really resonates with the times nowadays. People separate on bad terms and feelings aren't explained. this story make you feel for them hoping everything will work out.
This was another awesome Dalton brother romance. With a lot of emotional feelings and love. Beck and Sabrina are one wild pair. But Owen takes the cuteness factor.
Beck was the craziest bad boy she had ever met. He didn't respect her wishes for her career and was very immature. Sabrina wasn't putting up with his foolish ways until she didn't have a choice.
This was one of the best books yet. I am so happy that they found their way back to each other and that sabrina gave up on trying to leave with their son.
This was a fun easy read. I've fallen in love with all of the characters in this series I was so excited to see Sabrina back and the surprise baby was a fun twist.
Look at the cover what's not to love! Really this is a good story, that's part of a great series. Each book covers a brother, all were great characters. This author has yet to disappoint. Love the audio option.
Love the Dalton Boys and this one is no different. Beck is an arrogant childish ass. And that behavior is what causes him to loose his girl Sabrina after an argument over a broken condom. A year after she is gone, he still wants her. No other woman is even catching his eye. Sabrina comes back into his life, no home, no money, and with a blue eyed baby boy. Of course Beck is pissed, but because she kept Owen from him. They have to work things out of course but both are stubborn as mules. Not gonna give any spoilers here, but there is a HEA to this. There are time you wanna slap someone and other times you laugh and love with the characters. As with all of Em Petrova's books I have read, you are drawn in and become part of the book not wanting to put it down. I actually had dreams about these characters after reading.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review
When Sabrina stranded Beck Dalton on a deserted road late one night, not only did she take his clothes, boots and truck, she took his heart. Unable to stay in Vixen she left without seeing him again. Eighteen months later, unable to find a decent paying job or pay her bills even after selling everything she could, Sabrina doesn't see a choice except to go back to Texas and that infuriating, immature man!
Since Sabrina left Beck with only his guitar and phone in the middle of nowhere he's changed and grown. He wasn't prepared for Sabrina to come back into his life but when she hands him a bundle of joy named Owen, and she shares how roughly life has treated them, there's no way he isn't going to pursue his inheritance of a piece of property he can't get without a wife. Rating: 3.75stars
Mmmmmmm, another Dalton boy falls hard. Beck reminds me of so many fun loving country boys that never realize what they have until it's too late. Beck and Sabrina are on fire, until he pushes his luck and she leaves him. Never intending to have to face him again, Sabrina never tells him about her pregnancy-- his child.
The heat, emotion and chemistry between Beck and Sabrina draws you in and never lets go. I could not put this book down. I really enjoyed the POV's from both of them as the deal with their long buried feelings and fears and dreams of futures.
“He needed her like a gallop across the fields at dawn…”
This is Book 4 of the Dalton Boys, but can be easily read as a stand alone.
Sabrina couldn't be more wrong! Can Beck keep his hands...and mouth, off her long enough to prove her wrong? To prove to her that he is more than just a sweet treat? Can he show her he is aman who wants more....he wants everything! Another instalment of steamy, sexy loving Dalton style, complete with enough fireworks for 4th July! What I like most about this series is the Dalton family growing, whilst each book is a standalone the cast of previous and future books also feature, making it almost feel like you are returning to visit family with each new book you read.
This was the first book I’ve read by EM Petrova and I liked that while part of a series, it could be read as a standalone.
After Sabrina left him (I won’t spoil how but it was funny), Beck realized that he needed to man up and get over his selfish/childish behavior. After she comes back, she had to get over her preconceived notions of him. Fun stubborn characters, dynamic scenes, plot twist, very enjoyable read. I didn’t want to put it down and upon completion, went and bought other books in the series.
Note: I did receive a copy of this book for an honest review.
I looked a the cover of this book and thought...If I touch it is he mine? Em Petrova sure found the perfect cover model for Beck and the perfect story for Book 4. Who would have thought rolling around in the grass and a little accident would give him such a surprise a year and half later and boy what a surprise Owen was. This book was had a range of emotions from lust to hate to fear to madness and then of course in the end you get that good old Dalton love, As with all of Em's books you have a good amount of heat and lots of loving,
