Honest and Relatable

This book is one of those books that just feels real from start to finish. I’ve had the chance to meet the author, and this reads the same way he shows up in real life—thoughtful, self-aware, and honest.

What stood out to me most is how genuine it feels. There’s no pretending to have it all figured out. A lot of what he talks about felt really familiar to my own journey, which made it hit in a different way. It kind of makes you stop and think about your own experiences and question how you might show up differently in your own healing process.

It’s definitely the kind of book that challenges you a bit, but not in a heavy or overwhelming way. There’s a lot of honesty in it, but also a sense of understanding and hope.

If you’re someone who’s been through some difficult or challenging things and is trying to grow from them, I think this book will really resonate.

I have been following this author’s blog and was so excited for his book debut. Josh has a uniquely beautiful author’s voice. While the book is filled with practical suggestions and action steps, it also contains vivid imagery and metaphor. He draws on his own personal experiences as well as researched methodology. I use many of these same tools in my counseling practice. Easily one of my favorite reads of the year, and I look forward to more of his work!
