If you grew up watching Charmed and have been chasing that feeling ever since… read this book! 🩷 The nostalgia had me locked in!

I don’t say this often, but I actually wanted this book to be LONGER! I wasn’t ready to leave this world or these characters.

Now I’m over here crying because I have to wait for book two to be published. 💔😭

What to Expect:

😈 Demon MMC
🔥 Opposites Attract
💞 Forced Partnership
📖 Stolen Grimoire
👭 Three Witch Sisters

“A book can transport us to other times, other realms, other levels of consciousness. A well told story, fictional or factual, is a balm on a weary soul, a key to unlocking the gates of wisdom, a journey by which the armchair adventurer can’t help but be wholly transformed.”

Book: 4.25 ⭐
Audiobook: 5 ⭐

This was an all-around good fucking time especially in my ear holes. Huge shoutout to MLA for the advanced listener copy because I fucking loved every single second of this audiobook.

Picture this: an FMC who’s a bit of a hot mess express (in the best way), paired with a sophisticated, uptight professor demon who’s training her to use her magic. Like… come on. What’s not to like? The banter was exquisite because this is full-blown opposites attract. She’s flirtatious, blunt, bold, and high👀🤭 a lot of the time, while he’s all buttoned-up, reserved, and ridiculously proper. The accent was absolutely perfect for his character.

These two had me cracking the fuck up. I know it’s kind of weird to call this a feel-good book because… it’s a demon romance… but I swear I just felt so good reading it. I had the biggest fucking cheesy grin on my face for pretty much the entire book. I loved every interaction they had, and I especially loved the way she pushed his buttons. I got such a kick out of it.

But hey, the plot was also so freaking good. Three sisters lose the mother they were estranged from after growing up in foster care. They return to the house she left them and✨surprise✨ they’re fucking witches. They had absolutely no idea. So now they’re uncovering their family history… well, mainly our FMC is. The other two sisters spend most of the book being skeptical, while she’s basically like, “Hell yeah, I’m a witch. Let’s fucking do this,” and dives in headfirst.

This FMC is hilarious and an absolute fucking menace. Someone tells her, “Don’t go into the basement,” and she immediately follows a ghost into the basement. LMAO.

I also loved the magical witchy house. The vibes were immaculate. It cooked, protected them, and was everything you could possibly want from a witchy book. There was even a grimoire.

I’m low-key so jealous of everyone who gets to listen to this during spooky season because it’s absolutely perfect. Charmed was one of my favorite shows growing up, and this scratched that exact itch. Honestly, this is where my love for demons came from I had the biggest fucking crush on Cole. So anything paranormal with witches is always going to do it for me. I eat that shit up every single time.

And this audiobook was done so fucking well. Samantha and Shane are two of my favorite narrators, and they absolutely killed it together. Their chemistry was incredible, and to top it all off, you get a little kinky demon spice.🔥😈

If you’re looking to have the best time ever, laugh your ass off, and maybe even get a little emotional along the way, then you absolutely need to read this book.

Actually… read it with your ears PLEASE.

Did I pick this audiobook up PURELY because it's got 2 of my favorite narrators narrating it? ...maybe.

Genuinely, sometimes the narrators make the story. Brentmoor and East do such a brilliant job bringing these characters to life. From the hot mess that is Lizzy to the straight laced professor Merrick, to the godawful men out to kill Lizzy and her sisters and steal their magic, the audiobook production is flawless.

The story itself has a good plot, a cast of hilarious, interesting, even infuriating characters, magic that promises to get bigger and better as it goes and a nostalgia that reels you in.

The stakes are appropriately high - there's a cult of evil men after the sisters, and they get close to accomplishing their goal of killing them and stealing their family's magic about halfway through this story. I wasn't expecting things to get so (ahah) heated so quickly, but was pleasantly surprised that Piper doesn't hold back from the action. The pace is fast and filled with intrigue and danger. There's secrets being exposed around every corner. Lizzy learns about her family history as she's learning about her magic so we're getting background without being bored to tears. At no point did this story bore me.

If you enjoyed the show Charmed back in the day, pick this book up. Because it's literally the same vibes.

There's really just oneeeee thing that dragged this one down for me.

I don't loooove the substance abuse. I don't particularly care about people smoking weed or drinking in real life (if it's not like, an actual problem, obviously). But there's something about reading it in books that just... I find it a bit off-putting. Lizzy's constantly smoking or drinking (I don't mean just having a glass of wine with dinner here, I mean for the sole purpose of getting hammered) or something in this book. Literally every other paragraph she's got to mention her drug addictions, so casually, as though it's not an actual problem. Being drunk and/or high is practically her entire personality.

Now, I know there's probably a bit of a reason for this particular quirk for her. She and her sisters have had sort of a rough life since their mother sent them away. Lizzy perhaps most of all. STILL. She's still smoking to deal with her issues and drinking to stay buzzed at the end of the story and it just...I wish there'd been a bit more character growth. I'd have loved to see her temper those habits in favor of learning her craft or something.

The way it's handled not as a problem but as a casual recreation for her bothered me. If it were treated as the addiction it is, maybe it wouldn't have. But nobody - not her demonic boyfriend, and not her sisters - seems to care that she's always under the influence of SOMETHING. Even at the end of the story when the stakes are still high and there's still danger lurking around every corner.

Call me a prude if you must, but I just don't think you should be doing drugs or drinking alcohol when there's THE WHOLE WORLD to save, y'know?

This book was clever enough and interesting enough that I don't know why the choice was made to make her a stoner who stays under the influence.

That one thing aside, I had a really good time with this story and wouldn't mind continuing with the series when it comes out.

It’s been a while since I’ve read anything from Sarah Piper but the summary sounded fun and I thought, “Why not?” I do have to say though that the very first part of the book - the very beginning,- had me seriously thinking about DNF’ing. I think it is just a me thing, but the FMC Lizzie just seemed to put me off immediately. It felt like the character was trying too hard, and her behavior felt way over the top. And this was all in the first chapter.

Luckily though, Lizzie’s character does do quite the turnaround and while she continues to be impulsive and somewhat abrasive, it doesn’t feel so grating. (At least to me)

The story revolves around three sisters who find out that their mother has passed away and they are inheriting her house and all of her belongings. Unfortunately, their mother deserted them when they were children and the sisters struggled through the foster care system until the oldest sister Rachel turned 18 and was able to adopt them and try to provide a home for them. So, needless to say, the sisters do not have fond feelings towards their deceased mother.

To top everything off, the mother was a witch. Yep, a witch. And she was in charge of THE portal into demon territory - keeping the balance of magic in check and making sure that only the demons who were allowed to use the portal came through. REALLY important duties.

The sisters learn that they are witches as well, but their mother bound their magic when they were young. Not one of them has any clue about magic, or witches or demons. The house is somewhat sentient and their mom also had a familiar. LOTS of new information was thrown at them and each sister reacts in a different way

Then we have the demon side. We meet the MMC Professor Merrick Sutherland (a demon very proficient in demon history) who gets the job of going topside to be the one to tutor and train the witches in their new duties and responsibilities. He then discovers that they have NO magical experience at all - so he adds “Train them in magic” to his list of responsibilities.

Merrick is a really adorable character. His human form wears glasses and tweed jackets and his entire world revolves around books, literature, and indexing and cataloguing something or other in his library. He is also a bit of a stick in the mud, but so so cute.

Out of the three sisters, Lizzie is the only one who really believes any of this new information, so the two of them begin working together. Oh, there is also some bad stuff happening so the caretaking of the portal is very important.

The book was cute. Lizzie did continue to irritate me at times, but I think after a while, she grew on me. The overall plot was one of those that you kind of had to suspend any ideas of believability but once you did, it was fun to just hang on and go along for the ride.

I assume this is going to be a trilogy as there are 3 demons and three sisters with Lizzie and Merrick being the first couple.

Will I be continuing on with this series? Yes, I think I will.

Thank you to Must Love Audio for the opportunity to listen to an Advanced Listener's Copy (ALC). All thoughts are my own.

This hot and hilarious urban fantasy rom-com is the perfect book to listen to if you're someone who loves witty banter and crushing on your hot demon professor. I found myself giggling numerous times throughout this book because the main female character was super funny!

I also enjoyed the slow-building romance between Lizzy and Merrick. The narrators (Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East) did a great job bringing the chemistry for these characters to life. I was so engaged with all the snark and sass that Lizzy threw at Merrick.

This was truly perfection. The banter, the carefree FMC, the very pompous nerdy MMC, the humor, the magic, and the NARRATION.

Honestly, I think this is a audiobook you don’t want to miss out on. Samantha and Shane did an INCREDIBLE job bringing these characters to life. Like truly, so much personality, it truly is an experience.

I loved this story, I can’t wait to continue reading what’s to come.

Quick rundown?….

3 sisters go back to their mothers estate after her passing, only to find out they’re….. witches. While the others are reluctant to embrace their powers, Lizzy; the pot smoking, day drinking carefree spirit she is with nothing to lose after running away from her cheating ex boyfriend on the other hand, is all in.

And who’s she getting trained by? Oh just the super SUPER uptight extremely nerdy, hates people, rather be reading but very hot demon, Merrick. (Honestly, same lol)

The dynamics in this book are so fun. Like truly, I’m not exaggerating when I say there’s A LOT of banter. Good banter. Lizzy is something else, and I love her so much!

Definitely recommend if you like magic, LOTS of banter, powerful women, and hot demons.

🔮 Paranormal Romcom
🔮 Witch x Demon
🔮 He Falls First
🔮 Yearning
🔮 LOTS of Banter
🔮 Sentient House
🔮 He’s uptight, she’s…. very much not.

This book was a whole VIBE!! It’s a witchy demon rom-com and let me just say, it hits HARD on the rom-com part! I was literally laughing out loud not even 2 minutes in, and it kept going the entire book. That’s what I call an amazing rom-com! And of course it’s paranormal, so I loved that we got both witches AND demons!

Our story follows Lizzy, our FMC, who had no idea she was a witch. She and her sisters get the news of a lifetime when they’re reunited after being estranged. But life doesn’t stop there. Turns out they aren’t just normal witches, they’re the crossroad guardians keeping peace between the realms. The sisters don’t believe it right away, but Lizzy? She’s ALL in. So what does she do? Investigate how to use her powers!

Besides figuring out her powers, so much more goes down… but I won’t spoil that. You’ll have to read it for yourself! 😉

This was done in duet-style narration and I wouldn’t have it any other way! These two did a FANTASTIC job. I love how Samantha brought out Lizzy’s sassiness and sarcasm, and how Shane made Merrick so delectable with that sultry voice of his! Their range for the other characters was amazing too!

I can’t wait to dive into book 2 and I hope these two narrate it, because I’ll absolutely be waiting for the audio!

Also… “never trust the mushrooms” & it’s ALWAYS the frat boys! 🍄

😈THE GOOD WITCHES GUIDE TO BAD CHOICES BY SARAH PIPER🩷CHARMED BY DEMONS BOOK 1 OF 3
🎙️PERFORMED IN DUET BY @shaneeastreads & @ms_brentmoor

Sometimes a story comes along that reminds you exactly why you fell in love with an author in the first place… and that’s exactly what The Good Witch’s Guide to Bad Choices did for me.

Sarah Piper has always had this incredible ability to completely pull me into her worlds. Her humour, her beautiful prose, the depth of her characters and the way she balances laugh-out-loud banter with heartfelt emotion is why she’ll always be one of my favourite authors. This book reminded me of everything I fell in love with years ago, and honestly, it made my soul so happy to be back in one of her worlds.

If this is what Sarah has in store for us with this trilogy… honestly, inject it straight into my veins.

And then she gave us Merrick Sutherland…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… nobody does a hot nerd quite like Shane East.

Merrick is brilliant, socially awkward, ridiculously swoony and completely devoted to his books. He’s trying so hard to stay proper while teaching Lizzy to harness her magic before the world goes to hell, but watching this uptight demon slowly unravel for his sunshine witch was absolute perfection.

One of the many reasons I adore Sarah’s writing is that she always seems to know exactly what readers want. She gives us unforgettable characters, top-tier banter, beautiful slow burn, just the right amount of yearning and worlds you never want to leave. Some authors entertain you. Sarah reminds you why you fell in love with reading in the first place… and that’s a very special kind of magic.

Sarah writes slow burn exactly the way I love it. Nothing ever feels rushed and nothing ever drags. Every lesson, every sarcastic comeback, every stolen glance and every vulnerable moment builds this relationship so naturally that I never wanted it to end. One minute I was laughing out loud, and the next my heart was aching with the yearning. That’s the magic of Sarah’s writing.

But then there’s the audiobook… and this is where the magic goes to another level.

Knowing how much Sarah loves audiobooks, I honestly couldn’t shake the feeling that Merrick was destined to have Shane East’s voice. I genuinely can’t imagine anyone else bringing this ridiculously hot nerd demon to life. Shane captures every layer of Merrick so effortlessly. He’s awkward, brilliant, vulnerable, incredibly swoony and completely obsessed with his books. He’ll absolutely tear your heart out one minute and then melt you into a complete puddle the next. Once again, he proves that nobody does a hot nerd better.

Samantha Brentmoor is the perfect Lizzy She brings so much warmth, humour and heart to every scene, making Lizzy’s sunshine personality impossible not to love. Her emotional range is incredible, and the way she effortlessly voices Lizzy, her sisters and every supporting character is so impressive. Together, Shane and Samantha have the kind of chemistry that makes duet narration feel completely effortless.

Huge kudos to East House Productions because the production quality is phenomenal. There were so many moments it genuinely felt like I was listening to a full-cast production.

And can we please talk about Warren and Oliver? Their scenes with Merrick had me laughing so hard, and Shane’s Scottish accent was honestly worth the price of admission all by itself. The banter between the three of them was absolute gold.

If you grew up loving Charmed, Buffy and Supernatural like I did, this series is going to feel wonderfully nostalgic while still being completely its own thing. Witches, demons, magical chaos, found family, laugh-out-loud banter, beautiful slow burn and a demon who falls first… I couldn’t have asked for more.

There seriously aren’t enough stars in the universe for this one, and if this first book is anything to go by, I already know this trilogy is going to become another all-time favourite.

Audiobook Review 💜
↳ The Good Witch’s Guide to Bad Choices by Sarah Piper
Narrated in duet by Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East 🎧

I don’t think I’ve laughed this much at a book since… well probably the last Sarah Piper book I listened to! From page one I was fully engrossed. Lizzy is such a mood. I love how unapologetically real she is. Merrick is her polar opposite. He’s nerdy, loves books more than people and just wants to be left alone to read. Honestly can relate. Also a mood. 😂

Anyway, you put them together on page and it’s magical (pardon the pun. Sorry not sorry). I LOVED the banter, the unexpected camaraderie they found. He was smitten from the get go and she just made all the innuendo she could find. The mystery, the romance, the banter, it was an amazing time!

As always, the audiobook was phenomenal. But it’s Samantha Brentmoor after all. I will never get over how complex her range is. The characters she portrays are all so varied and having listened to her performance in The Devil Made Me Brew It, I knew she could play drunk like no bodies business. Turns out she’s an excellent stoner too. 🫣😂

All jokes aside her performance here is pretty special. She has the perfect mix of vulnerability along side impeccable comedic timing. Lizzy holds so much trauma and vulnerability and hides this behind a happy go lucky facade. I won’t spoil anything but there’s struggles Lizzy has that I can relate to (not the weed!) and she so effortlessly combines all elements of her character into something wonderful and unique.

Ah Mr East… how do you make a demon sound so angelic?! Truly an incredible performance here. Comedic timing alongside the effortless delivery of some stellar dialogue. I love this duo together, and it’s so easy to tell it was recorded live in studio because the chemistry is fire. Kudos to the producers, this was spectacular. If there is any footage from the studio for this one like there was for The Devil Made Me Brew It, please let a girl know!

And if anyone has similar recommendations, slide into my DMs please and thank you! 🩷

I was so excited for a new Sarah Piper book! As with all her books, this amazing urban fantasy romance is filled with colorful characters, delicious suspense, and sharp wit. Lizzy Bonnivarde is a bit of a lost soul who has been disconnected from her two sisters and most recently from her cheating boyfriend. Called home after her mother’s death, she learns that she and her sisters are the last in a long line of witches. Not the news she was expecting! She comes to embrace it with gusto though. Professor Merrick Sutherland is the hot, nerdy demon sent to train her, and it’s not long before he has her wanting to embrace him too. A little difficult when the socially awkward professor doesn’t like to be touched though. I loved watching Lizzy gain confidence as she strives to be a good witch and seeing Merrick open his heart after a painful past.

I have always felt that the best stories of any kind are laced with humor. In the midst of Lizzy’s training sessions and even some other worldly tense moments, Sarah makes us laugh. She also gives us heartfelt moments as the sisters rebuild their relationship, swoon as Lizzy and Merrick realize their intense chemistry, and sit on the edge of our seats to see what happens next. The action and suspense are definitely intense as the Bonnivarde sisters face the threat of witch hunters out to destroy them. As Sarah writes, a book is its own magic, and this one is brimming with it!

Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor give incredible performances in this wonderful audiobook. Samantha’s vulnerable yet strong portrayal of Lizzy perfectly reveals her growth as she comes into her new reality. Shane is so adept at conveying Merrick as the socially awkward nerdy professor who also has a commanding presence. This talented duo make this audiobook an incredible listen!

The Good Witch’s Guide to Bad Decisions by Sarah Piper is a delightfully chaotic paranormal rom-com that blends humor, magic, and sizzling chemistry into an entertaining start to a new series. The story follows Lizzy Bonnivarde, an aimless witch who suddenly discovers that embracing her magical heritage might be the only way to prevent an apocalypse—and she has to work alongside the frustratingly attractive demon professor, Merrick Sutherland, to do it.

Lizzy was easily my favorite part of the book. She’s messy, impulsive, and often makes questionable choices, but that makes her growth all the more satisfying. Watching her go from drifting through life to stepping into her power gave the story a strong emotional core. Merrick is the perfect counterpart—intelligent, secretive, and more than a little arrogant. Their banter crackles from the start, and the slow shift from reluctant allies to genuine feelings felt natural and engaging.

The book shines when it leans into its humor and found-family vibes. The relationship between the witch sisters adds depth beyond the romance, and the magical world is fun without becoming overly complicated. The romance is definitely spicy, but it never overshadows the character development or the larger supernatural stakes.

If you enjoy witchy heroines, demon heroes, laugh-out-loud moments, and a healthy dose of steam, The Good Witch’s Guide to Bad Decisions is a charming and entertaining read that leaves you eager for the next installment.

Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor do a great job narrating this story.

4.5⭐

Three estranged sisters reunited after the death of their mother discover they are actually witches. Their magic had lain dormant their entire lives until they return home to their mother's house.

Lizzy, the youngest, is the first to have her magic restored when the first of three demons from hell come to help train her to use her powers. Dr Merrick Sutherland is an adorkable British demon who was once a human. He has been tasked with training the sisters. Also, the demon overlord wants Merrick to gain access to the sisters' grimoire.

The main characters have great banter and excellent chemistry. The story was well crafted and leads to a logical storyline that will encompass all three sisters in their individual books.

The book does not end in a cliffy (yay!) but the story is still open ended with a bit of a plot twist at the end, where book 2 will pick up. She's usually quick to turn out subsequent books in a series so the wait shouldn't be very long 🤞🏼

The spice is like a 1🌶️. There's not a lot of spice and it happens at the end of the book. This was a little disappointing compared to previous books she's written. But if you're not big into spice, there ya go.

Audiobook review: Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East do a fantastic job reading this story. I give the audio 5⭐

Flashbacks to my Charmed era and the power of three. This book is for all the Charmed/Buffy fans out there. We’ve got the power of three with our sister trio (with the protective big sister, the peacemaker and the wild child) and we’ve got our Giles, the sexy librarian professor. Merrick and Lizzie are the perfect opposites attract couple. He absolutely exudes his Awkward nerdy professor aura while Lizzie channels her inner wannabe witch. His patience with teaching her, his insistence that he does not feel for her, he’s just irresistible. Lizzie is absolute chaos and I loved that. She does not fit that mold and that’s what makes her a success. She is forever underestimated until Merrick, he sees her and helps her be all that she was born to be. I loved their banter, the ways she goaded him and the way he inevitably gives into his feelings. This is she falls first, he falls harder and I love that for our girl. She deserves that kind of love. And that doozy of a bombshell at the end, cruel form! I am waiting anxiously for book 2.

I knew before I started that this was going to be a fun narration. It’s Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor, you know it’s going to be wild, chaotic and slightly unhinged and that’s the way we like it. This right here is my dream narration pairing, these two never fail to deliver a good time and make me love every minute. Their portrayal of Merrick & Lizzie had me cackling.

(Duet Narration Audiobook) Lizzy and her sisters return to their hometown after their mother passes away. They’ve all been estranged, but discover things about their mother when they arrive. It turns out they’re witch’s, albeit Lizzy’s sisters are in denial of that fact. Merrick, a demon, is sent from Hell to help Lizzy develop her powers and recover the family grimoire.

The humor in this book was great, and Lizzy was too funny. I loved the play of straight-laced Merrick and spontaneous Lizzy just spouting nonsense at him. Samantha Brentmoor is such an amazing narrator and she played Lizzy so well. From her manic energy at times, but also her heart and desire to become a good witch was evident in Samantha’s work. Shane East is also a favorite narrator of mine, and I love his voice! He played Merrick’s stuffy professor vibe perfectly.

We don’t get a lot of Lizzy and Merrick as a couple, and I would have liked to have seen more of that. The book is pretty plot driven, and I enjoyed it. It kept me entertained the entire time. While the book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger in regards to Lizzy and Merrick’s relationship, it does set up the rest of the books in the series. I can’t wait for them to come out!

There is literally nothing like starting a new book and hearing Samantha Brentmoor’s voice. It’s like coming home to an empty house with nothing but time. Then you add Shane East, and not only was your house empty but there’s fresh baked cookies waiting for you! And just when you think it can’t get any better, that book makes you laugh out loud from start to finish. This is what it was like for me to read The Good Witch’s Guide To Bad Choices by Sarah Piper. Great story, hilarious banter and some of the most lovable characters. Lizzy the reluctant witch who didn’t know she was a witch and Merrick the adorkable, upright demon, who is just a book girlie at heart are so sweet and their tension is palpable from the very first meeting. But as always they both hold secrets that could either keep them apart or bring them together. Their love story is definitely a slow burn but these two are an inferno when that fire finally catches!
Samantha as Lizzy is perfection, her timing, her voice, the emotion, everything is just so good. And Shane does such a good job of making Merrick confident but never insufferable. He leads with his intelligence but the way he does it is so endearing.
I had an absolute blast with this book and I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here

if the shows charmed Buffy and supernatural had a baby!!!

I absolutely had such a fun time, listening and reading this book! If you love paranormal romances and you’re also a fan of romcoms this book is perfect for you because it’s a paranormal romcom! And if that doesn’t already get you excited if you were a fan of the big three paranormal shows Buffy, charmed and supernatural then you’ll definitely love this even more! Think of it as if charmed in supernatural had a baby because the story follows three sister witches just like in charmed and three different demons just like supernatural! Book one follows Lizzy, the youngest sister and a demon named Merrick and I don’t wanna get too far into it because I want you guys to experience this for yourself! But Lizzy’s character is so freaking funny. She just blurts out the most random things throughout this and you can’t help but fall to your knees laughing because she’s that funny and then just Merrick being socially awkward about what she’s saying. If you also like a forbidden romance trope, Merrick is technically a demon sent to train the sisters about their new witch abilities so you have kind of a student/teacher trope if that’s something that you enjoy as well.

The good witch’s guide to bad choices book 1 in Charmed by Demons series by Sarah piper.
Lizzy is the hilarious main character with her 2 other sister that return to the family home after their mother‘s death only to find out that their witches and that they have to protect a portal to stop Demons from entering their realm.
Merrick is a demon that is basically a sexy librarian that get given the job over see Lizzy training in protecting the portal.
I absolutely love that Lizzy is a free spirit live life to fullest type but merrick is by the book strait laced.
As always SP wrote the most amazing character full personality and depth but I also really appreciate that the character like merrick wear glasses and describes as sexy with them and not convince to remove them to look better or more appealing.
Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor do the most amazing job bringing these characters to life but i adore that it’s in a duet as well.
Cannot wait for the rest of sisters and merrick best friends to get there book and audiobook hopefully done be by same narrators.
Bought the ebook for 99p as well. Get it while it’s on sale on kindle.

Thanks, Sarah Piper and @mustloveaudio for the ALC.

Lizzie Bonnivarde is in a pickle. Her boyfriend is cheating on her, she's being evicted, she's been fired and now she has to go meet her estranged sisters because their mother (who abandoned them) died. Well, at least there is an inheritance...

What she doesn't know is that the inheritance is a sentient house, magical powers, a lost Grimoire and a portal to protect. And this portal comes with a 'peculiar familiar' and a professorial demon to teach her in the magical ways.

As Lizzy triers to embrace her witchy side, her sisters still treat her like the "slacker stoner" and she can't fight the feelings surfacing for a a very charming demon.

The audiobook is performed in duet by Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East and you can tell in their performers that they had a hell of good time reading this. You can actually feel the fun. Samantha plays Lizzy as  young, sassy, and very much the slacker stoner who wants a new purpose. Shane is delightful as the uptight bespectacled demon who has ulterior motives but gets betrayed by his own feelings for 'Miss Bonnivarde'.

What you get: a paranormal rom com filled with witchy and demonic shenanigans, family drama, witch hunters, a very different familiar, bonding with sisters, an ex from hell, 'he falls first', love declarations, supportive fellow demons, truths revealed and a fun HEA.
I can't wait for more of the witches and the demons!

Content notes (including but not limited to): child abandonment, use of recreational drugs, cheating (not MCs), violence, psychological child abuse, PTSD from said abuse

The Good Witch's Guide to Bad Choices was a fun, quirky, paranormal romance. It had a lot of humor, mixed with a slow burn romance. This was my first Sarah Piper book, and I had a great time.

Lizzy and her sisters find out they were actually witches after their mother passed away. Lizzy was just hoping to get an inheritance since her life is a mess, but now she learns they are responsible for keeping the world safe and their grimoire has been stolen.

Merrick is a sexy, bookish, professor demon sent to train the witches to protect the portal. Lizzy is the only sister open to this new reality, and she begins training with Merrick. They had great chemistry and banter.

I enjoyed Lizzy's character arc in this book and watching her come into her own. Merrick was an adorable, swoony demon.

I am definitely intrigued for the sister's books next.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

🎤Duet narration by Shane East & Samantha Brentmoor

Samantha Brentmoor showcased Lizzy's chaotic, fun-loving spirit perfectly. Shane East was tailor-made for the broody, nerdy demon. The duet narration made this such an enjoyable listen.

Thank you to Must Love Audio for providing the ALC.

*My ending reacting: OOOOO I KNEW IT!*

Thank you to Must Love Audio for the ALC copy of this audiobook! The duet narration by Samantha Brentmoor & Shane East was perfection as usual!

Well this was such a fun listen! I’m actually shocked it was such a slow burn as I’m used to Sarah Piper books burning hot & fast. But I really liked that we got a ton of page time for backstory of the sisters & the demon trio. 3 sisters & 3 demons? Sounds like a perfect trilogy set up to me 🙌😂

Anyways, in this first book we get Lizzie: the younger, slightly off the rails sister, who comes to find out that she comes from a long line of witches entrusted with protecting a portal between the human & demon realms.

Then we have Merrick, the demon professor/researcher, who is sent by the powers that be in the demon realm to 1. Teach the new witches how to use their powers, while 2. Convincing them to turn guardianship of the portal over to the demons.

There’s actually a lot more plot going on behind the scenes than I expected, and it was fun to listen to something a bit different to my recent usual. I will absolutely be reading the next two books in the series!

I haven’t read a Sarah Piper book in a while and this one reminded me why I love this author. Her stories will have you hooked to the point you never want them to end! I’m extremely excited for this series to continue because I already need and want more!
We follow and Lizzy as they learn each other as Lizzy learns to harness her magic. Merrick is brilliant, swoony and completely devoted to his books until Lizzy comes and shakes his professional demeanor. Lizzy is the sunshine witch Merrick didn’t see coming. He falls for her hard and it was so wonderful I couldn’t help but smile! The author makes you feel every emotion right along with the character and the banter keeps you coming back for more. And the audiobook brings this book to a whole new level. The characters come alive as Shane and Samantha narrates. Shane puts the nerdy/ swoony character on full blast and I couldn’t get enough of it. Samantha gave Lizzy warmth and heart. I couldn’t have asked for better narrators then these two truly did these characters justice!

**Audio Review **
Witch, please! The Good Witch’s Guide to Bad Choices by Sarah Piper was a wild and witty paranormal romance that did wickedly good things to my heart. I couldn’t get enough of Lizzy and Merrick’s hilarious banter and slow-burning chemistry that had me pining so hard for these two. This is book one in Piper’s Charmed by Demons series, and I can’t wait for more.

Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East perform this audiobook in duet-style narration, and their comedic timing in this one was spot on. Samantha’s light, expressive tone embodied all of Lizzy’s sass and strength as she learned from Dr. Sexy and made it her mission to find the family grimoire. Shane’s regal, grumpy tone conveyed all of Merrick’s uptight and broody demeanor as he slowly revealed his vulnerable layers. Both narrators had me cackling and blushing with the slow-burn-so-good undeniable chemistry between Lizzy and Merrick.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of a paranormal romcom with an idle stoner witch, a moody demon professor, the hunt for the family grimoire, demon portals, a witch in training, witch hunters, annoying exes, supportive sisters, spell casting, Mary Jane smokes, witty banter, he falls first, shape shifters, intimate conversations, love declarations, a jaw dropping betrayal, and a HEA that will cast a spell on your heart, then you will love Lizzy and Merrick’s story. I look forward to more from Sarah Piper.

4 ⭐ 2 🌶️ 5 🎧

This was such a perfect palate cleanser. Hilarious fun with just a touch of heartwarming moments with a Grumpy demon, a chaotic witch and her fragile siblings relationship while she attempts to save the world.

I absolutely adored Lizzie and watching her grow throughout this story. I wasn't sure how to feel about her sisters in the beginning... But they started to grow on my towards the end and I'm excited to get to know them better in their own stories. Especially their demon soon-to-be boyfriends.

The suspense and plot were exciting and had me on the edge of my seat at times and I'm really looking forward to how the series progresses in this regard. The cliffhanger was a doozie 🙈 and I can't wait to find out more.

The audio was perfect. Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor are always such a dream team, but never more so than when they're being their chaotic selves and I loved it so much. Thank you to Must Love Audio for the advanced copy!

I was so excited to get this book, and it didn't disappoint. I became a SP fan after The Devil Made Me Brew It, and I devoured a lot of her catalog after that. I still have more to read, but a new one is always a good thing. I was fortunate to make her A R C team and get an ALC!!

First of all, the banter... omg that banter. Sarah Piper can write some great descriptive ways to say things that had me LOL-ing the entire time. The characters were fun, even though I wanted to choke a few at different times. Overall, I am so excited to continue this series and anything else she writes!

The audio... duet narration with Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor... what could be better? They were perfect in this one!

I listen to this book and I would give it one star but I love Shane East/ Steve West’s voice. For him it would get 5 stars.

The story was painful. I get the humor that was trying to be archived but goodness Lizzy was so annoying always worried about getting her next fix. I know that was her personality but it made it super difficult to take anything seriously with her. Like maybe stay sober 5 seconds and learn this shit.

The other 2 sisters played background noise in this book. They will probably get their own books. The oldest sister is rude and standoffish and the middle sister had the personality of a damp tea-towel.

There were a few funny party but not enough to make it enjoyable. Will not continue on in this series.

If you’re looking for highbrow, literary perfection, look elsewhere. But if you want a fun, witty, and downright chaotic magic ride that will actually make you laugh out loud in public, this is it!

It's the ultimate easy read with snappy banter and brilliant grumpy x sunshine energy. Is it Shakespeare? No. Is it utterly entertaining and a guaranteed mood-booster? Absolutely.
And can we talk about Samantha Brentmoor for a second?! She is my absolute, all-time favourite narrator, and she completely blew it out of the water once again. The story gets a very solid 4 stars, but Samantha’s narration easily gets 5,000 stars.
A proper good chuckle from start to finish!

The Good Witch’s Guide to Bad Choices is a supernatural rom com about a new witch and demons. Lizzy and Merrick were total opposites but the chemistry between them was so undeniable and the banter was top tier. Their slow burn romance pulled me in and I didn’t want to put it down. The story was fun, emotional and entertaining.

Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East narrate this story in duet. This duo was perfect for these characters and absolutely crushed the banter between Lizzy and Merrick. They did an amazing job bringing out the personality of their characters and both had amazing performances. Thank you to Sarah for an audio copy.

This is the first book in the Charmed By Demons series and it was a fun read. Lizzie was a hilarious FMC. She was impulsive, a little flighty, joyous and didn’t always make the right decisions. The banter between her and Merrick was a hoot. I loved when she said something that flustered him. I snorted out loud many times throughout the book. Lizzy became more confident in herself when she leaned into her witch lessons and had the support of Merrick. I look forward to more stories with the other sisters and their demons.

This is a good time book 📖

I loved this book! It was hilarious 😂 and well written. She is a stoner and his a straight laced Demon/professor. The audiobook was just too good. I didn't need to touch the kindle as the audio book Duet narration was so fantastic and I had to giggle a few times, through out. This is the 2nd book I have read that is written by the author. The other was "The devil made me brew it.". That was also hilarious. I am putting this author (Sarah Piper) as a favorite on my list.
