"Be very careful what you set down in the grass of Cornwall… Because the world is much bigger than you realize. One only has to be small enough to see it."This is the story of a girl who spilled porridge on the side of St Michael’s Mount and earned herself the adventure of a lifetime.

Olivia Loughty has been shrouded in darkness for as long as she could remember. Her little-black-dog has trailed at her heels for most of her life, so she gave up searching for the light long ago. But when Olivia's childhood best-friend requests that Olivia scatters her ashes across the country, Olivia is set on a path that just might help her find the light once more.

Olivia finds this on the side of St. Michael's Mount. There, when she sets down her food, the pixies that live within the grass appear to collect their offering. Killian, the pixie who finds Olivia, offers her what many of Cornwall desperately try to obtain - a gift from the pixies.

"Saoghal" -- the world of the pixies that Killian offers her to visit, is everything that Olivia has ever dreamed of. Sunrises and sunsets, powerful magic in the air, and unique and unnatural creatures. But the strict traditions and unforgiving rules of Saoghal have caused a revolution, and Saoghal is under attack.

Alongside Killian, the warrior-like pixie who found her, and Raegan, one of the princes of Saoghal, Olivia won't waste a second trying to save the world that has saved her. It's a good distraction as she tries to avoid the fact that day-by-day, she's falling for more than their world. She's falling for them, too.

All the while, Olivia has to ask are her new friends on the right side of this revolution?

Thank you to the author for the ARC! That’s not a tear in my eye, okay, Raegan just put too much cayenne in the porridge! 😭

I loved this story with all my heart! the characters, the magic system, the politics, the animal companions, the mental health representation.

Olivia finds herself in the land of pixies, and dives in headfirst into their world. With brooding Prince Raegan, always smiling Killian, young Niamh, and mysterious Shea, Olivia finds purpose and slowly starts to find her own light again.

I got completely sucked into the world of Saoghal and I’m very sad it came to an end! I need more!

Review of an advanced reader copy provided by the author.

Where Broken Wings Fly is a romantasy told from the POV of Olivia, a vet going through depression who accidentally gets transported to the pixie world where she learns to find the light again.

One of the things I loved most about this book is how the author integrated the pixie world into the human world. Their world is simply on a much smaller scale than ours— a whole village could be underneath a tree root— and they have medicinal powders that erase our memories of them. This made me believe that maybe pixies really do exist in our world. She did such an amazing job at describing their world: each kingdom had unique customs, aesthetics, clothing, and architecture. Her writing really brought them to life. Not to mention the animals in this novel! I absolutely loved the incorporation of not just “fantasy” animals like dragons, but also more mundane animals like panthers and foxes. Because after all, their world exists in conjunction to ours.

The author also did an amazing job of balancing the lightheartedness of innocent, child-like awe and the more serious tones of war and politics. The pixie world is described through the eyes of Olivia so we feel the same genuine happiness she feels when she sees the magic and magnificence of the kingdoms. However, we also get undertones of the war brewing in Saoghal. Another thing I liked was how we are unsure of whether the enemy really is an enemy because Olivia questions the purpose of the war. As an outsider, she sees past the hundreds of years of conflict and realize that maybe the enemy isn’t all bad.

Now let’s discuss the characters. I absolutely loved our FMC Olivia. She’s so kind and stands up for her own beliefs despite going through mental health issues and was written in a way that seems realistic. I could imagine her being my neighbour and not some girl that only exists in romantasy novels. She has a depth to her that makes her relatable. It was nice to see mental health being represented in this way— where although she’s struggling, she still does her best each day— to the point where she would seem fine to anyone. This quote from the novel encapsulates this perfectly: “for someone who claims to have spent so much time in the dark, you seem to be untouched by it. Your heart remains true and strong and pure, and for that I am thankful.”

As part of the main cast we also have Killian, Shea, Niamh, and Raegan. I loved that Killian was introduced as the outgoing and fun character with a soft side and Raegan as the broody prince, but then you find out that there’s more to them than just that! The friendly banter between the four of them was so nice and refreshing! Each character has a unique personality and their own motivations that makes them easy to understand and connect to.

The romance was also exquisitely done. It felt natural and organic, not forced due to some external factor like being mates for example. Although the concept of mates does exist in this novel, it works quite differently from the conventional ways we’re used to which really helped the romance develop realistically. You could feel the chemistry and tension building throughout the novel and as a fan of slow burn, I was happy their first kiss didn’t happen until the last 1/4 of the book!

All in all, this was a wonderful read and a perfect escape from the harshness of everything that is going on in the world. I cannot wait for the second book of the series and once again get to experience the magic of Saoghal.

I just finished Where Broken Wings Fly and wow, Molly Frances wrote such a beautiful 5 star story. The emotional depth in this book was incredible and the characters felt so raw, vulnerable, and real. You could feel the heartbreak, longing, healing, and hope woven through every chapter.

The writing itself was stunning too. So many lines carried this quiet ache that just stays with you long after reading, especially this quote:

“Residing in my eyes was the shadowed mourning for a life I could not live, which appeared in his eyes before he blinked it away.”

And honestly, the yellow cover was the perfect choice. It gives off such warm, comforting energy while still matching the tenderness of the story inside.

The characters were absolutely perfect. Raegan, Killian, Niamh, and Shae made the story feel so alive, and the found family dynamic between Olivia and the pixies was one of my favourite parts of the book. The slow burn romance was beautifully done too, building so naturally alongside the emotional journey of the story. I also loved how Olivia showed that kindness, gentleness, and having a soft heart can still make a difference in the world. That quiet strength meant so much throughout the book.

Advanced Reader Copy

* One thing I loved about this book was that the writing is easy to read. Some books, the author tries too hard to describe things or their writing style just doesn’t click with me. But I found that I really enjoyed Molly Frances’ writing style.

* I love the mental health representation and how Olivia’s depression isn’t shown by her just being sad and numb, but by a majority of her thoughts being negative, especially in the beginning of the book. She still has moments where she’s happy or annoyed and I liked how accurate that was. Depression isn’t always about being depressed ALL the time, it’s about feeling negative way more often than you feel positive.

* Killian ❤️ he’s a tease but also so sweet. Almost immediately he’s gentle and patient with Olivia because he knows she needs that. He’s the kind of person I would love to be friends with.

* The one thing in this book that I wasn’t fond of was, the emotions of the characters were slightly confusing because they seemed to jump from one emotion to the next. One second a character will be smiling at the main character and then they’re frowning at her with no explanation or reason as to why the mood has suddenly changed. But that does improve the more you read. You just have to read past the beginning of the book.

* It took me a while to start liking and understanding the characters because their emotions switched up so quickly that I couldn’t get a good grasp what everyone’s personalities was. But it got much clearer later on in the book what all their personalities were as well. By the end of it I loved all the characters.

* Raegan 💗💗

* This is the first book I have read of this author’s and I liked this book a lot. I liked it enough that if I ever come across another book of hers, I’ll definitely read it.

5 out of 5 stars!

As someone who has also felt they have spent all their life lost in the dark, I loved this book so much!

Olivia was an MC that I could relate to, so much that I felt that I was her. Depression doesn't always make you feel sad all the time, and I'm glad an author was finally able to put it into words.

Unlike Olivia, I don't have a friend that will send me on a quest that will change my life.

This story is absolutely amazing from start to finish. The world building is perfection! I wish I could live in the world of the pixies, Saoghal. (Not Little People!)

I would swear that Ms. Frances was one of the pixies that lived there just by the way she describes the world!

The first few chapters were a bit slow as Olivia started her journey, but once Killian brought her over,

BAM

So much happened at once, but the story never seemed to be rushed at all, even with all the side characters we met.

I normally would say which of my side characters were my favorites, but I can't choose just one! It did take a bit for me to warm up to them, but there are at least 3 pixie size wholes in my heart where they wormed their way through.

Molly Frances' world of Saoghal digs its claws into you and won't let you free, not even until the end.

I rarely describe a book as unputdownable as I despise that word, but this one?

I would say it was very hard for me to put down, even with a greedy cat demanding attention.

I can't wait to see what adventures await for Olivia and the others in the next book!

3.75 ⭐️ First off thank you to the author for choosing me to be an ARC reader and bookfunnel. This book had all the right ingredients for me to love it but it kinda fell short of the mark. I liked it but didn't love it. I enjoyed the premise but I think what fell flat for me was the writing style and over description of things. I liked the characters and felt for the fmc as I've dealt with my own depression for years. There was a lot going on in this first book. There's Fae, dragons, other realms, warfare, friendship, some romance, politics, deception, loss, grief, and more. I may continue with the series just to see how the author let's things play out.

Firstly, thank you to the author for an ARC!

I quite liked this! I think that this is overall a well-written book that has heart and makes you care about the people and the world within.

What I Really Liked:
Olivia was well written, multi-dimensional, and was a good person because she's a good person not just for the reader to like her.
Despite them being fair folk, it didn't have the same vibe as a lot of faerie work that has been published the last while, the world felt whimsical, dark, interesting, and teetering off the edge of modern with some of its rules/way of living.
The romance had a really great pace! There are many romantasy books where the characters are banging it out before half, and that's fine! but it was refreshing that Olivia learned who these new people were and became friends with them before there was anything physical; it felt more realistic and natural to me.
The tension and build up (particularly the climax) is written well so you are constantly wondering what will happen next, how a problem will be solved, and how characters are going to respond to their circumstances.

What I Didn't Like As Much:
As easy as the writing was to read, there were times where it felt clunky and I would have to reread a sentence to understand it (I also feel that using "male" and "female" slowed the pacing and felt awkward each time).
There were a few details that I personally felt were either too loose or didn't hold up, such as mates, why Olivia felt so strongly in affairs she knew nothing about, and Killian tells Olivia not to trust anyone, including himself just after she arrives, but there really isn't a reason why or anything that comes of that, at least that directly affected Olivia and the reveal at the end gave no inclination for Olivia to have had suspicions or to think back on what Killian had told her.
I personally could have used more descriptors of people (including Olivia!) because honestly, I barely knew what anyone looked like while I was reading, besides the fact that Choilltean pixies had very dark hair and eyes and wore leaf clothing.
Killian, Raegan, Shea, and Niamh felt one-dimension for quite a while (but they do eventually become fleshed out and are enjoyable, mostly realized, characters!)

I wouldn't particularly call any of my "negatives" major and I really did like this book! The ending also felt unique as compared to other fantasy books like this one, which certainly leaves the reader wanting more-I know I do!

Thanks for reading my review and thanks again to Molly Frances for the advanced copy!

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

This was a very enjoyable read! We follow Olivia as she's brought into a world of pixies, a place that helps her find the light after years of darkness. The insight into Olivia's mind and the emptiness she felt, further deepened by the loss of her best friend, was written very well and I often found myself tearing up.

This book surpassed my expectations in terms of the setting and the world that Molly builds. Growing up with Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom, I was immediately hit with nostalgia as we learnt more about the tiny pixie kingdoms, what they looked like, what they wore, and of course, their animal companions. It was a whimsical, bright, and colourful world that felt like a breath of fresh air - wouldn't mind falling into it myself!

The characters each had unique personalities and their banter was great. Found family never gets old, and Olivia finding friendship amongst them made for many funny, heartfelt, and heartbreaking scenes. It was also great to see a soft and strong FMC who didn't have to train/fight in order to contribute meaningfully to the conflict at hand. And I loved the conversations she had with both members of the love triangle building throughout the book - made it difficult to pick either one. However, I'm generally not a huge fan of love triangles, and I was slightly dreading the choice throughout the story given that the candidates are practically family.

Slight nitpicks about dialogue and actions between the main characters - felt just a little immature at times for my taste so it took me out of the story occasionally. I also found certain parts/conflict resolutions to be slightly lacking after so much buildup on the conflict Saoghal was facing (not to say that it wasn't done well, just that there was a little something missing).

Overall it was a fun read and hard to put down! And I would definitely recommend this to fans of escaping into a good book with a whimsical pixie world, found family, and earned romance. I am highly looking forward to seeing what happens next!

What stood out to me most about Where Broken Wings Fly was how effortlessly it captured a sense of wonder while telling a deeply heartfelt romance.

Where Broken Wings Fly brought the childlike wonder and excitement of Tinker Bell together with a more adult side: political unrest alongside a sweet romance story. The world of Saoghal is brilliantly created, evoking vivid imagery along with complex but very clearly communicated characters and politics.

One of the things that stood out to me most was Olivia as a main character. She is such a sweet and strong FMC, written with a feminine authenticity that truly brings her to life. Despite her struggles with mental health, she knows exactly who she is. She is resilient while remaining gentle, and she never feels ashamed of that gentleness. It made her feel very real and deeply endearing.

Unlike many romantasy novels I’ve read, the romance in this book is earned rather than forced. The characters have real conversations and feelings. Nothing feels pushed toward an agenda or a convenient plot point. It leans more toward character-driven storytelling and emotional connection than fast paced action, which made the romance feel especially genuine.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I must admit, a bit ravenously. I could hardly put it down. This is the kind of book I would highly recommend reading in your comfy chair with a hot drink and no place to be for the next several hours.

I’m impressed by the level of detail in the world and characters Frances brings forth. Everything feels thoughtfully developed, and this book has become one of my comfort stories. Readers who enjoy cozy fantasy, fae worlds with animals as friends, and romance that builds naturally over time will likely love this story.

I’m genuinely excited to return to Saoghal and see where the story goes next.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Because five stars simply aren’t enough.)

You know those books that you finish… close the cover… stare at the wall for a solid five minutes… and suddenly question how you’re supposed to be a functioning adult again?

Yeah.

Where Broken Wings Fly did that to me.

The plot? Incredible.

The characters? They moved into my brain rent-free.

The ending?

✨ Absolute perfection. ✨

Not because it was flashy or over-the-top… but because it was exactly what the story deserved. Every emotion. Every choice. Every page led to an ending that made my heart feel impossibly full.

And then there were the quotes…

🖤 “He didn’t look at me like I was some broken thing in need of repair. He didn’t offer me words to stitch up wounds that didn’t need stitching.”

As someone who spends her days trying to help people… that one hit me square in the chest.

🖤 “My duty and my heart live on opposite sides of me, and I cannot decide which one I should let win.”

Because honestly… haven’t we all been there?

And then this…

✨ “The world is much bigger than you realize. One only has to be small enough to see it.”

I actually stopped reading for a minute.

Just… wow.

This wasn’t just another book I enjoyed.

This is one I’ll recommend over and over and over again.

So if you’re scrolling through your TBR wondering what to read next…

🚨 THIS. IS. YOUR. SIGN. 🚨

Move Where Broken Wings Fly straight to the top.

Read it.

Love it.

Then come find me, because I have feelings, questions, emotional damage, and I refuse to process all of it alone. 😂📚❤️

I cannot wait to dive back in and see whats next!!!! Seriously. Take me away to this beautiful place and leave me there for the rest of my days!!!

Book Review: Where Broken Wings Fly by Molly Francis

Where Broken Wings Fly by Molly Francis is an enchanting fantasy novel set between two pixie kingdoms on the brink of war. Blending elements of political tension, a compelling love triangle, and richly imagined fantastical creatures, the story offers a deeply immersive reading experience.

One of the novel’s greatest strengths lies in its vivid and sensory-driven descriptions. Francis masterfully brings the world to life through intricate details—readers can almost see the vibrant hues of flowers, observe the diversity of insects and animals, and even imagine the delicate textures of wings and petals. The level of detail creates an atmosphere that feels both magical and tangible, drawing readers fully into the setting.

The characters are equally compelling. Their emotions, struggles, and relationships are portrayed with authenticity, making them highly relatable despite the fantastical backdrop. Readers may find themselves emotionally invested, easily placing themselves within the story—either alongside the characters or walking through the beautifully crafted environments.

While the novel begins as a slow burn, it rewards patient readers with a richly layered narrative that gradually unfolds into a captivating and imaginative journey. Once fully immersed, the story takes hold, engaging the reader’s imagination and maintaining its momentum.

Overall, Where Broken Wings Fly is a beautifully written fantasy that combines immersive world-building with emotionally resonant characters. It is highly recommended for readers who enjoy detailed storytelling, slow-building plots, and richly imagined fantasy worlds.

I wasn’t ready for this book to be done. Desperately clawing at any chance to sink back into Saoghal, I cannot wait for the next book.

Where Broken Wings Fly by Molly Frances follows Olivia, who has always had a cloud of darkness around her that feels all consuming. But not everything is as you expect when pixies come to retrieve their offering.

The world building is immaculate, with so much beautiful detail that you get lost in the world of Saoghal, and all of its brilliance, right along side Olivia. The story sucks you in, refusing to let go, even as you flip the last page. This is one of those stories that will stick with you well after the book is done.

The characters are so unique and interesting, with personalities that differ from one another, making you fall in love with each and every one of them. Olivia isn’t one of those hero’s that gets swooped into a story and comes in swinging. Her kindness and her ability to empathize are what make her unique and powerful. Between Killian and Raegan, and Shea and Niamh, I don’t know who to love more. This group that feels like the best found family, will bring so much warmth and comfort, you can’t help but love the whole group.

The writing is eloquent and vivid, as each part of the story shows you a bit more of their world and how it differs from our own. Now I want my own Urram. Overall, I really loved how this story played out and kept me on the edge of my seat and didn’t want to leave. I’ll be patiently (not so patiently) waiting for more. Beautifully written and captivating, this unique story is one that will stick with me.

Thank you to Molly Frances for a copy of this ARC!

Where Broken Wings Fly surprised me.

What begins in grief opens into a richly imagined fae world shaped by healing, conflict, and a slow-burn romance that truly feels earned. Following Olivia as she honors her best friend’s final wish—scattering her ashes in Cornwall—grounds the story in loss before it slips into something far stranger and more magical. And yes, dropping porridge in the forest and accidentally making an offering to pixies is exactly the kind of fairy-tale logic I was here for.

This felt, at times, like A Court of Thorns and Roses filtered through a Hobbit-like woodland atmosphere, with a grown-up Thumbelina energy layered over themes of grief, found family, and emotional restoration. The world-building is intricate, often beautiful, and full of creatures, courts, and folklore that feel deeply lived in. Some of the writing around depression, hope, and relearning how to live again was genuinely moving.

My one hesitation was the pixie politics. At times, the court maneuvering and war-driven plot slowed the momentum for me. But the complexity pays off. Because when the romance finally arrives—and this is a true slow burn, with spice not landing until near the second-to-last chapter—it feels deserved.

And that ending was a happy surprise. Some endings overstay their welcome; this one left me yearning for more.

If you like fair folk romantasy, emotionally layered healing journeys, found family, magical creatures, and romances built on yearning rather than instant gratification, this is worth a look.

Until next time, Saoghal. ✨

1🌶️ Spice

I am obsessed with Molly Frances’ writing, and Where Broken Wings Fly is no exception. This fast pace action, slow burn Romantasy hooked me from the first chapter and didn’t release me… in fact it still hasn’t released me, and days later I find myself daydreaming of Saoghal and wishing I were there!

Think Epic (the animated movie) and Neverland (in the sense of lost souls coming together and being transported to a magical world with Pixies). Where Broken Wings Fly is their love child!

Olivia’s grief is heavy, as I imagine it is when you’ve lost your best friend. Killian (in a sense) rescues her from that grief, bringing her into their world of mischief, energy, and ultimately war and he protects her every step of the way. She is Raegan’s sunshine is his dark world of strategy, scheming, and politics. She is Killian’s salvation.

“Killian made life exciting, Raegan made life real.”

Can she love them both?

This novel explores the turmoil that is grieving silently and alone. We get to immerse ourselves in the family that her characters create for each other, their unwavering loyalty, and the fierce way they love one another. We get to feel the weight shed from Olivia’s shoulders as she finds purpose again. We get to experience the slow burn love between our characters and watch it grow. And we get a soft ending that speaks louder than and has me excited for book two more than any cliffhanger ever could.

Wonder piece of work by Molly Frances. I received this book as an ARC and this is my true and honest review.

This book was like being in a dream I didn't want to wake up from! There was a great balance and inclusion of found family, mental health representation, folklore, imagery, adventure, romantic tension, and conflict.

The description of each pixie world and the imagery of what Olivia was experiencing really brought the book to life. Each character and scene was so well rounded that the book just flowed so well. Olivia was such a strong yet kind FMC despite what darkness she was facing within. She has easily been added to my list of favorite female main characters. Each character had a great complexity to them that made them feel real, such aa Raegan.

This book had everything I could want in a fantasy book and still had a wonderful uniqueness to it. I'm in-love with this world, and just like Olivia, I didn't want to leave it!

Some of my favorite quotes:

"For someone who have spent so much time in the dark, you seem untouched by it. Your heart remains strong and pure and for that I am thankful."

"Someone with a soul so broken knows how to keep others whole."

"I realized that a month might not be enough. It was possible that nothing would ever be enough. How was I to return to my nine to five, mortgage payments, littered streets and thick pollution in my throat? How could go back to dating-apps and first dates in chic bistros talking about favorite colors and politics from the news?"

First, thank you so much to the author, Molly Frances, for allowing me to join the ARC readers of "Where Broken Wings Fly"! The novel is set to release April 24th, 2026. I am so grateful to have been able to read an advanced copy!

There were so many things I loved about this book. From the accurate descriptions of high-functioning depression to the fantasy that is Saoghal, this book has everything I could've asked for in a romantasy.

The pacing of the novel was on point. The action felt necessary and was not overdone, while the low-stakes scenes gave enough time to breathe before the next catastrophe. Every emotion felt earned, not forced. The romance built naturally and it felt right when the two finally came together. The friendships made sense and I hated that Olivia having to go through the grief of losing a friend twice. 10/10 for accurate daddy issues as well.

My tiny critique is that, in the beginning, Killian tells Olivia not to trust any of the pixies, but then there isn't really anything done with that until the huge reveal in the end; I think I expected betrayal from Killian or Reagan but they were Good Dudes. The reveal itself I'm sure will be dealt with in the next novel but it did surprise me that Olivia didn't say anything about it in the moment.

Overall, I loved this story and can't wait to return to Saoghal!

“If you’ve ever needed an escape and sought one between the pages of a book — may you find one here.”

Well, I absolutely did. Not only did I find an escape, I also found peace, rest, and a completely new outlook on a part of me that I often try to hide from others.

From the opening line, “At some point in my life, I stopped looking for the light.” I knew this book was going to be different. There have been many times where I’ve found myself feeling the same as Olivia. Constantly trying to escape my own darkness and never feeling like anything I do is enough.

Olivia may have stopped looking for the light, but the light found her anyway. After a chance encounter with some pixies, her life would never be the same again. Olivia learns that the world is much bigger…or smaller.. than she imagined.
When Olivia begins to walk in the light again, she also finds her voice and her strength. Seeing the main character of a book overcome struggles similar to those of my own, has made me feel seen. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen so much of myself in a character before Olivia.

This book does an amazing job in giving the reader an exciting fantasy adventure, while at the same time addressing the reality of living with mental health struggles.
This book is wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good fantasy story!

ARC Review:

I’m so sad to be done reading this book! I was not ready for it to be over. Olivia’s life has been shrouded by the shadows of depression for as long as she can remember, and with the death of her childhood best friends the last little bit of light has fled her life. Until one fateful day, when on trip to fulfill her late friends request to scatter her ashes, Olivia accidentally makes an offering to the pixies. Killian, one of the pixies, brings her into their world but not all is well in the world of the pixies. So Olivia has found herself trying to help save this world that brought the light back into her life.
This was such an interesting premise for a book and I really loved falling into the world of Saoghal. The author gave us so many details from the customs to the clothes to the shape of different pixies ears! Learning the intricacies of the world of the pixies along with Olivia was so much fun and left me only wanting more.
Olivia is such a relatable character. I related so much to how Molly Frances wrote this characters mental health struggles. Reading her adventure and how she grew throughout it was so lovely. More than that I adored reading as she built friendships and relationships with the pixies.
This was such a good read and if you love fantasy I think this one is definitely one for you!

Molly gave me an ARC copy of this book

We follow our main girl Olivia, a vet having depression. She lost her friend Charlotte and goes on a little trip to scatter her ashes at several places. While in Cornwall an accidental offering let her meet pixies and that's how she gets to experience their world as she agrees to go with them.

We experience everything with her perspective, her amazement, her fears...
The friendship that is built between the characters is amazing. We first encounter Killian, Niamh and Shea. It is playful, bright. The banter was so good. And of course there is this grumpy Prince and he is also capable of being vulnerable, playful as well as brooding, serious. All the characters have a personality and the story builds around them being together as the war is preparing and there are attacks. So it is not all sunshine and rainbows in Pixie world!

It's in the details that the story gets interesting. What they wear, what they eat. The different kingdoms and costums. Our main girls adapts pretty easily to flying on pegasus and hoverflies!

There are hilarious moments and very serious topics in this book. I got all teary eyed at the end.

I recommand reading this book. Release date 24th April

Olivia has battled with depression ever since the death of her best friend. Her friends last wish was for Olivia to take a trip to visit certain areas to scatter her ashes. At one site, she makes an accidental offering to the fair folk, summoning pixies.

Taking to Olivia, the pixies decide to show her their world for one month’s time- and SHRINK her. The world becomes dazzling, full of different kinds of fairies and beautiful nature, very much pixie hollow vibes. And Olivia begins to appreciate the small things in life again, finding light once more.

Olivia falls into ongoing turmoil amongst the fairies and the fighting gets brutal! She is a key witness to the events and becomes a vital part of their fight.

I was obsessed with all of the fairies. Getting to immerse myself in this world was so special and magical, truly a lovely and fantastical Romantasy, with dragons and Pegasus. Olivia’s friendships with the other characters bloom, she has an instant attraction/romance with the pixie Killian, and a subtle slow burn with the pixie ruler Prince Raegan.

With only one month in fairy land Saoghal, she wants to soak in every bit, and never leave. Such a luscious Romantasy, truly enjoyed this book so much!!

Thank you to Molly Frances and BookFunnel for the Advanced Reader Copy:

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5

The concept of being alone, feeling low and finding a magical world where you find immediate peace is what dragged me into this story.

Olivia has always been told that that’s just how she is. She’s lived on this earth in a state of depression for as long as she can remember, her one friend that she relies on passes away and asks her to spread her ashes across England.

This is how we find our FMC dragged into the land of pixies, a world of wonder, new friends, and two males: one hot and one cold.

The side characters I enjoyed, they made Olivia feel welcome from the get go and the one MMC set his eyes on Olivia right away. The Prince on the other hand has a cold exterior a sad past and is carrying the world on his shoulders. With an impending war on the horizon, will it cut our FMCs time in the only place she’s felt at home or will it change her life forever?

This story has so much potential and I am excited to read the sequel, but I do wish we saw more of Olivia’s thinking process. Why did she feel so passionate about certain things? I also think the side characters could shine much more if we saw a bit more of their lives.

Thank you for selecting me as a reader for the ARC of Where Broken Wings Fly. It’s been a lifelong daydream of mine to find myself in a world of magic just outside my reality ever since I was a child, having read books like Alice in Wonderland, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Coraline. What I really enjoyed about Where Broken Wings Fly was not just the whimsical-ness of finding oneself in a world of magic and pixies but finding that world during a time of grief. I could really relate to Olivia and her journey with her grief of having just lost her best friend and navigating life with depression as someone who has also lost a loved one and fell into depression from it. The characters were fun and I found myself caring for their wellbeing. I loved Raegan and I am interested in his development in the 2nd book. I also really enjoyed Olivia being a veterinarian, usually Romantasy/Fantasy books focus on the FMC being a warrior badass but I really appreciated Olivia for being a badass in other non traditional ways. In my opinion she was more of a badass for it. Some parts did feel a little rushed (emotional development between some characters) but overall I really enjoyed this book and stayed up all night to finish it.

Once I started reading this book, I could not set it down! The author did such a wonderful job of world building and I myself felt like I was whisked away with Olivia to world of Saoghal and the pixies. Olivia struggles with sadness and darkness in her life that keeps her from truly feeling. She finds herself in a world of pixies and it leads her to feel alive and makes her see that happiness and light that can exist in life. The pixies and their world not only changes Olivia, but Olivia has an impact on them. She specifically makes a difference in the life of a prince who struggles with what his heart wants and what he is expected to do.
This book is so well written and has a little bit of everything in it; banter, war and rivalry between kingdoms, the hinting at destined mates, romance, animal bonds and the struggle between what the heart wants and the burden of responsibility.
The books ends with so many possibilities and I hope that the next book in the series revisits the relationships started in this book. I cannot wait to re-enter the world of Saoghal!
The book had many names and places that I was unsure of how to pronounce and the author had a very helpful pronunciation guide on her website!

I am proud to say I received an ARC copy of this book and I am so happy I did and that I have preordered it as well!

I loved “Where Broken Wings Fly” by Molly Frances. It was so beautifully written and I loved the character of Olivia especially. She was so sweet and kind, but she was also very relatable. I loved seeing her interact with Niamh, Shea, Killian, and Reagan and even more so with the world. It is so beautifully described and even when things took a darker turn at times it was still so beautiful. Also, the romantic relationship dynamic is also very alluring since you have the sweet and bright Killian vs the multi-faceted and complex Reagan.

On a side note: as someone who has some issues with how SJM uses Celtic mythology in her books, I think this was done in a beautiful way. I really enjoyed this book and the world that Molly has created.

I can honestly say I cannot wait for the next book and I really hope this gets a physical copy and a bunch of artwork because I want to see this world in physical form! This was a 5 star read for me and I can say I highly recommend it.

First I want to thank the author for giving me the pleasure of reading this Arc. This was my very first Arc and I’m so glad it was. A BIG THANK YOU!!!

At first I thought I was going to struggle getting through this book. It starts out in a depressing way. Olivia is the FMC and she’s dealing with a very close death and she’s struggling mentally with that and other things. But after the first chapter things start to take a better turn. The authors attention to details in this book is amazing. The way she talks about the details of the characters and the pixie realm is awesome. When we meet killian MMC and his friends things start to get very interesting lol also when you get introduced to the prince you don’t know to love or hate him. Personally I fell in love with him. The banter amongst the characters and the fun they have is written well. Through out the book Olivia is working on finding her light again. She’s tried of living in the dark. I feel Olivia is a relatable character. I love how the “tension” between Olivia and killian builds in the story. Also the “tension” between Olivia and Raegan. By the time you reach the end of the book you’re left wanting more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Where the Broken Wings Fly by Molly Frances is a captivating blend of fantasy, romance, and emotional healing that pulled me in from the very beginning. At its heart is Olivia Loughty, a woman struggling with grief and depression, whose life takes an unexpected turn when she finds herself in the magical world of Saoghal.

What I loved most about this book was how much heart it has. Olivia’s journey feels authentic, and her struggles are handled with care and compassion. Watching her slowly find strength, purpose, and connection made her story incredibly rewarding to follow.

The world of Saoghal is wonderfully crafted, filled with pixies, magic, political tensions, and plenty of mystery. The author creates a setting that feels enchanting while still carrying real stakes, making it easy to become fully immersed in the story.

The characters are another highlight. The friendships, found-family elements, and romance all develop naturally, adding layers of emotion and depth to the plot. Every relationship feels meaningful and contributes to Olivia’s growth throughout the novel.

This is a story about more than magic and adventure. It’s about overcoming darkness, discovering where you belong, and learning to hope again. Beautifully written and emotionally engaging, Where the Broken Wings Fly is a memorable read that will resonate with fans of fantasy romance and character-driven stories alike.

3.75, rounding to 4 ⭐️

Where Broken Wings Fly is a fast-paced, immersive, and fun fantasy novel. I know we’re not supposed to mention fairies amongst pixies, but the imagery used to describe Choilltean and beyond reminded me of Tinkerbell’s Pixie Hollow. I will once again say that I love the found family trope, and it’s heartbreaking that Olivia has to leave hers behind. I am intrigued as to what will happen in the next book, if it continues this storyline or not.

I do have a couple qualms, but please take them with a grain of salt… While this was an easy read, there were times that certain wording in sentences made zero sense, which unfortunately took me out of the story (I’m not sure if this is because this was an ARC). I am an avid hater of love triangles and it seems to be setting that up for the rest of this series. Although I will say that I think Killian is the better choice.

I believe that fans of The Cruel Prince will absolutely enjoy this story.

Where Broken Wings Fly is an unforgettable adventure that takes us to Saoghal - an enchanting land full of pixies.

Our female lead Olivia is surviving but not thriving as a vet in the human world. While battling her long standing depression, she is mourning the loss of her best friend Charlotte as well. In honoring her late friends final wishes, she finds herself in the magical midst of making a pixie offering.

As you enter the land of Saoghal with Olivia and these mysterious pixies, the author truly brings about a beautiful and complicated world, with an endearing adventure that Olivia finds herself in the middle of.

With unforgettable characters and magical creatures that we always find ourselves dreaming of, I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed getting to do this arc-reading. I finished the book in three days and as I approached the end of the story, I felt my own bit of mourning in leaving Saoghal and the amazing characters from it behind.

I look forward to this series and definitely recommend this book!

Thank you so so so much to the author for this ARC!

I was a bit worried in the first few chapters for our main girl, Olivia, as her depression had a strong hold on her—to the point where she struggled to believe in the fae world. As we journey alongside her, it was so nice to see the banter and sibling-like interactions within the group. From teasing each other about letting their guards down to playful moments over the smallest things like how they like their porridge, those interactions really added warmth to the story.

I also enjoyed the tension surrounding Olivia’s place in this new world. Watching her struggle with where she stood in the war, while still wanting to stay and fight alongside them despite being human, added a lot of depth to her character. I do wish we had a few more chapters at the end, as the final moments felt a bit rushed especially with the romance that we knew was building. I really loved the setup between Olivia, Killian, and Raegan, and I’m excited for the next book to expand on this and this new fae word Saoghal.

This story is a marvelous tale about a world that’s right beneath our feet. When Olivia travels to spread the ashes of her best friend she accidentally makes an offering.
Olivia is shrunken down and meets Killian, Niamh, and Shea. pixies from Choilltean. She’s then brought to meet Prince Raegan.

But Prince Raegan has a secret!

This story touches on mental health issues, war and politics. And the authors world that is happening all around in the real world is an excellent example of how there can be so much going on and we don’t even know it. Your cashier at the grocery store could be fighting mental health issues and we wouldn’t even know.

This is an extremely slow burn on the romance side but it sure is action packed!!

The ONLY thing I didn’t like about this story (and it’s a me thing for sure) is some of the names. 75% was definitely mispronounced. But more specifically Prince Reagan’s last name. Respectfully I didn’t read it every time it came up. Only during the succession from prince to king.
