ARC review

This quick sentient object romance was an absolute joy to read. I love Q. I love Leo. I love them together. Leo is absolutely adorable in his quest to find out what Q likes to do, taking him on a variety of adventure and low-key dates. It turns out that what Q wants to do most is Leo.

The spice is spicing! Luckily, Nicole provides a visual anatomy of Q that helps me imagine it. I’m still not sure of the details. Q can change size. His loop can tighten. His stamen can shrink or grow at will. But not like a human one. He tastes delicious.

There’s a praise kink! “That’s my good experiment person” is totally appropriate scientist praise in the moment.

There’s some drama surrounding A, B and C. Total dicks, but not in a good or useful way. I hope we get more books so they can learn a lesson. Those are some bad letters. And there’s wily punctuation!

Thanks so much to Nicole Parker for the review copy! Your work always makes me smile.

Q is just trying to find his place in the world now that the grapheme reveal has happened. He is living with his good friend U but he is looking for something more.

Leo is a colleague of U's who is immediately interested in Q. Q is quirky, and at times quixotic. Leo asks Q on a date, and Q accepts on the condition that Leo help him figure out his interests since he led such a sheltered life.

Soon the two are doing miniatures, taking a trapeze class, and generally having a great time. And when the big three (A, B, and C) come out of hiding to reveal that they are cutting W and Q out of the alphabet Leo and Q work together to try and stop them. And they just might fall in love along the way.

This is a fun return to the world from My Date with the Ampersand. Q and Leo are adorable, especially when doing their adventures. And if an anthropomorphic letter and a human can have great chemistry, these two do.

I knew going into this book that there was going to be some weird smut.
But what I didn't expect was for letters to be hot.
Nope...didn't see that one coming.
Each and every time we step back into this little sentient series I am reminded how amazing it is!
We are immediately dropped back into this world where everything is just a little different.
We see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.
And once again we find that these little letters and punctuations are a little feisty and a whole lot passionate about their purpose.
We also see that these letters are also living in this constant state of fear and worry that they'll loose their freedom.
I love how these characters rallied together to stand up against their bullies.
BUT what I really enjoyed was the blooming relationship between our MCs.
These two had cute little moments getting to know each other and some really HOT ones!
I should have known that there would be flavors involved...not that I'm complaining!
It was a fun and spicy little read!

I loved Get A Q by Nicole Parker! It is a super cute MM sentient object romance. It is a sequel to My Date With An Ampersand, and I enjoyed learning more about the lore of the alphabet society? in this one. I enjoyed Leo and Q’s characters. I love Nicole’s writing style and think that she did a really good job with this one! Q’s anatomy was a little easier to understand than Ampersand’s, which makes sense. I still love that there is a diagram of Q’s anatomy in the beginning of the book. I really like that Nicole adds things like that into her books.

I 100% recommend Get A Q by Nicole Parker to all sentient object romance lovers. It is such a fun spicy read.

Haha. This is a fun, quirky read. Who knew that letters of the alphabet could be sexy. If I had to pick a specific letter, "Q" would not have been in my top five. Yet, after reading this book I will never look at the letter "Q" the same way again

T is a talker. M is the muscle. H is the himbo. K claimed kink for a reason. Q is? Who is Q?.

I will tell you who Q is. He is quiet. He is quintessential. He is a lover. He and Leo are cute together. Leo is a nerd and I mean this in the nicest way. Him nerding out to "Q" is cute.

If you are looking for your next "quickie" read, then, you will want to grab this one.

✨✨ARC REVIEW✨✨

It’s always a good weekend when I get a Nicole Parker ARC! I haven’t read the other books in this series but now I have a need to immediately!!!
In this word letters and symbols are huge and sentient! This book focuses on the letter Q and ABC trying to remove him from the alphabet because they find him useless.
With the help of Leo, Q gets to keep his place in the alphabet and also learn what more he wants from life… they do some fun experiments together 🤪🤪
This was such a wild ride ! I loved every second of this book! Thank you Nicole for sending me an ARC!

Thank you to the author for a copy of this book.

I did not know I needed grapheme and sentient letter smut in my life, but who am I to complain! Nicole knows best!

I knew this was going to be a spicy and fun read but I did not realize I would be invested in the grapheme lore and politics as well! A,B,& C are the baddies and want Q removed from the alphabet! Leo and Q get together to retain Q's rightful place in the alphabet and have a good bit of fun along the way. All I'll say is that Q can change his diameter to fit.... whatever needs fitting.

Q is a far more fun letter than I gave him credit for, though his nectar and pollen situation would be murder on my allergies.....one wrong move, Q gets a bit excited, and whoops, SNEEZING FIT INCOMING. Complete mood ruiner

Leo is a gem! Bless the man, all his date ideas trying to introduce Q to different experiences and see what he likes was literal boyfriend goals. He was such a good partner for Q, and his method for problem solving was something to be commended 😂

Nicole, please keep writing books in this universe! I need all the letters and punctuation in my life, even the terrible ones!

Oh, I knew I was in for a wild reading ride, and I sure got it ;P This is a hot read, and it definitely showcases sentient objects. This story is about the letter Q and Leo, the scientist Q falls for. Yep, it's that kind of read. These two are fire together and I especially loved the praise k!nk between them. Expect to get caught up in the drama, emotions, world building and spice when you dive into this one. It's hot and quirky and just so fun :D

Leo and Q find themselves developing feelings and decide to just go with it. But how will they deal with some alphabet drama along the way?

This was such a fun and creative read! I always know Parker will deliver a great romance, and I definitely recommend this one!

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read an ARC.

What can I say if anyone can make letters sexy it’s Nicole Parker. It doesn’t have to make sense but I don’t think I’ll be able to look at the letter Q in the same way anymore 🥵 Leo and Q have such a sweet relationship and also hot and spicy one, I seriously hope we get more alphabet romance soon and I have to know what happens with A, B and C

We saw Sandy!
I loved My Date with an Ampersand and said I would love to see more from the letters and here we are!
Q is at threat of being taken out of the alphabet and Leo has always been curious about the letters when they came out.
This was a fun, silly read but always the best from NP!

Never would I have thought that I would have so many emotions towards letters of the alphabet. But Nicole somehow manages to make me love and hate them equally. Leo and Q are relationship goals. Everyone should have a Leo to support them through life!

What a fun read! I haven’t read Ampersand, so I had no idea what to expect from this story. I will say you don’t need to read the other book, BUT reading this one makes you want to grab it and see what happened!

Funny banter and interesting letter-sex, this was a silly, fun story.

March 2026 Small Business BookTok ARC Reviews (BookTome Edition): “Get a Q” by Nicole Parker

Note: This ARC was given to me for free by the author and I am reviewing this book voluntarily.

Long ago, the Sentient Alphabet Society made a drastic decision—to no longer include Ampersand in the Alphabet! Through this action, it leads to a librarian and the anthropomorphic letter finding love, defying society, and coming out to the world! Years later, Sentient Alphabets and humans now live among each other, and one Sentient Alphabet, Q, will unknowingly be the next letter to meet their match!

From the author of the “Kyleverse” series and “Santa Sack” comes the fifteenth installment in the author-collaborated series “Sentient Object Holiday”! I can’t give too much away, but if you loved Parker’s unique world-building and comedic take on the Alphabets in her book “My Date with an Ampersand”, then buckle your seatbelts, because you’re in for more hijinx that would make even Kyle from “Kyleverse” smirk with delight! “Questioning” how one gets “Quality” time with Q? (Ok, I’ll “Quit” with the puns), then don’t miss out on this book when it hits online shelves on March 20, 2026!

Tropes: Sentient Romance, Rom-Com, STEM Romance, Society of Sentient Alphabets, Insta-Love/Insta-Lust, MM Romance, He Falls First, and Sentient Alphabet Shifter x Scientist MMC.

Trigger Warnings: (Full Description in the Book).

Ok so the premise sounds crazy, and I'm not saying it isn't, buuuuut this was so frickin cute! Q is so awkward and precious and Leo is immediately smitten! The chemistry between the two of them is hot and once it catches it burns hot hot hot! The story brings enough drama to keep things tense but not super high stakes.

Yes if: You think Q is a looker

No if: Unpainted Warhammer figures is a sin

Q the letter Q x Scientist
Q Exploring Hobbies
Q Letters were in hiding
Q Pollen/Nectar
Q Roommates with U
Q Semi-public sex

This was an ARC read

This is a spicy sentient object romance. Make sure you know what that means before reading it.

I am going to say this is book two and you should also read book one because they compliment each other so very well

Anyways, this story is all about the letter Q and how he falls in love with the human scientist named Leo. They just f*k a lot and find out they love each other. It’s very sweet

There is also a story here and the story is the side plot as the focus is mostly on Q and Leo, which is totally fine. They’re hot! I didn’t know I could like a Q, but now I guess I do.

The lore of the alphabets is expanded more in this book. Like we get to see what happened after they got exposed to the world!

Turns out a lot of letter and humans are just f*king each other, so that’s a beautiful world.

We also get introduced to the symbols? What do you call the comma, and the question mark? I forgot, but they tell you in the book. We get to meet them and I think I am gonna love them

I really hope we get more from this series because this lore is fantastic and I want nothing more than for it to be expanded and like, maybe make new baby letters and symbols.

ARC

I reviewed this once already here, but it didn't save.

I've never wondered how to do the do with a letter before, but this series is answering the unasked.

I absolutely love this series and really want to know what ABC are hiding.

Quick and Quirky!

Loved this spin-off story following the reveal of letters as sentient beings to the world in 'My Date with Ampersand'. Poor Q is trying to find his find his way in the world, but thankfully Leo is there to help him in his quest of self actualization. Spicy, silly, and so Nicole Parker!
