COMING SOON: A brand new standalone forbidden stepsiblings romance!
I was only four years old when I experienced the worst day of my life.
When I watched my father take his last breath at the hands of someone else.
Instead of letting the hate consume me, I found a safe haven in the arms of the only person who understood, our shared trauma bonding us in a way that taught my heart that I was incapable of ever loving anyone else.
And over the years, our codependency transformed into something deeper. Something forbidden. Something no one would accept.
Because how could I explain that the man that I've been in love with for almost twenty years was once the six year old standing next to me on the worst day of my life: my stepbrother.
Amazon Top 15 Bestselling author and lover of forbidden romances, tacos, coffee, and wine, Q.B. Tyler gives readers sometimes angsty, sometimes emotional but always deliciously steamy romances featuring sassy heroines and the heroes that worship them. She's best known for writing forbidden (and sometimes taboo) romances, so if that's your thing, you've come to the right place. When she's not writing, you can usually find her on Instagram (definitely procrastinating), shopping or at brunch.
I really, really wanted this book to be a 5/5 star book before I even started reading it. I am obsessed with taboo-ish romances and this one sounded so, so good. And while I did enjoy it. I didn't love it as much as I would have liked too. I will definitely reread this one in the future and maybe adjust my rating if need be.
This book is the beautiful story of Sebastian aka Wilder and Halle aka Saint. Sebastian's father and Halle's mother married when they were 3 and 4 years old. A year later their (step)father takes them to the store and he gets senselessly shot down. Wilder is the one who needs to call 911 as a five year old and the two get trauma bonded for life.
They only find true comfort in each other's arms and it's Wilder's life goal to keep his Saint safe. But as the years progress their relationship progresses and they cannot help but madly fall in love with one another. They are happy but their (step)mom is furious and totally against it. She doesn't accept their relationship and does everything in her power to separate the two.
For years they have had a sort of distant relationship where they see each other once a year. When they are together they combust, but both ache for more. At first Wilder is hesitant. And later in the story Saint's wants to wait a little longer.
The story is all about do we want to love each other openly and are we ready to face the consequences? The story is about them navigating this process. It's about the good and the bad. It's about how society sees and views step siblings falling in love. And it's about following and trusting your own heart and your own choices. It's about loving someone fiercely and never giving up.
And while I really, really love that part of the story. The story also seemed to lack a bit of depth. This story is heavily focussed on the intimate scenes. Don't get me wrong, I love those kinds of scenes. But it felt like there were too many of them in this book. This was all about the lust and the spice and less about the journey. I really missed the depth. Some things get repeated a lot and the ending felt really off. It went by so fast and I really didn't like how it was resolved. It didn't make any sense and I wish the author had taken more time to flesh out those last few pages. They needed at least 20/25 more pages to make the ending feel genuine and true to the story. Now it was like tada this is the end and poof it ended. It really took some of the beauty away from the story.
Overall a beautiful book. But it could have shined a lot brighter if more depth and a better fleshed out storyline would have been added and if the focus wasn't so heavily focussed on the lust.
📌 Triggers: Death of a Parent (on-page) Violence (on-page)
📌 No OWD/OMD besides mild jealousy
📌 No Cheating/Sharing
📌 Eachothers first and only
📌 No Third-act Breakup
📌 Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick taboo romance! There's not a lot going on plot wise, which allows for all the focus to be put on the MCs. Which was cool because we got flashbacks to them as teenagers falling in love. All in all, this was a fun read and it helped me get out of my reading slump!
Halle St. John Saint and Sebastian Wild are step-siblings, but they’ve always been so much more: soulmates.
Their shared trauma brings them together each October 7, but for 20 years, it’s all they allow themselves.
My god… The pain. The yearning. These two shredded my heart into itty bitty pieces. All the years wasted in fear. Theirs is an interesting and unique long distance relationship. Unquestionably codependent, their love story is fueled by the utmost devotion. It’s genuine and heartfelt, an example of pure unadulterated and unapologetic love that transcends time and distance.

I'll never ever read this writer anymore hero : latent Gay man heroin: his stupid sister I hope hero'll come out of the closet and dump his gullible sister if you don't like reading MM or FF books don't read this book
no… 😓 i was so excited for this book to come out, and i hate to say this, but i’m really disappointed. 😞 it just felt so repetitive. yes, the characters went through things no children should ever experience, and yes, i love the step-sibling forbidden romance trope, but what was up with halle?? or sorry, saint?? she annoyed me so much. she was constantly angry at the mom… for what?.. i think the mom’s reaction was valid, and halle was just a little too harsh. i also didn’t get what the big deal was about them dating? if no one ever saw them as siblings anyway…who cares??🫢 wild, he was a sweetheart and i loved how he took care of her, was possessive, ….but he was kind of a doormat. 😕🫣🫢
…i did think the tattoo was sweet though😌🥹.
“You’ve protected me from everything my entire life. You don’t have to all the time, you know.” “Yeah, I do,”
“What I feel for you is… not how a stepbrother should feel about his stepsister.”
Very spicy step-sibling shenanigans that's pretty much the plot. I picked this up purely for Connor Crais' dulcet tones and that I do not regret at all 🥵🥵. However, the story was very repetitive and made this short read/listen drag slightly.
Wild and Saint's story is told through flashback and present-day chapters. It was OK. It felt a little whiny to me at times, with the constant going round in circles as to if they were actually going to stop sneaking around and just be together! It just went on and on and on 🥱. If you want a spicy time, read it but if you want much more, don’t 🤷🏻♀️
I saw a friend's review (here) mentioning that he kissed another woman while he and the FMC were separated. I hadn't reached that part yet, but I had to read it because, seriously, WTF!
Chapter 7 at 35%
Let me know when you’re back in Seattle? Maybe we could go out again?” she says, and the undeniable subtext pisses me off. Even if I wasn’t in a very serious relationship with the woman next to me, I hate that Quinn was trying to stake some claim on me as if she had any right to do so. I know once I explain to Saint that I have not slept with this woman, she will calm down a little bit. [...]
I’m just about to respond that I’m seeing someone, so that wouldn’t be happening when Saint speaks up. “That’s not possible.” She gives her a saccharine smile before she turns more into me, making it very obvious as to why it’s not possible. “Oh, I… I didn’t realize…” she says before narrowing her gaze at me. “You attended the last Heritage Center Gala alone just a few weeks ago, so… I just assumed you weren’t seeing anyone… serious,” she says before turning her gaze to Saint as if to imply she was probably no more than a fling.
“But have fun while you’re here in New York,” she says snidely before she walks away without another look toward either of us. Saint’s eyes meet mine, and I can see the fire in them before she storms away. I’m grateful that she doesn’t make her way toward her friends because we need to talk, and we need to do so away from their prying eyes and ears. I follow her out of the main area and into a dark hallway where she’s standing against one of the deep burgundy-colored walls with the most gorgeous scowl on her face. “Start talking,” she grits out. [...]
I move closer, and she puts her hand out to stop me, putting her palm flat against my chest. My head drops as I let out a defeated sigh. “I took her to two benefits. Just for show, Saint. It just looks better when you attend with someone,” I explain, praying she will understand. “You know what I’m asking.” “I didn’t sleep with her.” I swallow nervously, knowing she’s going to hate this second part. “But I did kiss her.” 😡
Her eyes widen, and tears flood her big brown eyes, making them appear even brighter than usual. “Are you kidding me?” “It was this past year when we weren’t talking.” I run a hand through my hair, knowing that I didn’t do anything wrong but still feeling like I cheated on her. 🤬 “It meant nothing. She was hinting all night about wanting to come home with me, and when I dropped her off, she asked me to come inside, and I blew her off. I felt bad.”
(---So the asshole had to kiss her, great, just what every cheater in the world says, but go on---)
I grab her angry face and make her look at me. “But not as bad as I’d feel about sleeping with someone who wasn’t you.” She blinks away the tears and chews on her bottom lip as she does sometimes when she’s thinking about something. “Just a kiss?” “Just a kiss and definitely not the way I’ve ever kissed you. Saint, it’s been you my whole life. But for most of my life, I’ve thought you weren’t an option. So sometimes I tried to entertain myself with something else because briefly it would make me forget how miserable I am without you.” I squeeze her face harder. “But I’ve never lied to you. You are the only woman I’ve ever fucked, made love to, whatever.[...]”
The writing is good. BUT...this might be the longest short story I have ever read. One plot. Only one really. One plot and this book felt long. Also, mentioning items that have not yet been invented at the time of flashbacks just irks me.
It was just a little one dimensional for my taste I guess. I was really expecting a little more story but in the end this was a 95% spice and 5% plot kind of book.
I love the idea of people falling in love so early in life and staying that way forever but for me the fact that this book just doesn't have the story I needed made me sad. The bouncing back in time was a little repetitive since the fully grown character would mention an exact thing that happened and then it would flip back in time to say the exact same thing from a different aged perspective.
“I want you, Saint. I’ve always wanted this and us. I’ve been in love with you since we were kids.”
“Keep me wild,” he murmurs. “I’ve always wanted to keep you, you are mine, Saint.”
“Nothing could ever make me give you up. It’s been you and me for twenty years now. I need another twenty and then another and another until we take our last breaths, Halle.”
I bow down to the Taboo Queen! A new Daddy has entered the villa! Daddy Sebastian, god is he yummy!! Hallie and Sebastian are so incredibly hot! We follow their story as they try to navigate their relationship in adulthood while also getting flashbacks to how their relationship continued to grow and evolve from kids to teen to adults. Reading Wilder Saint I felt like I did when I read Unconditional, Love Unexpected or What Was Meant To Be. It’s a classic Q.B. Tyler book and I absolutely loved it!! And the audiobook?! Obsessed! Thank you so much to Q.B. Tyler and @thesmuthood for the chance to ARC/ALC!
Tropes: Forbidden Taboo Step-Siblings Trauma Bond It’s Always Been You
First of all, I fuckin hate a dual time-line, seriously just give me a quick recap in the prologue and then get on with it please.
So the dual timeline and the fact he kissed OW during one of their separations and just that the mcs were pretty unlikeable has me rating this so low. Oh and the ‘daddy’ thing, he’s only a year older and does not give off daddy vibes at all whatsoever so wtf was that, and the random pegging that came out of nowhere.
-Dual PoV -Dual timeline -step siblings, forbidden relationship -h23, H24 -dual virgins- he had kissed a couple girls as a young teen I think. -OWD/OMD- they’re both always super jealous when either has any interaction with the opposite sex. Also I’ve seen reviews say no OWD and I absolutely think this counts as OWD. During the year of their last separation before they decide to officially be together he takes OW as a date to a benefit twice or something and kisses her. They bump into OW when they’re out together in NY and she tells the H to let her know when he’s back in Seattle that maybe they could go out again and the h stakes her claim and the OW makes a snide comment and then leaves. But then she comes back with an article open on her phone of an interview the H had given in the past where he mentioned h as his stepsister then she says she’s going to out them to his board of investors and walks away. She goes through with the threat but she’s never mentioned again and they sort out the shit with the board and his company. I’ll copy the quotes about this below. -HEA -epilogue a year later they get engaged and she tells him she’s pregnant and then 10 months later they get married and his mom is there and their baby son.
“I took her to two benefits. Just for show, Saint. It just looks better when you attend with someone,” I explain, praying she will understand. “You know what I’m asking.” “I didn’t sleep with her.” I swallow nervously, knowing she’s going to hate this second part. “But I did kiss her.”

Ahhh, some good 'ol taboo romance from QB Tyler! No one does it quite like she does. Some of my very first Taboo Age gaps were from this author, and though this one wasn't an age gap, it certainly had the feel of taboo.
Because Sebastian and Halle are Step-siblings, and they have been since they were 5 and 6 years old. So the optics are not great for them. Halle has been raised by Sebastian's mother since her father was murdered at a young age. She and Sebastian grew close and as teens that closeness was far more than a sibling type of love for one another. Sebastian's mother can only handle so much and it leads to a rift in their late teens. Truly though, what would you have done in her position?
Anyway, every year on Oct 7th, they get together on the anniversary of her father's death. They mourn, they fuck and then they go their separate ways... But this year, Halle doesn't want them to just go back to what they have been doing. They know they only want each other, so why does the rest of the world get a say in their HEA anyway?
Filled with sexual chemistry, hot hook ups, and emotional connection, this hit on a lot of what makes QB Tyler a stunner at what she does.
This was narrated in the dual style by Connor Crais and Nikko Austen.
4 Stars 4.5 on the spice scale
CW: Death of a parent, step sibling spice, PTSD, pegging, daddy kink
*Thank you to Must Love Audio & the author for an ALC.*
4.75⭐️ the way i have been dyinggg for a good taboo book and qb came to save the day
sebastian and halle experience one of the most traumatic things together and from that day forward, they were practically fused as one. the comforting and need to protect, slowly turned into shy glances and deeper feelings. these two act on those feelings and QUICK! after all these years of sneaking around and trying to limit time with each other, they can’t fight off those true feelings and have to navigate how they can proceed in a world they know won’t accept them
these two are MORE than meant for each other, no matter what or who, they were going to find a way to be together, it was always going to be them
are they trauma bonded? yeah. codependent? absolutely. but so what! i say let them be!!
also younger seb and halle were funny as hell😭those two truly did not give a fuck and i know their momma was stressing💀💀
Taboo Romance + Step-Siblings + Childhood Trauma + All the Spice 🌶️
The Queen of taboo romance, Q.B. Tyler, has written another great forbidden romance story!! These two main characters experience a horrific situation when they are little kids and it has trauma bonded them to where they really only feel safe together. And that feeling of safety transitions into deeper more intimate feelings when they start to become teenagers and adults. Their fight to be together despite the judgement and backlash showed just how strong they felt for each other.
The spice was also top notch and the narrators did a wonderful job reading this story!
This audiobook was sent to me through The Smuthood. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
4.5⭐️ If you want something that is spicy and delicious, but also a beautiful love story, but forbidden, add this one to the TBR! I literally devoured this story and I am in love with Wild & Saint! The audio is performed in dual by Nikko Austen Smith & Connor Crais - and I absolutely loved them both for Halle & Sebastian!
These two are step siblings and after an extremely traumatic experience as kids, they are definitely trauma bonded and this played a huge part in how their relationship grew and remained so strong over the years. Their love is on an entirely different level and with how much they truly care, it doesn’t even seem wrong to me - but that’s not the case for everyone around them.
What to expect: -step siblings -trauma bond -forbidden -it’s always been you
Huge thank you to Q.B. Tyler and The Smuthood for the ARC & ALC of this book! All opinions are my own!
Thank you QB for sending me an ARC of this one early because I have been on the edge of my seat waiting to read Sebastian and Halle’s story. I obviously expected nothing less from the queen of taboo romance but this one was such a hit for me! The combination of a hard hitting emotional backstory mixed with the sweetest romance and spice (!!!!!) made this quite the page turner. I could not put it down!!
Thank you to the author for the availability to read this as an arc!!
Overall, this was a good story. The writing was good, but I felt like it was a little too long, and the story itself lacked a plot.
- I liked both the MMC and the FMC, however, the beginning felt a little wishy-washy in that the FMC wanted everyone to finally know about them, the MMC thought it wouldn't/shouldn't happen, and then there was a sudden switch.
- The first half of the book felt very repetitive. They argued continuously and a lot about telling people, didn't agree, and had sex.
- The dual timeline POVs were okay. I'm not a big fan of dual timelines, and in general, felt like they didn't really add much that couldn't just be explained in the present timeline.
- Sex stuff: 4+ explicit scenes. Truly felt like the author was just adding tropes to have them (daddy, good girl, anal [both m and f receiving], public sex, blowjobs, handjobs, shower sex, etc).
I enjoyed this, and I would recommend this, and I do plan on reading more from the author.
So disappointed. Step siblings in love as a trope has so much “angsty”potential, you just need a good storyline to hook ya. Unfortunately, if I had to rate Wilder Saint by the writing only, it would be a 4* all the way. Tyler can definitely write. What was missing though was a story. It was just more back and forth, repetition the whole way. Spice was extra spicy. Whew! Open to reading more by author because the talent is there. For me this just wasn’t it.
This story will break your heart, soul and sanity. Hallie (Saint) and Sebastian (Wilder) did not deserve the hurt, resistance and rejection that they went through in the past 20 years. 💔 The only "safe" thing about this book is that there was no OM/OW drama or cheating.
What it is about: Step-siblings Hallie (Saint) and Sebastian (Wilder) are bound by a shared childhood, loss, and an unspoken connection formed in the wake of her father’s violent death. As young adults they live a world apart, except on the anniversary of that loss, when they are inevitably drawn to each other. What follows is a struggle between restraint and inevitability, as they confront their feelings and the resistance of a world that refuses to accept their choice.
What I loved: 💔this story brings the absolutely heartbreaking journey of two traumatized young adults, from then (through flashbacks) until now 🎙️great narration, especially by the male narrator (amazing voice as his 5-year old self 🥺) ❌how taboo -and equally toxic- their relationship was... 🖤how utterly obsessed and devoted they were to one another, never moving on ✒️their tattoos -so many tattoos- for one another 🌶️the spice, OH. MY. GOD. the spice... 🫠 ☕and the coffee scene! filth, just delicious filth 🥵 🔥the scene where he straddles her shoulders lives in my head rent-free for the rest of my life 👀 🪑when he drags her barstool closer to him
What you need to know: 📕standalone 🫂dual POV 🎙️dual narration (text exchanges are in duet) ⏰dual timeline ❌taboo relationship (step-siblings) 🧑🏼🤝👩🏻young adults (22h, 23H) 🫠it's always been you 🌶️spiccyyyy af ❤️HEA
— Step siblings — It’s always been you — Trauma bond — Taboo
I am SO happy to be back in the world of QB Tyler. She is the queen of spice AND taboo, and I absolutely devoured this one. 🔥
This story follows Halle and Sebastian, step-siblings since they were very young. After Halle goes through something deeply traumatic at just five years old, Sebastian becomes her constant always by her side, always her safe place. 🥺
We get their story across multiple timelines, from childhood to adulthood, watching their growth, their suppressed feelings, and the way they slowly find their way back to each other. The emotional tension in this book was EVERYTHING.
Sebastian is completely obsessed with Halle, and honestly… she’s just as gone for him. The way he loves her is so intense and consuming, and you can feel it pouring off every single page. ❤️🔥
And QB… the spice in this book was HOT from start to finish. I don’t know what you put in your books, but it should be illegal because WOW. 🥵
Thank you so much to qbtyler.author and thesmuthood for the ARC I’m so grateful to be part of this team. 🖤
wilder and saint you two were way too hot. i got a chance to listen to the ALC for this and it was perfection. the right balance of yearning, angst, jealousy, and pure smut. if you love step sibling romances or taboo of any kind then you need to read thissssss!!!
Sebastian Wilder (Wild) and Hallie St. John (Saint) -um first of all, cutest nicknames ever- are two stepsiblings who met when they were 5 and 4, respectively. Not long after becoming a blended family, Saint's dad was tragically killed mere feet away from them. Naturally, such a catastrophic event would bring any normal siblings closer together, bonded by grief and trauma. However, what Wild and Saint soon developed was a level of codependency that transcended all logic and reason.
Upon her husband's death, Wild's mother chose to keep and raise Saint as her own, meaning that while they were not blood related, they did indeed grow up as siblings. As the years went by, the lines of their relationship began to blur, creating a tense living situation for Wild's mother, who simply saw her two "children" start to develop feelings for one another.
What I love about QB's writing is that her characters have a way of drawing you in to the point that you forget the nature of their relationship is, in fact, "taboo." Her stories are intimate, with so much depth, that you have no choice but to walk away feeling like these were true soulmates, no matter how unconventional their relationship began.
Connor Crais is one of my fav audiobook narrators and his voice was pure perfection as the fiercely loyal, overprotective, and completely obsessed Sebastian Wilder. This was my first experience listening to Nikko Austen Smith, but she captured the innocence and vulnerability of Hallie St. John very well. The two of them did a wonderful job.
Favorite elements of this book:
- Each other's first and only -"I love you more than I love me" (swoon!!!) - Ride or die for each other - Willing to lose everything for her - No third act break up
This was a super sweet and emotional read. QB never disappoints with her stories and I cant wait to read what's next from her!
The queen of taboo/forbidden does it again! 😮💨 this is probably one of my favorite step sibling romances I’ve read.
Halle and Sebastian’s parents get married when they are 4 & 5 years old making them step siblings. After a tragedy happens where Halle’s dad dies, Seb’s mom decides to still raise Halle. They were always extremely close but after witnessing Halle’s dad die, they trauma bonded and became very codependent on each other. As they got older, feelings started to develop that then turned into them sneaking around having a physical relationship. When Sebastian’s mom found out she was notttt happy and did everything to get them to stop but they are truly obsessed with each other and nothing was going to stop them. This does time hop and in the present they are only seeing each other once a year on the anniversary of her dads death where they basically spend 2 days together in bed but Halle wants more and so does Seb but they know people aren’t going to accept their relationship. Buttt they decide to go for it and they have to fight hard for their relationship and for other people to understand it. When I tell you their love was next level like I had heart emojis in my eyes the entire book….i can’t…I just love them!!! As usual with QB, the spice was spicinnnnn!!! Lovedddd this one and it’s a top QB book for me now!
Step Siblings First loves It’s always been you Spiccyyyy af Protective MMC Soulmates
ALL HAIL THE QUEEN OF TABOO!!! I can always count on QB Tyler to give me the goods with her stories, but this one is step-siblings....& goooooood LAWD did she deliver with it!!!! It was deliciously taboo, deliciously sexy, deliciously nassssty, AND I ATE UP EVERY SECOND OF IT!
First, the audio: Dual narration, and Connor Crais & Nikko Austen Smith are SO GOOD as Wilder and Saint (Sebastian & Halle). They portrayed those complicated emotions, desire, & heat between the two characters so well, & truly brought them to life. I loved getting to listen along with the book, it truly made the experience all the better!
Story: I love a taboo story, and taboo with step siblings may be my catnip! Wilder & Saint were absolutely delish! They go through an insanely traumatizing event at very young ages (4 & 5, also check the trigger warning!), which bonds them closer than they already were. Fast forward to teenage yeats, and some not so sibling-like feelings begin to bloom, starting a VERY frowned upon relationship. They face adversity from the start from Wilder's mother (understandably), who does everything she can think of to split them apart, but the two won't be stopped. Call it obsession, lust, depravity, whatever you want, but they were truly in love.
Fast forward again, they are grown adults who continue the relationship once a year, even though both want more. They decide to go for it, & well, you'll have to read to see that plays out for them. ;)
I love the flash backs in this, you really get to experience how their relationship grew from that trauma, into so much more. The adversity, their determination, their dedication to the otherr...I also love how obsessed they are with the other! The tattoos? Their chemistry & SPICE?! The "burn the world" for her? FIRST & ONLY for them both?! SWOON!!!
I loved everything about it, and 100% think you should add to your TBR (along with the audio!).
**Thank you SO MUCH to The Smuthood for the ALC & ARC opportunity**
This is a taboo step sibling STEAMY romance book with all the emotions. The main plot is the two characters navigating a world where they can proudly say they belong to each other, even with judgement from others. The time jumping, at first, is a little cringey being that they met when they were 4 & 5 yrs old. However, I appreciated the back and forth to really understand the bond these characters had. While I do think they were extremely co-dependent on each other (a major topic of conversation in the book), I do think they fit each other well. They brought out the best in each other. The spice is around every corner. The taboo, forbidden trope is EVERYWHERE and hot as hell! Overall, a quick, spicy read that while it will make you question your morals, still makes for a well written and emotional read.
Thanks to Must Love Audio for the ALC! These are my honest thoughts.
Y'ALL. I think this is my first stepsibling read, + all I have to say is.. QB, what have you done? I am OBSESSED with these two and their love story. From something so pure, heartbreaking, tragic, to something so beautiful, heartbreaking, obsessive.
This is as much a romance as it is a tragedy. These two go through it... only allowing themselves to be together on the same day every year... the anniversary of Halle's dad's death. And every year, they want to be more than this day, more than stepsiblings, more than lovers who have to hide.
READ IF YOU LOVE: - Stepsiblings who are soulmates - Taboo - Trauma Bonding - Tattoos, but only for each other - SPICY - Secret Relationship - IT'S ALWAYS BEEN YOU - POC/Interracial - Jealous, possessive, obsessive - Kinks
THE AUDIO: Told in dual narration (with duet text messages, lol), Connor Crais absolutely MADE THIS AUDIOBOOK. He was absolutely the right choice for Sebastian. Nikko Austen Smith was incredible as Halle. These two narrators had all the chemistry I needed. Definitely give this one a listen - it's a quick one!
Q.B. Tyler is back with another forbidden, taboo romance with one of my favorite tropes, stepbrother.
Halle and Sebastian have been in love since they were teens, but have had to keep their relationship a secret. They are only able to be together once a year. They shared a trauma bond after witnessing the murder of her father and became very codependent on each other. His mother was worried about their close connection and tried to keep them apart.
Now, they are both tired of being apart and want to be in a real relationship. They have only ever loved each other and are finally ready to bring their love out into the open.
This was spicy and sweet romance between stepsiblings. I loved that this was an actual taboo stepbrother romance because they grew up together. I feel like authors don't do this enough.
Side note, I was so excited we got a super-hot pegging scene near the end.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎤Dual Narration by Connor Crais & Nikko Austen
Connor Crais and Nikko Austen brought the chemistry and angst to life. I fully felt their connection and had a great time with the audio.
Thank you to Must Love Audio for providing the ALC.
I just looooove qb Tyler’s writing style😍 she could write anything and I’m pretty sure I’d read it!
The reason for 4.5 rather than 5 is simply because it felt very out of character for Sebastian to have kissed the girl he took to two events for publicity reasons during one of their separations before the book started. I didn’t care for that and it could’ve been left out.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I experienced this one through immersive reading (Kindle + audio together) and it completely consumed me from start to finish.
Q.B. Tyler delivers a forbidden romance that is emotionally intense, deeply tangled, and undeniably addictive. What begins as shared childhood trauma evolves into a bond that grows into something neither of them can escape — or deny. Their connection isn’t just complicated… it’s step-siblings, lifelong attachment, and a devotion that borders on obsession in the most compelling way.
The emotional codependency is written with such care that you understand how their relationship transforms over time. The tension simmers for years before it finally ignites, and when it does… it’s scorching. The chemistry is suffocating in the best way — protective, consuming, and deeply personal. His obsession with her isn’t just heat for shock value; it’s rooted in history, grief, and a love that feels inevitable no matter how forbidden it is.
The atmosphere is heavy with longing and unspoken need. Every moment feels charged — quiet glances, restrained touches, emotions that have nowhere safe to exist. The spice is bold and unapologetic, but it never overshadows the emotional weight behind their connection.
This is the kind of romance that makes you feel like you shouldn’t be rooting for them… yet you absolutely are.
Dark, intimate, and impossible to put down. Five stars — completely unforgettable.
