By day I am an iPhone developer architecting the app used to scope Stephen Colbert’s ear. By night I am Batman. Ok maybe not. One can dream though, right?

I’ve been writing since I was six years old and started inflicting my work on others at age 18. By age 24 people stopped running away when I approached them with a new story and shortly thereafter I published my first one in the Rifter.

Wait you’re still reading?

Ok, the facts I’m supposed to list in a bio. As of this writing I’m 38 years old and live just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the beautiful town of Mill Valley. If you’re unsure how to find it just follow the smell of self-entitlement. Once you see the teens driving Teslas you’ll know you’re in the right place.

I live in a tiny studio that I can cross in (literally) five steps and don’t own an oven. But you know what? It’s worth it. I love developing iPhone apps and if you want to work in San Francisco you accept that rent for a tiny place costs more than most people’s mortgage.

If you and about 2 million other people start buying my books I promise to move out of Marin to a house in the redwoods up in Guerneville. No pressure. Wait that’s a lie. Pressure.

No Mere Zombie is the exciting sequel to No Such Thing As Werewolves, and it's even better than the first book! At the end of No Such Thing As Werewolves, we were left with many questions... most importantly, what would happen to Trevor? No Mere Zombie does not disappoint! The fast paced action continues, taking the reader along for an exciting ride. The zombie plague is spreading across the world, and our werewolf heroes must combat it. However, the zombies are the least of the challenges they face in this continuing adventure that combines science, technology, and Egyptian mythology in a modern day apocalypse. If you liked No Such Thing As Werewolves, you'll love No Mere Zombie!

This was a great, fun, quick read. This is not a literary work of art. There are some typos and even some scenes that seem unbelievable, but it was seriously loads of fun. There are really some great moments, such as when the insane werewolf, Cyntia, crushes on Trevor, a zombie, and he acts like a guy trying to get away from a crazy ex-girlfriend. They're sitting in an airplane, he's the pilot and she's showing off her cleavage. He looks at her like eeewwww! lol That was a funny moment. I hated Steve; he's such a great big jerk, you just gotta hate him. I knew he'd betray them all, but what happens at the end with Blair & the key just made me want to say, "Ha! In your face, Steve!" Lol

I'm so looking forward to the next one.

This is such a refreshing unique spin on Werewolves and Zombies/deathless ones not to mention the ancient civilizations twist. I will most definitely be reading the next new release.

First, the recap of “Previously On Deathless” was great….cracked me up while listening. This was again an awesome mix of adventure, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Mythology all in one action packed story. After the cliffhanger in No Such Thing as Werewolves I had been hoping this one would jump right in so we could see what happens with Trevor….but we have to wait 5 chapters….which was okay as this one was not slow in the beginning at all.

I really enjoyed this listen; the narrator was awesome and did a fabulous job with all the characters. We are introduced to new characters and encounter some characters we thought were dead are not….

Trevor become’s Irakesh’s thrall….Cynthia come across them while she is out searching for Trevor and decides to hitch her wagon with them (she has a thing for Trevor), Trevor is slowly becoming more himself but with all the freaky Deathless features and Cynthia becomes completely psycho…..Blair, Liz, Jordan & Bridgett are on the trail of Irakesh to keep him from getting The Ark of the Redwoods…… it was a wild ride from Peru to San Francisco and I can’t wait for more, it sucked that it took so long for Trevor to be able to join Liz & Blair’s side….I feel like I am saying this a lot lately but I’m not sure how to say all the cool things about this story that I want to say without giving major spoilers so I will end it with this, if you enjoyed No Such Thing as Werewolves then you will LOVE No Mere Zombie so go out and grab the book or audio and enjoy the ride

Stupid internet connection, blitzing while saving my review. Here's the re-written review:

I can always do with less swearing, but this book hits the spot. Great action. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Pretty Awesome

When I started reading the I thought the lines were drawn and good guy and bad guy were clearly defined, but in this book it eases into the true feeling of the apocalypse as some characters become more than what they were in both good ways and bad ways.

At the beginning of the long count, the Sun's energy is raising ancient pyramids of power. With the rise of the pyramids, the werewolves appear.

If you have not read No Such Thing As Werewolves, Deathless Book 1, there are SPOILERS ahead! If you haven't read book 1, you're going to be somewhat lost.

You will miss the war against the werewolves, before discovering that the werewolves were being raised to fight the zombies!

You won't get to witness the new powers and abilities rising in the defenders of the arks. You're going to miss out on introductions to Liz, Blair, Trevor, Bridget, Steve or the Director. But if you're here, you've ready for a brief synopsis of the events do far.
With a grinding roar, the top of a mountain slides away revealing an immense, ancient, obsidian pyramid buried deep within the mountain chain. The landslides exposed most of the sides, revealing a doorway into the base of the structure. A team of mercenaries appeared on site as if they were awaiting the pyramid's arrival. They entered and found a guardian waiting to tear them into bloody scraps. The slaughter was complete but some of the dead rose as werewolves. The escaped guardian, called Ahiga, continued to kill indiscriminately among the Peruvian population, more of which rose as werewolves themselves and added to the destruction.

The mercenary leader called in specialists to examine the pyramid and the sarcophagus containing a most beautiful woman in some kind of suspended animation. Blair and Liz were among the specialists called in. Mistake! Their battered bodies rose as werewolves with an edge. They quickly mastered their new abilities and learned some of the knowledge they needed to begin fighting back against forces determined to control the forces of the Arks (as the pyramids came to be known.)

Meanwhile, the Sun has entered a new phase and is showering the planet with the largest CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) ever measured. The destruction is immense, charged solar particles raining down on soon-to-be dead populace of the world. The corpses of the dead cover the ground. Most rise as zombies, deathless and hungry for flesh. The hordes of deathless wander in packs, seeking fresh meat. The zombies are attacked by the werewolves, but there's just not enough to make a difference. Shouldn't have killed so many werewolves, eh?

The characters who fight for life are extremely well described and ably powered with mystical energy. Love them or hate them, you know these characters - you cheer for them, jeer at them, cry when they're hurt, clap when they do the hurting, laugh at their silly jokes, want to hug them, squeeze the life out of them, or just hope that this time - finally - they won't get back up.

The storyline, based in Egyptian mythology, is amazing. Dragging the characters across the world to battle with creatures conjured by Isis, Osiris, Ra and other parts of Egyptian pantheon. The storytelling is masterful. Don't expect to get much sleep until you finish. Your attention is captured from the beginning and keeps going. This is a great read!

kindle unlimited, first off, a collection that includes the prequel should have the prequel first in the book, and while I don't usually take off for spelling/grammar issues, there was so many that at times my audio stuttered or otherwise didn't make sense, and when forced to read it by sight there were homonym errors and repeats of the same text/'catch up' rememer from previous book parts that were way too close to each other as in parts to make sure knew of something not just the first part of each chapter going over what led up to, repeats of what had just been written a couple or so lines back, and some of it contradictory. I would have noted the issues each time but I'm not the ARC reader for these, maybe nobody was from some of the issues. If it hadn't made it hard to understand, wouldn't have taken off a star, but starting with prequel in BACK of 3 stories made no sense and the issues continued from there. BTW, a werewolf smashing a window pane THEN busting down a door makes no sense, and that was the same for too many other bits and pieces and parts, including length & shift ability, and being able to link/talk to minds yet in the most important instances actually saying outloud where the bad guys can hear it all. Also no idea half time whether in present or not, as switches scenes from recent to uh when was this? Didn't really understand vampire one much. So much gave 3.

No Mere Zombie (Deathless #2)
Vampires Don't Sparkle (Deathless #3)

Thumb up again

I had great expectations to this second book in the installament as the first was really good with several elements i love, pyramids, old gods, werewolfs and monsters just like a Indiana Jones movie on speed. Im glad to announce this second book still is i thrill ride and among the better i've read in the genre. It start where we left of in nr 1 and Blair and his friends are rushing ahead from the digging and Ark site in Panama to San Francisco to stop and old acient foe of "Mother" from gaining control over a second Ark and the powers it holds which will tip the power balance and the future of earth and humans into their enemies hand. Oh, did i mention our heroes are werewolfs with supernatural abilities? And their enemies zoombies and a more developed edtition of them called deatless also with great powers? What can go wrong with these ingredients baked into a fantasy novel? Much but the author dose a really great job with the storyline and the world and caracter building all mixed with great action that makes it a book difficult to lay down. Now i can't wait to dig into the third and i hold my breath and hope it still is just as an exiting ride as it has been so far. You might guess i highly recommend this serie based on the two first i've read, if your into fantasy, horror, supernatural and world ending/changing scenarioes all put togheter by a talented author you made a great choise by starting to read it, have fun😃

Uuuuugh!!

2 stars is supposed to be 'it's ok' and three is 'I liked it'....so this is more towards the it was okay. I hated-hated-hated the sexual subplot. I'd say it was romantic, but I never got the feel that Blair and Bimbo were ever really in the loves in the book. Blair is all wishy-washy back and forth with Liz and Bimbo and Liz and ...oh, Liz has gone away so I guess it's Bimbo. Until ...ya know, Bimbo dies. And now I'm sure he'll be all about Liz. Just...Shut...Up....and that made me hate Blair and I wanted him to die. Badly.

I am going to sleep on it and see if I care enough about any of the characters enough to see if they live. I do like Liz and Jordan, but pretty sure Blair is still going to be the 'hero'. Bleh. I just don't know if I can read through Liz being a rebound girl while Blair uses her as a Bimbo replacement.

Meh.

Fox returns with a second volume of his saga about a struggle for control of the earth that predates Ancient Egypt. It appears that there are three factions, although most of the tale revolves around two of them. Whereas the first volume was mostly humans versus werewolves, this time it is werewolves against zombies—zombies who grow smarter and more capable the longer they are around. Liz's brother Trevor (turned into a zombie at the end of the last book) returns and generally there are a lot of internal politics among the contending groups. It did annoy me when the bad guys were taken prisoner at the end instead of being killed. I don't think any reader would fail to suspect that this was done so that the author could use the bad guys as serious foes in another novel. I must admit, however, that I didn't expect them to also escape in this volume.

OMG! This series has everything! Love and betrayal between scientists, lovers, siblings, mother and son, soldiers and commanders, corporate bosses and their underlings, if there’s a relationship someone is betrayed in it!
Plus there are ancient Egyptian gods complete with high tech pyramids, werewolves as heroes, a zombie apocalypse, a detonation of a nuclear weapon, and the inevitable fight between good and evil.
Add to that the heroes of book one have become werewolves or zombies or arc lords. The female werewolves are bigger, more powerful and in charge (which is awesome) and a female character becomes the main villains thrall. This is nonstop action and a real page turner! Not to be missed by any fan of sci-fi, fantasy, action, zombie fiction or post apocalypse stories.

I don't think I've ever wanted to curse this badly. Well, yes I have. It was when I was reading the end of the first book. How the fuck are we still allowing the enemy to live? To me, that smacks of self-righteousness. It's the apocalypse. Folk are shambling about and eating people, can we really afford to wait for someone else to mete out justice?

Book 2 of the Deathless series successfully built upon the lore they had created. Focusing more on a new creature more so this time, Chris Fox is creating an expansive and fun world.

Some of the action points were predictable, but there were also things I did not see coming. As well as a fun reference to the Twilight series.

Onward my steed, to book 3!

Worse than zombies.

This story gets very gruesome in a lot of areas. The author did an excellent job of keeping my interest. If you like werewolves you will definitely get hooked on this series. I did enjoy all the other elements that were introduced also. I am looking forward to the next story.

Chris writes an interesting book on zombies and werewolves following up his first book. This book is fast paced and full of action. A pure fantasy type story but interesting. I think you will be entertained with this book if you like anything to do with zombies or werewolves or maybe dark world corporations manipulating from the shadows..

Just not sure how to review this book without spoilers. Suffice to say, things are more complicated than we were led to believe. There's more to the zombie virus than meets the eye. I really like the take on the Deathless that Fox is taking. The world and the mythos is fascinating.

As the second book goes this one is definitely worth the read. The main story has picked up the pace and is getting better and better. I cant wait for the next book. If this book is any indication the third book will be crazy.

While Irakesh wanted to be a god. He still doesn't understand the new world order. Steve is still looking out for himself and everyone else can go to hell.

Movie?

The more I read, the more hooked I get. And I can't help thinking that these books would make one hell of a Netflix series.
