I learned a very important life lesson at cheerleading auditions on Monday morning, and it was this: Most gay cheerleaders were probably straight and girl crazy when they joined, then realised that it doesn’t matter how hot a girl is- once you saw her in open competition, you’d sooner cut off your penis, than approach a girl with one again!

Forget basket tosses- these girls are basket cases. The only thing more inhuman than doing the Chinese splits, is laughing at another human when they get stuck halfway through the torturous activity. And when that girl is a bit overweight and trying her hardest to keep up, laughing is unforgivable- and when that girl has Down syndrome on top of it all- laughing becomes criminal.

I counted at least eight criminals. Out of thirty! Those odds SUCK. I am never voting for a female political candidate, if this is how cutthroat they got over high-school politics!

Unless Bronte goes for it though… right now she's voted queen of my heart, Miss Congeniality and Prom Queen. Um… if we had prom queens here. Whatever- she's better than all of them.

I want her back! But the harder I hold onto her, the faster she's slipping away. Maybe it's a blessing for me that everyone's trying to hold her down in social pariah land, and they're waiting for her to exhaust herself by trying to climb up from under them.

But they're all wrong and whether she knows it or not, Bronte isn’t climbing anything- she's planting detonators along the foundation of the loser/popular barricade. And when those bombs go off, everyone will be blown together together and they're right to be scared.

But I don't want to escape the carnage like the otters though- I want to pass Bronte the lighter.

But sadly, I think she's going to do it by herself, no matter how hard we all are fighting to be at her side.

Drama Unlocked

After reading Venom, I was curious to see how things would play out and let me tell you… So. Much. Drama!! Lmao I forgot how much of it there could be in high school and this just brought it all back! 🤣 I super appreciated the way individual characters got to show their own emotions and side of things, and how much emotion and self doubt drives you as a teenager. How easily miscommunication can spread negativity like wild fire. Definitely recommend.

Whoa

I had to stop periodically throughout this book because it was kind of upsetting on how some of the girls were treated. It made me sad but then I had to go right back to the book because I wanted to find out what was going to happen next. Who will Brontë end up with?
