My name is Chloe Winter. Or at least it was before they came for me. Before they locked me in a padded cell. Before I escaped. And before everything I thought I knew came crashing to pieces. The Tumultus has me. The Pontifex wants me. And I don’t know who to believe anymore. Who am I? Whose side am I on? Will I survive any of this?
This is the third installment in the Violet Blake novella serial series.
I wrote THE ELDER ORIGINS and THE KEEPER'S REALM. I love Florence + the Machine, Southern Comfort, Spaghetti, and Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream.
This book is pretty much entirely flashbacks and I understand not everyone liked it. I, on the other hand, found it incredibly fascinating.
We get to learn a lot about Chloe, the older sister who infiltrated the Tumultus before Shawn. We also get a number of scenes from Rebekah's perspective which, while horrible, are incredibly informative and fascinating in a car crash kind of way.
I love that we got all this backstory and from fresh perspectives.
I still enjoy continuing with this storyline although this book was more about the sibling that came before Shawn Cassidy/Violet Blake. On to book four.
