The Empowered Empath: Owning, Embracing, and Managing Your Special Gifts

Rate this book
If you're among the 1 in 20 people born as an "empath," life's about to get a whole lot better...

• Does being with certain people leave you physically drained?
• Do you seem to soak up other people's emotions like a sponge?
• Do you feel overshadowed by others, not sure who you really are?
• Have you tried other advice for empaths to no avail?
• Do you secretly worry there's something wrong with you?

Life as an empath (someone who can experience another person's reality) can be wonderful. And confusing. While it can give you an edge in every arena of your life, for unskilled empaths, it can mean a bewildering tidal wave of unwanted, unwelcome and usually unconscious empath merges with other people's energy. And that's no fun. But...

What if you could learn how to turn that connection off whenever you wanted?

That's the promise of The Empowered Empath. While both substantive and fun to read, don't let the lighthearted tone fool you: These are serious skills from the world's foremost expert at helping "born empaths"—Rose Rosetree.

In this visionary work, Rosetree offers nothing less than:

Simple, straightforward and proven techniques for consciously controlling your empath gifts—on command.

And it gets better. Along the way, you'll discover that many "guru-prescribed" activities are, in fact, unnecessary, don't work, and can't work. These include such "busywork" as:

• Protecting yourself against "psychic vampires"
• Using thoughts, feelings or behaviors to manage your sensitivity
• Constantly trying to "clean up your energy field"
• Doing grueling, ongoing work on your "boundaries"

Instead, you'll discover a path that's far easier and more effective, and one that'll leave you with an enhanced sense of self, along with greater peace of mind, clarity, and personal power. Quit suffering and start living!

Note: This is the full-length version of Rose's power-packed book for empaths. For a shorter edition, choose The Empowered Empath—Quick & Easy .

Rosetree's books are definitely the best empath books.

Her techniques are easy to learn and really work. They're also not weird, nonsensical, or flashy.... they just plain work. She has another book called "Spiritual Cleansing and Protection" that teaches several different healing skills which are also easy to learn, thoroughly explained, and give results. So, I have learned to trust her work.

"The Empowered Empath" is part of a series of Empath books that Rosetree wrote; I've read most of them. I think this is probably the one to start with. You get to learn about all of the different empath gifts (Intellectual Empath, Crystal Empath, Mechanical Empath, etc etc etc) and which gifts you have. So interesting and fun to read.

Rose Rosetree continues to inspire and fascinate me teaching new ways to grow in life. I always wondered why I seemed to be more sensitive than other people. I took the quiz in her book, and discovered I’m an empath.

There are different types of empaths and Rose teaches easy and fun ways to use this gift to grow more as a person. Turns out it’s a gift! :-)

The Empowered Empath Owning, Embracing, and Managing Your Special Gifts (An Empath Empowerment® Book) (Series Book 3) by Rose Rosetree
This book was a true gift. I had no idea that the "sixth sense" that was always with me was actually a thing, not just me. But it is a thing, and it has a downside. Rosetree's research and simple countermeasures have helped me "turn it off" when unneeded and feel so much lighter in the process. The explanation of empath powers as a spiritual and subconscious manifestation explained so much. Kudos to Ms. Rosetree!

This is one of a series or books aimed at explaining what an empath is, and it gives practical skills to deepen your empowerment as an empath. Rose Rosetree is the only author and Empath Coach I have found that knows how to help empaths end their struggle, gain a stronger sense of self, have more self authority and start using their power. Ultimately, Rose helps empaths become skilled empaths who are much more effective in life.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of phonies who claim they are Empath Coaches, and misinformed Empath Coaches who probably want to help, but are instead creating a life of even more misery for empaths. The troubling thing is, that these co-called teachers don't even know what an empath is and they have no practical skills to help. If you think you are an empath, I suggest checking out Rose Rosetree's Empath book series by starting at book 1, 'Empath Empowerment in 30 days'.

I was lucky to find out by Rose in a Energy Spirituality session that I am an empath with at least one significant gift for directly experiencing what it is like to be another person, as quoted in Rose Rosetree's book. Directly experiencing what it is like to be another person is what an empath is, it doesn't have to be a curse: learning skills from a professional Empath Coach can help you and other empaths become much more effective in every aspect of life.

Finding Rose saved me a lot of grief and misery. I gained a thorough education on what an empath is, and isn't, learned the many different empath gifts, and how to turn those gifts off. If you are an empath, I recommend you read this book, it has been lifechanging learning to turn off my gifts, trust me you are in for a treat!

Many websites that claim they are Empath Coaches think that empaths are very emotional and highly sensitive, this is something that is very common on many empath websites. Although some of this can be true in some cases, it is a very vague and an unhelpful description of what an empath is. Knowing what I know now, these people do not have the standing to be Empath Coaches as they do not know much or anything about how to effectively help empaths be more effective.

In Rose Rosetree's book, she dedicates a chapter for every empath gift. Did you know there are 15 empath gifts and only two of them have anything to do with emotions? Rose explains the unique qualities for all 15 empath gifts, the potential problems that come with not turning off those gifts, and what is so amazing about having each empath gift.

If you are an empath, you will relate to at least one of these gifts. If you read this book cover to cover and implement the skills in order in the way they were intended, you will learn what an empath is, what empath gifts you relate to, and how to turn off those gifts.

So in conclusion, for you own sanity, please read Rose Rosetree's Empath Empowerment book series, starting at book 1, 'Empath Empowerment in 30 Days'; I doubt you will regret it.

I found this book to be incredibly frustrating to read. Mostly to do with the style. The author never lets up on trying to maintain a light, bubbly, humouristic tone which frankly just got on my nerves. I never once raised a smile at her 'chirpy' use of language and phrasing or her 'comical' metaphors. It may be that she adopts this style in order to engage the reader, perhaps to facilitate learning, but it is so over the top that it is a distraction. She constantly refers to the reader as 'Brave Empath' which may be an attempt at motivation, but to me just felt condescending. A previous review here (the authenticity of which is questionable, reading as it does as a full-on sales pitch) comments that there is no 'fluff'. This is completely wrong; the book is so filled with fluff - it's overflowing with fluff. As a reader, you have to wade through so much repetition, so much pointless language, in trying to sift out what the message is. There is apparently an abbreviated version of the book which is probably a bit better, but I wouldn't count on it being a great read either.

Another infuriating aspect is the way the author builds up expectation. The book offers help for empaths, but first comes page after page of convincing the reader that empaths exist, that this is really is a problem for people, that there are hundreds of ways of being an empath, that her methods are better than anyone elses methods for dealing with empath ability, and that once you have learned her proposed skill set then you should go of and buy her next book in the series. Only then does she reveal her five or so techniques to turn off unwilling empathic ability (and which make up about 5 % of the book's total content). It doesn't make sense - after one hundred pages and she's still going on about why you (the reader, as an unskilled empath) need to learn her techniques to become a skilled empath. But if you've bought the book and already made it through one hundred pages (of drivel) then you're obviously motivated. What's she trying to achieve by unrelentlessly driving the point home, time and time again, that you need to learn these techniques? That's why I bought the effing book in the first place, goddammit! I really lost confidence in this author because of this. Did she get paid proportionately to the number of pages she came up with (and therefore fleshed it out in absurdum)? If she was genuinely interested in helping people and not just out for the money then she could have released this book and the next book (The Master Empath - in which there are techniques to learn how to consciously turn on empathic ability) in one volume. But for some reason she didn't. I really tried to approach this book with an open mind and give the author the benefit of the doubt, but all of the above awoke my scepticism successively and did little to present the author in a more forgiving light.

As for the techniques themselves, I can't really give a fair review of them as once I reached that part of the book I was generally so annoyed and had lost almost all faith in this teacher, I couldn't bring myself to do the exercises wholeheartedly. In essence, the techniques are about repositioning one's consciousness back in the self instead of allowing it to unwittingly fly out into other people's (or things') experiences. As such, they are quite possibly helpful. I just wished they had been presented in a more balanced, neutral and genuine manner.

The good: The author presents a lot of information about empaths as well as some simple techniques that actually do help. There was much here that connected with me and made sense.

The bad: I don't personally like the writing style. It was OK for the first chapter and then got old. As another review noted, it felt as though the book was getting dragged out much longer than it needed to be, and the actual volume of techniques was quite small. I found the information to be a bit disorganized as well. Important information was stuck at the ends of chapters about something completely different or repeated several times. The whole thing could have used a good editor to clean it up.

Overall, I would recommend it for empaths wanting more than just shielding or clearing techniques. If you have good skimming and scanning skills, you'll get to the meat of the book faster.

I have finally finished this book. It was a very well-taught system, teaching me step-by-step how to become a Skilled Empath.

***
While I'm still reading it, The Empowered Empath is such an important read for all empaths and Highly Sensitive People. I highly recommend reading it after Empath Empowerment in 30 Days.
