I found that most of the recipes were heavy on the use of soy and sugar. I believe that this is an old-school vegan philosophy that needs to change. As well the recipes were complex and time-consuming.
As always Fresh offers some tasty and brilliant recipes. There are always the old favorites but most definitely some new offerings that I can't wait to try. I have every one of the Fresh recipe books and each new book provides some new favorite dishes for me and my family. I was pleasantly pleased by this book. There are so many kind of orthodox bland vegan cookbooks. This is not, it is vibrant. The authoresses really walk their talk, coupled with honed recipes from their restaurant. The section on juices and smoothies is worth the entire book, there are so many great drink recipes. But..there is a lot more, many vegan pancake recipes. creative tofu recipes, the list goes on. Recommended.
