Introducing Hello, World, an exciting new board book series that pairs early learning concepts with colorful, stylish illustrations of cities around the world.
Paris is a treasure trove of fascinating there are triangles at the Louvre Museum, rectangles at Notre-Dame Cathedral, arches at the Arc de Triomphe, and stars in a beautiful Parisian night sky. Explore shapes all over Paris in this gorgeous board book!
When teaching shapes to young children, this would be a wonderful book to read as a whole class. You can teach students about the many shapes, as well as turn it into a game that can help check for understanding. (Who can spot the shapes first?) I will be adding this beautiful illustrated children's book into my classroom library.
Jack borrowed this book from the Ashland Public Library. Dada read it to him before bed.
This book features well-known landmarks and sites from Paris and asks the reader to identify shapes within them. It's beautifully illustrated and feels like how Paris would look as a cartoon. Super cute and pretty. Jack seems to like London and New York better so far.
This is another favorite by the same author of London: A Book of Opposites in the Hello, World series. While my daughter has never visited Paris, she marvels at the dreamy shapes of Versailles, the Louvre, and other Parisian treasures. It was also the way she learned her shapes so early!
I love that the little ones can join along with us on our reading adventure. This book is a book of shapes. Very easy. The colors are vibrant and beautiful.
This is an interesting addition to the "shape book" genre. Readers will identify shapes while also learning more about what Paris culturally has to offer. The illustrations are bright and the shapes are easy to identify.
For: readers looking for an alternate shape book.
Possible red flags: some readers may not appreciate the added tidbits about the Paris culture/attractions in their shape book.
Edit: This book is much better now that I'm almost three! I know all of the shapes now and had fun looking for them in all of the pictures. It was a really fun game.
This book is only ok. I don't really understand shapes yet, so I don't get the point. I did like the stars.
A beautiful, simple board book filled with the wonder of Paris with the inclusion of an educational introduction to shapes. A vividly colorful addition to any young traveler-at-heart's library.
