We should chase away from what we’re scared of, right? Run as fast as we can. Yet some of us seem to veer toward chaos and destruction…

Chloe sees anguish and despair lurking beneath the surface of Cai Matthews, the dark and dangerously handsome freelance photographer she meets on her first day in a new job. She can’t see straight in his presence—blinded by a blistering sexual attraction that has the potential to sweep her clean off her feet.

When Cai disappears from the workplace and doesn’t come back, Chloe tries to find out more about his life but all she knows is he’s set to inherit a ton of money and his aunt runs one of the most famous fashion magazines in the world.

Cai is running from a complicated past he doesn’t like talking about. Gossip columns rage with speculation concerning him and his aunt, who took guardianship of Cai after his parents died.

Conscientious journalist Chloe has a mind for details and once she gains access to his world, Cai realises she could undo every, single dirty little secret that he and his aunt have tried desperately to cover up.

Some readers run at Sarah with hugs and kisses, while others shoot daggers at her for killing their favourite character off. Sarah can only apologise and say, "The story made me do it..."

Sarah Michelle Lynch is a former journalist who wrote a trilogy of science fiction novels while on maternity leave. In 2012 she took a deep breath and published the "Ravage Trilogy" which was later re-edited and became the UNITY novels. Sarah is lucky that some readers have been with her since the very beginning and have read all the different books she’s written.

It quickly became clear from reader response that Sarah has a flair for penning erotic scenes and so, Sarah took inspiration from real-life people around her and wrote "A Fine Profession", a compelling and compassionate read. At book signings readers often confess in a whisper that they’ve read this book – Sarah’s first erotic novel – and sometimes, readers have even admitted it’s their personal favourite.

Sarah loves nothing more than to put her feet up with a book and be consumed by a story, so in turn, she endeavours to give you all this and more.

Love hate story

In my opinion, a good book can make you love the characters one minute, yet loathe them the next and this is what this author did for me. I haven't decided yet whether I'll read the next in the series, but this book was definitely a ride and a half

Excellent Story!!

I never expected for this book to be so good! The twist & turns are still happening. The only drawback is the story continues with 6more books. Hats off to this writer for her subplots!

Disclaimer: Not suitable for younger readers. Contains strong sexual content.

In Unbind we have two characters running from their pasts for a fresh start. An unexpected meeting creates an instant fire between the two but that same past they are running from is also the very thing that keeps them from opening up to the future.

The story is surly a romantic tale with some very good erotica done tastefully so, romantic fans and erotica fans will both be satisfied with the book. Now don't let the word "erotica" fill your head with biases of low frills myopic plot line centered on the carnal interactions of the characters. Take out that content and you still have an enjoyable read. Think of it as the icing on an already tasty cake.

If I had any complaints, it would be that there are still a lot of questions to be answered. Readers that follow my reviews know that I dislike stories that do not have a clear ending so that they can stand on their own. I understand the authors want to tickle the curiosity for the next edition to the series I think that further explanation of the characters past would not have hindered readers thirst for the next book and would have ensured others stay connected to the series and not stopping after being frustrated.

Two people with pasts they are running away from end up colliding in this story and when they do there are sparks, heat, and fireworks! Chloe leaves everything from her past behind including her job and the place she called home in order to start fresh. This is working great until she meets another wounded soul, namely Cai. I absolutely fell head over heels in love with both of them and when they are together, the heat steam comes right off the pages! They may feel that their pasts are worth leaving there in order to move forward, but Cai's aunt has different ideas and wants them nowhere near each other. This is part romance, part suspense, and part erotica and together combine for a perfect trifecta! Strong characters make a strong story that much better and this is a story you will love to read over and over again. You may need to because as you read it and think you know what is going to happen next, BOOM, something totally different happens and you are left wondering how you missed that! Definite addition to your TBR shelf if you are looking for a hot romance that will leave you fulfilled.

Sarah Lynch's characters are journalist Chloe and photographer/artist Cai. They have both grown up in dysfunctional families and have accompanying emotional baggage and scars to prove it. They find solace (and much more for fans of erotica!) in each other's arms. Naturally curious due to her newspaper background, Chloe is intent on finding out why Cai is so desperate to escape from the clutches of his aunt Jennifer. As she begins to solve the mystery relationship between Jennifer and Jennifer's sister Claudia (Cai's mother), Chloe starts to unravel Cai's family secrets and and also Cai's complex personality.

A well written psychological romance, although at one point I do admit to becoming a little lost in the intricacies of the Jennifer/Claudia relationship. That apart, the sparks between Chloe and Cai fly with Sarah Lynch's usual 'sexpertise', bringing together two troubled souls in a passionate and joyful union.

I received this book free in exchange for an honest opinion.

I received a copy of this book in return for leaving an honest review.
Sarah is a new to me author, and after reading Unbind, I only have regret that I did not now of her sooner.
Unbind was a total mind ****. Just when you think you have things kinda sorta figured out it all get a flipped upside down. It's one of the greatest things about this book. It is a great combination of Romance and a Psychological thriller with delicious heap of erotica thrown in the mix. I really freaking loved this book.
While reading it it did seem to drag in spots but that was always soon forgotten. And looking back I've come to the conclusion that it, in fact, did not drag. The pace was just a bit uneven. It would speed up then take a twist and slow down. But I can't even complain about that, and I actually enjoyed it. I cannot wait to read the second book in the series. While things where gathered together at the end, and it didn't end in a cliffhanger, it just wasn't necessarily put completely in a box and wrapped up.

*A Copy of this Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*

The synopsis you will have read before ‘Unbind’ gives the bare bones of this romantic tale. What it doesn’t say is that the underlying story is good enough to stand alone as a novel without the undoubted chemistry between Chloe and Cai, and without the extremely well described sex scenes. For once, and here I congratulate the author, each love scene was individual: not merely a rehash of the same actions such as we often read.

You will soon guess that each is carefully hiding events in their past but
I for one was surprized at one or two of the revelations when all details are revealed. It is easy to love the central characters but Sarah brings to life just as vividly each and every one of the minor ones.

This review is from: Unbind (Sub Rosa Series Book 1) (Kindle Edition)

I do not usually go for these types of books because of the graphic nature, but I fell in love with Chloe and Cai (love that name), and just HAD to find out how their story was going to end. The author developed these characters so effortlessly, piecing their back stories together as the plot progressed. The mysterious nature of ALL of the characters throughout was quite thrilling and kept me guessing all the way to the end. This author definitely knows how to write a HOT love scene, using words that are not for virginal ears or the faint of heart. Surprisingly, each love scene was unique; I was worried they would all just repeat. I would definitely read other books by this author and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a dirty romance novel. I am proud to be the first to review it. Well done, Sarah!

Unbind is a mystery/thriller/romance. Cai Matthews has had a rough childhood and he tries to keep it to himself. He enjoys his job as a free lance photographer. There is a mysterious relationship between him and his Aunt who runs a famous magazine.

Chloe, had been working as journalist at a small magazine when she gets her dream job and moves to London. She leaves behind a past she doesn't want to deal with. She meets Cai at work and her interest is peaked. They develop a friendship and Chloe is lust struck in Cai's presence.

Chloe's natural curiosity gets to her and she can't help but dig into Cai and his relationship with his Aunt Jennifer and the horrible passing of his mother.

Sarah Lynch has written a great mystery book with well written sex scenes. Unbind covers a gamut of emotions, was a real page turner and I would be happy to recommend Unbind.

I found the book a pleasure to read, down to earth and showing understandable emotions in the twisted characters. Surrounded by luxury yet weighed down with sickening memories, Cai and Chloe fall in love. I'm not interested in explicit sex, yet the scenes will appeal to some readers, and are written so well that they hardly offend. I skipped those sections, relying on the plot to entice me forward. Chloe's unique thoughts drew me into her rise in a career of journalism, featuring fashion descriptions and with various personalities of those around to guide her. Despite self doubts, she does well. Her lover Cai remains a mystery although he hints at events from his sordid childhood. Worried for Chloe, I followed the fantastic plot, which kept my attention with twists and turns to the very end. With it's faultless writing, I can do no better than give this book five stars.

Review of Unbind

I received this book as an advanced reader copy from Sarah Michelle Lynch, the Author. Trying to make this review spoiler free isn’t easy.

First of all I had never heard of this author before (even though I have a couple of her books and liked her author page on Facebook) and had not heard about this release so I had no pre conceptions. The book has a great cover very eye catching in blue tones.

The book starts at a funeral setting a somber tone with Cai discussing the house with his Aunt but quickly moves on. I loved this book I really enjoyed the well-written story and quickly fell in love with the characters, twists and turns. Will be reading all Sarah’s books now.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!!

FOR THOSE WHO RATED THIS BOOK HIGH, CLEARLY WE DON’T LIKE THE SAME BOOKS! BUT I WILL BREAK DOWN MY RATING.

This book was so confusing! And don’t get me started on the grammar and punctuation. There was exclamation marks when the characters were just talking and not yelling and question marks when it was a statement not a question.

And if I were to overlook this, how can Chloe be in love with an immature ass? Cai sees a rose on her desk then takes off to NY without a word until she discovers he’s there? Really? And Cai was continuously gaslighting her.

Example, they tell each other they love one another and when she asks when did he know, he makes a comment about why do chicks do that? Ask such a question? Hmm…a real winner!

Example two, Cai takes her to a burlesque show just to see her reaction because he thinks she slept with Klaus in which Chloe admitted to fooling around with him. Then plot twist he tells her she took his virginity which is why he’s insecure. And why did we need half a chapter about all the guys she fucked?! Plot twist again, he lied. She didn’t take his virginity. In fact for 6 months of their relationship he lied. About pretty much everything. Why? He was scared!? Yeah I don’t get it.

Then there was the terrible dialogue between them.

Example, Chloe is at the airport. “If I need you… will you come? If it gets bad… would you?” I beseeched his honesty. “Bad?” His head shot up. We eyed one another, our eyes flickering and assessing. “Some days I get really sad when I think about things too much. It might get worse now I know you’re in love with me, because living without you will kill me.” - and Chloe is suppose to be the older and wiser one.

Another two great examples between Cai to Chloe - “Good. You’ll still keep your figure. I want breasts and my big ass, still.” “Hell, I’m freaking yours you nasty bitch”

This part made me want to stop while my brain was still intact but I just needed to see where this train wreck was going. Not sure about you but this says love! …..We hung up and I went back into his bedroom, finding him awake.“Oh, shit.”“Yeah, I kinda heard your neighing.”I rushed the bed and plopped myself on him. “Neighing?”“Yeah, you laugh like a horse. Haven’t you heard yourself?” “You, pig.” Such words of adoration.

Although Cai was an ass, Chloe was no prize. Chloe being told that her father almost died and she says “is that really all you called me about?… I have a life here, you know?”- yup! She’s a keeper all right.

But then again, readers must love this proposal “Marry me?”…”hell yeah!”…”I love you big style!”. Plot twist the ring was fake.

This book was confusing as fuck and I just didn’t get it. Read to the end sadly and just didn’t get it. Train wreck of a book and I couldn’t delete this book off my kindle fast enough.

And to think this is part of a series!! Hell no…not in this lifetime.

Journalist Chloe is leaving her past behind to start a new job in a new city. Everything is going great until she meets Cai Matthews. He is a mysterious photographer who she cannot stop thinking about. She believes that he feels the same way, until he randomly stops coming into work.
Chloe then finds she is not the only one who is trying to forget her past. Cai's aunt, Jennifer, seems to want to keep Cai and Chloe apart. Can Chloe and Cai forget their past, be together, and live happily ever after? Or will everything come crumbling down?

Wow! Where do I begin? I am a huge fan of love stories with a twist of mystery but this book blew my mind. I have no idea how Sarah Michelle Lynch managed to mix together the perfect amount of love, intimacy, and mystery. There were so many twists in this story, you never saw any of them coming. No spoilers here, but prepare to lose it when a BIG twist comes your way.

You will also fall in love with the characters. I wish I was as cool as Chloe, and as lucky as she was to find a man to fall madly in love. You might also sympathize with Cai; someone who struggles to find who he is. These characters are so relatable, which draws you in even more. The past effects all those in this story, and you get to see how they will move on from the things memories that haunt them. There are 2 stories intertwined: the past and the present, but both could stand on their own. The way the author mixed them together is pure genius.

I honestly could not put this book down, and luckily there is a 2nd book coming sometime this year. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I strongly suggest you take a chance on this book; you won't be disappointed!

I read back over the synopsis of the book once I had finished reading, trust me this book is so much more than what is written in the synopsis.

This book has interwoven elements of romance, mystery, erotica, psychological thriller and so much more.

There are secrets and lies embedded within the story that once they become clear only raise more questions and doubts.

The story flows really well and as we delve deeper into the characters secrets we get a better understanding of each character.

The story I set in modern times and deals with very real mental health issues, Sarah handles situations beautifully in her writing. The sex scenes are in context to the story and they are hot!!!

I'm unsure what to say about the characters, I really liked Chloe, she was down to earth and a realist in her thoughts and opinions. Cai confused me, he is a angry young man but at the same time very caring and tentative to Chloe's needs. Its his families dark secrets and lies that Chloe finds herself having to deal with. Being a journalist she uses her skills to slowly reveal the truth.

Even once she has revealed the truth then Sarah (author)puts another twist in right at the end of the book. Thank god book two is coming out shortly as I really need answers and to process what I have read. I feel that at the end of the series I am going to have a huge bookhangover!

Read the book and discover the secrets for yourself. Find out if there really is No way out?

Beautiful Tragic Love Story

This is a story of love, lies, and secrets. Chloe is a woman who has been through a rough life. Chloe being super daughter, awesome sister, and best friend she is tried to the ends of her soul. She has let the tragic events of her life play a big role and she need to see if she can get out and change it.
Cai is a man that has live life in a strange way. Cai was raised in a house full of lies and deceit. When the tragic death of his parents happens, he has to live with his aunt Jennifer that he doesn't know and likes the well.

When Cai meets Chloe he realize that he wants her and wants to change is life around for the better.
Can Cai and Chloe have a life together or is all the lies and deceit going to unbind them.

I give this book 4 1/2 stars and would definitely recommend it.

I'd like to give this a 3.5 stars because for the most part I liked the book and characters a lot. Chloe and Cai were well developed. There were a few parts in the book, especially towards the end, where I couldn't put it down. However, there were also several parts that seemed unnecessary and kind of dragged on leaving me bored at times.
