Not a Great Book, Nor a Positive Improvement to the Val Ryker series
Fortunately, this wasn’t as down-and-out stupid as the ‘other’ short story written to include Val Ryker — but — NEITHER of these short stories complement and/or improve on the Val Ryker stories ... why were they even written?!?
2.5 stars. Didn't realise until about halfway through that this was the second book in a series. I didn't really need to read the first book as the Sheriff - the MC of the series - didn't appear all that much here.
I liked the tension and pacing of the story. The Police Chief (crossover from another series) came across wimpy and not flowing easily into this story. I struggled with suspending disbelief for the paranormal parts.
