This is my first experience with a Gemma Morr book, and I'm very pleasantly surprised. You pretty much get exactly what you’re promised: a fast-paced paranormal romance with plenty of yearning, “touch her and die,” found family, spice and intrigue, as well as a solid set-up for the next book. Whatever and whenever that is, I have absolutely no idea unfortunately, but thankfully there’s no crazy cliff-hanger to ramp up my stress levels while we wait for that announcement. I’ve seen this marketed as a “cowboy paranormal romance,” and I guess it kind of is, since it’s set on a ranch and the MMC wears a cowboy hat a bunch? But that’s pretty much the extent of the cowboy-ness, other than the fact that they breed horses? I feel like a lot of werewolf stories are set in similar places without the cowboy marketing, though? Anyway, I digress. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read, and I’ll definitely be picking up the second book, especially if we get to see more of Lena and Tanner, because the tension between them over the course of two measly pages? Yes. Yes. I'm in.
I went into this expecting a paranormal cowboy romance. What I got was vampires, wolves, dryads, humans, ranch politics, danger, yearning so intense it should probably be regulated, and an alpha hero whose entire personality can be summed up as:
“MY MATE.”
And reader? I ate. Every. Single. Word.
Gemma has taken everything I loved about the Diamond Back Ranch world and thrown a supernatural twist at it. We have forbidden romance, fated mates, found family, forced proximity, rival alphas, ancient magic and a Yellowstone-inspired ranch setting full of werewolves and secrets.
Clark is the kind of MMC who sees one threat directed at his woman and immediately enters touch her and I’ll kill you mode. Which, as a community, I think we’ve all agreed is excellent for our health.
The chemistry between Clark and Elin was ridiculous. The tension? Immaculate. The yearning? Criminal. Every interaction had me kicking my feet and whispering “oh we’re DOWN BAD.”
My only complaint is that I have finished it and now must somehow continue living my life.
Gemma, you’ve absolutely KILLED THIS!!!!!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be sitting (not patiently) waiting and praying for Tanner and Lena’s story because I need it immediately!!!
3,5⭐️ I liked this paranormal romance. I just wished it brought something different to the genre, but it kept reminding me of Bride. The setting is somewhat similar. Elin is a half dryad, half vampire, that ia offered as sacrifice to the wolves. She is ready to fight before dying, but quickly learns the wolves, especially the alpha Clark, are good. I wish there was more world building. Because of that, the stakes weren’t feeling that high for me. The romance was okay but a bit lusty. I was just expecting more from this book, and while it was okay and I’m sure fans of paranormal romances will enjoy, it didn’t wow me in any way.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an arc of this book, opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this one! As someone who has only read one other werewolf book, I definitely had a bit of a learning curve with the different species, hierarchies, and lore, but once I got my bearings, I was able to follow along without feeling too lost. I especially liked the tension between the different species and the mystery woven throughout the story. The pacing kept me hooked, too!
I will say, though, that I think the “cowboy” marketing was a little generous. It’s primarily a ranch setting, and while Clark does wear a cowboy hat, I wouldn’t necessarily go into this expecting a traditional cowboy romance.
Also, I’m sorry, but every time I read the name Clark now I have to picture David Corenswet. Sorry not sorry!
Overall, this was a really fun read and definitely made me want to read more from Gemma Morr. I’ll absolutely be continuing the series, especially if Tanner and Lena are next!

Having really enjoyed Gemma Morr’s previous cowboy duology, I couldn’t wait to dive into Sacrifice Me, and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
This is an action-packed paranormal romance filled with werewolves, vampires, and dryads, creating a rich fantasy world that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The pacing is fast, with plenty of twists, danger, and tension, balanced nicely with a swoony alpha wolf romance.
The side characters were memorable, well-developed, and added so much depth and humour to the story. I found myself just as invested in them as I was in the main couple.
The romance had great chemistry, and the alpha wolf hero delivered all the protective, possessive vibes you’d expect while still allowing room for emotional development.
Overall, Sacrifice Me is an exciting, addictive read with fantastic world-building, compelling characters, and enough action to keep the pages turning. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!
This book SO started my werewolf era. I loved everything about this story so much. The characters are executed perfectly from the good guys to the bad guy. All of the have their own vibe and traits. I really enjoy that.
The chemistry between Elin and Clark is so unique. I love them together. The scene at the bar made me tear up as well. I felt so bad for her and what she said to him hit right home. I love one sentence from the book especially where Clark says that their love language is loyalty and Elin speaks it fluently. That really stuck with me.
I also like that there are several types of supernatural beings and also mixes of species. Further, I love that the author takes all the werewolf clichees we know and creates a whole new werewolf narrative.
I was so excited to read this arc, I love Gemma Morr’s books! As someone that grew up in the Twilight era this sounded right up my street. Elin had such a hard life, so isolated and sad. I wanted so much for her. Clarke was the absolute gentleman I knew he would be, I loved him! I also loved Rosie, she’s such a sweetheart. There was so much mystery throughout the book, I always had questions. I loved the ending, it was really satisfying but still left me wanting more. I can’t wait to read what comes next for the pack.
Though I did find the writing alittle cliched at times, the plot and vibes were there and I loved every second.
I would say towards the end where bigger parts of the plot happen (no spoilers) that it felt underwhelming like we've built up to it for majority of the book for the outcome to only actually be talked about over 4/5 pages.
From one of the major reveals, I am guessing this will turn into a series now but through different couples perhaps?
Quick and easy read, if you like cowboys and werewolves this may be one to try!
An irresistibly captivating romance steeped in paranormal twists and turns, with a gorgeously atmospheric setting that blends Yellowstone’s western charm with Twilight’s moody allure.
Desperately hoping for a second book set in this richly woven universe, as there’s so much left to explore - and perhaps a little hint towards a new couple right at the end? 🐺

I adored Gemma's other cowboy books so i knew when she was writing a paranormal cowboy book i was going to insta love it, and i was right! It was amazing! I LOVED this book omg. I am a big lover of paranormal romance books. Its the genre that got me into reading, Hello Twilight, and its the genre that always gets me most excited! There is just something about vampires and werewolves in our world that just makes me so happy!
Elin is struggling with life after her mum disapears, as anyone would. Her bond with Lena just makes me so happy, i love it when the FMC has a ride or di e bestie! Elin is strong and she is so funny, i love her humor so much!
Clark is 100% a hot Alpha Cowboy Daddy! ooooof yes please! I loved how he is with his pack, how they respect him and help him get his moments or normalltiy while being Alpha.
Those two togther are amazing, i love how they immedictly just connect and their humors just bounce togther! Its not insta love, but its just about. Theyy fight thier feelings but nature calls and when it did i kicked and screamed and giggled!
I really love the background story of the conflict between the different speices and how everything going on is part of a bigger picture! I cannot WAIT for the next book! I hope i don't have to wait long! Especilly if it’s about a certain two others i shall not name heheheh!
Thank you so much to Pan Macmillan, Pan and NetGalley for sending me an ARC of Sacrifice Me in exchange for an honest review.
Gemma Morr, you crafty little minx. I did not know that I desperately needed a paranormal cowboy romance, but somehow you did!!
Elin is an outcast in her small town - a hybrid dryad/vampire who is being punished for something that happened following some pretty horrendous trauma. Her father was brutally murdered, her mother was kidnapped by wolves, and Elin was left to fend for herself. The town elders decide that the final stage of her punishment is to be sent to a wolf pack in Yellowstone disguised as a human sacrifice, whilst really working to uncover the truth about her mother's disappearance and to dwindle the pack numbers as much as she can.
This plan falls apart as soon as she meets the pack alpha, Clark. His sole purpose is to protect his pack, his family. His pack isn't responsible for any kidnappings, and Elin quickly realises that everything she's been taught to believe about wolves is a lie. Caught between the mission she's been sent on and following her heart, all Elin knows is that she can't let Clark find out the truth about her not being human.
OK, I'm just going to get my gripes with this book out of the way quickly - the beginning of this was so clunky. All tell, very little show, and I was concerned for how the rest of the story would play out. Having read Morr's Untamed Heart, and not having any issues with the storytelling, I decided this was likely due to the nature of the worldbuilding that needed to take place and ploughed on. Once the story got going, these issues totally disappeared and I'm glad I stuck with it!
I had no idea what a dryad actually was when I started this, having heard the word before but not knowing exactly what kind of creature it was (wood nymph, i gotchu girlies) - the idea of a vampire/dryad hybrid is SO unique. I loved the juxtaposition of Elin being born of both a creature so deeply connected to the natural world, and one often kept in the darkness and shadows, feeding from the life of living creatures.
Elin was a true goth girlie and I really liked her - she was so authentic and vulnerable whilst being a total baddie. I felt awful for her as she kept learning more and more truths about just how many lies she'd been told and how mistreated she had been by folks in her hometown. Getting to find her place in Clark's pack was lovely to witness!
Clark was such a gentle giant that I'm kind of surprised he's alpha, although I suppose he is totally ruthless when it counts. Lead with kindness! I really liked him too, he protects what's his so fiercely and isn't afraid of a vulnerable, honest moment. His connection to Elin is so magnetic, and they had great chemistry and banter.
FYI, just in case that's a deal breaker for you.
This was a quick, fun read - I always love a paranormal romance, especially when it's wolves or vampires..a combo of the two is my dream! Sacrifice Me is a perfect spooky season read, if you enjoy a cowboy romance and Ali Hazelwood's Bride & Mate, I think you'll find something for you in this.
Tropes include: forbidden romance found family vampire-dryad hybrid x wolf shifter forced proximity touch her and die touch him and die
Thank you to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Having already read Gemma Morr’s previous books, I was really excited to see what exactly a cowboy/paranormal romance would be like. Turns out it’s something fresh, different, and overall just so much fun. I loved seeing her branch out into paranormal romance while still keeping the heart of what I enjoy most about her writing. It still has that cowboy charm, but adding werewolves into the mix gave it a whole new energy, and honestly, I enjoyed every moment of this story. It was such a fun read.
The Yellowstone inspired ranch setting paired with werewolves was far more addictive than I expected. Elin is a determined FMC with an intriguing backstory (don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything😜), and from the moment we meet her and discover the role she’s been set up to fulfil, I was completely invested. Clark is everything I want in an alpha hero: protective, loyal, and impossible not to root for. Their chemistry develops at a satisfying pace. I wouldn’t say it felt overly rushed either, but take that with a pinch of salt because romances do tend to move a little faster in the paranormal universe. 😂 I found myself equally invested in both the romance and the mystery surrounding the story.
One of my favourite aspects was how effortlessly the ranch atmosphere blended with the supernatural elements. Rather than feeling like two separate ideas forced together, they complemented each other perfectly, creating a world that felt both familiar and excitingly new. I honestly wasn’t sure how well cowboy romance and paranormal romance would work together, but Gemma Morr absolutely made it work.
If you loved the blend of romance, humour, and werewolf lore in Ali Hazelwood’s Bride and Mate, I think you’ll have a great time with Sacrifice Me. While Gemma Morr has her own distinct writing style, I think readers who enjoy protective alpha heroes, paranormal romance, addictive relationship dynamics, and a touch of humour will find a lot to love here. The banter between Elin and Clark genuinely had me giggling at points, and the comedic timing was spot on.
The only reason this wasn’t quite a five star read for me is that I would’ve loved a little more time with some of the supporting characters and a bit more room for a few of the bigger reveals to breathe. I also found one of the major twists a touch predictable, as I’d pieced it together before the reveal. I think there may have been one or two too many little hints along the way, so the payoff didn’t quite have the impact it could have had for me. That said, it never stopped me from eagerly turning the pages.
Overall, Sacrifice Me is a fantastic start to Gemma Morr’s venture into paranormal romance. It’s fresh, fun, romantic, and the cowboy/werewolf concept works so much better than I ever imagined. If this is the direction she’s planning to take alongside her cowboy romances, I’m completely on board. I can’t wait to see where she takes this world next, and I’m already looking forward to whatever she writes next. And if love to see more of Elin’s BFF! Sacrifice Me releases September 10th 🌶️ 3.5/5
Anyone who’s read my blog or socials in the last few years will know I’ve been a Gemma Morr fan since the very start when I read Untamed Heart, which is my favourite cowboy romance book of all time. So ultimately, I was enthralled when Sacrifice Me was announced, as paranormal romances were the very beating heart of my blog at it’s origin, so it is always a favourite genre for me. When we meet Elin, she’s living in a dryad compound as a hybrid, vampire from her father’s side, and dryad from her mother’s side. She’s being used and trained-up to infiltrate a wolf pack, disguised as a human sacrifice, a ritual they outlawed years ago but reignite between the human, dryad and wolf clans. Leaving her only true friend, Lena, is tough, but Elin knows that she wants answers to her mother’s disappearance years ago, tied to a wolf pack, even if it means knowing the dryads might see her as useless once her mission is over.
But the Yellowstone pack aren’t at all what she was told wolves were, namely Clark, their alpha. He’s soon-to-be married to a wolf who isn’t his mate, busy with keeping his pack safe from rival Claw Ridge members. The Yellowstone pack call the ranch their home, and they’re all incredibly welcoming to Elin, which only makes her feel guilty because of her ulterior motives. When she’s enigmatically drawn to Clark in a way that feels primal and mutual, something fiery and strong grows between them. Words like mate are thrown into the mix, in a way that makes Elin’s heart soar and Clark’s grip on her tighten. But Claw Ridge alpha, Tex, wants Elin for himself. Amongst the backdrop of the treeline, the mystery of Elin’s mother’s disappearance becoming clearer—and Clark’s claim on Elin deeper than thought—it’s a fight to keep Elin’s true self from those around her. Only, when the curtain is pulled and it’s all laid on the table, is the bloodshed worth fighting for if it’s something that could last forever?
I took Sacrifice Me on a break away to the rolling hills of Somerset, in at tree-covered lodge, turning pages fast as the evening mist rolled in over the mountains, completely compelled by how much it took a hold on my mind and heart. The mythology in the world that Gemma built feels like an elevated Twilight was married with Mate and her Diamond Back Ranch books. I have to admit that werewolf books have always had a grip on me (growing up with Teen Wolf and The Vampire Diaries will do that to a girl) yet with Elin’s added dryad abilities, it added this secondary layer of intrigue throughout, with so many swirls of things I love mixed together—romance, mystery, spice and topped with a heavy dose of found family. The connection between Elin and Clark was just this raw, intoxicating passion that started with a protective understanding but grew into something that was almost a need for them both. When the last page was turned, I was desperate to continue living in this world, to learn more about the secondary characters I’d grown to adore, Rosie, Kit, Tanner, Jas, Lia, and of course Lena. I’m impatiently waiting for more from Gemma in this absolute page-turning series, packed with intense chemistry and supernatural heat that paranormal romance fans will eat up.
This is my first time reading anything by this author. I'd seen and heard a lot about her cowboy series before, so when I saw Sacrifice Me was available to request on Netgalley, I jumped at the chance. The first thing that attracted me was the cutest cover, and then I found out it was cowboys mixed with vampires and werewolves. I absolutely love both genres, so I was really excited to dive in. Everything I love about cowboy and paranormal romance was here and more!
Let me tell you, I had such a blast reading this. It was so much fun! As soon as I started, I knew I was going to love it. It's an easy, addictive read that leaves you completely satisfied and eager for more.If you enjoyed Bride and Mate by Alli Hazelwood then I think you'll love this too.
Clark is our utterly hot cowboy ranching alpha.Sex appeal just oozes out of him, plus bonus pounts he plays guitar and sings in a band . Holy moly i didnt think he could get any hotter .And to top it off he has to be the biggest green flag ever , just when you think hes going to go all 'youve done me wrong ?' he goes and shows us how freaking understanding and level headed he is .Melt my heart right now cos i am done . I adore him and loved every minute he was on the page.
Elin is our hybrid vampire/dryad, constantly conflicted between both sides of herself. She's spent years hiding part of who she is, terrified of rejection after experiencing it from her own clan , but beneath all that trauma she's spunky , full of sass and witt .The things that come out of her mouth had me giggling ,shes really got no filter .
The chemistry between these two was delicious, and their banter was fantastic. The will they wont they had me gripped to my kindle .The back and fourth banter was fantastic .
The internal conversations between Clark and his pack had me howling no pun intended! They brought so much humour to the story. The side characters were all incredibly entertaining, and I loved that Elin finally found people who accepted her for exactly who she is.
Overall, Sacrifice Me was such a fun, entertaining paranormal romance with heaps of humour and heart. I can't wait to read more from this author. I am officially declaring that i have added her other books to my tbr hehe
I need to wrap my head around this one. I am ruined. This was perfection.Wow, what an incredible book. I've loved Gemma's books ever since Untamed Heart, and at this point, if she writes it, I'm reading it. Then she has the audacity to give us Sacrifice Me, where we've got a ridiculously hot alpha living on his ranch, raising horses, dealing with an upcoming binding to a woman he doesn't even want, and just trying to hold his life (and his pack) together. On the other side is Elin, a hybrid who's barely surviving and is willing to risk everything to uncover what happened to her mother and all the other women going missing. And honestly? When people say this is Yellowstone crossed with Bride, they aren't exaggerating.
Elin is sent into a werewolf pack disguised as a human sacrifice, determined to uncover what happened to her mother and destroy as many wolves as she can along the way. But everything changes when she meets Clark, the pack's alpha. Instead of the monster she expected, she finds someone fiercely loyal, protective, and impossible to resist. As rival alphas, ancient magic, and long-buried secrets come into play, Elin's mission and her heart become impossible to separate.
Clark completely stole the show for me. He was everything I want in an alpha love interest. He was protective, devoted, capable, and somehow still incredibly soft underneath it all. Did I mention he’s in a band too? I genuinely don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say I'd happily jump in front of a grizzly just so he could carry me in his arms and hold me against his half naked body until I felt better. Also, the chemistry between him and Elin was so good, and I loved the mix of fated mates, forbidden romance, forced proximity, found family, and emotional angst. Aaaaah, I still can’t get over how good this book was.
Overall, Sacrifice Me is definitely fast-paced, romantic, and packed with action, this was such an addictive read from start to finish. If you love paranormal romance with cowboy vibes, high stakes, and an alpha you'll immediately fall for, definitely add this one to your TBR.
🌙 Forced Proxomity 🤠 Cowboy Romance 🌕 Paranormal Romance 🧛♀️ Forbidden Romance 🦇 Found Family 🖤 Fated Mates

Her plan is to destroy as many werewolves as she can and learn the truth about her mother's disappearance. Then she meets the alpha and everything changes. I am here for a paranormal romance but with a twist with cowboys. I was expecting Elsie Silver meets Ali Hazelwood Bride. To be honest I thought there would be more aspects of the cowboy romance other than this book mainly takes place on a ranch. Other than that it wasn't giving cowboy romance. The first 2 chapters - I was super confused what was going on. There wasn't any world building or character development. It kind of just catapulted you right into the story with no explanation. As the story progressed I liked it more and more. I liked that it involved werewolves, dryads and vampires. This was a wonderful paranormal romance about forbidden love to start off spooky season. This book was a bit of a mystery and with the few twists and turns at the end itbhad me captivated. I loved Clark and Elin's relationship and how they found out super quickly they were fated mates. Just like with humans, when you know you know, that's why they call it love at first sight. I liked how Clark was so protective of her and he would do anything to make sure she was safe. I was first drawn to this book by the beautiful cover art and all the colors. This book was the perfect blend of paranormal romance and mystery with a hint of spice.
"To everyone that never left Forks, Sunnydale or Mystic Falls. Where the hell you been, loca?" - ANY book that hits with that dedication is going to get my attention.
Our FMC hybrid Elin's life changes when her mum mysteriously goes missing, suspecting werewolves. With a cruel twist of fate, she's bound to a deal to infiltrate a wolf pack and destroy them, disguised as a human sacrifice. She falls under the protection of the Yellowstone Pack with our MMC Alpha, Clark. Everything about Clark and the pack surprises Elin, as all she was taught appears false. Clark is devoted to his land and pack and will protect them all at whatever cost. Elin’s mission and her heart collide. Every moment brings her closer to betrayal, every touch risks exposing what she truly is. And when the truth is revealed, it could cost them everything.
The paranormal x cowboy romance I've been waiting for! Rom-com vibes but with fur and teeth 🐺🦇. This is full of slow, smoldering heat and the unraveling of a twisting plot which is building for a climax in later books, I hope 👀.
This book was easy to read and invest in. I was hooked from the beginning and steamed through as the story unraveled. One twist I did not see coming 😂. The build-up between Clark & Elin was 😘👌, the close proximity, the banter, "touch her or die," the heat—just perfect. I really enjoyed all the characters; they all fulfilled their roles. I loved the ones I should and hated the villains.
One thing I adore about Gemma's books as there is always an alternative edge. I LOVE that alternative FMC/MMC takes center stage in a book, especially one surrounding the paranormal. The playlist is on point as well. 🖤
Bring me book two now, please and thank you 🖤 Thank you so much Gemma & Pan Macmillan for the ARC 🐺♥️
Sacrifice Me by Gemma Morr was an absolute delight. It is one of those rare romantasy books that hits so many of the classic plot points while still managing to feel engaging, fun, and full of yearning—the kind that actually pays off.
Each character is described just enough that you can fully picture them without pages of repetitive details. The setting also felt unique, with a Western twist and four different species bringing some much-needed novelty to an incredibly saturated genre.
Elin is our FMC, and like many before her, she has not had an easy go of it. Unlike some other romantasy heroines, however, she remains kind, strong, witty, and quick on her feet—both mentally and physically. It was SO refreshing to have an FMC over the age of 20 who isn't constantly biting everyone's head off and actually uses critical thinking when navigating her unusual situation. She can be strong without being perpetually angry or unnecessarily reckless. I loved her!
And then there is Clark. Strong, stoic, and incredibly duty-bound, he has all the makings of the classic Alpha wolf without feeling like a caricature of one. He takes his responsibilities seriously and carries the weight of them accordingly, but there is a softness underneath it all. I especially loved that, despite everything expected of him, he still makes time for his passion for music. It gives him something that is entirely his own and adds another layer to a character who could have easily just been "the strong, brooding Alpha."
The combination of Clark and Elin was pure bliss. The yearning, the clear communication, the slow build-up, the chemistry... 10/10. Their relationship develops in a way that actually makes you want them together rather than simply telling you that they belong together, and the payoff was absolutely worth it.
*I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review*
Okay, I didn't even know how much I needed a paranormal cowboy book until I read this! It was. So. Good!
Being described as a mix of 'Yellowstone' and Ali Hazelwood's 'Bride' was a pretty perfect description for this book, mostly leaning on the 'Bride' side of things- I yearned for a more western/ ranchy atmosphere akin to Elsie Silver's books, but regardless, it still had horses, a ranch full of wolfy cowboys and a beautiful setting.
I really enjoyed the paranormal elements in this book, especially with the range of species, from werewolves, vampires and dryads. The plot mostly focused on the romance between Clark and Elin, which was honestly so full of banter, chemistry and, obviously, the fated mates thing. I shipped them so much, and adored all their scenes together. Elin is badass, she can hold her own and takes no shit, same goes for Clark, but he's so caring and kind too. Ugh, he was just the perfect alpha werewolf.
The story was great, but at times it did feel like the mystery was put on pause for the sake of the romance. It sets up a path but diverts, then brings more things that get focused on more than the original issues- such as the impending battle between species or the dryads incoming attack on Elin. It just...never really goes anywhere. We see nothing of them until the end, even though the beginning seems like they'll be more of a threat. Same as the looming prescence of the vampires. I didn't mind, but it just felt like the book changed direction and swayed off course.
Overall, this was such a fun read. It definitely reminded me just how much I love paranormal romances, and was a fast paced, spicy, romantic and wonderful book!
I have been in a reading slump for... at least six months. But this book had me feeling that itch to pick it up, something I haven't felt in a long long time. To give a bit of further context to how big this is for me - I received a digital ARC for this book, and it was in PDF form. That means that the formatting was a bit off on my Kindle, and that I couldn't use the text to speech app on my phone. So all that to say, I had to fully read this book with my eyeballs and couldn't utilize audio to support it. When you've been in a reading slump for as long as I have, reading with your eyeballs and not ears is a SLOG. But this book had me picking up my Kindle, turning everything else off, and sinking into it. That says alot.
While this book was a blast to read, it did have its faults. I found the plot to be convoluted at times and the motivations of the characters to be a bit confusing. Without getting into spoilers, since all the big reveals are at the end, I'll just say that I struggled throughout the book to understand the human women disappearances and the reasoning for our FMC to be sent as a sacrifice to the wolves. The reasoning was explained, but it felt thin and not solid enough to justify the actions everyone was taking.
One thing that did pull me out of my immersion is that this book is set in the US (it is the Yellowstone pack that we are following), but very UK terms were used. Tyres (tires) and safety belt (seatbelt) were used. Had I been listening and not reading, I don't think I would have noticed this as much.
Thank you to Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for a digital advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Elin is sent to the Yellowstone pack as a human sacrifice, tasked with secretly gathering information about her mother's disappearance. If she takes down a few wolves along the way, so be it. Then she meets Clark, the alpha of the pack. He spends his days working on his ranch and dealing with pack responsibilities, and he does not seem like the monster she was led to believe he would be. As the full moon rises, things begin to shift, both literally and emotionally, and Elin and Clark grow closer, despite the fact that he is expected to be bound to another for political reasons. Clark had convinced himself he would never find his mate. They resist their feelings for as long as they can, but the pull between them becomes impossible to ignore.
My Review Put vampires, dryads, wolf shifters, and ranch life in a book and you've got everything I love. This was amazing. I'm a sucker for a wolf shifter anyway, and Clark was HOT. And he plays guitar and sings in a band? What more could you want? He's pretty much perfect. I loved Elin too. She's sassy, quick witted, and her smart mouth was always bound to get her into trouble. I absolutely loved this book. It was great to read something a little different from Gemma, and she's proved she really knows her paranormal world building I was hooked from the very first page. "To everyone that never quite left Forks, Sunnydale or Mystic Falls. Where the hell have you been, loca?"

Thank you to NetGalley and Pan MacMillan for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a cowboy romance girl. Give me vampires, werewolves, witches, monsters… absolutely. Cowboys? Not so much.
So when I found out Gemma Morr had written a cowboy romance with werewolves, vampires, dryads, and a whole supernatural cast, I thought… okay, now you’ve got my attention!
And honestly?
That was NOT a cowboy romance… well, not in the way I expected!
Was there a ranch? Yep. Horses? Of course. Cowboy hats and boots? Absolutely.
But that’s about as cowboy as it gets. Instead, I got a fantastic paranormal romance packed with werewolves, vampires, dryads, forbidden love, pack politics, jealousy, secrets, and enough sexual tension to have me rooting for Elin and Clark from the very beginning.
Poor Elin absolutely broke my heart. Her struggle with who and what she is was so emotional, and it’s easy to understand why she feels like she doesn’t belong anywhere. Then along comes Clark, the gorgeous Alpha wolf (who just so happens to be a cowboy) and the sparks start flying.
The chemistry between these two was fantastic, but it wasn’t all romance. The different species, rivalries, and hidden secrets kept the story moving, and I was completely invested to see how it would all play out.
I went into this expecting to tolerate the cowboy bits because of the paranormal elements.
Instead, I ended up loving the whole thing…
Yes, even the cowboys.
If you’re looking for a paranormal romance that’s a little different, with plenty of supernatural drama and a cowboy setting that actually works, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go.
Well that's 3 for 3 with this author now!! I have read all three of her debut books and I have enjoyed every single one! She is fast becoming an auto buy author for me.
The vibes that Gemma manages to portray in all her books and the characters she manages to create just give me the most heartwarming feeling.
This one was obviously a different genre from her cowboy books that I read but omg I absolutely inhaled this. This is a paranormal romance book but I was only really expected to see some wolves and a cute little romance story but this had everything. Wolves, dryads, vampires, humans, inter species politics, secrets, betrayals. The plot was plotting. I honestly enjoyed this so much. I couldn't stop reading.
This was such a fun time and really scratched my wolf itch that I seem to have right now. I loved reading about the wolves and their pack. Any time the kids were involved in the story, I really did love reading about that as a mum myself. All of the characters were really interesting tbh. I loved the banter between Clark & Elin and witnessing their story unfold. It felt very real in my honest opinion from what she went through and I was captivated.
The only thing I will say is I didn't actually know what a Dryad was so an explanation or a glossary would have helped because I ended up having to google it. The mum storyline was a tad flimsy for my liking, but that's the mum in me not understanding how she could do that to her child.
The way the book ended definitely felt like there is more to come with this series which I really am praying does happen because the way I am gagged to see Tanner's story unfold 🤞😍
Werewolves, vampires, and cowboys? Say no more! I went into this after enjoying Gemma Morr's cowboy novel Untamed Heart. Now combining cowboys with the paranormal, it somehow made sense.
Sacrifice Me had a familiar lore with the divide between dryads, vampires, and werewolves. We meet Elin who lives with a dryad clan that is her family but is hostile with her. There has been more discourse with the werewolves and they believe it to be prudent to sacrifice Elin, literally, to the wolves as an offering for peace. But there's an ulterior motive for Elin to venture into wolf territory as she hopes to find her mom. When she crosses into werewolf territory she quickly learns that everything she thought she knew is turned on its head.
We also get Clark's POV, the alpha wolf with plenty of responsibility on his shoulders but will do anything for his pack. Having to accept a sacrifice was certainly not on his agenda though.
I did have a tough time at the beginning where it felt like being thrown into the middle of a story and feeling a bit confused to what the setup was. However, I'm glad I pushed through the confusion because the story had me hooked once things were rolling. The chapters were a bit long and there were characters I wanted to learn more about, but overall I was invested. I enjoyed the pack dynamics, the intimate moments between Elin and Clark, the dramatic reveals and intense face-offs. It was a fun read and fed my paranormal romance need and love for cowboys at the same time, with a dash of musician and billionaire. There are lots of fun tropes and antics in Sacrifice Me but I don't want to spoil too much. Check it out for a fun escape!
