Edalene is a reluctant princess with a heavy burden upon her shoulders. Her future son is destined to become the next King. But when the King chooses a husband for her, she plans to run away rather than be forced into a loveless marriage. Trapped inside the palace for her entire life, Edalene has no idea what waits for her outside. Her attempt at escape is foiled by a would be assassin and she learns she is not the only one who opposes her marriage. Many in the kingdom do not want to see Edalene’s family regain the throne and they are willing to kill her to prevent it. Now Edalene is faced with a choice: marry a man she has just met or risk her life in search of freedom.
Nicolette Andrews is a born and raised San Diegan with a passion for fantasy, especially if it has a romance and some mystery and intrigue mixed it doesn't go amiss either. Apart from writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, preferably somewhere outside enjoying the San Diego sunshine.
I received this book free from the publisher and it does not affect my review. This is a story about a young woman who does not want to marry to make a better alliance with another kingdom. She is not you regular princess. She does not like to do what she is told. On her way to meet her new husband to be, she notices a handsome young man in the group from the other kingdom, Matt. She does not know who he is, and hopes by offering herself to him, the prince will not want to marry her. It all goes down hill from there. It was a very good fast read.
I loved this book more than the original series, which I didn't think was possible! I can hardly wait for the story to continue. The ending was a little short but romantic all the same. I was just hoping for a long drawn out dramatic ending because I didn't want the book to be over yet.
Another delightful and captivating read. Continuation of Duchess but can be a stand alone book.
A child born of her mother's darkest hour but royal none the less. The king looks to use her to seal an alliance. Others want to kill her to prevent her tainting the bloodline or bearing a child.
She simply wants freedom. Can she choose her own destiny and be free to follow her heart or will she be chained by duty?
Loving all of Nicolette Andrews books and I am sure you would too if you're into amazing charaters, strong female leads, and stories that pull you into tantalizing worlds.
