The Dogs of Capitalism: Origins

Rate this book
A Rare Treasure By Frater Pantha on February 11, 2008 Hardcover I bought this book thinking that I might learn about working breeds of dogs -- which I did, but never in my dreams did I think that I would get caught up in a page turning masterpiece that took me through the history of man and the forces that motivated mankind to do the things it has done...horrible things, and wonderful things. There is simply no way I can do this wonderful book justice in so limited a space but I think I should make it clear that while the book goes into detail about capitalism and dogs (together and separate) the book is so much more than that. It takes the reader on a ride through time in which Mr. Jones pulls no punches in explaining mankind, freedom, philosophy, necessity, heroes (men and dogs), the rights of man, dog breeding, property rights, the age of evil, and reason/logic. I do not agree with everything Mr. Jones says in this book, and some shall surely be outraged by the conclusions of the author, but I don't agree with EVERYTHING anyone says. I shall however agree with the opinion of anyone that says The Dogs of Capitalism is a great book. This book is a must read for anyone that is a lover of freedom and liberty. Even when you disagree with Mr. Jones (as I did more than once) it is a book that takes you on a well researched journey for truth which the author makes his best attempt to deliver honestly. Mr. Jones expresses his opinions loud and clear after presenting the facts of history, and he makes no attempt to sugar coat his ideas to conform to political or social correctness. The author is one of the few people to use the tools of reason and logic without placing restrictions on himself to spare sacred cows or taboo subjects.

Amazing book that melds western political and canine histories and culminates in an almost poetic last chapter.
