Sophie was worried about her sister Lauren. Lauren went on a week's vacation, and no one has heard from her in over a month. She did have a history of depression, and Bipolar. However she was in treatment, on medication, and doing well. Law enforcement wanted to sweep the missing person's case under the rug, and just say Lauren killed herself. Sophie had to beg the rangers to help her find her sister. Sophie stated, "She may have come here voluntarily, but she didn't just walk away from her car, her home, her job, her friends, and her family."
When Ranger Rand saw that Sophie would stop at nothing to find her sister, and would investigate on her own if she had too, Rand helped. I loved how all the Rangers worked as a team. I also like the chemistry simmering between Sophie, and Rand throughout the story. The action, and suspense was really good.
I think Cindi Myers is a talented writer, and look forward to reading more of her books. I also can't wait to see how this series ends. Each book is a stand alone, so they can be read out of order.
