When bounty hunter Jessica Knight interrupts a convenience-store robbery, walking away isn't an option. Especially when the robber—a violent fugitive wanted for murder—chooses Jessica as his next target. To make matters worse, the detective digging into the case is Ryan Spencer…her former partner. As they investigate this new crime together, Jessica and Ryan find connections to the double homicide that ended their partnership. If they can put the pieces together in time, an innocent man will be freed. But if they're too late, their own murders will be the killer's next crimes.
Book 2 in this series was similar to one book 1. Similar situations the only difference was the names of the hero and the heroine. Will I read book 3 probably. There were a few surprises but not many.
This one was the weakest in the series because of a lot of repetition. I liked the lead guy better than the lead girl; I felt like we never got to see her live up to her potential. I’d have liked it better with a bit more wrap up focused on the MCs and not so much rehashing along the way.
This 2nd book's story line was okay. I really liked the beginning of the story. Jessica & Ryan's characters was okay. I wish this story had more action. My favorite book in this series is YULETIDE FUGITIVE THREAT.
Sad. First of all, it is the formula [Hunky Male saves Damsel in Distress], but not done particularly well. Secondly, at least one part did not make sense [to say more would be a "spoiler."] Finally, and most sadly, was how the female protagonist was depicted. She and all around her describe her as competent, independent, and capable. However, the way she is portrayed, with one possible exception, she is just another Damsel to be saved by a Male.
Maybe more like 3 1/2 stars. Love this author and her books but this one was a little different? The mystery was fine but it was odd how the two main characters kept rehashing the old situations and apologizing and going over it again and again. They cleared it up early on and not sure why they kept repeating themselves. I found that to be annoying honesty. However, I still enjoyed the book enough to order the next in the series!!
This is the 2nd book I've read by Sandra Robbins. Her books are real page turners. This mystery/love story is appropriate for Christians who love a good, clean mystery.
