A lost pony is cause for a nighttime adventure on Chincoteague Island in this third book of a chapter book series inspired by Marguerite Henry’s Misty of Chincoteague .
Full Moon Fancy, Fancy for short, is a pony with a knack for getting loose. First she just tramples a herb garden, then she knocks over a wall of a chicken coop, so the hens end up all over the yard and down on the beach. When she gets out one too many times, Willa and Ben are worried she’s lost. They set out to track her down—in the moonlight! Will they find the runaway pony, or is Fancy lost for good?
This is one book in a series for early readers. For kids who love ponies or dreaming of a farm life. I found all of the characters to be pleasant, rule followers - even when put in a position where rule-breaking would make everything go a little quicker. I think any child reading this book will have the value of manners and a positive attitude reinforced in this book.
Cute story with an old timing nostalgic feel to it, but like I’ve said before this author obviously doesn’t know Chincoteague Island. There are no beaches that you can ride on on Chincoteague Island and just certain things that are ignored like the big tourist industry. It just seems like it’s going to give children the wrong idea about what the island is really likeand that kind of bothers me.
i LOVE how they get to keep starbuk at the end and that they get to go to there grandparents for a sleepover. i think this book is my favorite out of the whole series.
Love how readable this book is! I love the illustrations. I love the child characters. However, the adult characters are a bit chaotic. But yes, all’s well that ends well!
Willa and Ben are staying at Misty Inn. Their is a new horse named Fancy. Their favorite horse is Starbuck. They think their grandmother wants to give Starbuck a different home. They don't want their favorite horse to go. One day, Fancy got loose but mysteriously got back in the pasture without anybody seeing her. Fancy's breaking out seemed to have roused Starbuck, because one night Starbuck ran away! Willa and Ben tracked her down. Their grandma and grandpa came to help them. If you read this book, you'll find out where Starbuck was going. It was a surprise for Ben and Willa.
I really like this book. You should read it because it is a very good book and I like it.
