Are you frustrated in your efforts to succeed and create abundance in your life? Are you exasperated even though you may have set goals for yourself, gained knowledge, and worked hard? Are your financial dreams just not working out the way you’d like them to, or as fast as you’d like them to? Are you wondering what is standing in your way, preventing you from accessing the life of freedom you’ve been dreaming about?
Well, The Abundance Code is here to provide the answer you’ve been searching for…
There is a hidden yet crucial element to success and abundance that most people are unaware of—because that essential element is buried in their unconscious minds.
The Abundance Code is about how you can (and must!) rewrite your subconscious programming so that you can effortlessly achieve the rich life of abundance you deserve. Julie Ann Cairns takes you through the "7 Money Myths"—an extremely common set of subconscious barriers put up between you and your attainment of abundant wealth and freedom—and helps you banish them, so that your subconscious "code" can come into alignment with your conscious goals for financial freedom. If your underlying programming does not support your goals—and it probably doesn’t—then Julie will show you how to get out of your own way and finally access the life you have always wanted.
You can be successful, you can be wealthy, and you can make money without expending physical effort or sacrificing too much of your precious time. You can become financially free with the luxury of choice. It’s all possible for you, but conscious goals and knowledge are not enough to make this happen—you also need a set of supporting subconscious beliefs in order to ultimately prosper. If you have tried and tried to attain financial freedom but are still struggling, then this book will provide the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.
Money Myth #1: Scarcity “Money doesn’t grow on trees” Money Myth #2: Time = Money “Time is money” Money Myth #3: Work = Worth “You have to work hard for your money” Money Myth #4: It takes money to make money “The rich get richer, while the poor get poorer” Money Myth #5: Easy come, easy go “Money in, money out” Money Myth #6: Money won’t make you happy “There’s more to life than money” Money Myth #7: Money corrupts you “Money is the root of all evil”
Julie Ann Cairns applies cognitive behavior therapy to burst these myths through arguments that make you doubt the validity of these beliefs.
Furthermore, a belief-change techniques’ chapter includes: Affirmations, mind movies, vision boards, hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programing (NLP) and cognitive behavior therapy.
The author has expertise in trading so it permeates through the book.
I consider THE ABUNDANCE CODE a beginner’s book to change subconscious beliefs. Otherwise, if you already ponder that these statements are false beliefs look for other books to keep exploring the subject.
I've seen other reviews of this book with people saying things like 'Not original. Seen it all before'. Yeah? So why aren't you rich? If you already know all the answers, why haven't you applied them, then? Sorry, but I liked this book. It has stuff in a coherent order, which is easy to follow and easy to implement. I'm trying her exercises right now and they feel good. I think she's on to something.
A book that aims to answer the question "why am I not financially secure?"
Julie Ann has a background in finance and financial trading, but she discovered that she was making many mistakes when it came to making and keeping money - in her words, "subconsciously sabotaging" herself.
If someone with her experience is making mistakes you can bet we're making the same ones, and more!
In this book she goes through 7 myths that may be holding you back.
My only criticism is that this book is really for people who have money and struggle to hold onto it, or struggle to invest it successfully - one of her recommendations, on building a passive income, is to buy a house and rent it out. How many people really have the money to do that, or could even get a bank to lend them the money?
The old saying is: it takes money to make money - and if you have money that is dribbling through your fingers and you can't work out why, this book might help. If you don't have money......then you might not find this book as useful.

It started really nicely and I did get some good ideas from this book. However, I felt that it was dragging a lot talking about the same concepts all the time. Everything was leading to chapter 10, so when I finally reached to that chapter I was a bit disappointed... because I was expecting a big breakthrough that will totally change the way I view things regarding money... And I didn't get that....
Even though it was not what I expected, I still got some nice concepts that I am going to implement into my everyday life and my way of thinking. 'Money is just an idea...'
Although I've heard most of this before, I still got some really interesting fresh insights from it. Even though the myths seem really obvious, it was useful to read some reasoning that "proves" it.
I was super looking forward to the chapter where the author explains how to reprogram your subconscious and replace these beliefs. I was so disappointed when it turned out to be mainly just affirmations and vision boards. She talked about how to assess an affirmation but not all that much about how to write one. I guess I should still give these another try, but so far, I haven't found them all that effective. What a bummer.
But at least I'm more clear on exactly where the problem beliefs are. That's still helpful.
A really interesting look at the subconscious beliefs we have about money that aren't true. Going into this I was sure that my money thoughts were just fine, but now I realize I hold some pretty deep-seated beliefs that don't help me. The reason I didn't rate it higher is because I felt it could have used more examples and help with getting over and replacing the false beliefs with true ones. It basically says, "You have to figure out new beliefs for yourself," which wasn't very helpful. But the first step in moving past these false beliefs is to begin to doubt them, and this book definitely did that for me.
Occasionally, along comes a book that is a gem, something that makes you re-evaluate and think about things that have happened in your life. This one has helped me understand how our beliefs about abundance (or in this case, the lack there of) result in our lives becoming a self fulfilling prophecy of such beliefs. If you've been struggling to attain success with wealth creation even after trying so many avenues, this could just be the answer you need. All the best
The author writes about some basic myths which may have permeated our lives.
For a seasoned person like myself, I think I've pretty much freed myself from thinking that the myths she mentioned are true. If you've come to peace with yourself on how you view and handle wealth, perhaps you might want to skip this book.
I've also found it interesting how she wrote about changing one's thoughts to have a new mindset. From a psychology perspective, I think this book is worth reading.
Busting these myths will free the reader from mind traps holding themselves back. It will be really helpful to the reader to bust these myths in their lives.
It's a reasonable read and does provide some enlightening insights into the workings of the mind however one of the drawbacks to this book is its central focus on money and making money. I understand this author comes from a money-making background but abundance travels in many forms not just numbers. Abundance in health, family quality, friends. Abundance can be attached to many aspects of your life. If your just starting out on a journey of self-discovery or even if its abundance you seek, perhaps give this a miss until your further along. There are plenty of fantastic reads out there to get you started. If your on a serious journey of higher learning, then its important to understand how your mind works first, develop a healthy respect and appreciation for the skills and talents you possess right now. Only after you've unlocked the power of your mind and are armed with confidence can you start to explore the world of wealth creation. Skip those steps and it may be an uphill battle. Consider these suggestions of reading material: Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams - Mike Dooley The Untethered Soul - Michael Singer The Universe Has Your Back - Gabrielle Bernstein
Great read, with simple concepts, quite fast paced and certainly not dull or boring. The author presents seven money myths we're familiar with in western society, and helps the reader understand why they're myths and how to reframe them in a way that could be more truthful. The final chapter has some useful info on how to reprogramme our thinking around money so that we can change our mindset to a more abundant one for good.
I received a copy of The Abundance Code as a preread from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A good book describing the power of positive thinking & steps you can take to change the way you think. The set up of the chapters drove me a bit crazy (too much of "just wait until chapter 10!"), but the author does go on at one point to explain why she set up the book the way she did.
This is a well thought out, practical book that focuses first on defining common money myths and then offers suggestions on how to change these beliefs. I think almost everyone can benefit from this book.
