A planet encased in ice... the discovery of a place that shouldn't exist... a conundrum to solve.
All elements of a suspense novel combined with the bleakness of a colony struggling to survive on a planet referred to as Permafrost. KateMarie Collins keeps the reader on the edge of their seat while spinning out a tale of a struggle between reporting an almost unbelievable discovery and maintaining her silence. Will Cyan follow her lonely heart or her sensible head? The reader will have to continue to the very last word to find out.

Permafrost is a short story about a scientist named Cyan living in a frozen wasteland. For many years her team saw no end to winter, until the day she sees something that could possibly change that.

Cyan records her findings and reports them to her Commander who gives her and a colleague a short time to find out whether anything else exists before they abandon the colony.

Cyan follows a path and discovers a beautiful hidden gem.

Ms. Collins way with words will have you right there next Cyan seeing through her eyes.
