به طور کاملا اتفاقی این کتاب را امروز دیدم، یکی از دوستان گودریدزی ریویو نوشته بود درباره آن! یادش به خیر! ترم دو مهندسی مکانیک این کتاب را خواندیم، کتاب فوق‌العاده بود! از هر نظر فوق‌العاده! یک کتاب دقیق، منظم، سرراست، گویا و در یک کلام شاهکار! من آن زمان با این کتاب واقعا عاشق مهندسی مکانیک شده بودم! اگر چه محتوای کتاب و کلا درس استاتیک بسیار سخت بود، اما واقعا دوستش داشتم! و بخش مهمی از این علاقه بی تردید ریشه در کیفیت بالای این کتاب و ساختار دقیق و فوق‌العادۀ آن داشت که خواننده را واقعا سرحال می‌آورد و شوق به یادگیری را در خواننده برمی‌انگیخت! امروز که به کلی از فضایِ مهندسی دور شده‌ام و فلسفه می‌خوانم، وقتی که این کتاب و کتاب‌های فوق‌العاده‌ای همچون این کتاب را به یاد می‌آورم واقعا جای خالی این‌چنین کتاب‌های فوق‌العاده‌ای را در فلسفه احساس می‌کنم! البته طبیعتا با توجه به تفاوت بسیار زیاد علوم مهندسی و فلسفه، نمی‌توان در فلسفه نیز انتظار چنین کتاب‌های شسته-رفته و دقیق و منظمی را داشت، اما دست‌ کم می‌توان این انتظار را داشت که نویسندگان حوزه فلسفه نیز از روش کلی نگارش کتاب و ساختار کلی آن الگو بگیرند و آن را در حوزه فلسفه به تعبیری «مناسب‌سازی» کنند! البته واقعا نمی‌دانم چنین چیزی ممکن است یا نه و اساسا اگر فیلسوفی کتابی فلسفی به سبک کتاب‌های «مریام» بنویسد، نتیجه کار چه خواهد شد!!؟؟ به هر روی این کتاب را آن زمان واقعا دوست داشتم، و هنوز هم برایم خاطره‌انگیز و دوست‌داشتنی‌ست

یادش بخیر. ترم دو بودم. مکانیک با این کتاب برام شروع شد. حیف که همش سر کلاس خوابم میبرد. اگر برگردم عقب این کتاب رو با جون و دل میخونم. خیلی دوستش دارم

هذه المادة تعتبر متطلب عام لكلية الهندسة (مدني، ميكانيكي،كيميائي،بترول، كهرباء..) و يتم تدريس هذه المادة لمستجدي الكلية، اسلوب الكاتب جداً ناجح في التمهيد للدروس والأفكار والمعادلات التي سيتحدث عنها، الترتيب والصور الإيضاحية والرسوم واللغة البسيطة والكلمات والمعاني مترابطة بشكل جذاب، الكتاب فعلاً متعوب عليه ومُحكم...
لاحظت كذلك أن الكاتب ناجح في قراءة ما يدور في ذهن الطالب/القارئ واستباقه للجواب على كل سؤال محتمل قد تتسائل عنه..
الكتاب يناسب بعض الشيئ للطلاب التنظيريين ويناسب أكثر للطلاب المهتمين بالمسائل... غني جداً بالمسائل...

A truly infuriating textbook.
The explanations are verbose and confusing for the beginner.
Only every other question has an answer the although there are a LOT of problems only a select few 'sample problems' have worked solutions so if you are stuck you remain stuck.

I loooooove physics. Specially classical physics. This is a very interesting and useful book for someone who wants to learn about statics. It's wonderful how convenient it is!
I read this book because of my university studies as well... But I enjoyed every single word of this book! And I learned a lot with it!

I haven't read too many Statics books and technically this one was my first (if we ignore the statics part in Halliday, actually), but in my opinion, it had too many unnecessary details, yet not enough explanation about the other parts. I didn't get to attend my university classes on the topic and I kinda wanted to use the book as self-study, but it failed and I had to watch some youtube vids.

While this text has great questions, it's examples and the readability of the text is sub par. I hear that this is the case with his other books as well (ie Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, etc).
