REVIEW: SOUL SCORCHED Part 2 follows three different paths: Warrick and Thorn as they continue to protect Darcy from the Dark Fae: Rhi as she faces off with her Queen; and Ulrik who may not be the Dragon King everyone believes him to be-although he has regained some of his power, he is no longer the man in control. Darcy begins to suspect that something isn’t right with the Dragon King’s version of events.
Donna Grant continues to build upon the world of the Dragon King and the potential for a war with the Dark Fae. Ulrik finds himself facing a new enemy; and Warrick’s attraction to Darcy puts him in an uncomfortable position. Saying that, something was missing between Darcy and War-I did not feel the attraction; the lust; the need. I am hoping to see something more palpable in the next serial installment
I read this book and parts it was the same price but when I bottom that was all it was coming out in is like 3 to 4 chapters at a time so this is the same that I just did the reviews on the Dragon kings one bad dragon he wants to kill all mortals and their mates.
I am frustrated with books being released in parts. Often I fad in my interest between installments and that is what happened with this book. I am sure it is fantastic..............but...............I've moved on.
I really enjoyed this second part of Soul Scorched. Ulrik, although is not the main character in this book, is truly amazing in this part of the story, but he also remains a big mystery. Rhi also intrigued me a lot, as well as her past and I'm glad they had them both so ample space. Things between Warrick and Darcy get interesting, as they are forced to be together because of an attack on the forces of the Dark Fae. The attraction that binds them begins to be palpable and difficult to control, but everything is postponed until later due to the enemy. Warrick is willing to defend Darcy risking his own life, but she is unwilling to stand and watch helplessly while the Dark Fae are attacking them, she's a tough girl. I'm really in love with these Dragon Kings. Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the kind preview.
RATING: 4 stars
TITLE: Soul Scorched-part 2 AUTHOR: Donna Grant SERIES: Dark Kings # 6 PUBLISHER: St. Martin's Press

TITOLO: Soul Scorched-part 2 AUTRICE: Donna Grant SERIE: Dark Kings # 6 EDITORE: St. Martin's Press
Seriously, the world is going to Hell in an Handbasket.. Or at least Edinburgh is.
Donna Grant once again keeps us captivated in Part Two of her Soul Scorched Serial which just happens to be book 5 in her Dark Kings Series.
The Dark Fae have surrounded Darcy and Warrick, Thorn is a surprise weapon and can only be used sparingly.
Rhi is searching for answers and discovering things she's not all that happy with. Who does she serve? And who is she willing to die for? Hmmmmm
Con is being very naughty... or maybe very good.. and has a secret romance of his own, who with??? Well it's a secret.. *grins* The Kings know something's up and are beginning to wonder at Con's regular absences..
Ulrik struggles to remain top dog with the silvers.. yep there's someone else who is trying to stake his claim. Thinks he can out wit Ulrik, seriously??? Ulrik may be bad (still not 100% sure) but he's not stupid and even if he's not evil he's still the baddest silver around.
And amdist it all, all of the battles and the siege of the Dark Fae around her shop, Darcy is learning her powers and just how powerful she may be. Oh and she's falling for Warrick, that slightly awkward oh so sexy Dragon who insists on being completely honest with her (much to Thorn's disgust).
And that my friends is part 2. Have to wonder just what is coming next!

This review is based on the ARC of Soul Scorched: Part 2, provided by netgalley and is scheduled to be released on June 16, 2015
A follow on from the 1st book in the series. We get to see more of Warrick & Thorn and the druid Darcy. The Dark are coming for her and Warrick needs to keep her safe but Con has plans for her as they don't want her to help Ulrik get his powers back.
Ulrik has problems of his own he has a spy to find as he knows that information is getting back to his uncle. Ulrik needs to get his complete powers back so he still needs Darcy's help. Rhi the light fae will help keep Darcy safe as she owes him a debt. Rhi is still trying to get over her time as a prisoner to the Dark and she still grieves for her lost King.
Warrick has let his feelings get in the way of his mission. He knows that he has to stop her from going back to Skye but he fears that once he is honest with her she will not help the Kings.
There are so many players in the game as they all want to use each other. I hope that War can keep Darcy safe from the Dark as they will stop at nothing to get her. What will be the end game as there will be war between the Dark, Dragons & Druids is the Kings can't control the Dark & Ulrik. A great second part to the series. Can't wait for the next one. I received a ARC in exchange for an honest review through Netgalley.
In part 2, Warrick and Thorn are still trying to keep Darcy safe. The Dark are being sent by Ulrick’s uncle to capture her. He is proving to Ulrick who is in charge. Darcy and Warrick are trapped in her shop as the Dark surround them. They are forced to spend the night with spells keeping the Dark out. Darcy and Warrick are drawn to each other and give in to those feelings. They share a passionate kiss. Then Darcy learns the real reason Warrick and Thorn are there. As her hurt and anger grow Darcy decides she can take care of herself. She is a druid. This book continues to build the characters and the plot. I really like the direction things are going. Something else is going on with Ulrick. I don’t think he will be as bad as you think. The sparks between Darcy and Warrick are igniting. It’s fun to watch him stumble through. His fascination with humans helps with Darcy but are also coming to light for the other Kings. The author also includes a side story with Rhi. Her capture and being held hostage has changed her and it will be interesting to see what direction she goes. So far so good. I give this part a 4 out of 5.
Soul Scorched: Part 2 (Dark Kings) is part 2 of Author Donna Grant's new e-serial. We are again taken on the magical journey of Dragons, Dark Fae, Light Fae and our impressive Druid.
In this second installment we find out more about War, Darcy and Ulrik. The attraction between War and Darcy is really heating up now. STEAMY! War and Thorn are doing their best to protect Darcy from the Dark Fae that have seem to come out of no where to get their hands on her. I am intrigued by Ulrik's character and I still have not, at this point figured out if he is good or bad.
There is a fairly large set of characters to follow which can be confusing if not paying attention. At times I feel like some of its not adding up but, I am sure I will find out the more I get to read. I am looking forward to reading the next installment of this serial.
Wow! It just keeps getting better! I am dying to know what happens next! We discover something about a certain Dragon King that left me so mad at him! I about threw my kindle! I did have to stop reading for a minute to calm down!! lol! Anyways... Darcy and Warrick are growing closer. He normally keeps himself apart from others but has always been intrigued by humans. Even when he should have held hate towards them. The Dark Fae are closing in around them. They are fighting for their lives and things are looking mighty bleak. Will Darcy keep her trust in Warrick when she finds out what his original plans where concerning her. The real question is what will Warrick do to keep her safe. Who will he trust.... I really enjoy this series and the wait for Rhi's dragon king reveal.... never ends. Part two in this book was just as outstanding as the first and we get more confused again about who Rhi's dragon king is. I seem to be stuck on this mystery and the rest of the story becomes secondary after tidbits about Rhi. Warrick's job is to defend Darcy against all the dark Fae. This series is splendid when it comes to world building and drawing me in. Every time I pick up a new book in this series I am instantly transported back into the story as if I had never left. Five stars of entertainment!
Part 2 rejoins War and Darcy, and Thorn, and Rhi, adn the kings and dark fae and Ulrik and oh my.
More comes out in this part about Darcy and her abilities and why she is helping Ulrik, and why War and Thorn where sent to her. Of course we get more Rhi in this one and she's starting to stand on her own.
Dark are becoming a bigger issue as well, and we all know that isn't going to end well. We also get more from Ulrik which sort of makes us believe he's not quite the bad guy we all believed he is. He's not good but.....
In the second part of the story Warrick and Darcy share a sizzling kiss and Rhi is added to the list of Darcy's protectors as a favor to Ulrik, who rescued her from Balladyn. Rhi added her protection to Darcy's flat but what about her store? With Darcy's Druid magic and the Dragon King's magic, her shop "should" be protected from the Dark Fae and they get the chance to find out.
This story just keeps getting more interesting. I can't wait for part three.
I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed as my own.
The continuation of Darcy and Warrick's story. Amazing story line..
This was such a great read. Darcy is a Druid from the Isle of Skye and Warrick is a Dragon King sent to bring Darcy to his land. Darcy has unlocked and evil mans powers and Warrick needs to find out how she did it. Amazing story line, great romance novel and kept me reading to know how it end. Will the dragon king who wants to be alone cave to his attraction to a Druid who has captured his heart?
Another great installment. We see a different side to both Warrick and Darcy. We also see a little bit more into what's going with the characters in the background. This series has me so intrigued, I can't wait to read the next installment. I want to know who the King was that broke Rhi's heart and I want to know what Darcy's fate is.
I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Darcy is torn between a lot of people. She wants to help Ulrich but she wants to be with Warrick. Rhi stops by to put Magic on her house to stop the Dark coming in. Spoiler. She isn't in her house and her shop isn't as safe. Here comes the Dark! Spoiler. Rhi has a fight with her Queen. Not a good thing. Warrick calls her to come help but she isn't coming. Then Darcy remembers she has Magic that she can use to help Warrick and Thorne. Now to wait for the next episode!
Part 2 of Soul Scorched takes us through chapters 12 – 22. Warrick learns that the Dark fae have openly infiltrated Scotland and are brazen in their attempt to capture and kill Darcy. This portion of Donna Grant’s newest book ignites a myriad of emotions. The lines between what we believed to be good and evil are blurred. In these chapters, we are given more insight into Ulrik and Con’s past. More clues and more revelations – that had me gasping several times. On to Part 3…
I love the Dragon Kings. Warrick and Thorn are protecting Darcy, a druid who helped Ulrik get some of his powers back. It seems everyone wants to use her powers for their own purposes including the Dragons. Warrick and Darcy are growing closer but the dark haven’t given up. Everyone is facing more than just one enemy. So exciting I can’t put it down. Great read and looking forward to more!
AMAZING!!! I loved part 1 but part two was even better! It was non stop and we learned a few new details to the Dragon King war. I could not put Soul Scorched, Part 2 down and was completely swept into the story. Seeing the Dark surround Darcy's shop was very interesting and makes you wonder how they will ever survive. Cannot wait for part 3.
