REVIEW: SOUL SCORCHED Part 4 looks back at the Dark Kings series from book 1- Denae and Kellan’s mating through to book 5-Rhys and Lily’s mating: the struggles, the betrayals; the romance and the love. In each instance it appeared that Ulrik had manipulated and set into motion a series of events with the intent to destroy Con and the Dragon Kings forever.

We will be witness as Con seeks revenge against the person responsible for releasing Ulrik’s magic; and watch as Darcy realizes that everything she thought to be true, was all a lie.

SOUL SCORCHED is a revealing storyline that focuses on Con’s need for revenge, and Ulrik’s determination to get back control and the power he believes he deserves. As Con begins to mobilize the Kings in a war against the Dark Fae, Ulrik’s silver dragons begin to stir and awaken from their eons of magically induced sleep.

Donna Grant is a fantastic storyteller; her dragons are sexy, determined, charismatic and strong; the romances are compelling and hard fought; the matings are unexpected. SOUL SCORCHED continues to focus on the possibility of another war but the who and the why are not always readily apparent.

Fourth and final part of the serial publication of Soul Scorched.
There are several dramatic turn of events, although a bit at the end remains pending, with big question marks about what will be the future of the Dragon Kings.
As always was in this book, not the whole story revolves around only to Warrick and Darcy.
Ulrik surprised me in this part of the story, he left me speechless, but I'm not going to spoil the reading to others. I can say though that Ms Grant certainly did not choose the most obvious and easy root to take for her characters.
Rhi, whoI liked before, here she is somewhat eclipsed, even in times of need for Darcy and Con, who I didn't like at all before, remains relentless and unscrupulous to use any means to achieve his goals, but maybe it's easier to understand his point of view.
I'd like to recommend this book and series to the lovers of this genre.
Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the kind preview.

Book Review- Soul Searched part 4 by Donna Grant

Darcy is interrogated by Con. She knows Con thinks she is an enemy. He also believes that she helped Ulrick more than she has. In fact everyone seems to believe she is the one to blame for Ulrick’s plans which could turn into a war. She feels she is no longer safe on Dreagan.
Con believes that the best course of action is to stop Darcy from helping Ulrick more. His choice is to kill her. Not only has she helped Ulrick but she reversed the spell that kept the Kings from falling in love. Con’s hatred runs deep for Darcy.
Warrick realizes Con’s plans and knows he has to get Darcy out of Dreagan. He has to sneak her out. Darcy has already taken Ulrick on his offer to help yet again. He can get her out of Dreagan quietly. Warrick agrees to let Ulrick help. He realizes what she is to him and wants her safe.
Of course nothing goes as planned and betrayals come to light as Darcy’s life hangs in the balance with dragon magic playing a big part.
In part 4, the final one, the story of Warrick and Darcy comes together. They realize what they are to each other. Of course these feelings arrive a bit too late until a change of heart saves the day. Then Darcy realizes she has been used. Someone she trusted finished what she herself started. The reader believes what Darcy does. I was surprised to learn the truth. Then Ulrick becomes the dragon everyone has warned about the whole book. I can’t decide how I feel about him. It leaves me with too many questions. Something else is going on the reader is not aware of yet so I wonder if this is a big elaborate scheme that Ulrick has put into play manipulating everyone as it unfolds.
The book left me with many questions and the author did a great job of continuing the story. I’m now intrigued and want to see what happens next. I give this part a 4 out of 5.

WOW!!!

I don't even know how to write this review! There is so much going on in Part Four of the Soul Scorched Serial that I am at a loss. What can I say and what would be spoilers???

So, I will say this was THE BEST part 4 in ANY of Donna Grant's books. Once it becomes the entire Soul Scorched Book, it might just be the BEST of the Dark Kings Series.. I won't say it is the best because there is more to come. I will say it could be the best so far! And we all know that is saying a lot!!

There are betrayals galore. I will say that.. and those making the betrayals are a total surprise.

Darcy has been making choices based on erroneous facts and the Kings? Well they don't get the facts either.

Things look like they might be starting to make sense and then Donna tilts the playing board. I am back to not having a clue as to who is good and who is bad. Well the Dark are bad, aren't they?

This was one of those man how can this book be over books... Totally delightful!!

I don't want to wait until November for the next Dragon King Book... Good think Donna has a 1001 Dark Nights book out in August. But that's too long to wait as well..

Just a great ending to this fabulous book.

As the story moved along I fell even more in love with the Dragon Kings. Can War keep Darcy save from the Dark and will she be safe from Con.
Darcy knows that she needs to trust War and the others but she doesn't know them. Ulrik still wants Darcy but I am not sure why anymore. Rhi is so lost and I fear that the Darkness will consume her soon. There are so many players at the moment it is hard to know who to trust. War cares for Darcy but he doesn't want a mate but he will need to make up his mind or he could lose her for good.
What is Ulrik's end game I know that he wants revenge on Con and the other dragon kings but there is something else going on. His uncle is going to be a problem let's wait and see what happens. I thought that Ulrik had some good still left but after what he did I would say no.
I have so many questions, who is the stranger that Rhi sees at the club? Where did V go? What is Con's game as he is willing to go against all of the kings to kill Ulrik. Can't wait for the next series as the ending sucked. Donna you are a wicked lady but I know that it will be worth the wait. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley.

Soul Scorched Part 4 covers chapters 34 through 43. I’m still in a state of shock. Donna Grant has a unique writing style, offering the reader a glimpse into a character’s point of view, while seamlessly transferring and giving another character’s point of view. Her writing is so detailed yet never confusing. She gives us answers to some of the secrets, yet you can never guess in what the direction her stories will go. Too many times, I read stories that although they are awesome reads, are also predictable as to the way they will end. With Donna’s books, I can anticipate a HEA of sorts, but beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess. This series keeps getting better and better and I find myself having all sorts of theories on the many questions she presents us with. She has created a paranormal world that seems real and believable. I want a Dragon King of my very own! I give Soul Scorched a burning hot 5 stars!

WOW! I am speechless! Just when you think you got it figured out Donna throws us for a loop! Everything we think we know of the Dragon Kings is changing.
Darcy doesn’t know who to trust. All the people at Dreagan look at her as the enemy. Now realizing how evil Ulrik has been she doesn’t blame them. She helped release a terrible evil on the world. Warrick seems to see her differently. When they are together he makes her forget but she is unsure of how they can be more when all his friends look at her with distrust.
Warrick is torn. He has never wanted a mate. Until Darcy. He doesn’t care what she did in the past, he knows she is not in league with their enemies. As more trouble brews, Warrick will have to do something he never dreamed he’d have to do. Protect her from one of their own. He may be too late to save her.

Soul Scorched: Part 4 by Donna Grant was good but, not as good at #3. I still loved it though. I just want more. I think it ended with so many things left open. There is a bit more drama and some things that are revealed are a bit surprising.

War is my fave and I think he always will be. There is just something about this Dragon King that speaks to me. And Darcy, love, love her.

I think Ms. Grant has a new fan in me and I personally cannot wait to read more books by her. In the end I just wanted MORE of everyone and everything. But to me that is a sign of a good series. I recommend this series to para/fantasy lovers.

Donna has given us a good ending with lots of wiggle room for another book. She left us with many ways to take a future story. I can't wait. Warrick has gotten Darcy to Dreagan where she will be safe. Spoiler. Con has questioned her over and over until Warrick takes her away. He realizes she can't stay here so he and Thorne take her away. Major Spoiler. Ulrich is there and offers to get her away. Major Spoiler. Warrick has finally decided that loving Darcy means he now wants to claim his mate. I wish I had this getting back together deal.Happy Spoiler. Please don't pass this whole story thing away. I hope you enjoy reading this story! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.

Soul Scorched is officially my favorite Dragon King book, thus far. It was action packed, an emotional roller coaster and included a new Druid. The fact that the Warriors and Druids showed up again was an amazing bonus! Darcy and Warrick were amazing together and their connection was instant with a ton of heat. I was completely swept away into all four parts of Soul Scorched and was unable to let my ereader leave my hands, until I was finished each part. I am really looking forward to where all of the new information and new characters will lead us. We learned a lot of new details in this book and I cannot wait to see how everything unfolds. Thank you Donna for another amazing book!

I wanted to mark this five stars but I felt a little bit let down. The story was building and building but then it sorta just ended. I mean it was good but I think I wanted more, but then again I always want more. The truth about Ulrik comes out, Con has to make a decision, and War well he's hit hard with some realities of life.

And we find out that there is a missing Dragon.........Rhi is still struggling with her life decisions and of course there is always more drama. I just love this series.

The story finds its conclusion with Darcy and Warrick and their conflicts.. Amazing, well written and can't wait to read more from this author...

Dragon King sent to bring Darcy to his land. Darcy has unlocked and evil mans powers and Warrick needs to find out how she did it. Amazing story line, great romance novel and kept me reading to know how it end. Will the dragon king who wants to be alone cave to his attraction to a Druid who has captured his heart?

Wow, the ending was a stunner! Everything you think you know going into this book will change by the final chapter. Warrick and Darcy get their tale... and what a tale it is. This final part makes me want the next book badly! Outstanding series and kudos to the author for a great finale. Five stars!

Great conclusion to this series. It's amazing what true love can do and make you realize about yourself. Darcy and Warrick both fought against their feelings but were unsuccessful. We learned a lot more about Ulrik and Con in this one. We are getting more pieces in the puzzle and I can't wait to get more.

I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
