What an awesome collection of authors in this anthology. And who doesn't love sexy Irish themed novellas. Some of the stories didn't hold my attention as well as others but they were all great stories. If you are looking for sexy talking Irishmen then this anthology is for you. So sit back and enjoy the ride and Get Lucky with this anthology. **Copy provided by one of the authors in exchange for my honest review**
As most people who know me know when I read and write reviews for anthologies I like to do them a little differently than everyone else and write something about each story in the book some I liked, others I loved, and then one I kinda was eh about.
Walking the Line by Nicola Marsh: Finn has that certain sex appeal going on, "I looked him up and down, wishing I hadn't. Lean legs, zero abdominal body fat, decent pecs and biceps a girl could grip onto while riding him all night long., That observation was so not helping." Finn he's a honest boy and isn't bashful about what he wants, "I want you. Naked and hot and panting for me." His sense of humor is borderline perverted, "I pointed at my groin. "you seem to enjoy the benefits of my toy just fine." I liked this book at times the age difference I wouldn't say ticked me off well that's not true every time Finn's woman brought it up she upset me, but I'm not used to reading books where the woman is older then her man it's generally the other way around. Amazed by You by Kelsey Browning: This was one of the ones I LOVED out of this boxset. Cody he was a doll and his thoughts were entertaining and not innocent, "she stepped closer. "Cody, about the arbor?" Eff the arbor. The only thing on his mind right now was kissing this woman mindless." His compliments are unusual but still effective, especially when it's the way his woman smells, "you do realize it was years before I could smell oranges without getting a boner, right?" There was a statue scene and that made this story for me it was the highlight I think, "kinda wondering if she-" he lifted his chin toward the statue "-would be embarrassed if I hoisted you up on her lap and effed you silly." This was a cute second chance romance. One Little Kiss by Robin Covington: This was the other story that I loved in this boxset, I wanted more I didn't want it to end. Jonas he's very blunt, "I want to kiss you again and smudge all your lipstick. I want to see it ring my c*** when you suck me off and I want it to stain my skin and the sheets as I drown myself in you." As I said I wanted more of this story I wasn't happy when it ended. Big, Bad Red by Avery Flynn: Liam he goes with his emotions, "with her soft lips on his, all the blood drained from Liam's brain straight to his c***." He's protective and wants to give anyone a a**-kicking that hurts his woman, "who?" He needed the name as much as he needed oxygen because that person was going to pay. Dearly." This was alright it ended in a cliffhanger wasn't expecting that. Luck of the Irish by Sara Humphreys: This one I sort of wanted more I wanted to know what happens next, Maggie that girl is something else, "that's it? You come flying out of my mirror, accuse me of coming to kill you and then get, shall we say personal with me in my bed and end of story?" This storyline intrigued me and it was about a damn leprechaun to boot I'm not used to leprechaun stories I want more. Something Borrowed by Kimberly Kincaid: I love Kimberly's stories I do but this one didn't really get my blood going as her others do. I mean Sully he's cute and asks questions to make sure he understands what his girl is coming from, "the shock kicking through Sully's pulse turned quickly to desire. "Are you asking me if I want to have sex with you for the next three days?"
Get Lucky is one heck of a collection. It consists of SIX different stories, each by a different author. I love collections like this one, because it allows me to sample different authors and read a handful of stories for one low price. Get Lucky is a must read anthology. I’m serious…go grab a copy then thank me later. Usually with a collection like this, I can single out my favorite story pretty easily, but I can’t seem to choose my favorite. Each of the six stories were amazing reads and if I had to choose my favorite, I would say it’s a tie between Walking the Line, Amazed by You, One Little Kiss, Big Bad Red, Luck of the Irish, & Something Borrowed. Yes…I know I didn’t actually pick a favorite, but I’m serious when I said I couldn’t. Grab this anthology and read until your heart’s content.
This collection of steamy novellas delivered just what I was hoping for - a variety of story plots all centred around an Irish theme but as varied as the author involved. Each one has its fair share of sexy scenes and engaging characters. The following are short reviews for each of the stories in the collection.
Nicola Marsh - Walking the Line This story features an older heroine as Ellie reluctantly hires Irish traveller Finn to work in her bar. I liked Ellie's character as a feisty, take charge woman who isn't afraid to stand up for herself, but at the same time was willing to give Finn a chance to work his Irish charm on her. I liked Finn's strength of character and charisma and his willingness to look beyond Ellie's tough girl facade and see the vulnerability underneath and want to protect it. There's also a good introduction to Kye, Ellie's friend who features in another story by Nicola called Crossing the Line.
Kelsey Browning - Amazed by You This reunited lovers story tells of high school sweethearts Olivia and Cody, whose teenage relationship ended abruptly when Olivia left town, leaving Cody behind. Now she's relying on him and his landscaping company to make or break her career. Olivia comes across as a very detail oriented and organized woman, down to every aspect of her life with no time for men. But Cody still owns a piece of her heart and I really enjoyed the way she had to finally admit that to herself (and Cody was a real sweetheart too). There were some sexy love scenes between them and the plot setup was really unique.
Robin Covington - One Little Kiss This friends to lovers story was a real winner for me - there was a lot of emotion in this story as Leighton and Jonas both have to deal with illness past and present and get to the point where they realize that being together is what is important. I thought the sexual attraction between them was very believable and heightened the tension of their steamy love scenes together.
Avery Flynn - Big, Bad Red What a fun paranormal story! Mixing up fairy tales with real life, it's the story of Red and her new werewolf Liam in a battle of wits and supremacy as they both want the sword that means a lot to them both - for Red a big payoff and for Liam the chance to break an age old curse in his family. Super sexy scenes between them and a totally unique storyline made for a delightful read.
Sara Humphreys - Luck of the Irish Another paranormal treat - this one had a mix of old and new as Maggie and Declan cross timelines to end up together in search of Declan's missing daughter. I loved the idea of a mirror for transport across times and there is definitely some heat between them. It's a prequel to what looks to be an intriguing series.
Kimberly Kincaid - Something Borrowed Station partners in culinary school, Sully agrees to be Sasha's date for her brother's wedding in Ireland. A date in name only though suddenly turns into so much more as they have to admit that there is something real between them. I enjoyed the banter between the two of them. The sexy times were heated and intense. This story had a fair amount of emotion too as Sasha starts to figure out that having Sully as a lover doesn't have to end when they get back home, if she can only get past her own feelings of not measuring up. Sweet and sexy story!
Note: a copy of this collection was provided by one of the authors for review.
A nice boxed set with some of my favorite authors. Each book has a little Irish magic.
Walking the Line ~ In this one you have a heroine Elle who is cynical about love, but then Finn is thrown into her life and soon he gets under her skin. Can he convince her age is just a number and love is something worth having.
Amazed by You ~ Fist off Cody definitely surprised me because he ended up being one hot hero. Olivia is trying to make an impression to get a job promotion, but she has to throw the best St. Patrick's party of her life. she needs the help of her old high school boyfriend. She soon remembers the chemistry they once had. The pressure of the promotion and the lure of Cody have Olivia in knots. Can she have both or will she have to choose?
One Little Kiss ~ The heat level is high on this one. Leighton and Jonas are both heading to the next adventure in their lives just not together, but mother nature has other plans. With a storm snowing them in now they have the opportunity to grasp the chance of a HEA. Problem Jonas doesn't want to hold her back because of what he soon will be going through. Can Leighton convince him that life would one big adventure if they did it together. I really felt for Jonas for what's in store for him.
Big, Bad Red ~ Loved this one with the paranormal flare. The chemistry between Red and Liam is off the charts hot. I wasn't a fan of Red right off the bat, but once the story got going I liked her. I definitely liked Liam the werewolf. He had that alpha attitude. Family curses, double crosses, a magic sword, true love spell make this one intriguing story.
Luck of the Irish ~ This was my favorite story out the boxed set. I was a little sad that it ended on little bit of a cliff hanger. I want to know what happens next. I don't know if I can patiently wait. This definitely gives you a new view on what leprechauns look like. Declan is one hunky leprechaun. I could hear the accent in my head while reading. I liked Maggie. She is looking to had some fun into her life she finally gets it. She finds out the stories she was told by her aunt when she was young are true.
Something Borrowed ~ This was a nice fun, on the hot side read. I want to find a Sully. A man who cooks and is yummy as him. He figures he will be Sasha's wingman to her bother's wedding to put a plan into motion of convincing her to take a chance on them. Sasha doesn't do relationships, but the more time she spends with Sully sparks fly and she starts rethinking her stance. Can Sully get her past the friend zone? He has a lot of work ahead of him, but to him she's worth it.
Six sexy stories by six different authors all writing with the theme of Ireland or the Irish somewhere in the mix. This collection includes a bit of everything for someone looking for a fun steamy read.
In “Walking the Line” Nicola Marsh tells the story of Ellie and Finn who find a connection in Australia in spite of a significant age difference.
In “Amazed by You” Kelsey Brown tells the story of two high school sweethearts that have not seen each other for many years but serendipitously find themselves working together to accomplish the impossible in one week while also trying to keep from reigniting their past passion.
In “One Little Kiss” Robin Covington provides a YA romance that begins with two talented college seniors heading out on separate spring break holidays but who find themselves trapped together due to a snowstorm. During their time together much is discussed and decisions about their future are made.
In “Big, Bad Red” Avery Flynn constructs a world in which fairy tale names appear everywhere in a place that is not just around the corner from where you or I live. Magic, magical creatures, werewolves, lost artifacts, curses, fairies, good and bad all appear in this section of the book.
In “Luck of the Irish” Sara Humphreys has created a story of two souls that come together through magic. Maggie is a contemporary woman who has been told all of her life about a mythical mirror that holds a cursed Fae-Leprechaun. Will Maggie be able to find the mirror, undo the curse and find true love?
In “Something Borrowed” Kimberly Kincaid decides to send a dysfunctional family to a destination wedding in Ireland. Sasha’s culinary school classmate, Sully, offers to be her “date” for the event. The agreement is that they will go as “friends only” but will they manage to stick to the agreement?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every one of the novellas and novels provided in this compilation. I liked the diversity of the writing, storylines, characters and the Irish thread that ties them all together.
What a fun collection of stories! Each one is completely different, but HOT!
Walking the Line - This was the hardest story for me to get in to, but by the end of the novella I was completely satisfied with the story. I also immediately bought Kye’s story after I finished this Novella.
Amazed By You - The lost love book with sweet Cody and Olivia. I certainly wouldn’t complain if he wanted to work shirtless in my garden!
One Little Kiss - I fell in love with Jonas and wanted to cheer on Leighton. What a perfect couple! I wish this one had an epilogue because I wanted to check in with them in 40 years and find out how perfect their lives end up.
Big, Bad Red - Oh Liam. What every werewolf should be! Red was strong and soft in the way a real woman should be. This story was really fun, and I hope Avery Flynn writes more stories based in this world!
Luck of the Irish - This was my favorite, and least favorite novella. I’ll be honest that I wish I hadn’t read it YET, because it’s a cliffhanger, and Im dying to know what happens next. It was soooooo good.
Something Borrowed - James Sullivan is my new book boyfriend. Hot, sweet, and he can cook! Sasha has a nightmarish parents, and Sully volunteers himself to be her buffer. Great story!
This was a FANTASTIC anthology. Usually there is at least one story in an anthology of this size that doesn't really connect with me. I can honestly say that is not the case with this group. I loved each story, whether it was romance or paranormal, or a little of each. I cannot say enough great things about these authors and these books. Run out and buy this one!
I really enjoyed this set and now found even another author to read. This group of gals did a great job! I am not very good at writing these reviews but I try do my best . I think this is a very fun sometimes very sexy read I loved it all :D and will for sure be reading more by all these wonderful writers
What a line up of great lady authors! Everyone one of these stories are a must read. They are all filled with hot guys and beautiful women. Stories of love, heartbreak and second chances. Everyone single one of them was hard to put down till I finished them. You will so enjoy them all.
This has to be the best box set ever! Every story is great!
I reviewed all the books in the order they appear in the box set.
Nicola Marsh - Walking the Line Nicola Marsh was a new author to me, but not anymore! I loved it! Finn Ahearn, from Cork, is in Sydney Australia on his way to Melbourne for a job. He’s been plagued by problems of all sorts and he’s been in Sydney for only 2 days when he is rescued by Aussie Kye Sheldon and subsequently introduced to Ellie, a bar owner. She is 10 years his senior but Finn is totally smitten, and even though Ellie doesn’t want to, the young Irishman is rather irresistible. How well Ms. Marsh understands the charm of the Irish! WALKING THE LINE is a short story and yet complete, with stellar character development, great writing, and the chemistry between Ellie and Finn is sizzling and totally believable! A fantastic read that starts this box set in style! Count me a fan now! Super, Ms. Marsh!
Kelsey Browning - Amazed by You Olivia McLaughlin is the executive assistant for a famous erotic romance writer, S.L. Tanner, who is also slightly agoraphobic. They have decided to host a garden party for readers. As Ms. Tanner’s gardens are as untended to as a jungle, they need a landscaper. It turns out Cody Kavanaugh, who was Olivia’s high school sweetheart will be taking care of the landscaping. They had more or less lost touch with each other, as Olivia went to the big city but Cody remained in the small town where they grew up. But they cannot help the attraction that never went away. AMAZED BY YOU is a sweet and very spicy story with great characters; Cody is a lovely and charming man; real book boyfriend material! And he and Olivia make a great couple. AMAZED BY YOU is very well written, fast-paced, very sexy and a lot of fun! And I so loved S.L. Tanner – Sadie Leigh – I would like to see a novella where she’s featured!
Robin Covington - One Little Kiss It’s three days before St-Patrick’s Day, Leighton Greer’s college graduation is in less than 3 months, and she’s on her way to Dublin for a Music Festival when her flight is cancelled because of a snow storm. All the hotels are booked, of course, but who should she meet but Jonas Sutton, her brother’s roommate and best friend. He’s always had a crush on her, and when he sees her stranded, he offers her to share his room; she has no choice, and she knows it could spell trouble of the sexy sort. And good for us! Phew! ONE LITTLE KISS is so sexy, it could melt your ereader! But it’s not all though, it’s a very emotional story because of the characters’ backgrounds. It’s also very passionate in several ways. Ms. Covington has written a short but complete story, that will have you in tears as well. Awesome!
Avery Flynn - Big, Bad Red Granny’s Pub, in Dublin New York. Werewolf Liam MacTire has a problem he thinks the owner of Granny’s Pub will be able to solve. Red is the owner’s name. And I’m not even going to say anymore because BIG, BAD RED is just too much fun. This is Avery Flynn’s sexy, paranormal twist on fairytales, and it is hilarious, fast-paced, great characters, amazing dialogues, it’s clever, witty, ingenious. Avery Flynn gone wilder than ever! Totally over the top and totally fantastic! More please!!!
Sara Humphreys - Luck of the Irish Ireland, 1800. Declan Aherne, is a Leprechaun fae, and when his wife died in childbirth, he left his newborn daughter with the fae to keep her safe from his wife’s family. His late wife’s father had cursed him, but it took 200 years before Declan was free again. Sara Humphreys has penned a real Irish tale! LUCK OF THE IRISH is a beautifully written wonderful, magical tale. The lead characters are superb, the story is captivating; it’s absolutely fabulous! However, it ends in a cliffhanger, but I can’t wait for the rest!
Kimberly Kincaid - Something Borrowed Sasha Arrington’s twin brother Jace is getting married near Dublin, Ireland. Although she’s happy for him, Sasha is cynical about happy-ever-afters; she’s never been lucky in love. Sasha is something of an eternal student, her recent foray being culinary school. James Sullivan – Sully – is Sasha’s station partner at their school, and he’s had a crush on her from the beginning, 7 months ago. Sasha considers him a best friend, so when she needs a date for her brother’s wedding, she asks Sully, who is very happy to comply but does he have a hidden agenda… SOMETHING BORROWED is a great romance! It’s young, fresh, the characters feel genuine, and I positively loved Sully! It’s so nice for once to have a hero who is a nice guy! While Sasha is jaded, Sully is ever the optimist, and they make a great pair. SOMETHING BORROWED is beautifully written, flows smoothly, it has snappy dialogue and great characters, among other the leads and Sasha’s parents. And best of all, there is not a cliché is sight! It’s poetic, lovely; it’s exactly the kind of romance I like!
I loved this set of Irish themed stories full of sexy men, strong women, passion and magic.

Get Lucky is an eclectic set of six different romances with the common theme of something or someone Irish. This set has a bit of everything from new adult to paranormal. I like to think everyone has a wee bit of Irish in them at this time of year. Walking the Line by Nicola Marsh is set in Australia. The Irish in this book is Finn. Finn is from Ireland just coming to Australia on a work visa. He is fresh off the boat. His luck is not Irish. He loses his money and his pride. He is rescued by a patron of a local bar. The patron convinces Ellie the owner of the bar Ellie to hire Finn to help him get back on his feet. Finn is attracted to Ellie. She is a decade older than Finn. Amazed by You by Kelsey Browning is set around St. Patrick’s Day. Olivia McLaughlin is an assistant to a reclusive author. To prove her worth, she must throw a successful party for her author on St. Patrick’s Day. The landscaper she hires to help her pull off this event is her old boyfriend Cody. Can Olivia and Cody make the party a success and also rekindle their romance. One Little Kiss by Robin Covington is also set around St. Patrick’s Day. Leighton is a musician going to the Celtic Music Festival in Dublin who just get dumped by her boyfriend and stuck at the airport because of a snowstorm. Her brother sends Jonas to rescue her. The problem Leighton and Jonas are very attracted to each other. They had a one night stand. They both have reasons for staying away from each other. The storm forces them together for another night. Can they get over the things preventing them from getting together? Big, Bad Red by Avery Finn is set in an Irish Pub in New York. This is a different take on the little red riding hood fairy tale. The wolf is a werewolf named Liam MacTire. Red is the bar owner who runs a fencing operation on the side. She fences things like magic carpets, glass slipper and a special sword. Liam needs to find a special sword or he will forever by a wolf. Will a love spell be broken or come true in real life? Luck of the Irish by Sara Humphreys is about a leprechaun fae who is banished into a magic mirror. Declan is banished to the mirrored realm because he fell in love and married a witch. A century later, Maggie finds the mirror and remembers an old story told by her aunt about a man stuck in a mirror. She releases Declan on the modern world. So then their adventure begins … Something Borrowed by Kimberly Kincaid is set in Ireland. Sasha needs a date to her brother’s wedding in Ireland. James volunteers to be her date. He hopes to use their time together to get out of the friend zone. Sasha has issues with love and marriage because of her parents. Can James get out of the friend zone and get Sasha to stop running from love?
An amazing compilation of stories from six of the best romance writers around. Any one of these stories make the book worth the purchase price. To get all six - Bonus!! With a great mixture of genre and H/h types this book has something for everyone!
Walking the Line - Nicola Marsh Finn is young and eager to start his new life in Australia. When he meets the older but utterly sexy Ellie he knows she's the one and all his plans fly out the window. The chemistry between the two is amazing. Great read
Amazed by You - Kelsey Browning Olivia is a high strung perfectionist, Cody is a laid back realist. They shouldn't work but together they are sizzling and perfect! Loved it!
One Little Kiss - Robin Covington There is a whole lot of goodness packed into this little story! Leighton is finally taking control of her life and living it on her terms. She's off on her first big adventure when she gets stranded by a snowstorm. Jonah is trying to take in as many sights as possible before his life changes forever. When he is stranded by the same storm it may be the best thing to ever happen to either of them! I absolutely loved this story!!
Big Bad Red - Avery Flynn Granny's is a lively pub in Dublin, NY but the real business is done in the back room. Red owns and runs the pub but her real deal is fencing items from the other world. When Liam MacTire shows up looking for the one thing that can save him from a tormented future will Red give him what he so desperately needs? And what is he willing to give to get it? Great Paranormal read.
Luck of the Irish - Sara Humphreys Declan Aherne has lost the love of his life, so when he is banished to the Mirror realm he has plenty of time to mourn his loss. When a beautiful woman shows up on the other side wearing a familiar amulet, Declan knows it is time for a change! Another great paranormal.
Something Borrowed - Kimberly Kincaid Sasha Arrington has kept James Sullivan in the friend zone for way to long. When Sasha needs James to stand in as a pretend boyfriend and attend her brothers wedding he plans to show her how good it could be between them if she'd only give hime a chance. Fantastic story!!
I love anthologies. They tend to be an uneven read with some really great stories and a few that are ...well, not so much, but it’s a rare anthology that doesn’t produce at least one pleasant surprise and a new author to add to my “must read” list. With Get Lucky I knew I was looking at a safe bet. I already knew three of the six authors and I knew they consistently produce really great stories so there would definitely be something there I liked. Having said that, I confess that I was blown away by the consistent high quality of this collection. There’s not a weak moment or a weak author in the entire collection. I loved every story in the book and was amazed at the variations on the Irish luck theme that ran through the whole collection. Kimberly Kincaid, Avery Flynn and Robin Covington produced exactly the kind of hot, sweet and often funny stories I’ve come to expect from them but the stories from Nicola Marsh, Kelsey Browning and Sara Humphreys, all new to me, were every bit as good and Get Lucky has added three new writers to that aforementioned “must read” list. So what can you expect from Get Lucky? Well, it’s kind of a no brainer that you’re going to find an few Irish bars and the occasional pint of Guinness, but there are also co-eds, cooks, an erotic romance writer, a magic sword, a leprechaun, a hot pink dragon, a romance writers convention and more than a few buxom wenches and a whole lot of drool-worthy men. There’s plenty of hot sex, tender moments, and a generous share of smiles and laughter all with an Irish twist that’s perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day release. If you’re already familiar with these six authors, you can look forward to more of the superbly crafted, sexy fun you’ve come to expect. To those of you who’ve never read any of the six, I envy you. I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll come out of this book with at least one, and probably several new go-to writers. Either way, go ahead and Get Lucky.
Review: GET LUCKY (Six Sexy Romances with an Irish Twist) by: Nicola Marsh, Kelsey Browning, Avery Flynn, Robin Covington, Sara Humphreys and Kimberly Kincaid http://wp.me/p3d0RZ-2br Publication Date: March 16, 2015 Rated 4.5 Stars
REVIEW: I really enjoyed this anthology. It had it all from contemporary to paranormal romance with everything in between. WALKING THE LINE was all about taking chances on life and love. It is a nice hot little romance. AMAZED BY YOU is a hot little number about finding that love is what makes life worth living and that sometimes you get a second chance. ONE LITTLE KISS tugged at my heart strings with its heartfelt story that blended well with the sexy romance. BIG BAD RED is a quirky paranormal romance and was a sexy fun read. LUCK OF THE IRISH is a hot story about a leprechaun of all things and I loved it. I think I’ll go look for my own mirror now. SOMETHING BORROWED is an all-around feel-good romance that made me smile over and over. A great way to end this anthology! The length of each story was perfect. I would read and then do a little housework before reading the next one. I loved it!

This was a wonderful anthology. The characters really spoke to me. Each story brought out different emotions for me. From laughter to tears, I could not put this down until I had finished them all. The romance was hot. Nicola Marsh's Aussie tale kept me cheering for Finn. Kelsey Browning's Liv and Cody planted themselves in my heart. Who hasn't thought of seeing their first love again? Robin Covington's Leighton and Jonas made me cry, then cheer and cry again. Avery Flynn's Red and Liam are not your mama's fairy tale! This sexy tale of a hot as sin werewolf and the Fiesty Red was a great paranormal read. Sara Humphrey's leprechaun Declan made me want to start hunting for mirrors. There are better things than a pot of gold ladies! Kimberly Kincaid's James and Sasha moved me.There is always that person you dream of moving out of the friend zone. So, grab a bottle of Jameson and curl up with this anthology. Don't forget your Granny O'Connell's handkerchief because you're going to need it.
Get Lucky is a compilation of 6 romances with an Irish twist from 6 wonderful authors. I think there was a story in here for each romance lover. Stories range from the simple contemporary romance to a complex story with Leprechauns and realm travel. All of the books are complete stories by these authors, but Luck of the Irish by Sara Humphreys has a cliffhanger attached to it. Each story in this book was good and I'm glad I was able to get an advanced copy to read. I definitely recommend this book and give it 4 stars. Can't wait to read more from these six wonderful women.
Get Lucky is an Anthology written by six authors and the stories are as different in the Romance Genre as the authors themselves. All based with an Irish theme, the books range from sexy sweet to sensual, paranormal to contemporary. As a reader I want to read books that have angst, or a second chance and always an HEA. You will find a book in this anthology to satisfy every romance reader's needs.
Authors Nicola Marsh, Kelsey Browning, Robin Covington, Avery Flynn, Sara Humphreys & Kimberly Kincaid give us six short stories. From paranormal, to contemporary, to a bit of fantasy…there’s a little something for everyone. (My only complaint is that they’re not long enough!)
If you’re a fan of the Irish or love Ireland, I think you’ll enjoy these entertaining stories. I know I did!
I was given a copy by the authors in exchange for an honest review.
No two stories or authors are alike. This is a great compilation of 6 short stories from six fun authors that center around the Irish/Ireland! Some made me laugh, some made me cry (Robin...grrr...) and some had a mystical touch to them!
Read them all at once, or read each on different days, but these are definitely worth reading!
Enjoy!

This book has been teasing us for a while but the ladies who contributed to this fabulous anthology have finally released it! And yes it's all their fault.. *grins* but seriously, today is release day and if you haven't purchased it yet... well let's just say I suggest that you do!
Nicola Marsh - Walking the Line
Ellie and Finn are something of a "reverse" romance. Ellie is 10 years older and very jaded while Finn has something of the youthful naivete about him. Nicola Marsh writes two strong characters that have to overcome not just their own fears but in a way each others.
Although Finn is the younger, more naive character he is still the stronger of the two. Something we often see in the traditional romance. Even if it's not always recognized. Innocence has it's own type of strength. Often in romance as in real life, the person who is more worldly, more street smart and the more jaded is the most afraid to take a chance and hides behind a hardened shell. So when I say Ms. Marsh did a role reversal, I will say she did a total and complete job of it.
This was an endearing story with two very likable characters and a great secondary character that holds your attention. Ms. Marsh didn't over do this with an abundance of unnecessary characters and a complicated plot line. Nope, just two people who find each other and find a way to fall in love.
In general this story was excellent.. The only thing I personally didn't like about it? It was written in 1st person. And not just 1st person but alternating 1st person. Since I am not a fan of that particular style of writing I found it distracting. Which is sad because other than that? This was a really good story.
Kelsey Browning - Amazed by You
When you are eighteen you honestly think you can conquer the world. Some want to do it by getting married and raising a family and some, well they want to go out and make a difference, somehow, in the world. When it's highschool sweethearts one, if not both, are bound to get a broken heart.
So what happens when your highschool sweetheart shows up as the landscaper for the biggest job of your life? In Olivia and Cody's case, they fall once again.
I really liked Ms. Browning's story about Olivia and Cody, it touched the what if buttons that I know we all have. A well written story about two people that love each other, that have always loved each other, just didn't know how to love each other.. Finding connections and common grown was important and of course compromise but real love, that is just too important to pass up.
Of course there was the prerequisite jerkface that I just wanted to shove off the page and the rather flawed author/boss who understands words on a page but just can't deal with reality. These two secondary characters added flavor and angst to what could just be a perfect short story.
Robin Covington - One Little Kiss
Life isn't easy, it isn't always fun and face it, it isn't easy. It's filled with twists and turns and dark moments. But it's also filled with light, laughter and possibilities and it's what we do with those possibilities that makes the darkness easier to get through..
Robin Covington writes a sweet little story about two individuals who get it. The harsh moments can't rule your world. Leighton is a leukemia survivor and Jonas has recently been diagnosed with a genetic eye disease, he will go blind, eventually.
Add together that these two have been refusing to fall in love for almost four years and when finally they take a chance, all they promise themselves is a one night stand. But now? Now they are both trapped in an airport waiting for the storm to clear. They have one night to decide on a future.. and it all begins with one kiss.
This was a charming story. I enjoy when an author allows for a connected past, especially in short stories. It makes them easier for me to accept. These two have history.. shoot they have HISTORY.. and the chemistry.. well it sizzles.
What I didn't like? Yeah, it's that first person thing again. I know, I tend to harp on this but I don't enjoy it. That doesn't mean others won't so I try and just make my feelings heard and not let it affect the story for others. I will say, Ms. Covington did the switching first person thing as well but I found it less distracting than many I have read. I can't say I enjoyed it but I did manage to slip into the story itself and sometimes even get lost, in-spite of the switching PoV's.
Avery Flynn - Big, Bad Red
OOOOO This one was fun.. A wicked take on little red riding hood and the big bad wolf.. Seems Red is a fence and the big bad wolf? Well he's the true Prince Charming... A stolen sword that holds the curse to an entire race, a people's last hope and really last non furry member...
So far this was the best one, a play on the wicked, the wonderful and the wise. Liam MacTire is truly the last of his kind, well sort of. A Spell turned curse converts his family from Werewolf, to wolf at the age of 25, no options, no choice. But there are a few loopholes, just like a student loan, you can defer it, ONCE, for seven years. Liam is at the end of his seven years and must grab the Caladbolg sword, with that, a reversal can be attempted, maybe even succeed. But the best fence in the magical world has it..
Red is what we call a single minded woman with no trust for anyone but Granny so when a wolf comes in trying to buy the Caladbolg sword she figures, he wants it.. she wants to make a huge profit.. but she has no clue just what that darned sword is going to get her into..
This was fun and more than a little quirky. It also sizzles with passion and dreams. Complete fantasy and true romance.
Great job Ms. Flynn!
Sara Humphreys - Luck of the Irish
Oh Sara, you sneaky wench you.... In Luck of the Irish, Sara introduces us to Declan Aherne and Maggie O'Malley. A story of a magic mirror, a lost love and a lonely girl.. Oh and leprechauns and sorcerers.. so basically nothing much *grins*.
Declan loved dearly but his love was forbidden and her father a powerful warlock. When his love died in childbirth, her father cursed him to a mirror for all eternity. Forcing him to watch the world go by but never participate. Centuries pass and Declan remained alone in the darkness until one day a woman with his amulet looks into the mirror..
Maggie O'Malley is alone in the world. Her family is all gone and she is just another body in the vast sea of humanity that is New York. What she does have to keep her going is an amulet her "aunt" gave her and a story about a magic mirror and a leprechaun.. When she finds the mirror and discovers that the story is true, let's just say Maggie reacts pretty normally... Especially since the "leprechaun" isn't the stuff from Lucky Charms but rather a 6'4" gorgeous hunk of a man, in a kilt no less...
As I said Sara introduces us to Declan and Maggie.. there is just too much of her story to contain to a few pages. What she does is once again weave a wondrous tale of fantasy and fun.. Taking legends straight from the myths we were raised on and twisting them into her own personal vision. And once again she hits it spot on!
Great Job Sara
Kimberly Kincaid - Something Borrowed
And finally, Kimberly Kincaid shows us that yes love can thrive even under the most negative of situations if you just give it half a chance...
Sasha Arrington has taken a while to figure out what she is going to be when she grows up but her over bearing parents put that as a failure and a flake. Going so far as to question if she can even manage to book her own flight and make her own reservations to her twin's wedding. A wedding she doesn't understand because face it, with their parents track record both of them should know that nothing lasts forever. But Sasha wants a way to be happy for her brother, attend the wedding and keep the parental bullseye off her back. Fortunately, her station partner at cooking school is willing to spend his spring break in Dublin "playing" the boyfriend.. Poor Sasha just doesn't see what hit her.
James Sullivan, successful consultant turned cooking student.. has had a thing for Sasha since she walked in the door. Finally, he's found a way to finagle a way past her prickly shields. Pretend boyfriend for a few days and maybe she will see him for who he really is and what he really wants. Yeah, there's no way that plan is going to blow up...
I liked this one, of course I loathed her parents, I don't like overbearing parental characters who just know that they know what's best. Fortunately Ms. Kincaid doesn't expect us to like them. Maybe feel sorry for them, but I don't. Just toss em off the plane somewhere over the Atlantic (in the book).
But Sully and Sasha survived parentageddon and what could have been a horribly experience for poor Sasha. And maybe just maybe Sasha will discover her ever after...
What a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. With a name like mine (Shaughnessey, yep that's what Shauni is short for) I am honor bound to celebrate St Paddy's so it makes me smile when authors try to do the same thing. Thanks ladies for a wonderful few hours with some really exceptional characters..
