Sakamoto Shin'ichi (坂本眞一) is a Japanese mangaka. He is mostly famous for his series Innocent and Innocent Rouge. He is currently working on #DRCL midnight children based on the classic by Bram Stoker.
Charles is no longer the lil puss boy he was huh. I’m so happy to see him stand up for himself and be confident in his identity. My girl Marie still doing her thing but I’m kinda sad she’s drifting apart from her bother.
Why this reminds me of Hamilton?! The first half of the volume focus on Charles Henry defending himself from the no good aristocrats of Versailles and the 2nd half on Marie Antoinette childhood and her proposal to Prince Louise of France. Also this book gives you reason to be happy living in 21st century and totally safe on smallpox while reading manga.
Hello Marie Antonette I'm Smallpox and I'll be your guide
Also Hello Marie Antonette I'm livesexshow and I'll be you're guide Did I mention that you guys should be grateful your living in this century. Porn is hard to watch back then.

it’s all coming together ?? like everyone’s finally all together in one place but like idk hm. quite good im into it now,

who did charles marry????? and when ???? also how old is andre cause like he’s like nicholas’ age right? so he’s like significantly older than marie? even tho she’s 19 now he like loved (?) her when she was like 11 so feeling odd abt him idk. <3 marie antoinette i think
I liked Louis Auguste's rather violent whimsies in Beautiful Executioner (ch 65). I especially like the panels of him riding the turtle, and on top of the globe. His musings on the color of his blood was a nice callback to Damiens's previous attempt to wound the king that led to his execution. Both their internal monologues seemed rather childish especially given that "blue blood" is a figure of speech, but the idea of a republic really was revolutionary then.
I'm sorry but Charles being sued by Lady Marlet was quite unexpected, and more funny than anything else.
What the fuck went on in The Lawsuit Of A Certain Marquise (ch 66) honestly... interesting to see Charles-Henri receiving attention though.
The Darkness that Dwells in the Palace (ch 67) showing that the Versailles was actually such a nasty place in more ways than one.
A Light of Justice (ch 68) was really melodramatic, but it was nice seeing Charles and Marie together again even under such circumstances. I like that Marie was hurt and wary of humans, but I don't understand why Charles isn't so.
I haven't touched this manga in years so I am quite lost. I must say though that I am impressed by Charles-Henri advocating for himself, the Sanson family, and their role as executioner in a compelling manner in The Executioner Dressed in Blue (ch 69). I do remember his meek personality and reluctance to carry this mantle.
I found myself more engaged when I started recognizing historical figures and events. I cannot wait to see how these people will be portrayed as characters in this manga.
Marie, the sister, looks so cool and beautiful.

Okay okay it’s picking up again. I just find trouble with them emphasizing how much charles has changed but with little details because of the time skips. I like that it’s returning to his original desire and highlighting the parallels between him and louis 😢 I hope it goes back into all of the emotional and moral work it was going in earlier volumes. Im still very obsessed
