Christmas All the Way

Rate this book
Welcome to Freezy Tye – voted Britain’s Most Christmassy Village seven years in a row.

Best friends since university, Keeley and Grace first bonded over their love of nineteenth century romance classics, but life has taken them in different directions. While Keeley became the top curator at Juniper Cottage, home of forgotten author Eliza Norton, Grace settled into family life and now faces an empty nest with her son leaving for Australia.

When Grace takes a part-time job at winter wonderland shop Santa's Secret, she soon starts clashing with the owner's grumpy son, Raff. Meanwhile, Keeley is horrified when brash social media expert Xander Jones is brought in to modernise Eliza's legacy. Determined to resist his ideas, she instead finds herself unexpectedly drawn to him.

As December nears, Freezy Tye competes to retain its Christmas title. But with serious competition from a neighbouring village, and heartache dragging them down, Keeley and Grace find their festive spirit is in short supply. Can they all find a way to pull together and deliver a festive season to remember.

I’ve wanted to write books for adults for as long as I can remember but I was too scared to try. One day I decided to be brave and dipped a toe into the bubble bath of romantic comedy with my first novella, Cupidity, and I’ve never looked back. I often try to be funny to be funny, except for when faced with traffic wardens and border control staff. My favourite thing is making people smile.

I’ve tried many jobs over the years, from barmaid to market researcher and I even had a brief flirtation with modelling. These days I am mostly found writing.

I live near London with my grey tabby cat, Portia. We both have an unhealthy obsession with Marmite.

What a highly enjoyable story this is, focusing on best friend Keeley and Grace who are both facing some change in their lives.

For Keeley, she suddenly has a new colleague at Juniper Cottage who is determined to increase visitor numbers, but she isn't overly onboard with the thought she may have someone to answer to. While Grace is facing an empty nest, but then gets a part-time job at Santa's Secret.

Santa's Secret is a massive open all year Christmas shop that has amazing displays, and every decoration you could ever imagine all under one roof. I would absolutely love to visit, and I would fear for my bank balance at the same time.

Unfortunately for me, the details to do with Juniper Cottage and Eliza Norton's life just weren't that interesting, as I am not a fan of history, so some of that to my mind felt a bit dry. But I did appreciate what they were trying to do which definitely did make it seem like history comes alive.

While I was loving everything to do with Grace's storyline, and I also enjoyed how they both were on the committee to see if Freezy Tye can win Most Christmassy village for yet another year. I loved the ideas that Grace came up with, and would have loved to be transported through the pages of the book to the village to see for myself.

I enjoyed the ladies' love interests too, and think I fell for both men a bit.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable first foray into festive fiction for Holly Hepburn which definitely left me feeling rather Christmassy.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Back to the festive reads after a little bit of beta reading, a bit of fantasy and a bit of murder! 😂

Thank you to @netgalley and @simonschusteruk for approving my request for this one.

I absolutely love Holly’s writing style (especially in The Baker Street Mysteries), so I was really excited to dive into this book.

The plot sounded intriguing, and as someone who loves a visit to a historical house, I was fascinated to see how the fictional Juniper House would be portrayed.

I really enjoyed having two FMCs’ stories running throughout the book. Their stories were connected through their friendship, but they also had their own independent storylines, giving them both time to shine and their own little romantic subplots. ❤️

I also loved the concept of the competition between the villages to win the best Christmas display! The amount of love, effort and energy that went into this from the local community was so heartwarming and really added to the cosy festive feel of the story.

Overall, this was such a cosy, lovely festive read, and I can’t wait to see Holly at the Winter Warmer event in Weyhill, Hampshire, at the end of the month! 💕

Published 10th November and available from all good bookshops 🥳✨

This book was the perfect cozy Christmas romance. It was set in a fictional village, a village that had won awards for its Christmas decorations. I loved descriptions of all the decorations, I really felt like I was there too.

Juniper house added some history to the book and the tours of the house reminded me of Christmas events I've attended in the past.

Loved the idea of Santa's secret, a warehouse type store that sells masses of Christmas stuff. I want to visit that.

Loved the mysterious Xander he was my favourite character. He made quite the impression on me.

If you want a book to give you a good dose of Christmas, to really get you in the festive mood, this is definitely the book for you.

What a cosy Christmas story, if you are a fan of history then this will be a five-star read for you, I am not, I understand history, but its just not a genre I enjoy submersing myself in as I read, that being said I did enjoy the story, It wasn’t a five-star read for me, but it was well written and had some great characters, including the village, the Santas secret and Juniper house itself, they all had delightful twists. The history felt a little long, but the cosy Christmas elements are just so cute and make me so excited for Christmas coming.

I love Holly Hepburn books and this is no exception. The wonderful descriptions of Juniper Cottage had me wishing it was real so that I could go there. The whole book made me really excited for the colder months and the feeling that Christmas is nearing and all the excitement that goes with it. A wonderful story that will make you feel all Christmassy.

The chapters on Eliza Norton really captured my imagination, she might just be my favourite Victorian author now too! The snippets at the start of each chapter are delightful. The village is beautifully described - as are the shop, the museums and the cast of characters, I can absolutely picture them all rushing out to see The One Show!

A fluffy, cosy Christmas read with abit of romance for good measure. Set in Freezy Tye the most Christmassy village (past 7 years). Will they be able to keep their title and will Keeley be able to rejuvenate Juniper Cottage and bring the tourists back.

Likeable characters. Easy reading
