Now in a Complete Collection!

Welcome to Darkblood—oops, I mean Darkhen Academy, where secrets lurk behind every spell and forbidden romance simmers beneath the mystical surface.

In this prestigious supernatural institute, three rules reign

Avoid all contact with The Seven, the enigmatic rulers of the magical academy.Steer clear of the Fae forest under the bewitching glow of the full moon…or else. And most definitely do not fall for one of the extremely hot and unattainable instructors, no matter how tempting their charms may be.But rules were made to be broken, right? And breaking them is practically my specialty.

I'm Luna Hallows, the latest addition to Darkhen's eclectic student body. Imagine my surprise when I discovered my own supernatural heritage—a revelation that landed me smack dab in the middle of a world I never knew existed.

As the sole human amidst a sea of magical beings—dragons, fae, witches, and vampires—I'm about as out of place as a unipeg at a werewolf convention. Yet, fate seems to have other plans for me, forcing me into a destiny I never asked for.

With the delicate balance between the human and supernatural realms hanging in the balance, it's up to me and my new classmates to prevent chaos from consuming both worlds.

But as tensions rise and passions flare, navigating love and duty becomes a challenge even magic can't solve.

One click above to dive into a world where supernatural secrets collide with simmering romance!

***This is an upper YA/NA crossover with schmexy supernatural guys and is best suited for age 16 and over. Be warned, the steaminess factor does increase through the course of the series!

***Darkblood Academy is set within the world of Azar along with Hitched but it's not necessary to read that series first to enjoy this one.

G.K. DeRosa

G.K. De Rosa has been an avid reader from a very young age. In fact, before she could even read, she tried fooling everyone into thinking that she could. At the precocious age of two, while living in Italy, she had memorized an entire children’s book in Italian and expertly turned the pages at the exact right moments of the story. As she grew up, she always enjoyed literature, no doubt having been instilled with a love of story telling from her early years in Catholic school where she was greatly influenced by exemplary teachers who taught her the value of English and Literature. Though she did not pursue writing in college and instead went for the more traditional route of International Business inspired by her love for travel and all things foreign, after a move to New York City, she found her creative writing side calling once again. She began writing a restaurant review blog, City Lights and Tasty Bites, detailing her other passion – food! The hectic hustle and bustle of the city, combined with long commuting times gave her the opportunity to spend more time reading and rekindled a lost love. After reading countless books in many diverse genres over the two years in New York City, and returning to her home state of Florida, she felt compelled to write something for herself. She had always felt particularly drawn to Young Adult novels and having been an eternal romantic at heart, a fantasy romance was a natural choice. She currently lives in South Florida with her real life Prince Charming and their fur baby, Nico the German Shepherd.

A very good series

I was going to drop to 4 but the story and characters were good 👍. My niggle? Ryder's eyes and Zeus's wings continually use the word onyx. After a couple of times I'm like yes we get the picture, he has dark eyes. There is no "she looked into his dark eyes" but always his onyx eyes and it just comes across as a bit lazy, so many words to describe black so use more descriptive words, it just comes over as lazy and repetitive. That's my little niggle. Same with Ryder's "citrine" eyes when turning into a demon, you could use other words as well.
But yes, the story takes place about a year after Hitched finishes. Luna has the same dad, and a different mum, who doesn't feature. She attends a academy in Azar but has no power does she? She's a dud. But all know that she does. She is befriended by Drake, Elrian's brother and Ryder and Cillian who you met in Hitched. There are other characters in Hitched that turn up as well.
Highly recommended, you read Hitched series first.

This is my second read of the series, this time as an audiobook. I loved it just as much the second time around. Although not required, I recommend reading DeRosa's "Hitched" series first. It would give you a background on multiple characters that play both big and small parts in this series. The characters are loveable (minus one, they know who they are!) are I felt just as invested. The series is mostly closed-door with nothing explicit so no pepper rating. The narrator struggles a little with doing multiple voices and is not great with portraying males, but you get used it and I don't think it took away from the story. The ending is what I would expect and didn't leave me with unanswered questions, 4 stars for the ending. Tropes include paranormal, shifters, vampires, love triangle, forbidden love, found family.

This narrator did an amazing job bringing an extra spark to this story. The series was full of tension, secrets, passion and embracing who you are. I had all the emotion though out all of the books. I had moments of utter sadness, love and time when I wanted to throw my headphones out the window because my characters where yet to be happy. So if that doesn't tell you just how invested I was in these book and all of these amazing characters. This truly couldn't have ending any better than it did. I loved how this picked up perfectly with the last series and can't wait to see what else this world has instore for me. I am sure GK DeRose will take me on another emotionally fantastic adventure.

I love everything there is about her books. They pull you right in and leave you wanting more and more. Every book I have read by GK DeRosa has been a hit with me.
The audiobook was good but the single person narration was just not for me. Though I did listen and it was done well.
